Dallas Cowboys their record 5 @ 1e goes also with a record of 5 and 1 so this is it for 1st place good afternoon I'm Pat Summerall with town Brookshire and Tommy I guess the first thing we ought to direct our attention to is the condition of the final Eagle running back will Byrd Montgomery well well Byrd number 31 the little package of dynamite out of Abilene Christian we pulled the groin muscle on on Friday afternoon run in the past pattern yesterday it looked bleak he came out to barely warm up much like a great thoroughbred horse you can't get back into the barn when he sees the other horses out there Wilbert montgomery will start at tailback and otherwise I think Dallas might really sit on the Eagle outfit they've been a lot of talk throughout this weekend throughout this season as a matter of fact of what a big game this is so we went right to the source first of all I asked Tom Landry how important is this game to the Cowboys he's your old teammate too well I think you know Pat playing this game as long as you do is every game is really important it gives you that psychological edge when you're able to to win it of course the game itself is big in a way but you know we have a long season when Philadelphia came to town last year they've really waffled us and Dallas beat us 28 to something and so it is important just from the lift you get but it's not the end of all games it's not the Superbowl your team ready to play I think we're ready we're in good good health and everything we're looking forward to game because I'm not really sure how good our team is really I have no idea yeah and I just like to see him play a good team and Philadelphia is a good team they ever composed a neveress to Tom Landry you had a chance to talk to your friend Dick Vermeil yeah it takes a good friend of mine and sometimes we call him the Great Santini but he gets the job done he works at take heart and and I asked him if this was a special kind of game even though he likes to look over the overview if this was a special one here's his answer well we have a chance to play a championship football team and we're striving to be a championship team ourselves and we feel if you're gonna be a champion within your division then you have to beat the division team that was a champion year before and we're ready to play we backed off a little bit this week I have a tendency to overwork them and if anything this week we backed off enough to to not use that as an excuse if we don't beat him anyway so this is what it's all about for first place in the National 118 consecutive games in which he's caught a pass Smith and the tight end is Keith triply there's the interior line all veterans except PT Perot the second-year man at left guard over Randy white Harvey Martin and Larry Cole and here's the Dallas front four and they are superb Edie too tall Jones Larry Coles in there dutton will come in to Randy white who will be doubled and tripled and Harvey sixth round pick and made a final mistake they drafted Woburn Montgomery on an Aveline Christian incredible still down Luigi Amona who is by chance dick for meals nephew it is the running back who would replace Montgomery if he can't go again it is this knee okay and remember to toll at 265 is going to come over the top this is all good clean football it is unfortunately an extremely tough game
