ask peter pie at some point in the past i asked you my ongoing series where i react to submissions on my subreddit r m g tv and since most of those submissions are memes the alternate name for this series is pokemon meme review before we dive into the memes though two quick things to cover first is that i have merch available only for a few more days it is this hoodie which i promise is not a mjtv clips but there won't be any brand new content on either of my two larger channels i'm taking a step away from uploading for a period of time that is not yet determined as of now i'm thinking about a month month and a half but who knows what could happen so i wanted to give you some heads up on that i will go more into details of why i'm doing this after i have finished the pokemon meme but if it had some lame name like people would still like it absolutely but it wouldn't be the god-tier pokemon that it is i may have overreacted when i saw these guys but they're so cute babies oh designed a pokemon for every type just on the spot and drew them very poorly and i encouraged those of you who saw it to make art of it and submit it to the subreddit and did this person do it for everyone i made they made mock decks entries too that's so cool batter tea the sea turtle pokemon extreme ocean pollution has led to many sea dwelling pokemon to adapt this one's ordinary sea turtle now uses a discarded battery for a shell that is so cool broliv they made the these look so good a stark contrast to its previous form brawlif is an aggressive pokemon that seems rather protective of smaller creatures i love these copmaton these pokemon can be found at abandoned building sites the oxidation buildup on its body makes moving around hard for this pokemon oh no poor cockmaton cosmoth oh this is a significant improvement over my design just as other moths cosmonauts love the light this pokemon is currently endangered as they often fly high into the sky and die from exhaustion trying to reach the sun oh no oh no these are so sad star toad oh this looks so good these creatures come in a variety of colors just do not be fooled by their pretty appearance just five drops of the poison they secreted enough to kill 50 buffalon we could simplify that that fraction to one drop can kill 10. but like they look great oh that looks cool dumus they're lost in the force at night being the lookout for doom moose they're said to be a sign of disaster to come have seen in the wild that looks really cool the only critique i have with this one is that its face kind of makes it look more like a deer i think it needs to have the more like round bulbous face but aside from that this looks awesome false gorge no one knows what this pokemon truly looks like all that is known is that a ghostly form enters these golden idols to receive the prayers of unsuspecting people presumably to curse them afterwards isn't amazing oh flop flap is so cute this pokemon can move its ears independently they are so large and strong that with enough effort this pokemon can soar into the air with ease it's adorable hawkatrice that looks cool this pokemon is very rare to spot in the wild they are only well documented because there have been a few raised in captivity horn orb he's adorable this pokemon looks to burrow into the ground to hide away from the sun please be careful when walking around as it would be rather unfortunate to step on one halamoto this pokemon is hot to the touch the oils at skin secrets are similar to actual chili pepper oils please proceed with caution when handling oh my gosh this is amazing oh leopout looks so good this mysterious pokemon can be seen roaming around snowy mountains it is said that its striking yellow eyes can always be seen in areas where avalanches occur magiraf it's got the magic tongue this fairy pokemon may look goofy but don't judge a book by its cover magirf salifa has healing properties that can mend broken bones in minutes oh my gosh keep those at the pokemon center oh orcaine looks awesome side note someone noted in the comments that then like there's a creature in a fighting game called rivals of ether called or kane which is like an orca but like made to have like dog feet um so it's quadruped and it's also named or kane that's a complete coincidence i had no idea so we might need to change this thing's name to like or cruel or we'll work on it oh tossum it hoards all types of berries in the pouch on its stomach these berries are used exclusively as ammunition that's so good prophecy it is said that when this pokemon opens its eyes at you it is ready to tell you your future documented tellings of these events say that nobody is strong enough to withstand the knowledge this pokemon grants you with oh my god but it looks so good tara kid it seems the name of uh parkhorn was changed which is which is fine i'm fine with you changing the names this looks really cool these pokemon are such expert cliff climbers there are tails and mist that say they have six legs oh maybe this is the pre-evolution of harkhorn and parkhorn is like very rare training its smaller stature allows it to be very stealthy letting it hide amongst bigger objects to stay out of sight uh you glassy colors you freaking this is in this is so good this made me so happy your art is excellent and i loved the dex entry talented significantly better artists than i alright i can scroll that all day so i should probably stop and discuss for a bit why i am taking this upload i would say it's a sabbatical if you don't know what sabbatical means it's a term for basically like an extended vacation a college professor will take a sabbatical and like not do any work or teaching or research for like a semester that is what this is for me it's something that i probably needed a while ago but i'm finally doing it and there's a variety of reasons why so there are things like so i moved recently and there's still a significant amount of work to do in relation to that and i haven't been able to fully focus on that because i've had to get back to doing work stuff and so this will give me some more time to focus on the house but the main reason i'm doing this is because of a term you've probably heard youtubers uh say before and that is burnout i am not burned out to the point where i want to quit youtube and never do it again but i am concerned i could get to that point which is why i'm doing this i have been extremely consistent with posting youtube videos for many years i believe i started posting at least weekly in the fall of 2014 so eight years ago when i was a sophomore in college and i haven't posted every single week since then but it's been the vast majority of weeks i've posted at least one video often times a lot more starting in 2019 i was posting two highly edited videos to this channel a week for a couple months i was editing them myself and then i got my lovely editor katie but i was doing that until it got to a point where uh the plays channel was taking off and i wanted to focus more time on that so i scaled back to one video a week on this channel and plays whenever i could on average plays is about every two weeks and yes i have skipped a week here and there due to the move or a trip or whatever but overall i have been consistent and as my very close friend john aka pm7 told me i'm a workhorse and i have remained consistent and been that workhorse even during times where i wasn't really excited about what i was making starting towards the end of 2020 beginning of 2021 my excitement about the content i was making here on this channel really started to wear off the amount of ideas i was having that i thought oh this is a really cool interesting design was dramatically decreasing and i think that's just because i made so many freaking videos on this channel for a year and a half it was two videos a week and that was happening around the same time that content on my plays channel a content format which was highly edited gameplay something i hadn't done before was really taking off and so that was like exciting and shiny and new and the main channel was more like well i don't want to stop posting here it's my bigger channel but i'm not really excited about what i'm making but i have to keep posting here because it would disappoint a lot of people and it wouldn't be a smart business decision to stop and so for honestly like a year a year and a half the main channel has been in a state of maintenance i've maintained it rather than creative excitement and creative fulfillment you may have noticed in the last year the frequency of scripted videos on this channel has dramatically decreased and that is because writing scripts became a drag they became bigger projects and sometimes scripts take me more than a day to write and so not only was that dragging me down because it was like i am not really being creatively fulfilled by this but it was also time that i could not spend on the plays channel which was the more exciting channel for me so for a while the main channel has been in a state of just keep maintaining it and the plays was the really exciting new content not only because of the new format of content but also the success plays is a more successful channel than this channel right now in regards to average views per video and that was really really exciting but then i established a new normal and the growth really petered off not michael growth g-r-o-w-t-h and then there was a period of time from like early march to end of may where the only content i was posting to plays was playthroughs of pokemon games john pm7 was unavailable to make videos so i was doing it all by myself with like time pressure for brand deals and let me tell you playing through pokemon that many times usually with a time restraint it gets old it got to the point where when i recorded the y randomizer video which the end product is a great video but i did not enjoy playing it i got done with that and i was like i don't want to play a pokemon game for months and i love pokemon just doing it so many times in a short period of time like your favorite food you could if you eat it for three meals a day for three months you're probably gonna get sick of it so i need a break from the hamster wheel of come up with a new main channel video on monday to post on saturday come up with a plays video and try to rush to get it done and you know here's this brand deal that it's tough to say no to so okay i'll do it but now i have to figure out a video for this brand deal to be in and i just need some time away from the time pressure of uploading to kind of recharge but i also need this break to plan because i don't have any long-term goals like i want to hit a million subs on the place channel but that's really it and i feel like i need to figure out a lot of things like what i want to work toward what format and kind of content do i want to make how do i best want to organize my business because i'm feeling like well i need some more help but with what i don't know and i need to figure out how to get more creative fulfillment out of my content because i feel like that's something that's been lacking for me for a little while i mean there's instances where it's there but it's not the majority of the time which is a problem when it's a creative career so i'm going to take this sabbatical for an undetermined amount of time i want to say a month to a month and a half but i'm not committing anything so i don't have any kind of deadline pressure on myself but i will be back because i don't hate my job i just need to reevaluate how best to do it thank you guys so much for
