[Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] you [Music] is [Music] good morning church family just want to wish each and every one of us that's uh joining you today joining us today uh for a happy sabbath we thank you uh whether you're tuning in via facebook youtube uh thank you for joining us today we'll be reading the scripture reading from sam's 150 the new international version and uh i'm about to read in your hearing praise the lord praise god in his century praise him in his mighty heavens praise him for his acts of power [Music] praise him for his surpassing greatness praise him with the song of the trumpet praise him with the hob and the lord praise him with the tremble and dancing praise him with the strings and pipe praise him with the clash of symbols praise him with the resounding sentence let everything that has breath praise the lord praise the lord [Music] there's a lot of things to be grateful for and to give thanks and praise for and i've seen it in my personal life each and every day whether it's driving on the streets so you might be seconds away from an accident an accident takes place and you see the police and the fire ambulance right in front of you and at that instant i just give thanks i just give praise like because i said god if it was not for you holding me back on my appointment or whatever it might be i might think of it as a mishap it's like oh i'm going to be late to an event or or this happened to me but those little seconds prior to that accident whatever it might be um god he actually saved me you know that could have been me you know in in that predicament and you've seen on the news uh someone getting shot or anything like that is like bullets have no eyes and it's a lot of things you know we take for granted and we don't really see you know the true extent you know and sometimes some of us even me myself you know i i i question like why did this happen to me you know but then i i look back and i see like oh it's for this reason you know it's it could have been worse you know you saved me from something uh a really bad accident or whatever it might be but i just want to give thanks and i want you all to join with me for prayer whether you're driving if you can pull aside to a safe spot and join me for prayer [Music] that gracious and mighty father god we want to thank you god for your mercy and your grace [Music] we thank you for sparing our lives god a lot of things could have happened to us that you stopped [Music] and we just want to reflect on your mercy and your grace father god we thank you [Music] for putting people in our lives to continue to encourage us and guide us [Music] because we all need some type of guidance god we thank you for health we thank you for strength we thank you for a sound mind [Music] there god in the midst of what's going on all around us whether it might be disease [Music] violence depression chaos in the world [Music] there god we know that you hold the key you have all answers and you could solve anything there god specifically right now the times are different and for kids grown folks a lot of people it's hard for them to adjust the lack of social interaction contact it's taken a toll on some of your people father god and some of them are struggling with depression father god we ask of you to touch each and every one of them that's struggling father god speak into their life father god and if they may be feeling lonely stressed out give them that encouragement father god [Music] that there's no mountain too big enough there's no obstacle too big enough that you can solve father god that you could conquer and you conquer death on the cross father god [Music] so please speak life into each and every one of us father god give us the strength to keep pushing forward [Music] dear god the individuals that are struggling with disease and ailments illnesses acts of view to touch them heal them from the inside out father god jesus from the crunch of their head to the soul of their feet heal them their god touch every cell in their body and you make it brand new father god jesus [Music] take away that pain whether it's physical spiritual or emotional father god take away that pain from them and give them that peace of mind there god i also want to pray for the sick and shouting [Music] all the names that are listed you know who they are continue to provide continue to to bless them father god [Music] if there's ever a time they need you father god it sure is now and there god i just want to lift you up and give you the thanks the honor the glory and the praise [Music] for everything that you have done for us most importantly the fact that you sacrifice your life [Music] and you laid it up on the cross and you died for us father god you die for our sins father god that we may be saved in your kingdom just want to thank you god for all of the blessings the seen the unseen and the blessings to come just want to thank you thank you god this is my prayer in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit in the name of jesus thank you god amen [Music] hallelujah hallelujah glory be to god good morning church family it is tithe and offering time here at our church and there is a very popular scripture that we like to quote second timothy 1 verse 7 which says for god has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and a sound mind but when it comes to giving often times a spirit of fear seems to hover around there are times when we may actually be afraid to give but you see god wants us to get past our fear of giving we view it as giving something up but god god views it as an outpouring of a generous and loving heart when we give we are not just giving up something but we are actually investing into the kingdom of god you see when we give we are able to help share the gospel of christ when we give it helps us to be able to put food on the tables of individuals who are suffering when we give we are able to reach our community in so many different ways when we give it allows us to show the love of christ to people who may not have ever experienced his power when you give you are investing into the kingdom and look at it this way if a farmer has a ton of seed where will it do him the most good in the barn or out there in the field if he keeps it in the barn it will never increase as a matter of fact it may actually decrease because moisture might start to affect the seed rats may get in and start eating up the the seed but if the farmer plants his seed the seed will grow and a harvest of more abundance will be produced the more the seed sows the more the more he souls the more he produces and it's that very same principle that we are talking about today you see fear torments fear causes you to hoard instead of giving and you may be afraid that what you give to god may not be replaced but you have to remember that you're returning to god what's already his you see satan steals you know john 10 10 tells us that satan comes to steal kill and destroy so don't allow fear to stop you from doing the will of god and brothers and sisters and now more than ever we need you to continue in your giving efforts you see the number of people that we feed at our pantry continues to grow continues to increase okay and i know that financial times are hard for some of us but god is god and god's promises are not based on the economy of the united states and as we prepare to give this morning look at ways look at different ways in which you could come into alignment with the word of god for those who may have been giving 10 maybe you could give 11 or increase your giving to 12 but no matter the way that you decide to give just know that is going to the lord so take heart in knowing that your generosity is honoring god and it is impacting lives and impacting eternity now let us pray dear father as i begin to pray right now oh god that spirit of fear has to leave father god we ask that you bind up the spirit of fear at this time o god allow us to have courage to be obedient allow us to have courage to do what you've called us to do o god give us the strength that we need lord god to continue this walk of faith and lord god help us to build up your kingdom help us oh god to be more and more like you each and every day so we thank you lord for those who have given this morning and those who will continue to give in the future we know oh god that what we give you will multiply so we give you the honor this morning we praise your another easter are you excited about easter i don't know about you but i am so excited because the foundation of what we believe is set on this day amen hallelujah and so we thank god for the contemporaries but sometimes we have to reach back to the old to the hymns of the church amen and so i don't think it will be more appropriate of time to reach back to a song like there is [Music] [Applause] beneath that blood [Music] guilty [Music] thy guilty stays [Music] benedict [Music] you know we teach our kids a lot of things right but we have to remember to teach them songs like this hallelujah at the cross at the cross where i first saw the light and the burdens of my heart rolled away [Music] and now i don't know about you but that song has gotten me through and what about songs like this draw me knees near a blessed lord to the cross where to thy precious bleeding signs to thy precious bleeding times [Music] [Music] blood and water straight down to thy precious [Music] please sign [Music] i know it was the blood for me one day when i was lost jesus died on the cross and i know it was the blood for me all right i i guess we'll just go on to the contemporaries but we got to bless god for the hymns of the church hallelujah come on just bless him right there for the hymns of the church hallelujah where our ancestors pinned hallelujah their trials they knew and want alex comes i need you to just lift your hand and just thank him that he resurrected every other god died and they never got up huh but our god lives and he seated on the throne [Music] come on just bless him just give him 15 seconds of your words hallelujah [Music] you're alive [Music] and you're living in me and you're living in me yes [Music] somebody ought to just praise him at this place if he did it before how many of you know that he can do it again same god same god right now same god back then somebody ought to just praise him because he is a god that that he has not lost one drop he has not lost one inch he has not lost one race he has not lost one case he has not lost one marriage he has not lost one child he has not lost a single fight because if he didn't before he can do it again yeah somebody just needs to testify i don't know what you're going through but you just gotta testify that he can do it again i don't know what it is you're going through you're down right now you're struggling right now you're you're on the ropes right now you don't know how you're going to make it right now but but in the moment you ought to just testify and say he can do it again he can lift me up again he can get me back in line again he can restore my heart again he can cause me to love again he can cause me to ride on high places again because he's the same god same god right now same god back then sometimes you've got to testify to who he really is and he is jehovah he is all-powerful just just say that for yourself my god is all-powerful sometimes you gotta verbalize what it is you believe in this god that you serve my god is all-powerful there is nothing too hard for the lord there's no bank account too empty that he cannot feel it there is no love to strain that he cannot mend it there is nothing that is broken enough that he cannot put it back together again same god right now he's the same god back then ava come back come back come on come on come on again for a second about i was trying to get your attention to tell you just to keep worshiping for a moment but come back to those hymns real quick just when you when you start saying there is a fountain [Music] filled with blood drawn from immanuel's veins sinners plunge yes beneath that flood they lose what do they lose sister all their kids worship a little bit just worship a little more ava i appreciate you you always come in the spirit of worship and i just praise god for it [Music] yes [Music] [Music] me [Applause] that blood [Music] right now sinners are losing the guilty stains right now [Music] come on y'all sing it with me [Music] [Music] first it was yes we received the day [Music] hallelujah we have the joy of the lord it is our strength because of what happened at the cross we are happy we are happy all the days [Music] go ahead and put your hands together for jesus christ it's all about the cross on this weekend it's all about the blood of jesus christ it's all about the fact that he came to this earth lived died and rose again why we celebrate on this weekend the resurrection the blood and the life oh i just worship our god on today if you just if you're happy and you know it go ahead and say amen somebody if you just bless the lord on today just go ahead and say thank you jesus i thank him in this house i thank him in this place i just thank god for uh sister ava i think that she comes always in a spirit to be used by god and i just thank god for her openness i thank god for our musicians who always usher us into a to the throne room of grace i just you know uh you know it's amazing to me that when the spirit is in a place that that even though i i love it when we have a whole praise team and the whole everybody's here but it's just incredible that that when you come in the right spirit that god can just fill a place with his presence and i'm just grateful and thankful everybody i thank god as you are tuning in on this afternoon this morning as we just worship an awesome god and and he is worthy to be praised and i just i just lift up my hands today because i know that if it had not been for the lord that was on my side i would not have made it to the end of this week how many of you just know that it was god it was god who made a way for you and you made away from me and i'm alive i'm sucking air i i'm i'm on my two feet i'm in my right mind because god has been gracious unto me and that does not go unnoticed by me i just i know that it is the blood that covers me how many of you know that if the devil had a chance if he could get through the blood he would kill mostly if he could but because i am covered by the blood because it is the blood that saves me because that that there is a fountain filled with blood that is drawn from his veins that that i am in a place with jehovah that i am by by all intensive purposes i'm untouchable by my enemy in fact anything that comes my way i know it has been authorized by the blood somebody ought to say amen that means i can handle it when it comes my way and so i just i just worship him on today as as we just uh fill this place with his presence if if you're watching i just want to welcome you who are watching online you're watching from all over the country there are those of you who are watching yay from around the world uh we welcome you to our worship service on this morning as we seek the face of a god who loves us more than we can love ourselves i would as we are prepared to launch into this word that the lord has laid on my heart for this morning turn with me in your bibles to the book of matthew chapters 27 uh matthew chapter 27 in god's word as we look to the word of the lord for for for covering we look to learn for the lord for encouragement we look to the word of god on this morning for guidance to put life into perspective to put our troubles into right perspective to put everything we are dealing with when i look at god's word it helps me to deal with it i'm looking at matthew 27 verse 41 and onward in god's word and i will read in your hearing from the new living translation of the bible matthew 27 and verse 41 from the new living translation of the word of god and it reads thus and the leading priests the teachers of religious law and the elders also mocked jesus he saved others they scoff but he can't save himself so he is the king of israel is he let him come down from the cross right now and we will believe in him he trusted god so let god rescue him now if he wants him for he said i am the son of god even the revolutionaries who were crucified with him ridiculed him in the same way at noon darkness fell across the whole land until three o'clock at about three o'clock jesus called out with a loud voice eli eli lama sabachthani which means my god my god why have you abandoned me some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet elijah one of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink but the rest said wait let's see whether elijah comes to save him then jesus shouted out again and he released his spirit at that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the temple was torn into from top to bottom the earth shook and split apart and tombs opened the bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead they left the cemetery after jesus resurrection went into the holy city of jerusalem and appeared to many people for just a few moments on this morning i want to speak to you from the message entitled testify somebody shall testify let us pray father god we thank you on this a weekend as we come to celebrate your death burial and resurrection father we thank you for being an almighty god we thank you lord for being the kind of god who lays down your life but we thank you on this morning that you are the same god who can pick it back up again so father we ask that in this moment as we look to your word i pray holy spirit that you would inundate our minds that you would take control of our hearts that you would allow us to leave this sliver of time change for having been in your presence now father i pray that you touch my lips with a cold from the altar of grace and speak now for your servants are listening in jesus name we pray amen many of us are very familiar with the scenes of the final moments of the life of jesus christ uh in these uh moments we see the this this jesus this god man who has done so much good who has been a source of peace to so many who has opened the sight of the eyes of the blind who has fed the hungry who has who has blessed uh unwanted children who has who has raised uh individuals from the dead this this jesus has now come to a time in his life where where where his good has been evil spoken of i i wonder how many people can relate where you have done good you have uh meant well you have blessed others you have been there for friends you have shown up for family only for your good to have been misconstrued only for what you have done in in the right spirit and in the right heart to have been turned around and and used against you and end up to be to your demise i i know some of you can relate to jesus on this morning because because he only meant good to humanity but in turn what he meant for good humanity has turned it around and repays him now evil for his goodness i want you to know that you are not alone and and you ought not fall apart when when when you are good to people and they treat you wicked and when you are are are kind and it seems like kindness does not always return unto you it is god allowing you a chance to experience what he experienced while he walked the earth i know we live in a day and age where everybody wants to be blessed and everybody wants to to get a miracle and everybody wants uh everything to in life to run smoothly but but but i'm tired of knowing the lord only in his blessings the word of god says that we ought to try getting to know him and be with him in the fellowship of his sufferings because there is a level of knowing god when you're going through that you can't know about god when you're riding on the mountaintop nobody sings about that they don't make songs necessarily about that preachers don't always want to preach about that but it is the truth anyhow and and sometimes when i'm going through uh acts jehovah god help me to understand what it feels to be like you when you're prosecuted and persecuted for righteousness sake in this text of scripture we have jesus he has been put on trial hear me somebody yeah but it is a kangaroo kangaroo court at best he has been put on trial by by by his enemies he has been put on trial by people of his own community he has been put on trial by his own church he he he has been put on trial by people who mean him evil i want you to hear me today and and the trial that he has been placed on has been cooked up somebody ought to say have mercy uh the trial has has been individuals who have been paid off uh individuals who have a ulterior motive of individuals who want to see him fail uh he's been put on trial and he's not have been granted a fair trial uh the trial has been cooked the the the the weaknesses have been paid off uh the individuals have lied about him have mercy i want you to hear me on today and and therefore because of this cooked up trial and this trump court case uh jesus has now been sentenced to die i want you to hear me on today he's he's been sentenced to death and let me hear let me let me explain it to somebody not just any death the most ignomanious death that anyone can be sentenced to in the roman in the history of the roman empire is the death on a cross i wish i had time to get in how how how horrible the death on a cross was i wish i had time to explain that what really killed you on the cross was was an agonizing death where every breath that you had to take was fought with pain because when you were on the cross how you breathe is that you had to pull up on the on the on on the nail scars in order to expand your diaphragm just to catch a breath that's why i love jesus because jesus endured the cross he despised the shame you might say pastor why was it shameful it was shameful because most times when the people paint pictures of people on the cross they paint pictures of them with a loin cloth about their private parts but i have to tell you today that roman history lets us know that when people were were crucified on the cross often times they were crucified stark naked in fact the sometimes the roman soldiers went so far as to drive a nail through their private parts to add insult to injury i'm talking about dying on a cross despising the shame but jesus in the midst of dying somebody ought to say amen uh he put death on paul's and endured the pain and said to a a a a a robber who was dying on a cross with him and he said to him i say to you today he he didn't let pain stop him from delivering somebody uh he didn't let what he was going through i wish i had somebody who would testify right now because somebody some of y'all when you're going through the only thing you care about is getting through what you're going through some of you when you're in a bad situation you don't think about anybody else you only think about yourself but i thank god right now i have an example in jesus that even when he was justified in keeping his mouth shut even when it would have been easier to say absolutely nothing even though it was been painless to keep quiet at that moment he understood that my keeping quiet meant this man would go to a grave so he speaks up when it's inconvenient i wish i had somebody listening to me this morning sometimes you've got to speak up even though you might lose your job sometimes you got to speak up even when you might lose some friends sometimes you've got to speak up even though people will hate you when you say something uh but sometimes uh it's a matter of life and death when you've got to open your mouth uh not on your own behalf but you gotta testify on somebody else's behalf jesus puts death on paul's to to open his mouth at a at a terrible cost to him so that he could bring comfort to someone in their dying moments but i want to get back to to what i was saying jesus had had been brought up on cooked up charges jesus had been convicted of crimes uh that that he did not commit have mercy um uh it it's hard for me to watch the trial of george floyd as we look at all this information and data it just oftentimes just brings back such visceral emotions and and you think that that we live in a day and age where it seems that injustice still holds sway it seems that you can do everything that we are trying to do to become equal partners in this uh in this human experience but because of the color of my skin i am treated differently than i look at the story in the scriptural text that jesus is is is sentenced to death uh on a court case that was that was less than than justin and here's as i was looking at the story i'm i'm torn because i'm saying my lord that god why didn't you intervene in the information why didn't you stop the liars and and clam up their mouths because i know you can do it how do i know you can do it because you shut up the mouths of lions when daniel was in the den i i know it's nothing for you to shut the mouths of some lying abominators so that you could save your only begotten son but how many of you know that he had to grow to the cross he had to despise the shame he had to die so that you and i might have a right to live when i look at the story i was troubled and i said how come lord there was nobody to testify on your behalf how come no one showed up to the trial the bible says that he healed so many people uh uh he fed in one day 5 000 uh uh men not alone the women and children i can count off on one hand individuals that he raised from the dead he raised lazarus he raised a little girl talathia kumai he raised that boy off a funeral pyre while his mother was burying him i believe there were countless individuals that he raised from the dead while he was living and and i often scratched my head jesus why did not they show up to the court why did they not testify on your behalf how come no one said something how can nobody opened up their mouth at the right time even his own disciples when when it was their turn because they had walked with jesus have mercy you ought not walk with jesus and when you get the spotlight pointed on you you say i never knew him peter says i i don't even know him in fact he throws in a few curse words and the people must have uh pulled back and said well maybe he didn't know jesus because the people around jesus don't even talk like oh have mercy i wish i had time to to talk to a few people about you know how you talk around people and i'm not just talking how you talk around church some of y'all come to church and you say all these big uh hefty haughty words happy sabbath i'm going to do the benediction have you been about other doxology i am going to uh be a part of the ecclesiology of the uh matter factor of the matter factor of jesus christ uh when you're in church uh you're quoting scriptures are you talking about jesus christ yeshua el shaddai yahweh el elyon but when you come up out of the church we don't even know who you are words are coming out of your mouth that i cannot repeat on camera oh less lord don't you act like you got a clean mouth don't you act like everything coming out of your mouth is hallelujah and amen there's some other four-letter words coming out of your mouth that you gotta print and sometimes people scratch their heads and say well i thought she was a christian i i thought she went to that church over there on 215th i thought they said they was a seven-day advantage yeah you had seven day advantage you ain't no seven day adventist you were it's only it's only when it's advantageous to you do you tell people who you are but when it's not peter curses and said i don't even know this man nobody stands up and testifies for jesus that is until you get to the cross i was about to give up and say god where where where were the testimonies uh where were the eyewitnesses where were those who could have vouched for who jesus was and what he did and what kind of life he lived and and it's not till i get to the cross that i find that jesus does have someone or yes something to testify on his behalf let's just take a few moments on this morning to look at the testimony that surrounds the cross of jesus christ uh look at what the bible says again it says a leading priest and teachers of religious law and elders also mock jesus he saved others they scoff but he cannot save himself i wish i had time to talk about he wasn't trying to save himself that's y'all sorry tails uh always looking out for number one always trying to save your own hide always trying to put your name in bright lights but they've come across somebody who's not concerned about himself but who lives so that others might have life and have it more abundantly it says they mocked jesus he saved others they said and scott but he can't save himself so he is the king of israel is he there making fun of jesus let him come down from the cross right now and we will believe sometimes you got some people who want to see something before they'll believe something but i need about five people who will believe in somebody before they see everything about somebody else somebody or to say amen when i married my wife she wasn't she did not have a job yet she had not graduated from her program but i saw something before i saw it somebody ought to say amen you ought to be able to see something before it materializes in there the bible says that here he is i'm verse 43 he trusted god so let him rescue him now if he wants him literally they're trying to put doubt that god doesn't even want jesus for he said i am the son of god even the revolutionaries who were crucified with him ridiculed him in the same way i'm about to get to the first testimony of jesus on the cross i want you to hear me i'm going to look at three witnesses to who jesus was at the cross the first weakness i want to call is i want to call the witness of the heavens i want you to hear me on today the bible says in verse 45 it says this at noon darkness fell across the whole land until three o'clock i want you to hear me that the first witness that jesus was who he says he was is that literally the heavens had to testify of who god is i wish i had somebody who knew their bible who knew psalm 1919 that says the heavens declare the glory of god and the heavens declareth his handiwork day on today utter speech not on tonight so it's knowledge uh the heavens literally said i quit uh the earth the sun says i refuse to shine the stars backed up and decided not to give their life and the bible says from about noon until three o'clock there was darkness upon the whole land for that period of time i want to let you know that jesus always has a witness even when you and i won't witness to who he is no jesus always has a voice in his back pocket when the people who claim to be christian go moot the bible says that that that while jesus is on the cross and while his his mouth factors and while his haters are talking about him i wish i had about two people who understand that sometimes you don't have to say nothing you don't have to defend yourself you don't have to stand up for yourself you don't got to go ahead and get a billboard you don't have to take out an article in the washington post when god has got your back he will testify for you the bible says that darkness fell across the whole land until three o'clock and about three o'clock jesus called out with a loud voice eli eli lama sabachthani which means my god my god why have you abandoned me i wish i had time to go into the the the the significance of what jesus was saying when you have time later on this afternoon i want you to go back to psalm chapter 22. that is what the text that jesus is literally quoting while on the cross it is incredible and amazing that while jesus is dying he is uh he is quoting scripture oh i wish you had time to go back because in quoting psalm 22 uh in fact let me let me just if you don't mind let me just go there really quickly to psalm 22 because it is incredible what jesus is quoting while he is dying on the cross in psalm chapter 22 it says my god my god why have you abandoned me jesus is literally quoting the psalm why are you so far away when i groan for help no every day i call to you my god but you do not answer every night i lift my voice but i find no relief yet you are holy enthroned on the praise of israel have mercy uh literally jesus if you keep on reading the psalm he talks about how god is going to deliver him in spite of his present situation but but you know the most powerful part of psalm 22 is not about jesus the fact that he quotes uh he quotes that part of scripture what what captures me is is that is that is that jesus literally is quoting psalm 22 that testifies in the psalm 22 which has prophesied about the kind of death he would experience if you read psalm 22 it says they have stretched me out they have hung me high my bones all show he literally telling you what kind of death he would die on a cross have mercy somebody if you don't believe that he is god you ought to believe that that he is literally let the word testify to who he really is the second testimony is not only do you have the testimony of the heavens verse 47 you have the testimony of the earth the bible says this it says uh listen but the word of god says verse 50 then jesus shouted out again and he released his spirit at that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the temple was torn into from top to bottom the earth shook rocks split apart i want you to understand that that even though people will not testify of who he is at this very moment the very earth and the church testified that he was the king of kings and the lord of lords that veil in the temple was split into an earthquake testified of the fact that this truly was the messiah i'm here to let you know that he might not have witnesses in pilate's judgment hall but he had witnesses in the planetarium he had weaknesses in the geography he had witnesses in the earth realm because he had created the earth the earth had to cry when he was dying on the earth because they recognized who it was that was spilling their blood in fact the earth had to or to crack up to receive the blood of jehovah god because they recognized that this is the same one who said let there be light and light came out of nowhere this is the same one who said let the firmaments come into the atmosphere and the stars shone bright and the sun showed up this is the same one who made plants uh appear out of nowhere huh this is the same one who made something out of nothing i don't know about you but i've been looking at the pictures at the mars rover has been sending back to the earth and when i look on those pictures i see absolutely nothing and it reminds me that god can come into nothingness and create something out of nothing i wish i had somebody who's going through something right now and somebody is saying you ain't nothing you ain't never gonna be nobody don't nobody like you know how can i just testify when god found me i was nobody but if you just stay connected to god a little while he'll turn nothing into something he'll turn a nobody into somebody he'll turn a has-been into a top figure he'll turn a washed up no good deadbeat into a real husband i wish i had somebody who would understand that if god speaks over your life [Music] the earth testifies to who he is you know remember when jesus said if y'all don't say anything the rocks will cry out well at his tomb the rock at his grave at his dying moment the literally the rocks are crying out to who he is earthquake rumbles the church is discombobulated the temple veil is ripped in half and and now uh it exposes the inner sanctum of the holy sanctuary saying that god is saying that i'm done away with uh the the blood of bulls and lambs i'm done away with pigeons and turtle doves god says that i am receiving the blood of my son as an atonement for the sins of the world forever there's another testimony that takes place i don't want you to miss it it says at that moment verse 51 the curtain in the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom the earth shook rocks split apart i'm gonna give you the next testimony uh it says that that that it says that entombs opened up the bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead have mercy wait a minute that while jesus was dying his death had caused other people to be resurrected have mercy somebody i don't know if you're catching this and i don't know of you understanding what is going on right here jesus has just given up the ghost he has yelled out eli eli lama bhaktani my god my god why have you forsaken me and a few moments later the bible says that that here's what i love about what the bible says that he gives up the ghost somebody ought to say amen nobody did not come and take his life from him nobody that the deaf angel did not come and snatch breath out of his nostrils up the enemy did not have authority as to when he would die the bible says that jesus says i took up my life and i lay it down and i'll take it back up again it says that he released his spirit back unto the somebody ought to say amen that god has power even over death but the text says that that when he is dying you got to hear this that jesus is dying and literally while he is dying tombs are opening up have mercy literally the bible says that these these tombs are opened up it says and it says the the the bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the you know i paused my my divine imagination asked me the question and i said i wonder if jesus were to do this again who would raise up from the dead hallelujah would would your name be written there would your grave crack open because god would deem you godly man or a godly woman that god would say i'mma raise him up from the dead and i'ma raise her up from the dead and and the bible says that they rose up from the dead and they left the cemetery after jesus resurrection so here's what i want you to understand that they rose up from the dead but they were in the cemetery waiting around for three days somebody ought to say have mercy until jesus had raised up from the dead and then when he raised up from the dead the bible says that they went into jerusalem to testify somebody ought to say amen jesus yes he did even in his death and even in his mouth trial and even though they had trumped up charges against him he had weaknesses that could not be refuted people who had died people who had been buried people who had they had gone to the funeral of sister so and so and and elder such and such and pastor uh this and that uh but all of a sudden they're seeing them alive again and they are testifying about the goodness of jesus i'm here to tell you on this morning that jesus and god never leaves himself without a witness but can i tell you the greatest weakness of jesus and his power is not just the fact that the heavens testify to who he is it's not just that the earth has testified at his death to who he is it's not just that the dead people were raised from the dead to give witness to who god is can i just help somebody on this uh saturday morning the biggest testimony to who jesus is is that when the disciples went to the tomb inspecting to see a dead body somebody ought to say glory when they got to the tomb the angel said why do you seek the living amongst the dead the greatest testimony to a powerful god is a risen savior and an empty tomb i wish i had about five people who could testify that i am serving a risen savior he's in the world today i love my jesus and my god i don't serve confucius because they know where his grave is at i don't serve muhammad because they know where his grave is at i don't serve krishna because they know where his grave is at i don't serve the buddha because they know where his grave is at i don't serve any one of those people because they know where their graves are at every pope that has died he is buried in a cemetery but i serve a risen savior i cannot go to his grave and pay homage to him because he is not in the ground he is up in the sky he is in the heavens the dempted tomb testifies to a risen god and a living god if they had his tune people would circle it like they served the rock of abraham if they had his tomb they would visit it and pay homage to it if they had his tomb they would put ropes around it and nobody could approach it if they had jesus tombs they would be people who would worship the tomb but i'm here to tell you today that they don't have a tomb they don't have a graveyard there is no headstone when i go see granny granny has got a headstone nut it gives the date of her birth and the date of her death but when i look at jesus he don't have no headstone it only tells that when he was alive and when he rose again there is no tune there is no burial there is no death huh because grave had to give up teeth there is testimony to who he is i don't know who you are i don't know what you're going through but i'm here to tell you today that you're not believing cunningly devised fables you're not believing woulda coulda shoulda you're not believing something that has not transpired neither has it taken place you are believing in a god who has defeated death hell and the grave and the bible says he has gone to prepare a place for you and he's gone to prepare flesh for you just as surely as he rose himself from the dead this is as sure as he will come back and receive us unto himself he is the reason that we celebrate this weekend the resurrection truth and the life in jesus christ that's why i worship him because he's worthy to be praised i don't know about your going through and i don't know what's happening in your life but i came to encourage somebody don't give up don't fall apart you've got a testimony and your life can testify to who he really is every day you live your testimony to good the grace of god and the goodness of god the mercy of god and the power of god to change individuals and so on this morning i just pray that god allows me to be a living testimony to who he really is that is a risen savior let me pray for you father god thank you on this morning there is no god quite like our god father i thank you on this morning that easter is not just a holiday easter isn't about bunny rabbits and gifts easter isn't about going out to dinner and just showing up at church [Music] easter and resurrection weekend is a reminder that the only religious leader in history to be raised from the dead is jesus christ the only empty tomb that exists is the tomb of jesus christ the only god that has all power in his right hand to lay down his life and pick it back again pick it back up again is none other than jesus and so we worship you on this weekend we acknowledge your presence in our lives we thank you for all that you have done for us through us in us we just want to collectively say on today father we are grateful the sacrifice of your son jesus and so father i just pray right now that you would send a supernatural blessing to each and every person who is listening online i pray o god that that that that father that whoever is struggling whoever is going through whoever whoever does not know their way out of the place they find himself in father i just pray that you would just send your spirit to to just engulf them in a hand grip of grace father remind us remind us that there is nothing too hard for you that if you could if you could deliver yourself that you can deliver us father we we just thank you that father i pray that we do not lose sight on this weekend that this is all about you all about you coming all about that you living all about you helping all about you suffering all about you dying but most importantly about you raising from the dead so father we worship a living god the true god the alpha and omega the beginning and the end thank you for shedding your blood thank you for dying on the cross thank you for for for taking our place thank you for not not not not not giving up on any one of us god we we just worship you on today and thank you father i pray for somebody who's listening to this message and they have not made their calling and election sure i pray for somebody who's listening to this message and they drifted away from you but they're sensing i need to come back to jesus christ for somebody who's listening to this message has been listening to this worship service and you recognize that i need
