hey guys is Logan coming at you from hunting pros and today me and my buddy are up for a bit of a snowshoe hare hunt we have to stop at the truck for some launchers actually really good we had some kraft dinner and wieners and I figured this would be a great moment to do a review of this nice little gun the gun you're looking at is a Mossberg 500 chambered in 410 and it handles from two-and-a-half inch shells to three inch shells the model you're looking at obviously has a wooden stock instead of the synthetic it has a 24 inch barrel and full choke already guys so let's get up close and personal with this little gun I'm starting at the rear of the gun you're gonna notice that it has a nice rubber recoil pad that makes this gun great for all shooters moving forward on the gun you're gonna notice that it has a tank mounted safety that slides forward to disengage the safety you're also gonna notice that it has a gold trigger which is more for looks and anything but it is nice to have that it kinda has a nice look to the gun and towards the front of the gun you're gonna notice that it has two beads the first one is one that it kind of looks like copper and then the next one up here is made out of plastic and this gun in particular will hold five three inch shells alright guys so obviously there's a few things about this gun that I don't really like the first of that being the front bead sight I don't like the fact that it's white living in Canada and trying to get a good sight picture on a moving target with snow in the background with the white sight doesn't really mix Oh for me that's not really something that I like I don't I also don't like the fact that it's plastic just because in cold environments it has the potential to shatter if you whack it on something the next thing I don't like is the fact that the action starts lauki I find out about a lot of model 500s it doesn't affect the functionality of the gun which is a good thing but I have noticed that walking through the woods you're constantly here and you know that type of noise so you could bump a rabbit you could flush a grouse prematurely possibly but like I said that has nothing to do with the functionality of the young these things are workhorse I think we all know that and the last thing I don't really like about the gun is the fact that there's no plate here to assist you to get the rounds up inside of the gun um it also kind of makes it so that dirt and snow and a bunch of debris can get up and so out of there and actually interfere with the with the functionality of the gun so I don't really like that but once again guys all in all this is a workhorse of a gun and it's great for all people so at this point guys I think it's only fair to give you a quick look at how this actually shoots so I'm gonna load it up here I'm gonna put three shells in it and we're gonna do a little bit of shooting smoke - 10 today so hands were a little tingly there we go [Applause] alrighty guys so I'm not sure if you can see that or not but I put a paper plate downrange there about 15 yards and I'm just gonna take one shot at it with a three-inch number 6 birdshot load just to show you how this wood pattern on paper so here we go alright guys sorry for not having a proper target but we'll work with what we have here I have that pie plate that I just shot at um once again I'm using a gun that has full choke and it was a three-inch number 6 birdshot round I shot like I said from about 15 yards and this is the outcome so you'll see most of the pattern was actually at the top of the target I mean I did aim right in the center and as you'll notice actually one stray pellet went way down here but for the most part I mean if that was a rabbit if that was a grouse something like that it would definitely be a dead animal I'm in total we have 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 we have about around 20 pellets on there so that definitely be a dead small game animal alright guys so all in all if you're looking for a gun that's not gonna break the bank and that's good for all shooters this may be the firearm for you although there have been some issues that I have noted with this gun I must say that Berg manufactures very reliable firearms and they definitely hold up to that name it's coming up we have a couple reviews one of a Mossberg model 88 maverick and 20-gauge with interchangeable choke so that i'll be coming up as well as a couple more reviews on two Remington 870 s one being a 12-gauge Express and another one being a 20 gauge special field Edition
