Nordhavn 68 SIMBILL video tour with Garrett Severen

[Music] [Music] [Music] hello everyone i'm garrett severin with north havon yachts thank you for joining us today we are aboard the beautiful nordhaven 68 symbol [Music] on the swim step of symbol we have a few features here we have glen denning shore core retrievals on the port and starboard side we have a a remote fill station for the dive compressor as well as a hot and cold shower in this locker here up a couple stairs from the swim step we have the cockpit area in the cockpit area we have storage for boat cleaning supplies just about anything you can think of this is an open cockpit so there's no built-in set tee so the idea is you have a free floating table chairs that can be stowed away in case of rough weather also here in the in the cockpit there is a stern station so you have full control of the boat back here for docking or fishing port side here there is a extra boarding door this allows easy access to the dock there's a nice boarding gate here right so now once you follow me along uh up the side walkway here up towards the four deck um on the side walkway we have a recessed life ring good safety feature we have a boarding door for the starboard side in a few of these alcoves we have fuel fill stations water filling stations that's nice because they're all tucked [Music] away [Music] so on the four deck we have uh we have our maxwell 4500 a windlass this is hydraulic so it's very powerful you don't have to worry about it failing due to low battery voltage or anything so it's a real reliable piece of equipment we've got about 400 feet of half inch high test chain attached to a 300 pound rocknut anchor on the four deck we also have room for the tender on symbol we happen to have a flex boat 15 which has a honda 60 horsepower outboard motor the davit here is a steelhead davit it's capable of lifting 2500 pounds it's telescoping and it's equipped with the spectra braid it's nice for lifting the tender underneath the davit we have room for other toys some people put a small tender here they could pull onto shore on symbol we have two hobie kayaks and up here we have access to the portuguese bridge [Music] so now we're on the portuguese bridge it's a nice protected area for when you do exterior checks on the portuguese bridge we also have storage on both the port and starboard side this is a huge locker nice amount of space also on the port and starboard sides of the portuguese bridge we have wing stations this makes uh docking a breeze here because you can see down uh the entire length of the boat on the on one side while you're here so now we're headed aft behind the pilot house [Music] and symbol is very unique it has this this mid-deck level outside kitchen which is just set up perfectly here we have a a green egg this is a smoker a barbecue we have storage drawer storage we have a melee electric barbecue as well as a fresh water sink hot and cold water and then just outboard of that in this locker here we have a uline ice maker and storage next to it so on this deck we also have this beautiful antique table dashing really does an excellent job on these tables and this has seating for six so access to the fly bridge is up this stairway through the pilot house there's a watertight hatch that allows access [Music] so the fly bridge of symbol is laid out very well we have two stid helm chairs here as well as a set tee table for dining and then we have all the redundant features that we have in the pilot house up here on the fly bridge as well so after the fly bridge we have the sun deck area this area is nice for loungers for someone who wants to enjoy the sun we also have access to the hard top there's a stainless steel folding ladder that comes down makes a you know easy access to get up high as you enter the salon of simbel you really get a feel for the vast amount of space that the open floor plan provides symbol was designed to be more on the contemporary side you can see this in the lighter color wall covering above the wainscoting the loose furniture square edges and horizontal grain veneer and what i really like about symbol and you don't see this too often on many boats is the waterfall edge on the galley countertop the spacious galley on symbol has top of the line appliances and it has ample room to work and to prep food the design of the galley allows for the chef or the person prepping the food to still be part of the group because the galley is open to the salon which is a nice feature on a boat like this the master cabin is full beam which really provides a lot of space and a lot of the space goes into storage there are numerous hanging lockers that are in the master cabin all of which are cedar lined within the master we also have banks of drawers under the bunk and on the port and starboard sides as well as a flat screen tv and all the other conveniences of home [Music] so down below on the lower level of symbol we have two cabins and two heads and a laundry room both cabins are extremely nice one has an ensuite head the other head is located in the hallway uh as well as the cabins there's also a laundry room the laundry room has a full-size appliances full-size washer and dryer which is uh which is a real nice feature on this boat [Music] [Applause] welcome to the engine room of a symbol a symbol is powered by a john deere 6135 engine it has 425 horsepower with a capacity of about 3 000 gallons of fuel symbol has a range of about 3 000 miles it's a very efficient boat symbol is also equipped with a john deere get home engine this is a john deere 4045 it's 135 horsepower it's connected to a feathering gory propeller and this will push the boat at about five knots symbol has several unique features in the engine room as you can see here there's a workbench a symbol is maintained by a professional captain as you can see he's very organized which is a good when you're out at sea you want to know exactly where everything is one other unique feature is this axi fuel polishing system this will take fuel from any of the tanks through our standard manifold system and polish the fuel and you know really give the engines and generators nice clean fuel also in the engine room we have several components such as the stabilizers as you can see here everything is easily accessible further aft we have the fuel day tank this basically acts as a large manifold and provides fuel to the two generators and the main engine and the wing engine here we have the 27.5 kw onan generator and further aft we have a torrid water heater uh this um has a heat exchanger in it and actually takes heat from the main engine um to heat the water which is uh nice because then you can turn it off underway and save some electricity while we're here next to the water heater i wanted to mention the two air conditioning pumps because that's a unique feature to this boat and if you have a problem with one air conditioning pump there's a simple valve underneath the shelf here you flip it over to the other air conditioning pump turn on a breaker and then you have cooling for the air conditioner system so now we're entering the lazarette we're going through a watertight bulkhead and watertight door the lazarette ensemble houses several systems one unique system we have here is the headhunter sewage treatment plant this takes all the sewage from the boat and cleanses it and filters it to a point where it can be discharged overboard so you don't have to store black water or sewage in your tanks symbol is also equipped with two parker water makers these units will each make about 800 gallons per day in the lazarette we also have the 21.5 kw onan generator as well as the cruise air air conditioners earlier i mentioned all the electronics on in the lazarette we're on the starboard side and here we have several compressors uh one being the dive compressor which is nice you know fill scuba tanks and you're ready to go diving here we have two outback inverters we also have two victron 100 amp battery chargers and after those those two white boxes back there those are charles isoboost transformers and what they do is they take low shore power and they boost it up to a level that's acceptable for the boat the pilot house assemble is equipped with the most up-to-date electronics many of the systems within the navigation gear are redundant which is a good safety feature while you're out at sea the pilot house is also equipped with two stid helm chairs and behind the helm chairs there's a beautiful set tee and table for your guests to sit at one unique feature you don't find this on too many nordovan 68s is that the pilot house actually has a pilot house cabin and a head as well so if you had a captain on board this is a
