OAHU | BEST THINGS TO DO IN 2023 (from a local resident)

[Music] aloha from the island of oahu hawaii today i have a special treat for you all because i'm taking on the best things to do here on the island of oahu when you visit the island of oahu and you're doing your research on things to do it can be overwhelming there's so much to do so my goal here today is to save you time and money for your trip over to oahu this morning today we're heading over to the kaneohe sandbar because this is probably one of my favorite things there is to do during your visit here you can go snorkeling kayaking and no without me keep telling you all these things let's go ahead and go over to the canary sandbars either [Music] all right so we're at the sandbar we see over there there's volleyball right over there there's the barge right here you can cruise on and then see that boat right there get on that boat and then we're gonna go in the banana boat by getting on some kayaks and cowboys we got time we got like three hours out here this set i think so i've got quite a bit of times early in the morning the water's a little cold but it's gonna warm up so it's gonna be fun let's do this i've been on a boat before my cabbie has it so she's in for a surprise bye it was at this moment that he knew good move [Music] look at this kayak boat right it's clear you can you can see the sand on the bottom here you see beautiful gabriella right there my wifey but look it's just clear we're paddling the mountains are beautiful it's just a sandbar it's definitely a really good way to start the trip [Music] [Music] so now we're on the paddle board i suggest if you do this you might as well get on everything do the kayaks do the paddle board do the banana boat do the tube if you can uh definitely definitely one of the best things to do on your we just got to the star of honolulu we're doing the sunset dinner cruise there's different tiers we chose the five star dinner i think it's like steak and lobster and there's dessert as well this boat as you can tell is huge we took the bus over here actually so you can have them pick you up so if you want to get a bunch of drinks you can do that but we just got here to the boat so let's go check it out i think we're the last ones on board right now thank you [Music] so we just got to our table this looks incredible we got some salad that just looks really really beautiful it's the most beautiful salad that i've ever seen and then we got some cheese we got some crackers some fruit some breadsticks and then gabby has our drink orders i don't drink but gabby's lucky because she's gonna have my drink so gabby gets four drinks it's a pretty big ballroom pretty big restaurant there's three levels i believe downstairs is the buffet area then this is like the next level and then the top is like seven quarters there this is the five-course day we're gonna be having today we just got our lobster here this is our second course of our five course meal i would be so folded out of this hopefully you can hear me we're on course number three i got this steak with some potatoes [Music] all right so we have the dessert i think it's like a cheesecake or like some licorice heart or something like that it looks really good we're heading back in all right so we're back at the hotel room so that five course meal was definitely worth it the sunset was beautiful if you do want to do with the one ocean diving where we free dive with sharks it was really really cool there was so so many sharks down there there's hundreds of sharks pretty low down and now we're stopping to get breakfast here in hollywood at konos i got the breakfast burrito gabby also got a breakfast burrito [Music] is so good this is cane juice while you're over here in the north shore i highly recommend you stopping at haleiwa as you can see it's a really good place to go shopping there's shave ice here behind me there's cane juice it's really a good place if you want to get breakfast lunch or dinner it's the popular you know north shore of oahu a lot of cool little boutique shops definitely we're coming over to the north shore to do it but other than that let's head out we're about to go over the famous iconic hale eva bridge right now as you can see it's not the coolest bridge in the world but it's you know it's pretty popular whenever you think of north shore you definitely see photos of the haleeva bridge here okay so we're here at the dole plantation when you look at top things to do on the island of oahu this seems to always come up i've been here once before so if you like pineapples this is where you go because everything pineapple you will find here at the dole plantation and if you know me you've been following this channel for a little while you already know i love pineapples i mean heck i even got one tattooed on me so let's go ahead and go check out the dole plantation because gabby behind the camera here hasn't even been there let's go check it out so pretty much this gift shop as you can see here has everything pineapple from soaps to lotions to treats no shortage of pineapples at the dole plantation that's for sure so we have the plantation garden tour here and the weight is currently 30 minutes and you can see that line right there so a lot of people think pineapples grow on trees as you can see from what gabby just showed you down there that they in fact do not grow on trees they grow in the ground and actually right here whenever you see a pineapple from the store this top the crown here you can once you're done with your pineapple you can actually peel that off put it in water what gaby and i are actually doing over at home in maui and then you just plant it back in the ground so all of these are the crowns on top of an old pineapple and they grow new pineapples quite like this one so if anyone tells you pineapples growing trees they in fact do not grow on trees thank you we got the zipper cup the pet with the dole whip with pineapple juice inside it's so good so the dole plantation has a maze they have the train tour that you can do the train just goes around the plantation it's not a very long ride it's very short well not we'll so you guys know just in case of covid or any questions you might have you do share your tables with both experiences the cheaper one and the more expensive one you don't get a private table or anything like that so there's people across from you you're just basically sharing a table but it is a very beautiful setting back there near this beautiful big rainbow you got the water slides as well but i'm really excited this looks really really good you got the bar you got some like souvenirs you can probably purchase over there and it's gabby's first luau by the way her very first luau all right so we got to the food line as you see we've got some rice it's all buffet style but also the cobait and all of that it's a little bit different now we have chicken fish slow cooked pork vegetables [Music] so we just got done with the chiefs luau and you know what i've been to a lot of luaus in my day especially on the island of maui where i'm from i've been to all the luau's and a lot of the luau's here too this is one of the best lures i've been to fire dancing show was incredible they have a couple world champions up there doing the fire dancing so if you come to see really that's going on behind me this isn't very long compared to all the other ones because after this first initial zipline they actually take you on new tvs you do a little bit off-roading to begin with which is very nice surprise you take the you go off-road all the way up into the mountain and then you take the other eight zip lines down or seven zip lines there's there's a lot of zip lining to do about to go on the first zip of the day how you feel good i'm excited you're not nervous no you're scared of heights though so even if you're scared of heights this isn't too bad to do that no no it's fries right here oh my gosh so we're doing the crouching lion hike on the way back you can kind of see the mountain we're going up it's behind these trees here it might be kind of hard to see on camera but it's about one to two hour hike i think right we're gonna do it on sunset one to two hours at least that's what all trails said so we're gonna be doing that for a sunset hike [Music] wow it's a very first initial bite 0 to 10 10 being the best burger i've ever had zero being the burger i hope not to ever have i give this a solid 10. i'm not kidding that you got to try it it's so good what this burger looks like it also tastes that good very very good burger all right let's try the fries oh these fries are like the these kind of fries they're cut like that okay this is worth a stop i believe simon brothers has a few other locations on the island just google seven brothers while you're here definitely definitely worth it i know gabby's really hungry back there so i'll see you guys on the hike all right let's keep eating you guys have a bite as well that's so pretty look at that behind me if you want to do this hike it's a very steep but i think it's short but look at this view look at that very pretty view huh this is it this is the top oh hi people over there at the top of the ridge wow look at this let's go check out this side now oh wow you're like on a ridge in the middle so you see both different sides here wow we made it to the top where this part of the crouching lion hike there's a bunch of different viewpoints but this hike is i mean it's beautiful we're doing this at sunset time on our way back from the zip line and you can see the view here of over there it's almost a 360 view it's a 180 view as you can see here you got some people coming down from that main point so you can actually hike all the way up to that little point right there but yeah you can hike up to there you can see on this side oh well there's a whale over to the right over there i highly recommend this hike i wouldn't recommend this hike if you're for like small children elderly if if you have knee problems or anything it's very slippery i mean i think all trails are saying to gabby it takes like two hours to get here one to two hours it took us what 15 minutes yeah maybe even shorter than that it was very very quick but i can imagine it probably takes a long time if it's very very muddy right now it's a little slick but not too bad if you have some hiking experience very experienced hiker i would say definitely check this one out it's called the crouching lion wow look at that oh my god at least i got that [Music] me [Music] [Music] so we're up at my favorite spot for sunset that's going to be the tan to this lookout point so if you're here on oahu and you want a good place for sunset especially one overlooking the city as you can see behind me here you can see diamond head over there the sun set about five or ten minutes ago so we just made it after sunset and this is about the time when the city lights start to pop out so most of the people that are here for sunset actually already left if you come up here i think it's well worth staying after the sun is actually set to see the city lights pop up but do keep in mind if you park up here the gates close at 6 45 pm so be sure to get out of here before 6 45 or else you're gonna be locked in here but yeah if you want a great spot for sunset away from the crowds of like waikiki beach and all of that just drive up the tent this year overlooking the city is very short but a very beautiful drive so there are a few more activities that i would like to feature in this video that i love that had a great time from the last time i visited the island of oahu and that was to go into shark cage diving to go off-roading and to get on a sailboat so i think if you don't do the free diving with sharks you should definitely check out the shark cage tour along with if you don't do zip lighting you should probably do an off-roading activity and alongside that if you don't do the dinner cruise that we did in this video do a sunset dinner cruise at some point get on the boat at some point during your trip to oahu is definitely well worth it there are a ton of activities that unfortunately did not feature in this video here today but i've done every single thing there is to do on the island of
