[Music] [Music] hey guys I hope you're ready for days of decluttering and cleaning motivation Mike and I are going to be tackling decluttering our garage our linen closet and just cleaning all over the house so give me a thumbs up if you're ready to get something done with [Music] me [Music] hey guys welcome to Jam's journey I hope you're ready we're going to be doing a lot today we have a massive garage declutter I'm going to be cleaning out my linen closet and just doing some deep cleaning of my dishwasher and just some normal cleaning all over the house but here I was starting a result of a busy tournament weekend Avery had a soft bow tournament so you know how that goes you're in and out bouncing from one thing to another so we were scrunching for Uniforms on Sunday morning after we had to wash them Saturday night so I was just kind of cleaning up and going to wipe things down before I get to more some more serious cleaning [Music] oh [Music] [Music] ah oh oh how are you guys doing I hope you're doing well I hope you're feeling good physically you're in the right mindset but I truly truly hope you're feeling good and feeling your best did you enjoy the Super Bowl so this was actually the first year that we did not hang out go to a party or like a gathering usually every year we get together with our friends and the kids play you know run around and play together the adults you know have some yummy appetizers and food and drinks and we just watch the game and socialize and this was the first year we just didn't really do much um none of our friends were really getting together because everyone else kind of had other stuff going on and then with the busy tournament I was like you know what I don't even really want to do much so Mike's best friend um he's actually a good friend of mine cuz we all went to middle school and high school together but he's a huge 49ers fan and and so Mike watched the game with just him just them two and I stayed at home with the girls and just relaxed and it was phenomenal I loved just relaxing after the busy weekend and not to mention I was able to pay way more attention to the game and the halftime show and the commercials because it was by myself so it was a nice change up but I hope you had a wonderful Super Bowl party Gathering or evening [Music] ah [Music] a [Music] so Avery's room was driving me crazy I've not been in here to clean myself I think I've said this before but I typically like to come into her room she cleans it every day that's part of her daily chores to clean pick up her room when she gets home from school if there's time after homework and reading and so she keeps it pretty clean but obviously if you have kids you know how it is they just put things in random places they collect things that are junk or need to be thrown away so I typically like to go in once a month and do my own cleaning but I don't know if I've been in here for the past couple of months for whatever reason so it was time and I also wanted to surprise her because she had a busy weekend she actually also had her last basketball game um on Saturday Saturday morning and then she had two softball games Saturday evening and then one game Sunday like late morning early afternoon so she had a busy busy weekend and I wanted to kind of surprise her and then obviously selfishly I wanted to go in and not only clean it for her but get rid of some stuff [Music] a [Music] so just chatting with you guys about random stuff going on I have been so proud of myself I'm going to give myself a little pat on the back because if you've been around for a while you guys know that I am a cardio junkie I love my cardio I love pushing my body to the max I love being drenched in sweat I love running in the summer and I've really been focused on lifting weights lately and I'm going to tell you why I've been super motivated to actually make that sh sh and do more weightlifting so really quickly right here I am deep cleaning my dishwasher I try to do this monthly it's so important to keep your dishwasher clean um so what I do is I take out that little filter and then that little like those little pieces there's two pieces that come out of my dishwasher I you're going to see me scrub them with a toothbrush a cleaning toothbrush just like an a toothbrush I use just for cleaning and then um you're going to see me use the steam shot hand steamer to get around the sides and then then I'm going to use the aresh tablets to run a cleaning cycle and I'm going to put these parts that I'm cleaning myself back in the dishwasher with the cleaning cycle and it just does a phenomenal job of getting all of those parts in the entire dishwasher deep clean so I try to do this monthly um the aresh tablets are linked below with all of the other cleaning products and tools but um I'll give you guys a little bit of break and I'll just talk a little bit more about my weightlifting Journey why I made the switch and why I'm really motivated to keep doing [Music] [Music] it [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so I was saying I've always love cardio but I would say in the last 6 months or so my body has felt different and I haven't gained weight haven't lost weight my body just feels just not as strong I don't feel like I'm gaining the results that I did previously from running so I knew that I needed to lift more but that kind of gave me the motivation and the push I know as women age they start to lose muscle mass and I've heard how important as we get closer to Perry menopause menopause how important it is to lift weights I've probably been sticking to a consistent routine about 3 days a week for about four weeks and I can already feel the difference but if you're around my age just give it a thought even if you're doing something for 10 minutes lifting weights has just I've I've only been doing it for about a month and it has already changed my body I can feel the difference in how my body moves how it reacts and I just think that where I am right now in my life I think weightlifting is going to be the top activity for me and I don't know just give it a [Music] try [Music] he so if you guys have been around for a while our garage Even in our old house moving into a new house with a bigger garage has always gotten so cluttered you know part of it is we do have some extra stuff that we're not currently using but it's like Avery's old bikes that the twins will use and you know items like that Mike is Avery's softball coach so he has a lot of the equipment here so we just have a lot of stuff and we've just never been able to get our garage properly organized and we always just in the old house were like oh once we get the bigger garage it'll be fine well now that we're in a three-car garage and it's still a mess I'm like okay no the problem was not the smaller garage the problem was we never properly organized it so I told Mike we're getting out there we're going to declutter step one to organizing a space is you have to declutter and find out what are you keeping in that space and then once you know what you're keeping in there then you can go and find the proper organizers for that room or that space so we're starting early it was a nice ni day I think it was in the high 40s it was sunny so it was kind of warm for February so we said let's get in there and declutter and then we're going to go shopping for some organizers so step one in this process was like I said coming in getting rid of the boxes the garbage the stuff we knew we needed to get rid of some of this stuff will be donating like that mattress you see back there we'll be donating that and then a few of those boxes or some things in those boxes we'll be donating but then right there you see all of those bikes and then we have like soft B equipment so we also try to group things together so like okay we need a bike organizer we need something for all of the softball stuff so like all of that stuff we set there because it will help us know what organizers we need but what Mike and I did was when we decluttered we kind of went through and we kind of talked about all of this stuff and we said okay what could we do with this should we put it up on the wall could we put it somewhere else and we just spent the time decluttering and then talking about where we wanted to put all all of this stuff and then now we're going to spend some time and we're not going to rush this project we are going to spend some time and find the right organizers for each item that we have in [Music] here [Music] he [Music] okay so now I was decluttering our linen closet and if you guys have been around for a while I organized this closet for the first time last summer and so what I hope that you can see is that you know real life happens right it's like I know a lot of times you know whether it's like in the garage to clutter a video you most of the time we whether you're looking at a YouTube video or an Instagram video you're seeing someone go in and organize from you know start to finish all in one video and it looks easy it looks seamless but there's so much more that goes into it so I want you to know if it takes you a long time to declutter and organize for a project that's normal it's also normal to completely declutter and organize a a a space and love it and have it be perfect but then it to get decluttered again because when you're living your life that's what happens especially if you're living with other people kids and husbands and all of that so my goal here was to go in and red declutter reorganize the other thing to this is when I decluttered and organized this closet back in the summer our basement was getting finished so there were things that I knew I would want to put in the basement storage like in a bin or something that we don't really use very often like travel like Beach Travel stuff we live hours away from the closest True ocean so that's more of like a big vacation that we don't need in our linen closet so we had stuff in here that I knew that we didn't need to be in here so that was that was another part of why the the closet got so decluttered or cluttered because we had just had stuff in here that I knew didn't go in here but wow what a difference and it felt good so red decluttering is really really important and it's something that you just don't do once you do multiple times [Music] go [Music] he [Music] so there's even something here you know we have a good amount of beach towels but some of the beach towels are like the really big extra- large beach beach towels that we like to take if we are going to the beach which again doesn't happen very often but there's something that I want to keep so that was something I was going to get a bin for all of our po beach stuff um and then just keep like the normal beach towels pool towels um that the kids use like if they go to a friends's house to swim if we go to my parents or if we have the slip and slide out you know we have a not a baby pool but like a smaller pool all of that so I wanted to keep those main towels in here and then put the rest downstairs and then here I was just going to clean clean up Avery's bathroom it was one of those nights which doesn't happen very often I'll tell you I have a hard time sitting still and Mike was Gone with the twins cuz he coaches their basketball team so he was gone Avery was off um doing I think she was reading or she was playing Roblox with a friend and so I was just kind of like sitting around and I was going to go read a book myself but her bathroom was driving me crazy so I was like you know what I'm going to go in here and just do like a quick basic [Music] clean [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] all right so as I'm finishing up cleaning her bathroom let's talk good week and bad week to the week so I would say the bad week something I've just kind of fell off this week and I don't know why and there's really no explanation I feel like I'm pretty in tune with my body I going through infertility when you struggle with infertility like I have or you have PCS which is a hormonal disorder your body is out of whack for a multitude of reasons I feel like I have a really good handle on my body and I can tell when if something's wrong I usually know why like the root of the problem but this week I've just felt slightly off and usually almost 99% of the time that is tied to my cycle I'm about ready to start I'm around the time of starting I'm usually kind of a little rough you know during that time and that's not that time of the month so I'm not really sure why I feel off I'm not tired I'm getting good sleep nutrition workouts are all great and I just feel a little bit blah for no particular reason um so I just wanted to share that with you because I don't know we all don't have good bad we don't all have good days we all don't have good weeks um and there's really not much I can complain about so I feel a little bit guilty but I've just been feeling a little bit blah lately so hopefully next week is a little bit better [Music] I'm back for some more cleaning I want to kind of tie everything up for the week um Mike's finishing up putting the twins to bed Avery's jamming out to some Taylor Swift and putting some clothes to bed to some clothes away it's been a long day and I'm going to do a little bit of Cleanup in our room I worked out up here put that stuff away kind of make our bed reset the bed just it's just more comfy to get in your bed when it's made do that I want a vacuum and mop um do a few other things downstairs so that's what we're going to do hopefully you want to join me if you have a few things you want to do let's do this together you guys have a little if you guys have a few tasks that you want to complete that you don't really want to come do it with me we will get it done together I really wanted to get it right trying to find some balance in my life but I never really put up a fight didn't follow my dreams and now I'm losing sleep what if I lost TCH I'll talk about my good week here in a minute but Mike and I also along with the garage organization we are kind of making our mission here in the next couple of weeks to hopefully nail down the gym equipment that we want for downstairs so I can really take my weightlifting to the next level level and so he can kind of do it so he doesn't have to go to the gym as often so stay tuned for that hopefully it's sooner rather than [Music] later I need to wash this rug this is exactly why I wanted washable rugs for that reason alone I feel like I was never hurt all I want is to be love what if I lost touch what if I'll never get it right I try to follow my heart but I lost it somehow wish that someone could say I say okay so good week to my week is I guess tying into what I was saying earlier in the video just sticking to a r routine of weightlifting I think you know a lot of us can make goals and I think you make a a goal but then you have to actually make take the steps to work towards that goal and my goal was to get stronger lift weights more not focus on as much cardio and I was kind of dreading it because like I said I love my cardio and but I know myself I know how I operate and I'm the type of person that once I get into a routine give me like two weeks of something then it's part of my routine and I love it so I knew I just had to be consistent stick with it for at least 2 weeks and I am kind of starting to love it and if you guys are just kind of confu or you're not really sure where to start you want to work out there are so many resources on YouTube or Instagram that's where I'll either get my own resources on Instagram and create my own workout routines or just type in um workouts on YouTube and they're free they're you can do them in the comfort of your own home even if you're doing something for five minutes work your way up yes you're going to be sore in the the beginning but no that that will get easier as well so I'm as proud of myself for trying something a little newer and sticking with it long term I've lifted weights in the past but I've never stuck with it long term so I am just proud of myself it's been a good week cuz I feel stronger I can see my body reacting and getting better way like I'm seeing way more results than I ever have from cardio so good week is just proud of myself and feeling good about myself for trying something new and sticking with it [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] SC the [Music] SC [Music] SC on to [Music] me [Music] so this Hydro steam this is Abyssal cross wave with Hydro steam was perfect because the floors were extra dirty from the garage declutter that Mike and I did as like we were coming in and out like there were stuff we found out in the garage that we needed to be brought in so we were walking in and out with our shoes on which we almost never do so I could just tell that the floors were pretty dirty so I was using this I was tired so I was using this instead of my separate mop and vacuum I just wanted to save time and I wanted to use the steam mode so this is a wet dry vacuum so it vacuums and mops at the same time and there's also a steam mode option so you can steam and vacuum at the same time it's safe for hardwood typically a steam mop is not safe for hardwood but this one is so it did such a good job and the floors were really really dirty when I was done but stay tuned because Mike and I will be actually finding organizers in organizing our garage I don't know when that's going to be because I want to get it I want to do it right I don't want to rush and I feel like if we rush it's not going to be right not to mention garage organizers are not cheap because they're usually heavy duty you're hanging them on the walls so I just want to we want to get it right so we're going to sit down here soon um and really spend the time but I will bring you along and I will show you what we get I will let you know what works maybe what doesn't work um but yeah stay tuned for that as well as some spring cleaning I think here in March that's when I'm going to start spring cleaning I didn't spring clean last year since we had just moved into the house so I'm ready this house is ready for a little bit of room by room deep [Music] cleaning [Music] now it's time to do the dreaded cleaning of the cleaning tool I hate this part and I know you guys too you guys have asked me about it but it's essential in keeping your cleaning tools working properly and not to mention if you let it sit it's going to smell really bad and it's going to be hard to get that smell out so as much as you don't want to do it I've had some of you guys say that you hate using yours because of that reason but here's my thinking I don't want to clean that right now at all either however if I was vacuuming and mopping it would have taken me longer like it takes me the wet dry vacuums whether it's the hydro steam or the the ey floor too that saves me time even when I'm cleaning the machines and if vacuum and mopped separately so I know it's a pain um and you're kind of thinking well I don't have to clean up my mop bucket but ultimately it's saving you time and then not to mention I think some people don't think they have to clean their their um their mop but I always do um like I don't scrub it and it obviously isn't as hard to clean as one of the wet dry vacuums but I do after I mop every single time I do like a quick wash out with some Dawn power wash or the Jaws dish spray and then I'll spray some disinfectant and then let it air dry so I'm still wiping out and disinfecting my mop after I'm done using it but anyways just wanted to say that I feel you it's not fun to clean these but it's essential I try to force myself just to do it um as soon as I'm done because if I wait until later I probably won't do it and I have multiple times waited till the next morning and I just know that's not good so I'm going to force myself and clean it right now [Music] watch [Music] I'm done it feels so good to be done this week I don't know what it is I'm kind of dragging um and it's really not that type of the month usually when it's that time of the month I know that I'm always dragging and not feeling it it's not that time of the month and I just not feeling it this week so I don't know what's going on but feels good to have the house somewhat clean and decluttered a little bit it feels good and I'm honestly excited to start looking at organizers for the garage this has been a space in our houses like even in our old house that has just always been a pain and we would clutter it and kind of organize it and then it would just go back to normal it's just been a cycle and it's just one of those spaces that I think Mike and I are both just tired of it constantly getting messy so I'm kind of excited um I'm not sure when we will actually tackle that to be honest with you um April gets March gets kind of busy for us and then like early part of April and not to mention it's still pretty cold here I mean we're probably looking at it probably won't even be be in the 50s consistently until mid to late April so I don't see us doing much before mid to late April but that'll give me some time to slowly find all these organizers and it will feel good when it gets done like I said I just don't want to rush it I just want to make sure I do it right so stay tuned for that um but
