My Horrible NYC Apartment

oh we are stuck on the roof what are we gonna do so we have a situation are you excited to make more videos with me in the future now that this one's going so well today's gonna be kind of a crazy day and that's because today we're making a video for someone else's youtube channel which involves showing them the three cheapest apartments anywhere in manhattan that meeting starts in an hour so we have to leave soon and the other thing i want to try to do is to fix this green skin that these lights are giving me all right did it work still present that was a waste of time and money and now i'm gonna be late so guys i'm showing some of the smallest departments in town to one of the biggest names in town eric conover dude i'm actually really excited likewise man thanks for being very uh very excited to see what you have in store for us today [Music] it's surprisingly pretty nice for the size the fact that there's sunlight the ceilings are high kitchen is new the others that we're gonna see are much smaller than this but this one it's good you got the three windows you could fit the bed here like you were saying it's it's not horrible that's the truest thing there's somebody in the apartment like that's good place number one success let's get out of here [Music] [Music] i haven't been in a car in forever it's nice right it is nice it's better than the subway we're going uh up pretty high how high we going the d floor we're not on the deep floor we're on the east ward is this even allowed i mean i guess it's the least size for a bedroom across the space almost look i don't even know what to say go look at the bathroom not with your stuff like i'm a large human but this is a small this is the shower yeah okay where's the light for this place uh it's in there somewhere there it is i've never actually been on the roof here let's let's try it dude i don't know if there's an alum i mean what's gonna happen let's go all right the alarm doesn't work oh wow look at that right there's the trade tower right there you can see one world trade i don't know if that's legal it's like a collapsed antenna or something that's awesome you didn't know about that though no i didn't know oh all right so like idiots we are stuck on the roof what are we gonna do that's not a good idea that looks like a terrible ending i'm gonna get skin cancer look it's bright there's no shade glasses either there's no way right i don't want to break it i'm not that i can so here's the problem that's the only way out onto the roof and we didn't realize that there's no latch to like let us back in this is mcdougall street and it's a long way down at least the view of the empire state building is nice over here there is a fire escape but i mean those just lead to people's apartments that we don't have access to so even if we go down the fire escape there's still no way into the building without going through a random stranger's apartment yeah i don't know about that that's a major just call the cops get arrested yeah not today guys i'm sorry it happens though i'd rather i'd rather see the view and get trapped than not know it existed are you excited to make more videos with me in the future now that this one's going so well actually yeah man this is the most interesting that's happened in a long time eric you have millions of followers ask them for help so we have a situation oh jeez this sucks i need a favor [Music] yes no hold it open hold it open oh dude thank you so much no problem oh man it's happened to me too before so guys this is alex alex works for me and i think he deserves a raise or something called me at the perfect time too thank you alex you've saved our butts [Music] so it turns out we were trapped on the roof for so long that eric had to go get his dog so we're just in front of the last place right here on st mark's waiting for him there he is oh boy oh he's a good dog so this building's actually pet friendly is it [Music] so initial reaction smallest place what do you think every single place we've walked into i've been kind of speechless especially that last one but i can put my arms quite literally yeah i'm missing like what three inches there i'm a large person but this is a small apartment this is a tiny apartment diego's up there getting it's not a two-bedroom people don't know about this level could you rent out that corner back there i would i can't believe we were able to fit a dog in here big dog too what makes this building interesting is the bathroom situation they're in the hallway this one's a half bath this one is a standing shower shared between about 10 apartments could you have ever lived here i could do it because when i moved here man i was crazy i wanted to just make it happen so bad and yeah i would have lived in a place like this and you did it too i did it too yeah i did it too i lived here that's right this exact place i lived here in 2007 and at the time it made sense i had the budget to either have a room in an apartment with roommates but this was my kitchen i was able to make peanut butter sandwiches and tuna sandwiches mac and cheese as well in the microwave it is possible i can't cook anyways and i spent all my time going out and hanging out in the city i was really never here i was just here to sleep and then go to work that was it dude the star the show right here diego nice to meet man nice to meet you cash awesome man you got it dude that was fun when i lived here i never thought that i would be back here making a video i remember sitting here and like not really knowing what i was gonna do with my life i didn't know what i was doing but i was in the right environment i was in the city i wasn't overpaying on rent and i was where i needed to be to figure it out within about six months of moving in here i became a full-time real estate agent and i think that living in this tiny little apartment with no kitchen and no bathroom totally changed my life had i never been here things might have turned out way different than they did there were some years where i doubted whether living here was the right move but now at this point i totally
