each and every one of you on this morning today those that are worshiping with us in the sanctuary as well as those that are in the worshiping with us in our virtual space you look good this morning you look blessed and highly favored again it is just another day that the lord has made and i'm glad that we are able to come together in the sanctuary amen now if you're watching with us for the how glorious is his name we come to give him glory on today psalms 15-6 says let everything that has breath praise the lord another translation says everything that has breath praise jesus all today so if you have breath in your body you ought to be giving them glory come on if you got breath in your body you ought to be lifting his name if you got to have breast in your body you ought to tell him that he's good if there's breath in your body you ought to just tell him that he's worthy if you have breath in your body you have to tell thank the god who gave you that breath come on now he is worthy come on i said he is worthy he's worthy of all the glory tell him that you love him tell him that he's good tell him that he's holy tell him that he's mighty tell him that he's magnificent oh bless the lord with me come on down lift up the name of jesus come on lift up the name of jesus there's nobody that is like our god i said there's nobody that is like god god i know you may be going through trouble i know you may be having trials i know there may be tribulation i know it may seem like it's trouble on every side but i got good news for you my bible says weeping may endure for a night but joy come on joy coming in the morning isn't that good news i said isn't that good news he died on friday night but earlier i said earlier joy got up so since joy got up then i can rejoice since joy got up then i can praise him come on since joy got up i would lift up his holy name bless his holy name in his place hallelujah hallelujah this morning scripture is coming out of second chronicles chapter five starting at verse 11 and reading all the way into verse 13. again that's second chronicles chapter 5 verse 11 through 13 and it reads as this and it came to pass when the priests will come out of the holy place for all the priests that were present were sanctified and did not then wait by course also the levites which were the singers of all of asaph of heman and objected in when the sons and their brethren being arrayed in white living having symbols and sultries and hearts stood at the east end of the altar and with them 120 priests sounding with trumpets verse 13 says it came to pass it came even to pass as the trumpet and singers were as one to to make one sound to be heard in the praising and thinking of the lord and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and the symbols and the instruments of music and praise the lord saying for he is good for his mercy endureth forever that the that the house was filled with the cloud even the house of the lord amen let's go before the lord in prayer father we praise you on today because you are holy magnificent and mighty in all your ways lord we just desire to be in your presence in fact father god we need to be in your presence oh what a privilege it is to dwell in the house of the lord so father god it is our reasonable service to lift your name upon today father we bless you because you are gracious lord we bless bless you because you are merciful father god we magnify you because your name is great and there is no name that is greater than your name so we come into this place father god with our mouths lifted up and with our hands lifted up father god to praise you father god to lift you to let you know father god that there is nobody who deserves our praise there's nobody who can do us like you on today father god so we want to make sure that we give you your due father god you are holy lord i said you are holy and there is no one that is like you so father god we ask that you come into this place father god we need you to be in this place because there's no place that is safer than in your will father god so continue to order our steps father god continue to reign on your people continue to wrap your arms around us because we need you in this place father god we need you on this day father god lord we ask right now that you continue to let your love fall down we ask that you continually let your righteousness fall down lord we continue to ask that you let your justice fall down father god on all your people lord we know there are people that are out there that are hurting right now we lift up those that are affected by the hurricane item we ask right now father god everything that they have lost that you replenish father god not according to our riches but a father god according to you to your riches father god we we ask lord that you meet every need and let no need go unmet father god we continue to pray for this nation we continue to pray for our government we continue to pray for our soldiers we continue to pray for our military we continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in afghanistan father god we put them in your hands because we know father god that is the best place they can be now father god we continue to come against this coronavirus we continue to come against this pandemic we lift up the medical workers father god we lift up each and every person that is in a hospital that is working to help combat this uh pandemic father god father god we bless the teachers we ask that you bless the children we ask that you bless students who ex bless universities father god as we continue to live with it and deal with it on today father god but we leave it at your feet father god because we know that everything shall bow at the name of jesus father god for we know that this too shall pass so we count it all joy and we give you victory in in advance right now father god for what you are doing and what you continue to do now father god as the man of god comes to give us the word on today father god open up our hearts may we decrease father god so that we can increase in you father god pour fresh oil on us father god and fill up our cups so that we can do what we have been called to do father god it is in your name that we pray it is in your name that we believe in and it's in your name that we have the victory here for no other purpose but to lift the name of jesus for he is lord amen amen we want to continue to pray for the mac land family please please remember them in your prayers as well as the uh the smiley family we want to continue to cover them in prayer as well as the hurt family we want to continue to cover them and there's several others who are experiencing bereavement but we know as i heard somebody say earlier we've been man do it for a night but joe always come in the morning we're gonna get through this because our god never fails i want you to put up deuteronomy chapter number eight and verse number 10. i pray that you all are enjoying this holiday weekend and bless those who are traveling but who thought it not robbery still to join in with us and put god first wherever you are and make sure that you spend your time of worship with the lord i like what god says here he says when thou has eaten and when you're full he says when thou shalt bless the lord thy god for the good land which he hath given thee the next verse says beware that thou what forgive not the lord thou god and not keeping his commandments and his judgment and his statues which i command thee this day that's a big thing with god you know he says after i bless you don't forget me that seems simple enough he says after i bless you after i'm so good to you just don't forget me i say to us this day as good as god has been to us let's not forget it after we enjoy all of our good eating and we enjoy all of our good activities don't forget the god who made it all possible and we bless him today we give of our tithes we give of our offerings we give of our first fruits i'm i've never been one of those pastors who tell people don't travel don't go on vacations you're supposed to go rest amen you're supposed to go spend time with your family if you're always here amen and not taking care of family then something's going to be wrong at home and the church will be only as strong as the family is at home we understand that but as you're doing your activities as you're traveling as you're on vacation don't forget about the lord give god praise amen don't forget about him so wherever you are if you're here if you're there let's remember the lord and give him what belongs unto him father we put you first we honor you we thank you for being our provider our sustainer our protector we would not have anything if it wasn't for you we pray for the dear people in new orleans and other areas who have been hit by devastation and tragedy we understand that it could have been us but by your mercy and your grace you have kept us so we shall not forget you we remember you and we bless you and even blessed us to be a help to those others who are in needs accept our gifts and our sacrifices in jesus name amen i want you to know that i was on the phone with bishop paul martin and bishop there brister last night they asked us to give them another week to survey the needs of the people in the new orleans areas and then we will start helping them and i will ask of you some things some tangible ways to show love to the people that are hurting but um until then we will be praying for them and waiting for an opportunity to even help them no more amen god bless you let's continue worshiping if you have an offering you can bring it now and we're going to continue in that giving spirit and that worshiping spirit anybody want god to just get the glory out of your life this morning can anybody just testify lord i just want you to get the glory i just want you to have glorified [Music] hallelujah [Music] you get the glory [Music] you get the praise you take the honor i've got to say thank you you get the glory hallelujah how many of us that is your prayer that is your desire for god to be glorified in our lives if that's your prayer give god a great big praise lord be glorified be honored i want you to be manifested in my life i'm amazed at the flow of god the continuity of god because that's what i'm preaching on this morning on glory and it seems every song that the praise team has sung to us this morning is on the theme of glory that's how amazing our god is and god just desires to be glorified he just simply wants to be honored and loved and thanked and appreciated and that's what that's the atmosphere that is in this place amen i want you to open up the word of god to the gospel according to saint john chapter number one i want to teach you a truth this morning john 1 and verse number 14 thank you praise team the story of the glory the story of the glory the story of the glory the story of the glory we have been talking about the missing five it's been a wonderful teaching and we have been talking about how the children of israel came out of babylonian captivity after 70 years and they were rebuilding the second temple not solomon's temple but the temple upon the zerubbabel and ezra and nehemiah and we were we've been discussing what was missing the five missing things out of that temple there was no ark of the covenant we studied had a good study uh focusing on that wednesday and we'll study the day that there was the glory was missing and fire the fire of god was not there the urim and the thummim was missing there was no discernment and then we will discuss that there was no prophetic voice but i want you to really grab what does it mean when uh we study today that there was no glory there no glory no manifest presence of god you couldn't feel the presence of god you didn't know you knew that god was not there the bible says in john chapter number one and verse number 14 and the word was made what flesh and what stop right there do you not know what the word dwelt there in the greek actually means tabernacled he says the word talking about jesus actually tabernacled among us and we beheld his what glory there that's our word the glory as of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth the invisible god came to earth dwelt among us and we were able to beheld his glory all right now i want you to go to john chapter number 17 john chapter number 17 and you can take your seats we just read john 1 and 14. i want you to go quickly to john chapter number 17 and verse number 20. john chapter number 17 verse number 20. this is really the lord's prayer all right what we call the lord's prayer is the disciples prayer because the disciples had asked the lord teach us how to pray but this is jesus really praying his high priestly prayer john 17 and verse 20 says neither pray i for these alone john 17 and 20 but for them also which shall believe on me through their word that they all may be one as thou father or in me and i in thee that they also may be one in us the world that the world may believe that thou hast sent me and the what glory which thou art uh-huh thou gavest me i have what uh uh wait amen you gave it to me but now i gave it to you thank you that they may be one even as we are one i in them and thou in me that they may be made perfect in me and that the world may know that thou has sent me and has loved them as thou has loved me very powerful take your seats very powerful so look at this watch this so the uh mary the same glory that we've been discussing in the old testament that was in the tabernacle and was in the first temple now we see it where in john 1 we see it in jesus jesus is the word that became flesh tabernacled dwelt among us and we beheld the glory we beheld the glory it was in jesus then now let's stay with me now jesus prays in john 17 and says the father the glory you gave me now i want you to give it to them so it moves from jesus to the church why haven't we been taught that the glory that was first in the tabernacle and in the first temple it left where did it go it went into jesus and then it went from jesus into the church you have to get that you have to get that okay now here's the first thing that i want you to write down very important man was made in glory write that down man was made in glory i see denise on here with us and amber and all these wonderful people celestine and kenyatta and jennifer all y'all are rolling with us all right genesis 1 27 where do you get this point that man was made in glory i get it from genesis 1 and 27 it says so god created man in his own what okay in his own image in the image of god he created what them all right male and female he created them both genders okay man had both genders within him so there was male and female in the one atom that's before god pulled out of adam he's real and then brought forth eve so in in in the one man all right god is speaking to both genders you get that he's speaking when he's talking about his image and his likeness he is not just saying it is for man it was for both man and woman it was for both male and female that's the point that i'm trying to get across all right let me preach it this way man is not the only one who uh has god's glory women got god's glory too i think you women ought to give god praise right there and sometimes we men wonder if y'all got more glory all right put psalms eight and five up because you we have to get this because many times the church and we should we preach and we focus on sin but we sometimes we focus on seeing so much that you forget about the glory all right and we walk around i'm just a sinner and we lose what we lose in the sense is our identity that we've been created in the image of god in his likeness and and and and it was the original intent of god for us to walk in and share in his glory okay now look what psalms 8 and 5 says it says for thou has made him talk about man a little lower than the what angels wow and has crowned him with what glory and honor did you know that about you don't shake your neighbor's hand don't don't ask your neighbor nothing ask you that you know that you're crowned with glory and honor okay you have been he watch this he gave him dominion okay god crowned him he gave him dominion god bless the hands all right and bless the work of his hands all right that's what god is doing here and so adam and eve when what happens in the garden when they sin because first of all god says that they were naked and what not ashamed okay they were naked and not ashamed now you know why they were naked and out of shame look up here get this because we we think it was just a idea because they was walking around and they didn't have no clothes on you know why they were naked and out of shame because they were clothed with his glory god it wasn't just a matter of our clothes past them alone but they were clothed with his glory that's why they were naked and out of shame but watch this once they sin watch this they lose some of the clothing because all have sinned and short of what some of the glory fell off i wish i had a praying church before they seen dennis they were naked and not ashamed why not because they simply you know you want to worry that they didn't have clothes on is because he had clothed them with glory but when they seen deacon johnson guess what happened they lose some of the clothing of his glory so now man becomes watch this all have sinned and fallen short of his glory man in his totality is not able to express the image and the likeness of god because he's not being totally like god when he's following satan are you still with me and i'm glad the verse didn't say y'all have sinned it's at all have sinned should we all in that now put romans chapter number one and verse number 23 because this is a very dangerous verse i'm gonna tell you what happens when we fall short of god's glory and i want you to get it this very dangerous thing when whenever man falls short of god's glory i'm gonna tell you what he he would do you please write it down he makes an exchange of glory which means this he'll find a cheap substitute you're gonna be glad you came today you're gonna be glad you're watching watch this when man falls short of the glory of god he's always going to exchange the glory or he will find a cheap substitute he will exchange the glory of the immortal god for images he changes the truth about god for a lie and worships and serves the creature instead of the creator that's what that's what it says romans 1 23 and change the glory of the uncorruptable god into an image made like to corruptable man and to birds into four-footed beasts and to creepy things do you see what is going on there look at verse 24 verse 24 wherefore god also gave them up unto uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts to dishonor their own bodies between themselves next verse who changed the truth see of god into a lie and worship and serve the what creature more than the what creator who is forever amen when you don't worship god and the truth of god and you watch this do not give him glory watch this and you fall short of the glory you begin to exchange the glory and you begin to come up with cheap substitutes so you take what god created you take man and you start worshiping man as he's god all right you start coming up with celebrities and you start coming up with stars and you start making animals in the gods and you start anything you can get your hands on because you got to come up with a cheap substitute because now you start believing a lie because you rejected the truth so now you got to find people to make them into your god you got to find singers and actors and you got to find super athletes i wish somebody would come come here with me and then we even got to start making superstar preachers and superstar singers in the church because see what you don't want to do is worship god and give him the glory so since you don't want to give god the glory we start finding people and we start giving them the glory that only belongs to god and so instead of watch this boom praising him and thanking him you rather stand on your feet and clap when a man walks in the room and and you don't mind getting excited and chill bumps when a lady sings a song but now you'd have got to the point that god no longer moves you but here's the point when you get sick you don't call the man when when when tornadoes and hurricane hits you don't call the star you oh when coronavirus hits you and they tell my putting you on a ventilator it's interesting you don't call the movie star you don't call the football player you don't call the basketball player now it's like lord i need you he says well the question is why you didn't need me before see if you talk to him every day it's a local call see and when you make local calls you don't have to make all of these emergency calls because he's he's used to talk can i preach to anybody he's you don't just call him when you get in trouble it's about having a relationship with the lord and see you it's it's okay it's okay to respect folk it's okay to honor people but you never put people on the same pedestal with jesus he's in a class all by himself he said i i would have no other gods before me besides me you you never give anybody the how much that you give to him and that's why i'm glad it's football season and cheer for your team and go team but that'll be something that you give to god that you don't give to nobody else and if i can shout for my team i can shout louder for my jesus if i if i can get happy when they score a touchdown i get happy because he hung on the cross because he died for me and after three days he got up for me i i get happy when i think i'm just i'm just thrilled that he woke me up this morning and that he put food on my table clothes on my back i'm just thrilled that he brought me through danger scene and unseen when i when when i just think about the goodness of jesus and all that he's done for me my soul shouts hallelujah anybody else i just thank god for saving me and what's going on in this day and time we are exchanging the glory we're substituting it we're hijacking his glory we we want the glory instead of giving him the glory i could stay there a while but so man man fell short all of sin and fallen short of the glory of god and and and man rebelled and lost the glory and the covering and and so then you know what god did in in genesis 3. god says now you you don't fail short of my glory so god had to clothe them with skins that's what he did right he killed an innocent animal and he clothed them with skins when man falls short of god's glory watch this and he begins to make all of these substitutes and all of these things then god that's that's when god stepped in and and and god instituted his plan of redemption i'm glad that god saved me because i couldn't save myself and when god saw that i was dependent upon other things and trying to work my way to him and trying to do things on my own to have a relationship with him god says you you can't do it so god went out and killed an animal an innocent animal that didn't do anything wrong and god took the skin the coat of that animal and he clothed adam and eve that was a picture of jesus christ the sinless lamb of god who never done anything wrong but he went to calvary and he shedded his blood and then the father clothed us with his righteousness i love god because he preached the gospel before the gospel you you think that god had to respond to man sin that after man sin god said well i got to come up with a plan but god never reacts if he ever reacts he ceases to be god can i preach to somebody he never has to re as a matter of fact the bible says the lamb was slain before the foundations of the world before there ever was a problem god had already come out with the solution here it is the temple had the glory and then fell short i'm almost due can i show you that real quick look at exodus 40. look at exodus 40. we'll look at the tabernacle and the temple and i just want you to see that the glory cloud was present that's all i want you to see that it was there somebody shot it was there exodus 40 verse number 34 and verse number 35. all right exodus 40 34. there you go and and a cloud you see that covering the tent of the congregation and the glory of the lord come on talk to me what happened it filled the tabernacle give me the next verse and moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation because the cloud abold their own and the glory of the lord talked to me what did it do whoa you're talking about a church service you couldn't even get in there because the glory was in there the presence of god was so thick moses said ain't preaching today god took over the church glory of god filled the church put ezekiel 10 and 18. ezekiel 10 and 18. thank you lord ezekiel 10 and 18. somebody say i love the word mm-hmm uh but the folks start seeing and they start acting up right um when adam and eve seeing in the garden what happened they start falling short all have seen and fallen of the glory of god and god had to come and cover them because they was first clothed in glory so now god has to come and cover them with glory now guess what when the children of israel start sinning just like adam and eve now we start losing glory watch what happens in exodus 10 and 18. then the glory of the lord don't be scared what happened it did what it departed from off the threshold of the house and stood over the what stop right there y'all stop right there guess what the glory said y'all want to keep acting up in here god says you ain't gonna do what i said do god say i tell you what i'll let it be like burger king i'ma let you have it your way god will not stay in a place where he's not being honored so guess what the glory lifted and god said i'm getting ready to go it was almost as if watch this it was almost as if he got at the door and he was waiting on somebody to scream and say please don't leave but the people were so arrogant that when he got to the door then nobody even cry for him then nobody even asked him the steak who can i preach it like i feel it and so he just kind of hung out at the door please but whoever working on them screams you bad put ezekiel 11 and verse number 22. i'm almost through ezekiel 11 and 22. it says then did the cherubims do what lift up their wings and the what wheels beside them and the glory of the god of israel was what over them but now it's flying off here verse 23 he gone somebody shout he gone and the glory of the lord went up from the mist aware it's the left the church it's the left the city and stood upon what the mountain which is on the east side of the city y'all better let me teach the word in here guess what the glory said the glory said we out of here matter of fact we ain't just leaving the temple we're leaving the whole city so the word glory is the word kabad now when the glory leaves it becomes ichabod the place was known as ichabod which means there's no glory can i preach and tell you there's a whole lot of churches known as ichabod there's no glory there which means you can come on sunday you can sing some songs you can read some scriptures a preacher can get up and do a talk but ain't no glory there i don't want to be an ichabod church i don't want to be a church where some people just come and give some money and put on some colors and put on some uniforms and serve communion but god is not there if god ain't not here i don't want to be here either wherever god is i'm chasing him i'm pursuing after him is there anybody that got to have god is there anybody want god i don't want to just be a member of a church i don't i don't just simply want to be inside of some four walls somebody talked to me in here anybody need his presence anybody need his power anybody need his provisions anybody need i got to have god i'm going through too much hell to sit up in a place with just a bunch of people i got sickness in my family i got pain in my body i got trials and you talking about with kovic virus you're talking about with hurricanes in new orleans you talking about with floods in new york you talking about with all this mess going on in the world you think i'm gonna sit up in church with just a bunch of people that's too much hell to be going through to be sitting up in a place and ain't no god up in here you got to have the glory [Music] if it wasn't for the glory some of us would have lost our minds if it wasn't for the glory of god how could you make it through all of this if it wasn't for the glory of god how could you get up this morning with hope and with joy and with peace you got problems at home you got problems on your job you got problems out of your kids you got problems out of your mate but when the glory is present it's something about the glory of god that gives you strength that gives you power that gives you joy they won't let you give up i need his presence put hair guy two and eight i wish i had y'all all day that scared me that scared me pastor foster the glory just got up and left did y'all see that and it had been gone it's no record of it coming back that's the problem it's no record of it ever coming back that's why hair guy said in hair guy two and eight the silver god said the silver is mine the goal is mine says the lord of hosts come on he said the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the farmer said of the lord of hosts and in this place somebody shout this place will i give peace settle the lord of hosts guess what god said he says i'm promising that there's going to be a greater glory returning god promised that a greater glory is going to happen he says right in this place somebody need to be praising god he said even though he said even though the glory left he said if you think it was something during the days of solomon if you think it was something during the days of moses he said there's a glory getting ready to come that's going to shake up everything there's a glory that's getting ready to come that's going to feel everything if you think you have felt the power of god can i tell you that that's getting ready to be signs wonders and miracles can i tell you that people are getting ready to be saved by the thousands can i tell you that god is getting ready to slap cocaine out of four systems can i tell you that god is getting ready to take alcohol out of people's taste buds can i tell you that the lame are getting rid of the water the blind are getting ready to see can i tell you that the counselor is getting ready to fall off people's bodies can i preach and tell you aids is getting ready to leave people's body can i prophesy and tell you that kovic is getting ready to disappear out of people's system why are you not praising god god says i'm getting ready to turn your financial situation around i can do it cause the goal is mine the silver is mine i can reach into your bank account and i can turn things around god says you get ready to go from waiting on checks to signing checks god said i'm getting ready to give you a new land new houses i just need somebody who appraised me i just need somebody who will thank me i just need somebody who will give me glory [Applause] how dare you look at somebody tell them what greater glory is on the way tell them you ain't seen god's best yet somebody got to praise god see you you've been blessed and you you you ain't seen god's best miracle yet you you haven't experienced great at god's greatest power yet so where did it go and i'm through they were looking for the glory they said wait wait wait they saw it they said they it left the temple this way it went and stood over the look it was like it went and stood over the mountain and looked back they said anybody want the glory and guess what they say we'll do all right without you i feel the power of god because god told me that america been watching the glory leaving why we've been arguing about politics and why we've been arguing about white and black and and while we've been sitting around watching injustice the glory been leaving i can't go that far and glory been leaving and leaving and we thought we was the biggest baddest and glory just kept on we was only bad cause we had the glory see you you took the glory for granted the only reason why you was getting victories is because of the glory the reason why your house has been blessed because you had the glory and then the glory left and god said i'ma let you experience what it's like when it's just you and they kept looking for the glory they said where is it and for 400 years between malachi and matthew that was total silence and the priest went on with that business in the temple shouting without no glory without no art god went even there and they was putting on a show until all of a sudden there's an old preacher out there in the wilderness eating grasshoppers and drinking a jaw honey and they said who was he they said he went to nobody's school he ain't got no bishop caller who was that out there preaching and they said somebody says named john the baptist they say he preaches though he says repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand i said wait we never heard anybody preach like that and he says the word was made flesh and dwelt the manner and we beheld the glory the only begotten of the father and that's the first word they had heard in 400 years that the glory that they had lost and had been looking for was now in jesus christ it had been gone because they couldn't find no place to rest and they found jesus and they found a place to move into and then jesus got ready to go to heaven and say i got the transferred into another place and he transferred into his church colossians 1 27. christ in you the hope of glory but if nobody ever preaches that to you you walking around thanking you some second class citizen and you ain't nothing and you don't know that there's glory in you god i felt that there's glory in you that's power in you jesus lives in you the holy spirit of god that's why you see things you're afraid to tell folk that's why you dream things you don't want to share with folk because you think folk would think you're crazy there's glory in you you're not normal you got abnormal stuff going on inside of you stand on your feet and for your whole life people have been trying to tell you something wrong with you because nobody ever told you what was right with you you're not supposed to be understood by common people the natural man does not understand the things of the spirit neither can he understand them their foolishness to him they have to be spiritually understood [Music] you walk in places and people just drone to you and you can't even explain why it happens [Music] that certain people try to come around you and be your friend and for some reason it just never works out because they can't fit in with you everybody can't handle their glory [Music] i hear god saying the hour has come that it's going to be very difficult for you to hide the glory up to this point you have been able to double down and you've been able to do what you had to do to get along with folk and you haven't shown all this in you but i hear god say now is the hour that i'm calling you out because the world demands what god has deposited in you he put it in you before you was ever in your mother's womb and sanctioned you and ordained you for this hour i feel it in the name of jesus lift your hands and worship god lift your hands and worship god [Music] just give him glory come on somebody
