11 and eight with like seven minutes left what was the eight your ass down I think eight was assist and then um literally seven minutes left and I got subbed out damn you go right you go back in at all I go back in yeah and but was the score like a good was it a good game a decent game but like also we had Dennis Smith we had Luka like oh so you just wasn't playing because you was weak at the time at that moment I'm just I thought like it's we're going to do this now I'm go off I was just no I'm gonna wait I'm gonna wait I'm wait I'm wait I was just I was just asking I thought like the mainline so basically 10 minutes from Nova North Philly no my f was from West Philly oh okay my mom moved me out to suburb second grade um so I lived out I live in suburb second grade till you know college and all that and Nova was close all my friends I grew up with Nova fans I was actually a Duke fan um just playing basketball and then 11th grade 11th grade summer you know last year ebl I got an offer from Nova that's when all the offers started to come in and I don't know I kind of went to go visit and it just made sense I didn't like I didn't take really no official visits anywhere I look I went to a couple unofficials at like Temple Penn State like just kind of local and uh shoot man like I I liked I like Nova and Ash Ash actually was at Xavier at the time and he was recruiting me and I was like nobody going Xavier bro like I love them as a recruiter though I'm like I ain't going out there though but I appreciate you and then something happened like maybe a week later he ended up leaving Xavier and got a job at Nova so it was just like oh okay I'm like oh I messed with you when you you was there but I wasn't going to go there but now you come to Nova it makes sense and I'm already like these dudes so I remember I went to campus met in coach's office Billy Lang was there at the time he was big he was a big recruiter for me yeah it's crazy I I I I freaking I commit and then he GNA leave he go to Sixers the next thought of so L went on campus went on campus and went on campus and committed like fast I was just like yeah I want to be here and it was it was such an easy decision because close to home school's great like and it's to basketball school that was another thing I like Penn State cuz a lot of my friends went to pen state state was amazing bro that visits oh my God but was just like Ergo they was sh me they sh me too much football stuff to where when I walked out I'm like remember I was walking back to my car I'm like am I football recruit I'm like I'm like I Ain playing for Franklin buddy like I'm here to play basketball I don't seem like it's you get too much love in the basketball you show me so much football I met a coach Franklin yeah we lost we lost L lost State anyway I came to the hotel and I had I hadn't met you yet and I see I remember it was either him or Chris was like dragging you through the hallway by like your neck you were skinny as hell a Fred sh freshman give him a break I don't think boys though we was we was bigie that that time you know how me Josh was really close we got real close after you threw me to the ground for real yeah you know how I uh you know how I found out y'all lost that game cuz I wasn't there yet obviously I was a senior in high school were you already committed I was already y'all made up for I will say Obviously you had good years in Nova good they lost yeah we lost you they L they lost he was not there they lost um You Good Year obviously red shirted you know and then you was right back at it two chips do y'all think that 18 team yes knew I'm not going okay do y'all think like I say that that team might be top five best college teams oh so you're skipping over the 16 vers 18 I mean he knew that that's what's happening you knew that um little realiz old we're going to battle like we're just we're just not going to have that not be a be I'm giving y I'm telling y' one of the best college te y'all had y'all too Eric who made the league Amari who the first rounder Tay who's obviously in the league was there four years Colin in the league boof who's had great college career M you know doing very successful overseas um Mayo Mayo in the leag May was so I mean y'all had y'all had a squad so would y'all put y'all up there where like I would say I'm trying to think y'all had a I would say y'all had a hell of a tournament run y'all beat the sh out everybody except for West Virginia are we putting the question is are we putting in teams that only won national championships yeah cuz I think there's a lot of teams that like were good they don't count I would say in terms of teams that made like that went the distance top 15 top 10 being realistic obviously I'm going fight and say yo we're the best ever but like I mean you were a player of the decade last year okay last decade play the decade oh boy I would say top 15 because there's some crazy team there's some crazy teams yeah but we are not I I I like that though CU I think about that too I thought about that all the time and then like you said that question you asked him I still think about the teams that didn't win I'm Mike first thing that comes to mind is Kentucky yeah Kentucky see they had a platoon they had 10 players I don't know how they didn't win bro it didn't who they lost to Frank Frank my boy tank I ain't going to lie boy cuz they was undefeated I was hype as hell Wisconsin one I was like I hate these Kentucky that was sophomore year right that was our fresh that was my freshman year um yeah I think it was I was actually at Ruckers I was I was visiting my my my now wife I was and I was watching it on my phone and I'm over there praying on Kentucky downfall Bry I did not want them to prosper that was hilarious but it's it's cool cuz obviously like there's so many guys that's we we've had a good good run of like Nova guys that's that's made it to the league and it's cool being able to like compete against each other yeah and I was and you being right across the bridge yeah nice right across do you ever get fomo seeing all the seeing all the the Nova guys like the finals that like we watched on TV and I don't know I kind of try to let myself you know be in a moment and try to like experience it but it didn't feel like when I watch TV and it's like it's the NBA Finals you know what I'm saying like watching like LeBron on them dudes and watching like those games didn't really feel like that is it maybe because both teams was their first time there maybe that's why because usually watch like Bron's been there for six years straight or like I didn't watch it on TV so maybe like the broadcasting made it you know more of the finals but I didn't feel too much I think it was just trying to win it and I remember going up 2 Josh feeling good JB Maddie go up 20 I'm I'm ready I'm like oh I up 20 yeah they were up 20o they were two against us too I know so we was good I was like oh we about to win the chip cuz look especially in the west especially then like the West all had tough teams east we were like East really like whatever you know and we we what we beat the Lakers and then beat Clippers or beat Denver which just joic and then Clippers series so we beat all the West teams you know I thought the West Was tougher than East we go see that big purr no cat she worked in the office at Nova Nova yeah she was the manager yeah like she worked up in top office she was actually escorting me to where to go and I remember I was I was geeked up just got the media and I'm about to go take pictures I know where I see her and somebody else like kind of whispering like talking to each other you know so now I'm just looking like you know what I'm saying they kind of like look at me and they kept I'm like what's going on and they're like oh nothing we're just trying to figure out kep again I'm like no no no like you like what's up like um I think it might be a potential trade with um with you and Philly I'm like where though so now I'm thinking something I'm like okay where I get traded to I know some people I talk to they're like Phoenix I was like who I'm like Phoenix I don't know the coach I don't know the gym I don't know the owner I didn't talk to no only person I know about Phoenix is book because he was he's my class in high school that's all I knew and I'm like Phoenix I'm like I know nothing about Phoenix nothing and I knew it was weak as hell I'm like I come we championship team bro I'm supposed to be built to piece the win so I'm like what so I was hot only thing that was cool oh and da got drafted number one I met da at uh the college Awards when we went at the end of the season our senior year so I saw hell coach re actually stopped and talked to me and was at the end of it was like honestly like you know you did a great job with all that you know with that happening and keeping a a good face and happy for if I was I was mad at myself at that point but yeah I didn't go out went to Phoenix early morning and it took me like a couple like a day at when I got to Phoenix at night when I got when I got drunk and top golf where I kind of like open up to myself it was like bro like you went top 10 bro like let that go like obviously you you wanted to go to this place or this place and it didn't work out like who gives a damn like you you know you're at this spot that you never thought you'd be you know what I'm saying like I always thought League one day but top 10 is you know it's crazy to you know I guess this all happened for a reason cuz she s with coach at the table so so coach was end up telling me that they called him like a day before the draft like randomly about me he's like he's like he had a weird feeling about like he's like I should have said something to you I'm like yeah but uh he said he had a weird feeling that because they called him like the night before the draft like just one question and just like that was it so her first reaction was C if I checked on me but she was hot but but she's pretty sick and she got out of there so you got traded there where were you to KD trade where you figured that one out I was in Atlanta I was in Atlanta I'm in a hotel it's probably 1:00 in the morning you was at a hotel or you was at Magic Hotel okay want to make sure chilling um I was with d my boy D was just with me he left went upstairs and Del calls me you know I'm thinking he just pulled I'm like first time I see him call me I'm like he just left like 10
