hi there and welcome to the salted pepper where we cook for real life using real food and we keep it real simple and today we have America's favorite the hamburger we're gonna do it in the Ninja foodi on the airfryer function and it's so easy and these are the best burgers that I've ever tasted honest to God really they are so good so the first thing we're gonna do is form our hamburger meat so I have an 80/20 blend you know that you buy at the grocery store of ground chuck and I have let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes and that's kind of important when you're working with any kind of meat you want to bring it to room temperature so that it cooks evenly through then I have this little nifty gadget from pampered chef that really has changed my life as far as making burgers you know how it's hard to get that uniform shape well this does it for you you can either make sliders or like we're gonna do today make full-size burgers so I'm just gonna pop this off put that over to the side and using a scoop I'm gonna get about half of this mixture we're making eight ounce burgers the first one I'm gonna make is for my husband and he likes his pretty traditional so there's we're just gonna make the burger seasoned and on the outside with salt and pepper but for me I'm gonna stuff mine with some blue cheese and sauted onions let me just get this okay so there we go so I just have the ground beef in here there's no seasonings in this ground beef it is much better to season your burgers after the fact and just sprinkle the seasoning on top and I'll just use plain salt and pepper but you could use whatever you like and if you do want to throw the seasonings in because that's how you've done it please go ahead and do that but the more you work with the meat you the denser it becomes then you just don't have that really juicy burger that we're looking for so then this just fits right on top and I just press down and twist a little bit and I'm gonna get a perfectly formed burger then I will pop this right out so you can see that it's perfect and they cook up beautifully now I'm just going to take some salt and pepper now this pepper that I'm putting on first is actually a restaurants grade pepper that you can get I think tones makes it I usually pick it up at Sam's Club I have the pepper on here and I'm gonna put just sprinkle some salt on and then I'm gonna flip it now I'm keeping my hands clean because I don't want to touch the meat and then go back into the salt and pepper and I have another burger to make so I'm just gonna use this and flip it over and do the same thing on the other side just sprinkle with a pepper and sprinkle with the salt and I'm using a sea salt a fine grind sea salt which is what I love to use okay before I make the next burger I'm gonna go ahead and get this preheated so we're gonna start it and we're gonna do the air crisp function I'm gonna start the temp at 325 the reason why I chose that temperature is because I want it to start out lower so that we cook the burger through and then at the end I'm gonna bump up the temperature to 400 and crisp so let me go ahead and just turn this on and that's gonna preheat the ninja foodi and I'll just move this kind of back out of the way and we'll work on the next burger and this was a little bit different because it is stuffed so I'm going to put half this in there probably like two two-and-a-half of these little scoops is I want to press this down and get a uniform shape on the bottom so I'm gonna press it down and of course it's gonna be not nearly as thick as this cuz we're only using half the amount and then I'll put the toppings on which aren't really toppings they go in the middle but okay so I've got that press down here and now I'm gonna put my sauted onions which I did right in the ninja food e on medium low and just let them work with a little bit of butter in there I didn't even salt them because the blue cheese is gonna add the salt that I want inside of this burger and they cooked up beautifully I mean I was very pleased now I'm gonna add in my blue cheese which I had this in the freezer that's where I store it because I don't use blue cheese that much and I don't want it to go bad so I had it in the freezer and I just shaved off a little bit and by the time I put it in here it's already fall all right now let's top it with the second part of our ground beef and I'm gonna kind of try to spread it around here towards the edge a little bit because I really want to get a good seal along the edge I don't want my stuffing to leak out looks about right so I can't see any more of the onions or the blue cheese and I'm gonna go back and press these down and then I'll pop it out and we will season this one up and get them on the rack all right look at that that's perfect okay so I want to take a peek because this is stuffed I want to take a peek around all the edges and just make sure I don't see any onions sticking out or any holes and I'm also gonna kind of just tuck this in just a little bit tighter and have to do it for that one because it's not stopped all right let me go wash my hands real quick and then we'll salt and pepper this one up and get it into the airfryer okay so let's get some salt and pepper on this burger as well and then we'll pop them into the preheated ninja foodi on the airfryer mode okay perfect now we can get them in I have the rack in here on the high position and this will fit two of these eight ounce burgers perfectly there we go okay close the lid and I'm gonna just take the time down to ten we're gonna let it go for five minutes flip and then another five and then we'll flip it again and we will then bump up the heat we've been air frying at 325 for about five minutes and now I'm going to go ahead and lift the lid and I can already see how they're starting to cook here and I'm gonna carefully flip them so you want to push down on the rack to get underneath the burger and then flip it and then we'll go another five minutes all right and so we'll just give this a flip just Pat that back down that's not gonna hurt anything and hopefully that's husband's hamburger Oh and it is lucky me all right put the lid back down and we'll go five more minutes so I'm gonna stop this before it totally runs out of time and go ahead and flip and then bump up that temperature to 400 and we'll finish cooking these now this time they've had a little bit more time to set so it's a little easier to flip and let's get the husbands here perfect alright yeah they're holding together now that they've cooked a little bit more and we will put this down bump it up to 400 I'm gonna do the time to ten I don't think I'm gonna need to go that long but I just want to have it on there and then in about four minutes I'm gonna flip these and then probably cook them another two minutes until I feel like they are medium medium to medium well that's how we like our burgers if you want your burgers well-done you would probably take them the whole ten minutes to finish cooking through okay I'll let these go a little bit longer I meant to lflip them at four minutes but they've cooked about five and a half minutes and that's perfectly fine they are looking gorgeous absolutely gorgeous now I'm just gonna flip these and sort of do a little feel they still seem like they need a few more minutes so go ahead and put this down okay so let's get these off here onto our plate and we want to let them rest for about five minutes and that will give us time to toast the buns there's some cheese on here there now I did not butter these buns but you certainly could if you like and I'm just gonna set them on here it's okay that they overlap a little bit that's not gonna affect anything all right we're gonna keep it at 400 and I'm just gonna take the time up now I'm just gonna eyeball these so until they start to get a little bit crunchy what I like to see is crunchy on the inside I like the outside to stay soft all right oh yeah these look perfect okay so I'm just gonna grab this out put a little bit of mayonnaise on the bun now of course you can put any kind of condiment that you would like I'm just gonna stick with simple mayonnaise because there's so much flavor in the sauteed onions and the blue cheese all right let's grab that burger put it on there oh my now let's give it a cut so it's a perfect medium and you can see the onions and that cheese right in there take a bite wow that is a good hamburger oh it's amazing really yeah you could stuff them with anything you like so if you want to stuff with cheddar cheese or stuffing with bacon and cheddar cheese or jalapenos and and Mexican cheese anything you want and this little gadget here which I will link to below comes in handy for making burgers whether you're gonna cook them in the Ninja foodi or on the grill or on the stove it really makes it so simple and your burgers come out perfect every time so
