Probably my favorite Metallica songs of all time. So much energy and just an amazing way to kick off one of the greatest albums ever!
Amazing album opener with a good galloping riff. Great interlude as well.
My 5th Metallica song. I remember when I was 9, playing this on Rock Band 2 constantly. I played the drums, and I found this song really fun because it was hard to play, and thatโs what I liked. This is a great song that will always hold a special place in my heart, because it was the first thrash song Iโve ever heard.
I remember the first time I heard this one. At that point the only song I had heard from this album was the title track, so I was expecting it to be just as thrashy. I was really disappointed when it started and there was just acoustics, and I almost clicked off and didn't listen to the rest. But something made me continue listening, and then the electric guitars kicked in and I started liking it.
Then...1:06 happened.
Sold for life. 10/10.
New album! Letโs go! The intro to this song is perfect for the album. It starts with a pleasant clean riff, then jumps into distorted guitars with the same melody, then there are these really cool four chords which lead into the blistering main riff.
I donโt really love to listen to the main riff, but itโs really cool and impressive that theyโre able to write something like that and play it live without skipping a beat.
The little solo after the first chorus is really awesome, too. Better than the actual solo.
After the second chorus is a really cool riff that they havenโt played live in forever (except for once in Fillmore), and then a cool drum fill, and then, like Frayed Ends, the song just gets boring from there. At least, for me. I think this is a good song, I just donโt really love it. Good/10.
Heaviest song on MoP definitely.
Love the classical guitar intro, then the ungodly good MOP tone kicks in.
My cousin gave this cassette to my back when I was 16. It was too hard for her, she said. I had never heard of them. I put it in my cassette player. This is the very first song that i ever heard of them. After that I was hooked. This was the summer of 1986. Still remember it like it was yesterday. This song holds a special place to me.
One of their best. Starts pretty relaxed and ends with full thrash inferno.
