Some quality Mustaine riffs in this one.
Riffs mimic machine gun fire, which fits with โmilitia.โ
I heard a lot of people complaining about how it fades out, but I think it's good that way. It's kind of like they're leaving for now, but they'll be back soon and better than ever. It's still my favorite ending of any of their songs.
This song is very underrated, the riffs are unique and the roughness of Jamesโs voice works very well. Good closer.
Pretty good closing song. Iโll have to apply the obligatory โI barely listen to KEAโ tag on this one, but I have a decent time when I give this a listen. Jamesโ screechy vocals are actually pretty nice for once, and the riffs have a uniquely โpumped-upโ feeling, perfect for a closing song. I think the fade-outโs pretty weird, though, I could do without it.
I ranked this second to last in this list of closing songs I made. While this isnโt a definitive ranking, and my opinions arenโt necessarily set in stone, Iโd attribute this songโs low ranking to how rarely I feel motivated to listen to it. I find most of the other songs (except for the last song of my favorite full-length album, ironically) generally more interesting.
Never really a song I seek out, but I always enjoy it if it comes on through shuffle play or listening to KEA. Seek and Destroy would have been a better closer IMO, but Metal Militia still works.
8/10
One of the first songs I heard from the band back in '08. Very fond memories.
reminds me of fight fire with fire, great album closer. very underrated
