Really glad he was wearing safety goggles
so very lucky to be alive. the story of what happens after is way more graphic/gruesome than the actual explosion video itself.
Was expecting just to go in and watch the explosion and close the video but the guy tells a great story and is truly lucky to be alive.
Holy crap that's gnarly. Pierced his lung and lacerated jugular, that must have been absolutely unimaginably horrifying for his father to watch him almost die.
Fuck me those are stiches in his throat. Dude's lucky to be alive.
Jesus to strip threads that thick the thing had to be a seriously hot round. Guy was lucky not to have his hand blown off.
Explosion happens at 4:25 in the video
dude knows how to tell a great story
I was really surprised by the apparently low safety tolerance of the rifle. 55k psi is normal operating pressure (that's supposed to work 100s or 1000s of times over the life of the weapon) and somewhere between that and 85k is catastrophic failure with a high chance of operator death? So 1.55x or less? I understand that you want your bullet leaving the barrel at maximum possible velocity, but damn.
