MLB 20 Road to the Show - Part 12 - MY FIRST HOME RUN!

it's time to hit the bench press baby it's time to start getting swole we're gonna start working on that power and we're gonna see if we could start jacking up some homeruns so here we go you're supposed to hit l1 and r1 on the way up alternating I'm not sure how many of these were supposed to get to be able to get gold or get our max or whatever we got bronze at 4 so it's obviously gonna be more than 4 this is definitely starting to get a little a little more intense a little bit tougher we've got a whole minute to be able to do it so I think we've got a silver there what do we think 10/10 might be gold ooh the controller's starting to rumble come on baby come on Tripp come on Tripp do the alternating part is the hard part come on chef Carl Joe get that tin oh we got two we got gold baby let's go let's let's flex it out do one more one little burnout come up come up get in there oh my gosh that is actually a hard work I'm not gonna lie all right not bad at all we'll take it ten reps is gonna give us a go add to our gains you love to see those gains a fast developing young player has gotten the attention of the higher-ups and management Rick you've really come out of nowhere to emerge as a notable prospect in this organization people are noticing and talking well coach I'm barely getting started prospects may not realize how closely they are being watched and by other organizations as well as their own well guys this is it to the the minor league a championship a hear down and the double-a let's get it it's the end of our season and I figured we had a chat he's set now the pitch now a big swing and this ball is crushed forget it long gone homerun my first home run I kind of messed up the intro to the game and I was gonna redo it and then the pitch started coming in so it was too late so I just had to react what I was going to say is that you know we've been siming we want to get up to the triple-a we want to you know kind of advance our career and stuff visiting teams scoreless but I didn't want to skip the championship up see the end of our very first professional baseball season and that is our first home run coming at the weirdest time but I'll take it baby let's go gonna be turning to here or gonna be going straight back to the bag to second for one got him Elena first let's go that's how we do it beautiful work holy cow what is just transpired here in the last couple of seconds that was insane our first-ever home run you boy just walked up to the plate and shot it out of the park and now we've got a four-run lead that is another hard-hit ball stop it stop it on the warning track he makes the catch what is happening right now this is insane I guess this is you know after swimming through a season and working on our power working at our places and stuff like that I haven't touched the difficulty the difficulty is I think it's on a variable slider so like the better we do the harder it gets but dude this is insane alright here we go let's focus up Trev Wow very very jittery umpire right there I'll take that in the weather but anyway yeah like your safety and right now let me let me just kind of get this shock out of my system right now we are here and the first game of a five-game series of the championship for the double-a league division whatever you want to call that one so I mean it's the first team to three wins I'm hopeful we're gonna be able to win three in a row here we'll see what happens you guys know we've been we've been thinking about advancing all the way through triple-a we haven't exactly had the best luck with itwe left we kind of got traded and we didn't move up and made a lateral move in our episode and cell I was thinking about swimming all the way through the fact that we made it to the championship I felt like it was worth playing out it was worth seeing what happened and it was worth just kind of experiencing this as the end of our first professional we'll see what happens hopefully our gonna be able to get a win here you do so have a four run or a four to one run lead run lead here good to be trying to turn to if we can looks like it's gonna be going straight to short tailor-made double play there it is 643 that's what I'm talking about lady this point in the ballgame is there are quickly - all right I'm coming up to bat here after a pretty hot day so far for it traffic can't imagine the umpires will let this good let me go ahead and let that one go by maybe that was gonna be a ball I'm gonna get some outside change maybe there make sure you don't step in a poodle I think it's time to get the grounds crew out and ease back easily they're talking about delaying this game due to the rain it is raining pretty hard I'm not gonna lie I'm gonna guess that hi for Steve again see if he tries to bring the heat she was a curve ball I tried to check it and we just went out number two all the way around yeah that's just a punch they're gonna end up beating us are you serious all right well we're down oh one in the series we've got to win three of the next four unfortunate loss there but so we're going to come in here to Game two and it looks like we've got a good opportunity on our hands here in the bottom of the first we've got two men on and one man out I'm gonna advance a runner within the first three pitches I'm feeling confident baby we hit our first home run right there this might be number two for seams slider curveball changeup at a two seam fastball get in here it is that's inside at the knees nearly took up my my kneecaps there bro one can't be upset by that we tried there we go top the third we do have a one-run lead so that's good got a guy on first base here and let's see if we can can make a double play just going to be going packing first pitch of the at-bat line drive to left and exactly that's what I was thinking of something that would bounce off the wall is he going to turn the corner he is are they gonna be out again no they are not actually pretty good throw but so we had enough on it that we are gonna be able to get that guy around the bases all right 200 lead here feeling pretty good we got a full count oh no I'm not gonna try anything crazy we're not gonna try three two not gonna try running or anything it's ball four that looked like a strike to me I'm not gonna lie all right Callum week we got a 2-1 is count it baby manager challenges his players to improve their championship odds by seizing a win in a crucial swing game alright sounds good to me you got a swing game ahead of us and we're getting double points for our clutch plays I would have met I mean I feel like I say this all the time but I would imagine a good performance here is gonna be good for our track record good for our resume to be able to be called up hopefully in the next episode we'll keep our fingers crossed but I mean we played well in the all-star game we are one of the top hitters in the entire league I mean we're just kind of a beast if you want me to be honest CEL upping in we're just gonna keep adding to our history keep giving people a reason to look at us and pay attention to us and I guess it's gonna be up to them to make those decisions but there we go first out for the out of the game gonna be going on us let's go ahead and skip ahead till we get to bat think we're gonna be leading off the second here guy's got a lot of confidence in his curve this pitch I guess the low curves to start I'm gonna keep guessing the high for seems though if we get one of those coming in we know it's pretty much a offering it's gonna be a four seamer right up the middle and that's gone centerfielder on the run no it's not he's got it a nice play there - I should put my arms down just gonna walk back to the first pitch so I'm I'm gonna wait he's feeling pretty good we can get something better hook for him to try and get on something and drive it out of the yard this safe I like those high pitches the shoulder catch like that just makes it no questions asked it does look like I mean even that we're hitting the ball where it is not in a one feeding on bases we're hitting it well it looks like our teammates are are picking up the slack for us to second got the lead runner we aren't gonna get both that's we are up 4 to 0 so it looks like we could potentially take a 2 run lead on the series a two to one lead not to run to 1/4 seam side of curveball to see one for four so far on the game we'd like to pick this up a little bit for seam cracking drive to center if he's gonna be right at that centerfielder though Morales Mann's there one quick out to start inning number 9 I mean we're trying but I'm a little bit earlier this one can't always have your perfect game hey we got the win that's all I'm worried about if we can win - one more job we got the ship with one game about to decide a league championship an experienced manager shares a moment of levity with the young team he has come to cherish priceless experience you are getting boys this experience will serve you later on win or lose that said it's a lot more fun to go into an offseason as a champion than a runner-up let's go dude they say we didn't play we didn't play in that the next game so it is a 2 2 count in the series right now next game whoever wins this game wins a championship are you kidding me dude the pressure to lose in a man to sail the distance but a tie ballgame the bottom of the 8th got a guy on first base poor seam slider curveball a two seam just a young boy in a dream dream to join the PGA Tour just swinging it out in the dirt come on trav that you could do is probably just pocus out it could be a double play ball yeah take it dude first easily almost okay base hit infield single we've got two men on and oh one count here I mean we're gonna have to play this smart I really hope he doesn't ground into a double play a ball that's carrying tank line second is gonna the catch second is gonna tag up there we got runners on the corners I would imagine the managers gonna send us here please send us handing in moving Davidson no hits in three tries so far I'm taking off because we're not showed we showed composure we showed clutch this we have been with I can't think you know we led the league in batting average that sort of thing like I can't think that we especially we can hope for much of us you know I mean I really wish the second to last at-bat could have not been a pop-up that is one big please regret on my end but I I feel like we didn't and I feel like that's a good legacy to leave here to double-a and I'm gonna see you guys tomorrow in our next episode we were in the triple so we'll see where we end up impact on the we'll see if we get traded we'll see what happens it's a shame for sure but it's just the game ain't mad at it we're gonna bounce back from this even stronger and I'll see you guys there
