[Music] hello beautiful people welcome back to my channel Samantha pull-up in today's video I want to share with you my two-and-a-half here silver hair journey I want to show you the ups and downs going from color treated hair to a big job to now fully embracing my natural self or hair my silver hair journey started in 2018 in the month of February to be exact the last time I dyed my hair was probably three weeks or four weeks prior to this video that was the last time permanent hair color touched my hair and I remember the last time I colored my hair I was so fed up I was so done I was tired I was 15 years old when I saw my first self a hair strands it didn't bother me because I had a few but in my early 20s 21 22 I came to a point where I started fighting myself a hair strands I started dyeing my hair because I hated myself first I thought it was ugly I thought it didn't suit me so every six to eight weeks I used the permanent hair color until I decided nope I don't want to do this no more I hope that this video will inspire whether you are in the beginning of your journey the middle if you need to start or you're already completely natural silver use this video as an inspiration because I know the struggle this was my best decision ever and I hope it will be yours as well April 2018 to into myself a hair journey I was loving this journey and since the last hair dye I knew that nobody is gonna stop me I'm gonna do this for myself also at this point of my journey I knew that transitioning from college with hair to silver hair was not my thing I didn't like the transition and face and I already knew from the beginning of my journey that I wanted to do a big job I was confident and I was rocking this hair but I didn't like the different colors in my hair I had the silver hair on the roots the color treated hair and then the yellowish brownish color in between the silver and the color treated hair and Oh nope I did a lot of washing goals and I think I felt more confident with the washing goes then with any other hair style this was the last time I did a twist out and the results were amazing by the way but I also remembered that I was so done with transitioning and I couldn't wait to do the big job this was the day of the big job I did a last washing goal because I thought it was easier to do the big chop on a washing go I did the washing go in the morning and in the afternoon I did the big job it felt so amazing and so liberating this was probably the first time in my life I cut so much hair of after that I asked my mom to shave my hair the next day I woke up and thought it wasn't short enough and also I wanted some more tape rate cuts so this is my hair now you know I want to play with it a little bit more and maybe after I don't know after three months I will cut it again and but all the brown parts of so this is weird the struggle was real first let me say that I loved the shape I love the fact that my hair was short and you could see my facial features more I love that but I didn't knew how to style my short tapered cut for some reason the washing goal didn't work on my hair also with a brown color treated hair on top I didn't like that but I didn't want it to go shorter because this was the first time in my life I was wearing a tapered cut and having my hair this short after my hair grew a little bit longer I discovered finger coils and oh this was my favorite hair style during this time I knew the right products to use how to finger coil if there was a finger coil competition going on I would definitely be in the top three this is what I did often and I didn't mind the color treated hair on top I thought it was kind of cute with the finger coils I also experimented with perm rods it was cute it was cute but my finger coils that was my go-to this was also the time where I cut all of the color treated hair so I was completely natural it was months after my big job when I decided to do a wash and go again and I was amazed I felt in love with a washing go mind you this was my go-to hairstyle when I had color treated hair so now I could do the washing go again I figured out that I had to do the washing go on soaking wet hair and also the amount of product was much more than I used on my color treated hair as my hair grew longer I could do much more hairstyles and at this point I knew what worked on my hair I could do a hype of and I was so happy with this type of I could do side braids ponytails and this was the time where I really felt in love with myself for natural hair I finally figured out how to work with my hair I knew exactly which product worked on my hair my hair loved a gel consistency I embraced the frizz and the single white strands sticking out I was just in tone with myself a hair I was one with myself a hair sometimes I do get the question if I miss my color treated hair or if I miss my long hair and the answer is no I feel that every face in this silver hair journey was meant to be and was preparing me to get to the stage where I fully embrace myself a hair I learned from every phase the transitional phase the big chop phase even though it wasn't fun it taught me to be patient and it taught me to not give up I have a strong wheel and when I start with something I need to finish it from the beginning of my journey I told myself Sam you don't know where you're gonna be two years from now you might gonna love your hair so start now and that's what I did I listen to my intuition my inner voice and I know for a fact that is God God was talking to me I did what God told me to do October 2018 and did the big job and almost two years later now I'm making this video hopefully giving you the spirit of encouragement I hope you've learned something from this video and use this as an inspiration you're not alone I've been there but you will overcome not only in this self ahead journey but also in life whatever you're going through right now you will overcome have faith pray I love you guys you have supported me from the beginning I really appreciate that thank you so much until the next time bye [Music]
