hey guys welcome to tactical riflemen this week we're gonna talk a little bit about shotgun ammunition different types of shotgun ammunition in an effort to kind of educate on options to use for home defense now in later videos we're gonna go all through home defense the pros and cons of m4 pistol actually rifle pistol or shotgun in the use of home defense today I'm just gonna focus on ammunition and options you have for your shotgun if that's the only firearm in the house that you have now what I've got here 12-gauge buckshot this is going to give you kind of a tighter pattern in any kind of indoor scenario now birdshot on the other hand it's going to widen up as it exits the barrel of the gun giving you that larger spread now it's great for birds how's it going to do in your drywall your home house gonna do through hollow core door definitely it matters when it comes to the consistency of the material that your house is made of moving along down the line a couple options here your slug options that's going to give you just one big ball again something to consider will be the material that your house is made of you have to be aware of what goes what is beat lies behind the door when you're shooting something now if the threat emerges and it's essentially alone meaning they don't have one of your family members in a hostage situation around the neck I guarantee you with a shotgun you could go in there save the day save your loved one from whatever threats engaging or them Nick your old lady in the in the earlobe and you're never gonna hear the end of it it's just it the shotgun is what it is it's gonna it sounds cool getting racked behind the door who essentially in an escalation of force scenario if you go up and if your loved one holds that holds your personal shotgun gives it a good rack hello I think whoever is behind the door is gonna know what's up but in absence of that if you do have to actually engage someone who's entered your home unwillingly or I'm not unwillingly but uninvited you're going to want to worry about the type of ammunition that you're using moving down the line there's a couple breaching options you can use for breaching doors breaching different entrances it'll hit pretty well the to the to Don down the line are more of the less lethal brand now less lethal meaning are they absolutely lethal at close distance I think you could safely say yes these are coming in fact coming out of a firearm pretty quickly it and they will do some damage damage at close range but they're labeled as less than lethal now here we've got just a blank there's arguments against whether a blank can kill an an unprotected human I've seen what they can do to doors it's gonna do some damage at a very very close range of blank shotgun rounds gonna they're gonna feel it at the end here if your shotgun comes with a choke basically what this thing is going to do is going to screw on the end of your barrel and as the bullets are bouncing down that hollow bore as it comes to the end with a choke it's going to tighten that group up potentially pushing those rounds a little bit closer together it's tightening up your pattern that's pretty much it guys as you can see from the target behind me it's a pretty large spread you can put off with practice with the shotgun and training with the shotgun you can put a lot of rounds in a tight space and a quick amount of time can you defend your house with them absolutely are they optimal we'll talk about that in some other videos that's all I got for you guys today if you like the video definitely subscribe to the channel hit that Bell notification button as well so you can be alerted of all the new videos and content that we are providing until next time guys if you liked this video make sure to LIKE comment and subscribe also make sure you follow us on Facebook Instagram and Twitter so you don't miss out on anything
