Oahu’s North Shore Things to Do for a Perfect Day | North Shore Beaches, Snorkeling, & Shrimp Trucks

so we're doing something a little bit different today usually when we go up to the north shore we stop in haleiwa first this time we are going to the end and going to kahuku and what are we doing here [Music] hi we're erica and jordan and we live on maui with our son henry we took a week-long trip to oahu to see friends and visit some of our favorite spots in this video we share a one-day itinerary on the north shore we crammed a lot into one day so pick your favorites and have a safe and wonderful trip let's hit the road [Music] so we like to get up early to head out to the north shore especially you stay in waikiki because the long drives like 45 minutes to get the jalieva so we recommend stopping at green world coffee farm place is great they also give tours it smells like roasted coffee because they are roasting coffee here it is fresh hawaiian coffee very popular place we love it really good banana bread too so let's hit the road to head on up to the north shore banana bread for henry and who's liking the banana bread has poi in it [Music] after i live on oahu for a few years it's a lot of fun for here can i come back here and show henry all of our favorite spots and of course hit up some of these playgrounds that we saw but never actually went to [Music] that gate right there with the coconut yeah all the way to the torch to the mountain this fruit is yeah back there there is the only thing is not ours from california this one from here okay the rest of this is to grown in our back i'm definitely going to get a little call okay there are a lot of farm stands on the north shore we are at kahuku farms lots of locally grown produce the farm is actually in the back right there so it's mostly locally grown we got some lilikoi we got fried bananas and a regular banana these are really good should we try a fried banana yeah so that's good right this one is really good oh thank you now that we have some food we are going to head up snorkeling ready here we go to the beach to the beach to the beach oh it's pretty out here huh okay henry do you think we go snorkeling here right now we're right past kahuku it is a great little snorkel spot right here nice little bay beautiful beach if you can't tell there's nobody here a lot of people don't want to make the drive all the way up here but great way to start your north shore itinerary right at the tip very tippy top of oahu and look at this absolutely beautiful today's a little too windy for us see the surf starting to come in because it's december so check the weather reports before you come it was a lot calmer on the other side where like shark's cove was so we're gonna go check that out and there's camping here too so if you're interested in some beachside camping it's legit [Music] good [Music] fish tacos how's the food buddy [Music] remember when you're snorkeling in hawaii never turn your back on the ocean and even these super calm days and these well protected coves it actually looks perfect be very careful you never know what happened out [Music] there [Music] do [Music] so there is a famous turtle viewing beach on oahu we don't generally go to that we go to this one but it's through a residential neighborhood fyi they do have car breaking sometimes that we've been told about and be respectful to the residents living here they got parking but to stay quiet and stuff like that yeah we find it's a better turtle viewing experience here and remember to stay far away from the turtles but we call it the lost beach because this is where the set of lost was even when we lived here on oahu they saw this set set up like if you're a big lost fan like this is where it was filmed oh look at those turtles [Music] we have stand up paddle board for erica and a kayak for us and we are gonna go up the river see we can see some turtles up there swimming with us uh 2021 will be 100 the building oldest surf and dive shop in all the islands we've also done a lot of stuff in the past like things you want to talk about or uh we still guns in one place oh that's part of the old train station you have a foundation all right who's gonna be the captain [Music] here we go [Music] look it's a dragon it's a dragon am i gonna fit under the bridge she's making it all right we're looking for turtles i would totally recommend this yeah really fun this is so nice it's a nice way to see holly eva in the area nice and quiet no turtles yet but maybe on the way out we'll see a [Music] turtle [Music] how do you like this no line of giovanni's crazy you got the famous giovanni's behind me right here this is a food truck park in holleyeva great place to grab food usually big lines here but still like december cove at times but hallelujah is great there's so many shopping complexes here great little local shops art galleries surf shops shave ice that's why eric and i always come back here this was oh just the best days on the north shore are so fun we can't regret when we lived here and not going to the north shore more often so he's like oh the traffic is so far but like it's totally worth it we're planning on coming back this trip too if you like this
