hello beautiful people welcome back to my channel Samantha Pollak one of the most frequently asked questions on my social media is how did my hair grow so fast in today's video I'm gonna tell you all about my hair growth I'm gonna give you tips and tricks how I went from a tapered cut to armpit length in two years before I start I wanna say that everybody's hair is different and everybody's hair grows on their own rate so don't be discouraged this is the way my hair grows one thing I feel that people don't talk about when it comes to hair growth videos is genetics for as long as I can remember my parents always had take care my mom especially her hair was really take in this picture I think she had braids but I remember a picture when she was 13 or 14 years old her hair was so thick and so long my grandma from my daddy side she had thick and long hair as well and I looked a lot like my grandmother not only the skin color but the eyes the hair and as I mentioned in my previous video my grandmother was also pretty young when she started to gray so depending on your ancestry genetics you can use peanut butter on your hair and your hair will grow fast since the age of 3 my hair was long full thick and I never had a problem with hair growth even when I colored my hair if I took care of my hair properly it would grow fast it was moisturized and the ends were healthy that being said it doesn't mean that I don't have to take care of my hair because even I have struggled with my hair but I have found a regimen that suits my lifestyle and suits my hair the best I did the big job in October 2018 almost two years ago if it comes to tips and tricks for healthy hair the first thing I want to talk about is moisture one thing that's important in my regimen is water making sure that my hair is damped or soaking wet when I do a washing go when I do a twist out and because my hair dries fast I love to use a spray bottle but this has always been the first step in my regimen it doesn't matter if I had at apricot or armpit length or if I'm gonna have waist length I always start with water I always get the question how do you get your hair moisturized and I'm thinking shower what's ha the next thing I want to talk about is co-washing shampooing conditioning i've always mentioned this in my videos I go wash my hair twice a month and I also shampoo and condition my hair twice a month so on the weeks when I don't go wash my hair I shampoo and condition my favorite co-wash is by Eden Body Works I love this co-wash I'm not a person who reads the ingredients I just use whatever works on my hair sometimes I use this cleansing fighting by s a.m. but sometimes I also use a co-wash by karekare and if my hair disagree with a product I don't use it that's how simple it is when it comes to shampoo and conditioner this one by Brio Gio is amazing to be honest when it comes to shampoo the only thing that's important to my hair is if it got a little bit sleep and it connects my hair if it strips my hair I'm not gonna use it but for conditioners that's a different ballgame I need sleep sleep sleep my hair needs to feel like butter when I apply conditioners on my hair on the days when I feel that my hair is too dry and it needs extra love and attention I will use a deep conditioner or a mask this deep conditioner by Camilla Rose is definitely a must try maybe once a month or once in six weeks when I feel like it I might use a steamer I'm trying to do this more often but I'm not gonna lie I don't do this every week or every month i steam my hair when my hair needs it and especially when my ends are dry everything I do in my regimen is because I listen to my hair if I feel that my hair and its moisture and water is not enough I might use a deep conditioner if I feel that my ends are dry I might steam my hair or my trim my hair my favorite deep conditioner of all times is this s IM hydration elation this one this is my absolute favorite on the days on the days on the days on the days that my hair is a hot mess on the days when you feel like you want to cut your hair try this free shampoo by African pride this is an amazing product to detangle your hair it feels like a gel it has a lot of sleep and it makes detangling so much easier and it might seems that I detangle my hair pretty harsh but I know what my hair can handle also sometimes I will start from the ends to the roots but sometimes I will start from the roots and work my way down especially in the back I don't start at the ends I always start at the roots [Music] and this is my shed hair on this my hair is tangled let's talk about products since a lot of you asked about the products I use this is a question that is really hard to answer because I use different products all the time I might stick with a few products for a while but if it doesn't work I will switch it up when I had the tapered cuts I love to use skin too coconut curling cream with the moisturizing twist and lock gel and essential oils by Caracara I love to do the finger curls and this worked amazingly on my hair my curls were so defined after a while I used karekare moisturizing curling cream and Caracara essential oils because I wanted to use two products instead of three always like that and this was a good combo as well the method that I used and been using since I started my curly hair journey is the lcao method liquid cream oil sometimes I use a leave-in conditioner a cream and oil and sometimes I just use a cream and oil it depends on what style I do or what I feel like using my journey and regimen is all about testing products mix and match seeing what my hair loves sometimes it's a yay sometimes it's a no when my hair grow longer and finger curls were taking so much of my time I started doing my washing goes again what worked great on my hair back then was caracal leave-in conditioner the foaming rep lotion and the oil my hair was in love with this combo and I think especially the foam because I also did go with the blueberry blitz leave-in conditioner from curls and in combination with the foam and it worked perfect as well now that my hair is getting longer I need a gel consistency I'm still figuring out what products work best on my hair right now but I know that I need a product with morholt I don't like how a gel makes my hair feel so I need a combination of a gel and leave-in conditioner the blue berry base line works great on my hair but I want amazing results so I haven't found the perfect combination yet another tip I want to give you is put your hair in puffs and bonds protective hairstyles if you want your hair to grow healthy I often put my hair in the hypothenuse well yay the final final tip is how do you protect your hair at night when my hair started to grow I used to put my hair in mini pineapples and I put my hair in a satin scarf [Music] now that my hair is growing I put my hair in one pineapple or I just wrap it in a satin scarf I also sleep on a satin pillowcase but that's just because I love the cool effect on my face not really for my hair but do whatever is comfortable for you and that's all of my hair growth tips I hope you enjoyed this video and learned something new as always please make sure to subscribe join the family until the next time bye
