MLB 20 Road to the Show - Part 21 - First MLB Game (Called Up)

what's up guys and welcome back to our road to the show we made it baby March 24 2020 to the start of a brand new season our first season in the majors this is it man playing at home for our first game - we've got a series against the Tigers coming up and man things are gonna get excited we've got a full major league season ahead of us your boy is a starter I think they've got us we're batting like six through the lineup or something like that which isn't bad good for our first season and we're just we're gonna see we can do man here we go a cinder girl cut cinder guard on the mound to start off our first game and uh let's get it baby this is it whoa no way bro what a cool cool moment this would be can you imagine all that hard work all that time and effort that we put in all the blood sweat and tears finally about to go down we are a major league baseball player bro I'm so excited this is going to be awesome let's let's get into it enough of the sappiness got a two-seam four-seam slider and a changeup I've got a feeling things are gonna be a little bit different up here in the majors pitch of the at-bat definitely gonna be harder to hit definitely gonna be more more challenging opponent sends Dave Lawrence damn I don't know it's gonna be interesting to dish tonight that's close so that's gonna be a ball as well so here we go we're in the bottom of the second year one out and nobody on two outs to start off here matters who got us with that changeup we got out in front of us obviously that the nerves are getting to us a little bit here we definitely want to want to slow things down not get too excited and just kind of do our thing oh okay is that gonna be able to drop that might drop that's gonna drop he's out for it buddy kid are we to be able to go three I'm going three dude we got a triple on our first in battle no way bro that's what I'm talking about our first major league hit right there with a triple what was collective that is one way to break the ice in as is customary there's the ball being sent into the dugout someone will tuck it away for him to put in his trophy case there were freaking packed our stomach and stuff I'm sure he was just a ball of anxiety right there trying to play but a rip that one you can bet inside his head he's a nice little head we'll take it I love it man those cleats look good I like the orange in the blue all right here we go let's see if we could get home what do you say here oh one count looks like something might happen here comes the oh one come on baby that's lifted the other way he's gonna batting helmet you flex a little bit pick up the RBI let's go dude all right that's what I'm talking about it looks like did we get a relationship bonus for uh for being aggressive there and getting him the RBI I hope so it'd be pretty cool here we go first defensive play see if we could get a stop shoot I did not mean to press that one but we got him with the wrong way but we're okay you guys saw the camera kind of twisted a little bit I just I was I was confused and it was it was not good I we're I'm just making up excuses at this point we're good here we go now one for one of the day team's got a one-run lead here in the bottom of the pit to seem course--you slider changeup same guy here in store for us here let's hang in there be patient inside the store wait for our pitch and and do our thing here babying this guy throws of moves and that two seamer has a mind of its own that's outside to do the the pitches are quicker that's for sure we get a couple of perks active here I'm pretty sure we have we're close to having perks that we're gonna be able to unlock zoom out I know we have a third-tier perk and I think we might have or might be close to a four tier bird makes it so far our heart and soul skill trees so we're gonna have to check that out soon button so alright looking like I like that I'm sure he wanted to nip I like that that right-center field halogen found a couple of gaffers here he came in Gaza and here we go no outs next will be 1-1 count I'm gonna nobody try stealing here at sac-fly earlier see what happens win back to back get back get back get back get back we're good okay what we need to start doing cuz I do want to keep stealing and I'm actually curious we can't do it yet we need to turn it off so that it skips until action happens you know what I mean we might be good here he might strike out I was a good job he got a piece of that I'm gonna I'm gonna fly around third I'm gonna stay at third fly around second to third and I'm gonna stay at that there we go announcing runners on the corners nice little single there from Corey Lee his first major league hit okay has just got a couple of new guys coming in here it leads love to see it miles straw being sent into the dugout suit you got a 3-2 count here yeah good for him a full count it could be interesting looks like they will most likely turn two and that's gonna shut down the end who's there the inning is over that's unfortunate I thought we're gonna be able to get around a second time there here we go at the plate numbers i ballgame here in the top of the seventh we've got a double play opportunity let's get it that's gonna be going to second base second to short to first there it is in picture-perfect it's gonna be able to shut that thing down here we go boys our next at-bat man two for two in the day feeling pretty good got a guy on first base no outs here in the bottom of the seventh to seen four seams slider changeup same dude the first pitch that four seam okay I like to look at it I like the way it looked but obviously was not the right way the right place there nothing in one count late on the second four seam up oh man down ode to an account this is not where you want to be I'm gonna be honest with that that you guys see the the Houston Astros like garden wall behind him it's really it's really light and it makes it a little bit harder to see the the ball coming in makes it harder to see the little movements and stuff dang it dude we're gonna strike out I I think I got in my head a little bit but I honest at I don't like that grass thing in the background we're gonna have to do something about that especially midday when that Sun is bearing down on it that thing was was bright a.m. but it looks like we are actually gonna lose our first game unfortunately I feel like we had a pretty good pretty good showing two three would have preferred not to strike out by minutes today so I'd start this rookie major leaguer gets a small alright so congrats in your first major league hit Rick tell us what you had going through your head I was just doing my job out there I was like wow I'm really here dreams do come true this will be the first of many or it felt great that ball is definitely going on the mantle I'm gonna say ooh we're at the highest tier for personality heart and soul that's good so we're gonna start working on captain now I'm just doing a job out there man is it a confidence builder knowing you're capable of holding your own against major league pitching um I already have confidence you ain't seen nothing yet baby thanks Rick keep it up no I was a bit of a bold statement there but it's good to stay confident it's good to kind of feel yourself sometimes let's get it as long as we can back it up we can say whatever we want baby you know what I mean sell way here we go bottom of the second we got a guy on first base no outs for seams sliders circle change of the curveball let's see if we can keep this up we're baton baton 600 so far on the season after just one game I don't know what we were swinging out right there Travel honestly here we go it's darker out you're gonna be able to see the ball a bit better it's not all like Larry and bright and shiny behind us let's get into it here let's focus up it and they come into game two with a chance let's smack this ball that was a nasty curve to see movement on that behind the plate and we crushed it but we're a lady bro you better be ready to swing with Matt walks behind the dish big zone yeah you know comes back to this point you better pull there we got something to count all right we're good punch your ticket don't worry about it Korea on it let's go nobody out come on baby checks safe started to go there it is we got that plate vision baby I mean is his pictures are moving quite a bit I'm gonna be honest they look good until the very end then they don't look good so 3 2 counting here at full count pitch coup the circle change I think we're out in front of it a little bit and on top of it that's alright come on baby Circle change out in front of it again I mean I'm gonna stay alive all day let's just wear his arm something fantastic all right I'm gonna I'm gonna look for driving in a run here I feel the confident misty I feel a confident I think what I just said I'm not sure here we go we didn't get some pitch at bat that last one for seams slider circle change to curve two guys on Sean it's one guy out that's a slider pretty good one the call for a ball will take it has anything to do with walking to last cruciate it on me although umpires don't give you much of the corners I thought would have gotten by that third baseman there that would have been a good hit for us we're okay bottom of the sixth down by one I'm gonna power swing to advance a runner here we're doing nothing but power swings four seam sliders circle change the curve here we go same pitcher she's got a stay patient in a fastball there's got to stay pacing baby one Oh counts it's a ball none knows I'm crushing this pitch this is where you guys just wake in this situation it's happening just your batting block that's low realize you owe count or this guy from first it's just something backing them into a trap here on to the guy behind you and keep the line moving and then we let it rip baby that was it really much of a rip I mean we got a piece of it we power so I in advance of the runner but we're on top of it and kind of chopped it down a little bit to the outfield not exactly the outcome that we wanted but we'll take it least from baseman we got it done here we go come on court from second with a base hit into the outfield two to count here he's gonna have a written or this one right over the second base I can say he's got it to end the inning so we're still down by one hopefully to be able to change something here you get a guy on first base I'm gonna say uh only swing it pitches inside the zone and advance runner in first let's get it for seams slider and a changeup this should be easy enough let's be the hero let's be the hero here in the bottom of the ninth trip home rattle no shut this down it's a walk-off come on we'll take it that might time that might tie the ballgame up he's not gonna go home dude what is he doing why would you not go home with a single swing the baton this might be the I wish we could abuse it could have been on first there we definitely would have scored all right 2 2 count we've got three guys with the tips here I good and the winning run all I need to do is get a cross home plate that is all I need I just need somebody to get a single somebody to do something come on come on Hernandez oh they intentionally walked shoots and they're gonna go for the double play he's hitting 429 ok it's worth 4 home runs and I mean that's smart dish and makers in the duck ad will give them a free pass to first so the bases are soo all the attention walking sOooo this Oh 4 3 of the day he's got a 2 2 count here if you're gonna step up now this now's the time brother and he's not going to he's gonna strike out as well we've got one more chance miles draw 2 for 3 in the day Oh to count back against the wall brother please don't strike out last strike now for Houston to the right side got it got it baby let's go yes and that all started from your boy oh my goodness oh my goodness let's go miles that's what I'm talking about bro that was so clutch and the air from the right fielder there the way to make contact and score that tying run but he lets it go dude just lit the gap right there little fumble of the glove your boy wasn't stopping regardless that was going all the way around baby that's what I'm talking about exciting win for our second game let's see what happens in game 3 and this is the player of the game all they're showing is my super late swing double at the end of the game I don't I don't know if that's player of the game material but we'll we'll take it baby and we did score the winning run I guess I guess we'll take that man feels good dude let's go boys bro we are only two games into this this new season and I I need to calm down I'm I'm gonna have some heart palpitations or something bro things are so exciting here we go coming up to bat got a guy on third base we're already up to - nothing that's what I like to see team forcing slider changeup on the game to see him in a 12-6 curve we got one on through check that five times in a row not swinging at that jump good let's get it bro it's about this dude home 3 295 miles at minimum what she's good like I mean a sacrifice fly or something you don't have be in his gun sacrifice out every year if he's throwing strikes early you got to to perks active here - ohh leading the count I'm gonna be able to get a piece of that or you know what just get a nice little single with the RBI we'll take that two scores from there we go they extend their that's a good rip honestly not about it off and hitting right there key well I'm surprised we didn't get a better better contact I feel like we completely did just had pretty good time a little bit drives in a run and kind of predicted where the oh shoot manager asked us to steal I pressed it and it didn't go sometimes if you go too fast it doesn't actually send you so we're not gonna be in his good graces now unfortunately he's running with a steel here that's gone okay we'll take it guess it's not gonna matter at the end of the day baby that's that's another quick three runs that we've added to this lead that's what I'm talking about Cory Lee's coming up clutch first major league home run man it's gonna be an exciting day once we're able to do that stepping up 8'o lead here and we are just in the second inning bottom of the second got a guy in scoring position on second this guy is getting absolutely rocked bro you know his ego has been run through the dirt he is struggling right now still got a decent amount of confidence I don't know how I mean when we're swinging at stupid pitches like that maybe I mean I was it a stupid pitch to swing at but it was just a bad timing on the pitch I misread it there that's low but close dude you guys can see I mean like I can't see the ball as well and I'm not trying to make excuses but that that grass back splash I just don't understand why you would do that [Applause] first major league home run I can't wait till we do that is that what I said what what timing dude are you kidding me whoo we hit it off of him what stadium he was playing in and he'll remember it all absolutely ridiculous man third game at home home run forever let's go dude that's what I'm talking about the squad is just absolutely destroying these guys currently that's gonna give us say yeah what is that it a 1000 lead do that thing it didn't even really have an arc that was just drilled I thought it was gonna bounce off the that was good it bounced off the scoreboard our teammates pretending like they don't care not celebrating with us controlling us that's great - that's just great all right coming up to bat bottom of the fourth - no lead get a guy on first base Corsi curveball slider changeup at a to see Homer relaunched that's inside of the knees gonna lay off that one Leiter not close here is he missed with it down and in it's ball one that's outside buddy's gonna call it as the strike I have an a at the corner we'll give him that I don't really want to swing it's tough on the outskirts like that anyway come on bro you weren't even close on timing let alone location honestly the pitches are harder to see you know they move a lot more they come in quicker like they're tougher pitches to hit in this game and we need to focus up we can't sit here in joke and talk and laugh a hundred percent of the time like we've really rolled so far two for three in this one that's high we're gonna lay off that one yeah and sometimes like I'm all excited cuz I hit the home run it'll not really pay to teach you we gotta focus up there in the zone hey I get it he's looking for some of these pitches like day I feel like they move way more than they did before - one-two count there's a swing and a drive hittin well out - light-filled racing back the right fielder and it's let's go baby that's too old runs I thought I was gonna strike out I was not fairly confident but we got it done oh my goodness bro solo shot not one but two it's a BOGO sale today fellas buy one get one get that is out of here do they have way better camera angles and stuff for these games probably because the stadiums are more detailed and stuff compared to the minor leagues and I feel like all the cutscenes with Stowers timing is perfect man you think the Astros are feeling pretty good about their decision to call us up I would imagine so I would imagine they're they're pretty high to how everything's going currently in this one so we'll see what else he has in store here that was close I kind of wanted to swing at it but if it's early in the count what will lay off those one oak count bottom of the seventh one out checked it checked it checked it next swing appealed at first and umpire Matthew Ross says you went around umpire Matthew Ross is a dingleberry dude come on it's fine it's whatever we've got first major league strike there are so many first major league things happening here that was a bad at-bat Trev honestly just got it you got to keep it real but you didn't do very well on that one but that's okay this is interesting we've got like the Sun and the shade kind of playing tricks on us be able to turn to here nice glove throw their little draw up toss we'll take that one more out is going to close up this game for good looks like we got it done alright dude so we I mean I think we played really well I'm happy with how we performed today I do think there's some we've got to work on we really need to kind of focus up a little bit more I feel like we're starting to swing at some wild pitches I don't know if I'm just in a weird mood today or if it's the nerves of getting called up or what but we weren't really as composed as we are normally so I'll see you guys in the next episode hoping we're gonna be able to work on that improves and some and so next time thanks watch it for Mark DeRosa
