this is mlb network presents well after 30 years a world series title has finally returned to kansas city three decades after their memorable championship against the cardinals in 1985 the royals are world series champs again the game has changed quite a bit in 30 years but one constant for the city and team is the franchise's all-time greatest player a big part of that royals team in 85 and now a big part of the royals front office a guy who was hard to miss during this year's world series celebrations i played on the 85 world championship team but after watching these guys play the last two years i want to congratulate them for two things winning the world series and becoming the greatest team in kansas city royal history these guys are the best team ever i've lived in kansas city over 40 years i know people that never went to a game never wanted to go to a game for the last 25 years now they're talking baseball [Music] how great is that amazing man they've been waiting 30 years for this [Applause] [Music] man it was a long time coming in kansas city and the truth is it felt even longer the royals 1985 world series title was followed by three decades out of the postseason three decades that came to feel like baseball oblivion it was a trying time i know for the city of kansas city the ball club especially and very frustrating for the fans and as an alumnus it was pretty embarrassing because i never imagined it would be that low for the 19th consecutive game the royals end up on the losing end in kansas city for the longest time it got humid in the summers there were a lot of potholes around town and the baseball team stunk and those were like the things that you could really count on and all those losing seasons were all the more painful considering the franchise had been almost from its inception all about winning when i came up in 76 it was a big powerhouse that's it the royals go to the world series our thing was we never brushed ourselves off you knocked me down and get right back up all dirt everything man because i'm gonna let you know you're not intimidating me it was an aggressive game back in those days you didn't have guys trying to avoid the tag or or stop and go back to first we just ran over the guy and tried to prevent the double play from 1976 to 85 the royals made the postseason seven times and won two pennants culminating in that unforgettable 85 world series title and during that stretch they were led by a future hall of famer at third base we drafted george in 1971. when i saw him as an 18 year old kid for the first time i realized we had somebody special george brown is not just the greatest player in royals history he's one of the greatest players of all time great hustle great heart great grit and also the seeming ability to come through in the clutch every single time he was one of those unique hitters that don't come around very often if you challenged him or if there was a task at hand he always came through 1985 was one of brett's greatest seasons capped by the world series win and that october an 18 year old kid watched the celebration at royal stadium from a unique vantage point the highway nearby we were actually passing through town and decided to stop right off a high 70. you can see everything except lonnie smith in left field to be able to you know see the first world championship in royals history right off i-70 was pretty neat 21 years later dayton moore was a promising young executive for the atlanta braves working under gm john shurholds who'd originally made his name as the general manager for that 85 royals club but when moore was offered the gm job in kansas city in 2006 his mentor wasn't encouraging dayton asked john sherholtz he said you know god i'm thinking about taking this job and and john sherhold says they will never win in kansas city dayton said you know what i want the challenge [Music] and boy what a great job he's done thanks to strong drafting and key acquisitions moore's mission to return the royals to glory nearly came to fruition in a cinderella 2014 season 29 years of frustration has ended the royals are going to the world it started off as a nice story and then all of a sudden it's seventh game in the world series they're going this isn't a nice story this is a great story so it comes down to this the royals need a hit bomb garner needs an out what a way to finish side the ball down the line in foul round and he's got it and the giants have won the world series we were really one game away one run away from winning the world championship and i think that just created a whole new animal throughout the whole entire team it was a matter of getting back to that stage and having another opportunity to win the royals took their first big step towards that goal by winning more games than any other team in the american league over the 2015 regular season they basically boat raced the american league central orlando with a walk-off grand slam last year was the breakthrough this one was just a really talented team that doesn't have many flaws this one was not luck we've always felt that way but now that everyone's starting to feel that way also and have our backs with it it's uh it's a really cool feeling october is our mission it's not a game october it's not good it's a lifestyle now we go fans waited 30 years for the royals to win a division and the magic number is one as in one out on the ground to hosmer davis to the bag magic number the royals are the 2015 [Applause] and if the 2015 royals entered the postseason still motivated by how their previous year concluded to fans of a certain age it felt at least somewhat familiar considering how things had also ended for the royals in the 1984 alcs i made the last out of the series i was standing at home plate and i popped up the third base [Applause] and i had to stand at home plate just like the royals catcher had to stand at home plate and watch the last doll come down i can remember saying to the guys when i got on the bus i said man that pitch was right there i said i can't believe i missed it man i'm sorry and hal mcrae was like rookie if you let that bother you you crazy he said just forget about it it's over but it bothered me the whole winter and when the royals reported for spring training in florida in 1985 the club found itself at a crossroads casey's group of young pitchers was promising led by 20-year-old brett saberhagen but the team's core group of veterans including george brett would need to be at their very best a fact not lost on part owner avron fogelman he pulled me aside and he said george you're making more money than anybody on this team and you spent 47 days on the disabled list last year i want you to go home and get yourself in the best shape you possibly can come to spring training healthy in good shape and help us win a world series the royal trainers put together this program that i stayed on lost about 35 pounds and came to spring training everybody thought i was too skinny but the new brett would put together one of his greatest seasons hitting 335 with a career-high 30 home runs even so his club would have to battle all season long just to have another shot at returning to october what a fantastic first half by the kansas city royals the royals with the best record in the american league and sending seven to the all-star game while the 2015 royals spent their summer proving they were worthy of their swagger in 1985 their predecessors felt a lot more uncertain sitting seven and a half games out of first place at the all-star break we were just kind of sitting around 500 and then all of a sudden things started kicking in and clicking and the ball game is over kansas city frank built a long drive to left and it is gone we've had such a good track record behind us and a lot of the same guys are still on the ball club and we never went into any game thinking we couldn't win it after the all-star break when we hit that stretch everything kind of clicked and everyone started relaxing a little more than the pitching became that much better and strike three cause the game is over saves and goose and charlie and bud black myself we all just took off that is four strikeouts for jackson who's retired seven in a row going into the last week of the season they're in second place they have a four game series against the angels they're they're a game behind they really have to win that series and if they were going to win the series the player who'd led the club through every big moment for a decade would once again need to rise to the occasion that is something that george just thrived on nobody was a tougher competitor than that guy that came alive beginning with that series against california in the final six games brent had five homers and 13 rbis and 450. i remember two of them i think were inside the parkers and you see a lot of inside the park home runs back then in this ballpark because it was astroturf and we had tricky corners and if guys tried to cut balls off and they didn't get to them they would roll all the way to center field and they had two of those so i figured i was locked in kansas city wins it and they take three out of four in the four game series and they go into first to the west by a game over the angels we got hot and uh you know number five he played a big part in that too two nights after the angels left town wilson delivered his own signature moment to clench the division it got us to the playoffs but we knew we weren't finished unfinished business propelled the 1985 royals into the postseason but while that club went straight to the lcs the expanded playoff system by 2015 meant the latter day royals had to start their unfinished business in a best of five division series against the young and hungry astros team a team that pushed kc to the brink of elimination in game four taking a 6-2 lead into the eighth the astros six outs away moving on to the alcs we're down four and then it was almost like moose came in the dugout was like look i'm not ready to go home and a base hit to start things in the visitors eight ground ball base hits center field that's lined into center field three straight singles fourth straight hit for the royals swing and a line drive base in right field five straight hits just told everybody that i wasn't ready to go home we're a good team and we just got to go out and you know catch a break and roll from there he misplayed it kansas city has tied it in the eighth and the ride isn't over yet everyone that's following our team knows that late in the game if we can tie a game it's almost like we have the advantage and it feels like we're winning osmer swings and drives it it is gone that's what we really did the whole entire postseason stunned everybody and then came back from all these crazy comebacks the royals have forced a game five in kansas city they stunned the astros with a 9-6 victory [Music] the same night as that epic comeback back home in kansas city a tragedy was unfolding in the northeast section of town we continue to follow breaking news of a deadly apartment fire in kansas city two firefighters died after they were killed in a building collapsed fighting this fire here on independence avenue the deceased firefighters are identified as 17-year veteran [Music] 17-year veteran fire apparatus operator larry jay leggio of truck 2 13-year veteran firefighter john v mesh of pumper pumper10 when that tragedy hit it felt like it hit really close to home for a lot of us to know that you know two firemen had lost their lives especially two young firemen with families firefighter legion leaves a wife a mother and many immediate family members firefighter mesh leads a wife four young daughters as well as many family members definitely a big royals fan he watched most of the games with his daughters they were telling me you know uncle jim dad's yelling at the tv again so he got into it he really liked the royals he went to numerous games together a lot of firemen would show up and you know we all had our own seats around the whole bar park and we could we could sit in our seats or we could all go be together in the outfield he saw the family atmosphere between the guys on the team and how well they all got along he felt that that was a lot very similar to the way that the fire department was this is devastating my dad was a firefighter and i was really close with a lot of guys at his station and there being a lot of times where you know my dad would be talking to us on the phone and you can hear the the bell ringing from his station that he had to go so it was always nervous times for us you just try and relate to the families of the victims and try and help them get through these tough times in the wake of the tragic events and the loss of two kansas city firefighters the royals joined the greater kansas city community in honoring firefighters larry leggio and john mesh tonight we welcome to the field the families of larry and john here we are celebrating and having fun in the playoffs and you know they're out being heroes like they are every single night and end up losing their lives because of it it was a very sobering time it was a very tough time for all of us [Music] please join them and your kansas city royals in a moment of silence to honor our two fallen heroes [Music] it was very humbling it it made you feel like you mattered not just because um a firemen or two firemen lost their lives but they wanted to to try to take a little bit of the pain away and they did a really good job one thing that's really special about kansas city is when something is devastating as has happened the city just has a way of uniting itself and finding any possible way to get through this together as a city and really just as a family [Music] a drive to right orlando on his horse back there to make the catch at the wall and it's with that exclamation point that the kansas city royals move on for a date with the blue jays [Music] in 1985 the royals won the al west title for the sixth time in 10 years the next step was a date with a power pack toronto blue jays club in the al championship series toronto blue jays i thought were one of the better teams in baseball they had a good player at every position that year 30 years later the royals would face another blue jays team that was filled with standouts and stars throughout their lineup that's an offense if it gets hot they can put a lot of runs on the board at any time and you just have to go out and execute and that's exactly what the royals did in october of 2015 taking the first two games of the series in kansas city they keep the train moving and their train is headed to toronto up two games to nothing 30 years earlier the story was the opposite as that series started in toronto and the jays won the first two games but back in kansas city the royals looked to george brett to get them back in it against jay's starter doyle alexander when nobody on base i just said okay just go back to what you did 99 of the time just try to hit the ball hard up the middle and he came back with a change up and i hit a home run well hit deep right if it stays fair the royals are in front and they are that was great but the play of the game was at third base slaps it that was a play of the game and that gave us a little bit of momentum yeah you can smile george why not brett's play preserved the lead for kc but the jays would storm back in the fifth and go ahead 5-3 then brett stepped to the plate in the sixth and delivered one of the biggest hits in royals history well-hit to left-center back goes mosby forget it that was by far the best game i've ever played in my life the game is tied at five he was about as close a hitter as i've ever played with and when you have a guy like that and you line up and you can bring the offense to him then you feel pretty good about your chances to win the game he willed the royals to win that game if we don't win that game the series is essentially over kansas city wins it the royals are back in it while the 1985 royals needed that game three win to stay in the series 30 years later the blue jays were the ones returning home in desperate straits and they take two out of three in toronto forcing the series back to kansas city we knew it was going to be a tough series but after winning the first two games in reality your goal is to come to toronto and at least win one then you get to go home and win one there and the series is over but while the 2015 royals look to win the pennant at home in game six the 1985 version dropped the fourth game of their series putting them in a deep 3-1 hole and on the verge of elimination a lot road on the performance of 23 year old left-hander danny jackson and he controlled game five from the outset my fastball was cutting in and the slider was working very very well for me make a left turn and head for the dugout willie upshaw i was fortunate to be able to go out there and throw a shadow for nine innings this might do it balboni we're going to toronto it's probably one of the best games i ever threw they needed another big game from a kid and danny jackson gave it to him two nights later at exhibition stadium another george brett homer powered the royals to a 5-3 game six win and forced a decisive game seven there in the sixth the royals had a one-run lead when light-hitting catcher jim sunberg stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the air to right farfield going back i was down on the bullpen down in that area and when he hit the ball we're like get fair get fair get fair get fair it hits the top of the fence three-run score it's a triple for sunburn and kansas city's lead goes to five to one after that hit we knew that our chances of going to the world series was very very good for the second time in their history they're on their way to the world series in 2015 the royals had a chance to close out the blue jays in game six and with the game tied in the bottom of the eighth lorenzo kane reached first and then eric hosmer came up you obviously try and go up to the plate and be locked in for every at-bat and you try and find the best pitch you can get and just tell myself not to miss it i thought okay maybe he's going first to third and ken just didn't stop running [Applause] he needs those wheels to go to that sixth gear he gets in sixth gear pretty quick a single to right field he scores from first base and he was not running on the pitch amazing three outs later the royals were going to the world series again back-to-back american league penance for the kansas city royals and off they go to the fall classic against the new york mets let's go boys come on here we go while we're here more than why we're here skipper this is our time what we've been waiting for yes sir let's go let's go as the 2015 world series began the royals were intent on reaching a pinnacle the city hadn't seen in 30 years you know it'd be amazing to win a world series especially for the kansas city to be able to bring a championship back home to this town be unbelievable [Applause] back in 1985 the opponents for brett and the royals were the cardinals in what was dubbed the i-70 series the i-70 series you got people going one way or the other so it was pretty exciting and everybody was very much into it welcome to this little interstate squabble otherwise known as the 1985 world series this was long before interleague play it was a lot of fun i think it was more hyped because it was the show me state series and the connections weren't just geographical our former manager was managing the cardinals and so so that made it even better but the royals dropped game one with their bats quieted by cardinal ace john tudor the next night the royals took a two-nothing lead into the ninth in game two but after manager dick hauser decided not to call on all-star closure dan quisenberry the cardinals rallied against starter charlie lee brand we were winning in the ninth and you know everybody scratching their head why isn't quisenberry kitchen and you know dick went with his gut and figured charlie could get him out [Applause] it was like oh my god here we go again we're down 2-0 three decades later the 2015 royals were looking to avoid that kind of early hole they trailed four to three heading into the bottom of the ninth of game one then with one out one of their longest tenured players came up here's alex gordon over two of the walk the 31 year old gordon had been the second overall pick in the draft a decade earlier touted by scouts as the royals next true star he came up as the third baseman and yeah here's the next george prep but it was a struggle and there were a lot of people that said he's not going to be able to make him he's not going to be a real impact player then they move him to left field and he's taken off into the left field corner alex dives and he caught it well he proved him wrong he is an impact player gordon in the air to center back at the wall this game is tied and then late kansas city magic strikes again this place is pulsating at the moment the game is tied 4-4 the royals are still breathing the game would stay tied at four all the way to the bottom of the 14th base has loaded nobody out osmer can win it i felt like it was my time to do something for the club right there granderson back escobar tags here comes escobar the royals [Music] [Applause] the next night there was less drama thanks to johnny cueto's complete game gem how about royale's up two games to nothing so the 2015 royals headed to new york with a two-game lead a stark contrast from that 85 team that arrived in st louis down two-nothing and not happy to discover what people there were already assuming when we got off the plane the tower was to our right and on the tower it said welcome home 1985 world series champions and they were only two games up we hadn't even played game three yet and all of us looked at it we all saw it and we'll put a chip on our shoulders real quick i think a lot of players are really offended by it it just made me mad and if the royals were angry their ace was also brilliant in his first start of the series i felt very confident and comfortable 2-2 got him went out and pitched we got some runs early the royals took a two-nothing lead in the fourth and then in the fifth came a big blow from a 34 year old who dreamt his whole life of playing for his hometown team frank grew up you know a mile from this stadium and was on the construction crew to help build the stadium i lived at eight blocks away and you walk down the side of the stadium you're rubbing your hand along the stadium wondering if you're ever gonna have an opportunity to play he hits a high drive to deep left field and landrum watches this one go out of there that one was well back and out of here and it's four-nothing kansas city that might be the longest home i've ever hit the kansas city royals rebound from a gut-wrenching loss and beat the cardinals we ended up winning the game 6-1 and got us back on track the game three win cut the royals deficit to 2-1 in that 1985 world series but 30 years later it was a game three royals loss that meant another fall classic was far from over we are ready for baseball it's game four of the 2015 world series a lot at stake tonight the royals hope to go up three games to one over the mets we can be in the driver's seat three to one and everyone knows how hard it is to beat a team three times in this league if the mets win we're all square at two games apiece it's almost like you feel like this is a deciding game up to one the royals had a chance to seize full control of the 2015 world series in game four a stark contrast from where their predecessors found themselves in 1985. [Applause] [Music] center field [Applause] with that commanding lead cardinal fans and much of the baseball world were already riding off the underdog royals you know the old saying don't count your chickens before his hatch you know that's exactly what was happening in st louis so here we go game five and now he'll try to wrap up a world title for saint louis it was really funny because game five i'm in the clubhouse and they start setting up the cameras you know after this game you guys are gonna be losing and we're gonna you know get the stuff about how it is feel to lose in my brain right and i said you can take that blankety blank plank down because we're not losing today [Applause] that's hit toward the gap in right center field and that one is up the gap and then stake to that early lead danny jackson came up big once again danny jackson has just been brilliant danny jackson one of the most overlooked players in that entire world series game five elimination game and he comes through again at kansas city here we come [Applause] again the complete game five hitter by jackson meant a historic series comeback was still possible in 1985. and the royals are down to their last five outs tonight thirty years later in game four the royals trailed the mets 3-2 in the eighth but in this post-season the royals had made comebacks their trademark this could be the crossroads of the 2015 world series royals pull this one out of the fire they are in great shape if the meds hang on this series has evened up that two apiece and anything goes one out eighth inning three to two new york zobrist at second kane at first the banner will be eric hosmer [Applause] what's really important when you go into the playoffs is taking advantage of opportunity if you can take advantage of opportunity you're going to be in great shape a soft rapper to second murphy has it get under his glove come on come on out here right here right here right here here comes zobrist and this game is 3-3 in the eighth hell yeah now we're talking wow you talk about giving a game away after that play everyone in their stadium was kind of stunned we had tied the game you know two pitches later boom that's to the right side moose hits him in the mouth with another run that a boy you know when salvi gets a hit in the gap there it's just icing on the cake that's into right field that ball's gonna get down another run scores it's 5-3 [Applause] while daniel murphy's error turned game 4 in 2015. 30 years earlier there was another game turning moment but on that night an umpire was thrust into the spotlight welcome to kansas city for game six of the 1985 world series the cardinals three outs away from the second world championship in four seasons it was the ninth inning of game six the royals were down one nothing and the cardinals were three outs from the title when george orta led off we'll swim [Applause] from the dugout the play just it didn't look right so you know when don duncan sure said safe i'm going yeah i thought he was safe looks like he's out i don't think there's any doubt about it let's take a look from this one oh yes [Applause] well he was out so orta gets on and balboni is at the plate the city is ecstatic because they're the beneficiaries of the blown call had that happened in st louis god knows what would have taken place it wasn't a deciding call it was a very consequential call and everything after that went the royals way he pops it up and clark doesn't know where he is and can't make the play over there by first base that jack clark misplayed right and things started to change from there and started to snowball [Applause] hal mcrae comes up and there's a pass ball that gets away from corner and the runners move up advances those runners to second third they decide to go ahead and walk hal mcrae to load the bases and that's when dick hauser sends up dane orange the infield double play depth short and second and up at the corner hitting the right [Applause] it was game six it was not game seven and the people in kansas city realized it was game six the people in saint louis to this day still think it was game seven because they think they lost the world series on that call john tutor and brett saberhagen for being a match up tomorrow night after game six it was like okay we won this but now my focus is preparing for tomorrow now i've gotta focus on game seven fortune and perseverance thirty years apart a combination at the heart of two unforgettable royal comebacks that put both teams within a victory of the world series crown the 1985 baseball season ends in kansas city missouri as the winner of the world series is determined i got up that morning little antsy how do you get your mind off the game the chiefs were playing across the street i go over to the chief's game [Music] the kansas city royals a chance to clinch their first championship in 30 years i remember the bus ride to the park and everyone just talking about the you know the thought of winning the world series and if we win this one more game that's what can happen walk into john mcavoy suite who was the coach of the chiefs then and i walk in there there's whitey herzog so i sat next to whitey most of the game he looked at his watch about 2 30 and said come on we got to go he and i walked to the stadium together he turned left i turned right hey good luck good luck i said if we don't win i hope you do [Laughter] to win the franchise's first world series title brad and the 85 royals would have to beat the cardinals ace john tudor who'd already defeated kansas city twice in that world series the first couple times i faced john tutor don tutor pitched me kind of up and inside so my adjustment was to move away from home plate a little bit and modley [Applause] [Music] [Applause] it hooks foul i look down i see my back laying right there i picked it up by the barrel of the back and i went and i hit it on the turf like that and i heard the back go people don't know that that happened and i cracked the back they were wondering why am i changing the back how can you hit a ball that far and that hard and not want the same bat and i go back up there and the next pitch he throws it right there [Applause] into a two-nothing lead at the end of two three decades later the royals were trailing two-nothing late in game five of the world series at citi field with matt harvey dominating and looking for a complete game shutout there's been plenty of times we can relate back to comebacks throughout the season and come back throughout the postseason that we can relate to and and say you know we've done it before why not do it again [Applause] just kind of gives us the spark that we needed the time is now and this is possible let's get it going [Music] a little broken down one hopper to the left side right has it looks the runner back quota first runner coming home and dude his bad throw sails past darneau and hosmer scores to tie the game i just felt that it was the best opportunity for us to steal a run and to get back into that game the 2015 royals were looking to close out the world series in five games game seven in 1985 was never so tense with the royals up five nothing by the time the game reached the fifth once we got momentum going we just wanted to pile it on frustration was setting in for the cardinals whitey herzog knew that they probably were a better team than that but our pitching staff really cut them off brett saberhagen lost in the shuffle pitching brilliantly i remember guys coming back in the dugout and going come on let's let's make outs let's let's make outs because we want to celebrate we got this thing in in hand i remember the ninth inning somebody said whoever catches the last ball everybody pays him 25 bucks two hours i thought it was a hundred i thought it was a hundred and it's wilson and there's one out to go everybody asked me you know what did george say to you before that last batter antibiotic slide came up and he came up to me and he said listen when you get this guy out i want to be the first guy don't go running anywhere i want to be the first guy to grab you man it's like hits it and it's coming to me and i'm like this is this really happening the ball went up and i knew it wasn't out so i was ready to jump into his arms right then and he basically gave me that no it hasn't come down yet well we want to make sure that motley caught it a lot of pressure catching that last out to the kansas city royals are the 1985 world champions it was the best feeling i ever had in professional baseball the best feeling that you could ever want just being a world champion mike got the ball and he didn't get 25 bucks because nobody seemed to remember that at the end i'm still waiting for my money late on a sunday night 30 years later the royals needed one more breakthrough for the franchise's second world series title and in the 12th with the game still tied at two an unlikely hero stood at the plate christian colon has not batted this postseason swinging a line drive basic left field christian cologne has driven into rod dyson and the royals lead 3-2 in the 12th inning we all care so much about each other that we knew at any point anybody could be a hero what followed was almost reminiscent of their offensive outburst in 85. five runs in the 12th to take a commanding 7-2 lead once we scored those runs for me it was like the world series was over strike three call it's over they've done it the royals are world series champions it's been 30 years royals fans let's get the party started wow we realized how special kansas city was how much of a baseball town it was but i don't think anybody imagined 800 000 people waiting for us george brett in his second world series parade time of course says third baseman for the kansas city royals do you remember that in 85 it was just an amazing thing to see how a silly game of baseball that you've been playing since you were nine years old can just mold the town and you don't realize it until you win the world series something that the the city was just showed so much emotion and so much passion for for that team and still does to this day today with the number one in the whole world guys among the hundreds of thousands gathered to celebrate were the families of larry leggio and john mesh the kansas city firefighters who'd lost their lives in the line of duty a few weeks earlier the outpouring from the kansas city community has been tremendous [Music] i mean this has been you know three weeks ago and people still haven't forgotten about it one of his last promises he made to me was to get me to a playoff game and if they made the world series to get me to the world series he was there he was with me he was with my family he was with all the fire department he was with those players he got me there he promised he would always pulled through baseball means something in kansas city it always has even during all those years when another world series title didn't seem possible and from an improbable comeback in 1985 to all those incredible rallies in 2015 what might link casey's championship clubs isn't just excellence but the fans whose appreciation loyalty and belief in their team never faded away throughout our careers early on you just hear everybody in kansas city talk about how special this place can be if we can just bring a winning team back to the kansas city for us to finally do that it was just reassurance that all those people knew exactly what they were talking about because we surely made kansas city a baseball city i played on the 85 world championship team but after watching these guys play the last two years i want to congratulate them for two things winning the world series and becoming the greatest team in kansas city royal history these guys are the best team ever
