all right and welcome back to the do tour here in Long Beach this is the 2018 do tour and we are talking all about men's park today and also about men's Street I am joined here in the booth by Andrew Cannon and crispy oestrus gentlemen today it's already been pretty crazy I mean we've seen what went down there and men's park was pretty nuts and now we move on to men's Street qualifier big names what's happening here give us the lowdown I mean the crazy one with this contest is we got 25 skaters and it's basically as if there's no small names in this right past wrestling yeah I just tried to pick a couple names and it was so difficult because everyone's gnarly on this list I mean you talk origami we're we're gonna be looking out for you know the cool thing about this course is it's really unique and it's got a hole it's got a lot of rails and I talk to guys like Malik Medeiros and yeah guys like Alec who are so good at it at the rails they're really excited well here's the way this thing is going to work we've got twenty five skaters broken down into five heats each skater will get two runs your best run counts you're gonna try to score as high as you can on the way to 100 points 60-second run time and we'll pick the top eight to the final so 60 seconds on this course is that a long time short time give me the middle lowdown well the course has a lot of good flow I was talking to a bunch of the skaters out there and that was one thing they're really excited about a couple people have said it's a bit cramped but at the same time it's just it's really nice to be able to get a lot of tricks in and you know what I've kind of noticed too is that it's we have that courses before here at do tour they were broken down like you're moving on to the rails course in the gaps course it is really cool to see this one just encompass everything yeah one of the nice things here is every everywhere you go you're popping off concrete so that was a really big exciting thing for all the skaters you know because they're used to popping off wood on a lot of the stuff and so to make that change radically improves you know just the overall course itself and and just put people at home that don't know what the difference is between popping up wood and concrete what would you say the easy way to describe that I think I mean obviously the density you know so it's if you take a skateboard and smack it against of wood smack it against some concrete just it's just a lot snap yeah you know it's a little difficult to describe on that but it just allows for for you to really market more control yeah let's rebound well let's break down the course Chris pass just why don't you give us a course description what we got here sure yeah it's a huge course I'm pretty excited to see what the guys have here let's take a look at some of the obstacles there there you see massive bag the bump to bar section kink rail double kink rail the down rail kind of a flat rail to a long hand round then we have our hip into the text section like Andrew said lots of handrails lots of flat bars about to tech obstacles there's our six stair double set nice big Latin legend over there some big gaps bump to flat and there's our bump to bump and our euro gap huge course but the guys have 60 seconds so plenty of time to attack it and so the big the big takeaway from this year's detour is that we've kind of done away from the one pass one way back the other way it's more just opened it up you're just skating it the way that you would skate a normal park set up or Street course set up for just anyone at home absolutely that you know a lot of these guys are so stoked on the run format just because it's really classic in skateboarding you know skatepark of Tampa Tampa Pro Tampa am they still all run that format so a lot of these guys are excited about it especially when you have a course that flows well less pressure more pressure Chris when you get to gets more pressure you do know you can be more inconsistent with the jam format and just throw out super difficult tricks and you get a lot of street guys that aren't traditional contest skaters doing well in jam format but in runs you got to stick everything all right well here are the heats Heat number one we have Chris Colfer and a Trent McClung Alex Midler Manny Santiago and axel Kreuzberg and that I mean there's I'm looking at this list here and just like you guys were saying it is so heavy all the way down and that cut to eight is is going to be a very challenging prospect I mean look at these heats right here mhm in ski this is the who's who of skateboarding here in this if you paid attention to modern skateboarding Street skating these are the dudes they're all here and these guys are all so consistent and so good that every time every 60 seconds you're seeing what would be considered video part tricks back in the day as far as like you know Park obstacles yeah non-stop I'm excited too with how international the field is you know it's really cool skateboarding has always been really worldwide but it's rad to see everybody coming together at all the different events and so this is this is gonna be pretty amazing yeah we got we got we got Tokyo Vancouver we got Brazil we got all over the place here I'm gonna put you guys in the spot here Chris pastors who's your who's your pick oh man my just give me one you just getting anyone I'd say look out for youto where'd it go man yeah how about you you know it is so difficult we got guys like Vinson Malou you got Jamie Foy now I'm just playing that political thing you know what I'm gonna go youto her go me or even potentially Kelvin Hoffler I'm gonna say Jamie Freud because he's just it seems like he gets more motivated by just you know everybody else's stoke and he's just such a he's such a powerhouse and this course has some kind of bigger feature because they do it great started with that backside flip nice switch runs that board side there Chris Cornell qualified in yesterday he won the amateur event here at the Dew Tour that's why he's skating in the pro contest hopefully this is just a sign of things to come for him new nollie 180 fakie 50 was so sick yet cookie you know a lot of lot of the Amma's were missing three flips yesterday up down the course and I was like what is going on here and they said it was really windy down there got it so they're all kind of battling some wind he's like always just having fun I don't think he really plans runs this is a lot different than his run in the am he just kind of freestyles it it's fun to watch what's great about Chris is he is such a creative skater so he's gonna find lines out there he's gonna do different tricks you know he's not here to get fifth place if he's going for it he's going a hundred percent all in percent let's talk about Chris in that run I mean we saw some crazy stuff and we kind of talked about it earlier today that if you fall it's okay you just got to back up that fall with some real hard-hitting trick like this nollie flip in so insane on the quarter pipe there yet cookie this is unfortunately where it went wrong caught with the front foot Freebo we know [Applause] so each one of these guys gets a second crack at it 61 it's gonna be you know a relatively low score I'm assuming we're gonna see scores up in the 80s for the top guys maybe even the 90s there's his best friend Jordan Maxim shout out to Jordan another mountain dew Pro epic dude love those cats Vermont represent here we go second in here Tremec long trend not traditionally a contest ski just works yeah the McClung brothers have been on it on a tear the last couple years in skateboarding the whole trio pack noseblunt that was insane it was really light footage almost like he was going for an over cribs [Music] recovered well for having a fall at the beginning of his run yeah something like that can definitely throw the skaters off Chris how much would you say this is mental versus you know help how much it's like I get well-trained not ready to go yeah it's a combination of the two man I'd say it's 5050 skill and just you know mental just relaxation staying calm cool collected look at that you know they're just complete head cases in contest situation but like you know you just have a session and they don't miss a trick yes it's the pressure man it's just being out there being alone all right we'll talk us through a couple Falls here miss that front feeble lock in with the front board and kicked out see him going for the nollie cab looks like he landed a little bit to tow heavy his balance was off but he had some good tricks in there I mean he capped it off with a kickflip front crook on the ledge which to do that in the contest run is super difficult so we'll look to his next run to assist one of the guys that I put an asterisk next to you Alex Midler because he rips handrails and flat bars this is Alex's course so precise going yeah locking in on a round bar is difficult enough but half cabbing in where there's so much room for error nice front feeble on that down right of that kink rail there up to the top what's he got oh the Hat catch nice that's the Midler special I think this might be Alex's course he's a rookie pro just turned pro earlier this year 180 switch crook on the a-frame hubba and alex is just able to oh so crazy that's able to lock in so gnarly on handrails and flat bars and you saw that precision on that nose grind it looked like that thing wanted to shoot about now what are the judges looking for here as far as like run composition it's gonna be a mix you know they want to see the consistency the style but they will want to see the creativity so people hitting the rails at different you know different ways that aren't just so straightforward that's gonna get the judges psyched so midler with a couple of mistakes here but some real bangers as well yeah that cab 50 was she so insane a true steam interesting look at the front Pheebs this is back three super goofed alex has been destroying the am contest circuit for years that right there going for that barley grind didn't quite lock in 180 switch Smith he's gonna he's gonna do that though I think it's I think it's coming for us on the next one well Alex Midler bumping himself in the first place remember each one of these guys gets two passes through this course sixty seconds on the clock as we move on to Manny Santiago yeah Manny's been crushing do tours for many many years what's awesome to about Manny he you know he had double ankle surgery yeah you're too bad he's looking strong this year starting off with a bang nice nosegrind possible lit perfect Manny grew up skating the amp contests so he's been doing this for a very long time the board not quite get him papi needed there the cool thing about man is he's gonna bring some different weird tricks to the course he's gonna be French of grinding the rails you see that went heelflip Smith attempt just got all kinds of crazy stuff big spit board you know what man he's got such positive energy he's a guy that feeds on the crowd if people are excited people you know he's landed tricks people are getting excited might even see some dancers that's like that's a really risky maneuver you got to be really balanced fortunately for many couple mistakes will cost him but two runs so he gets another shot at this definitely got some moves early on he was killing it that's impossible that there's nothing like that kickflip spin which really is such a difficult trick especially kind of ledge alright so next in axle Kreuzberg such a rad skater he's gonna skate super fast he's gonna cover the entire course and one of the cool things about actually he's got a ton of pop so you may see him sliding up rails versus down yeah I think this is it never guy I'd put a star next to his name because I think this is a an axial course lotsa lots of handrails up to flat bars axel it's excels at that stuff oh dude King he's got transition skills as well nice front blunt right there that combo was amazing and that's the stuff that the judges are gonna get stuff done being able to land a rail trick right into a quarter pipe trip with that front blunt and he goes wally lipslide unbelievable and you still got 15 seconds left - yeah it's a perfect run so far more tricky here after time but which will take it yeah Axl's been destroying it on the European scene for many years and kind of bust out in America the last couple years it's just been on a tear nice nose block there there's that back lip this combo right here the back lip into the front blunt on the quarter pipe even squeaking a push in there to just make sure you had to speed back lip through the cake everyone's doing it super-stylish a full make all the way through the course for 60 seconds easily been ordered with an 80 look at that is our first perfect run thanks work yes 60 seconds is a long time for a perfect run especially underneath the sunny skies of Long Beach right now is weary Rach these guys Chris Colburn back on course second and final run together like you did in the ham cross over never bring us the same thing twice Oh been getting away from him on that nollie 180 switchback five yeah I think cookie just kind of freestyle of it on the cake I seriously think he probably decided to shove it like mid lip slide that was top of some skates just so creative spur-of-the-moment you almost never see him do the same thing twice of course three flip getting away from him again off of the rail feet all over the place 360 kick what a cool yeah I don't think he plans any of it man I think he's just going with the flow I skate with cookie back home and it says this is how he skates creative off-the-cuff definitely bringing it difficult he's bringing his own flavor to the course that's for sure that is so difficult but you've got to make it through your entire run and unfortunately for Chris not able to hold on to a full run a lot of a lot of highlights though in that run so run number two coming in at a 58 not going to improve on that first run score so that will likely be the last time we're seeing Chris Tran McClung on course nice backside tailslide one of the cool things about Trent is you'll notice what he gets out of a trick he just has this like hop pretty amazing yeah it's almost like a Ollie's out yeah as front people has a lot of control for Fatlip perfect down room midway through this run great start so far pop down nice this is a great run so far it's gotta hang on now yeah she makes it this run is that nollie cab so the end of his run he's our skated for 50 seconds you can got any title that trends just a true streetscape if I try on his last trick that was about so risky so let me ask you guys does that set him above Axl's run thanks auntie technicality that's a tough one it's very very close but I would say that that gets him in the range of an 80 yeah he definitely has quite a few tech tricks in there made the nollie 360 and then he had the kicks of nose grande 180 pound for pound I'm gonna guess yeah I'm gonna guess he might have done it yeah multiple flippin tricks the difference though is axel have so many tricks so it Cana is gonna come down to the judging like do they like more or are they looking for tech well this would be telling may set the stage here for the remainder of the competition as far as what the judges are looking for difficulty over flow and consistency all right there it is an eighty point three three bumping them into the lead bumping down axle into second with that eighty so it's still pretty tight though yeah the judges are saying they like both they respect everyone I agree with that scoring Alex Midler up next coming in fakie we'll see if he goes for that half cap fifty again oh man to do that two times in a row he's unbelievable it's crazy because alex is only 19 but he's a contest veteran he's gonna do this he was like man was in Tampa he was for so many years now he's always looked really confident well even when he was young he just never looked fazed by any pressure yeah unfortunately falling off on that back three [Music] is to add some difficulty in with that fall to be safe and try to push into the finals [Music] I think his way back the cake really muffled things that was going through it's so jarring when you hit a cake so to be on the front of your board all your weight leaning forward is really impressive since you have Jamie Thomas's cast he talks about kink and rattles and going through them and goes on about it for like ten minutes it's awesome listen check it out Jamie Thomas his new podcast he's the best [Music] at Templeton's like arguably the godfather of the Kim tan realm all right it's very fair to say speaking of king cameras front feeble all the way through that just it looks so smooth did he faze him at all there's no other look at that backside 360 just stepped off a little bit of wheel bite they're going for the barley grind just grab it wrapping the grabbing some rows on it saw make that in practice it's unfortunate I just like that he's still going for it he wants it oh yeah so Alex Midler on run number 2 doesn't put it together unfortunately for him look like he's doing a well to plead his case to make the final toe that was insane nice nose grind yeah you think he was going for a kick flip the board and rural is he trying something else I think he probably was he just had his feet got all crazy on there there is possible lip every single time yeah Manny get him man he needs this run best run counts there's only two goes he had had a fall on that one last round so good to see him make the kickflip crooked grind come back in at the rail the Vandy is here went a mani trick yeah there is no every single trick in this so far is very high caliber gone on a couple Manny Santiago classics there if front shove back 500 on a round rail and it's too many classic because nobody else is messing with that bag of tricks unfortunately for many goes down only eight people will advance to this final out of 25 skaters it's a harsh cut and it is a very harsh cut and unfortunately for some it will be the longest 60 seconds of their lives nice kick foot board there you see that kickflip feeble lock-in excuse me crooked grind perfect when manny lands he lands with authority that's for sure absolutely he stomps him next up axel Kreuzberg so axel now down in second place with that eighty Trent came in with the 80 point three three to push him down this is his opportunity to to speak for himself yet again nice nosegrind for axel cries birds in the front three 180 nosegrind perfect he does have to back-to-back-to-back thing going on there's not a lot of axel skates so fast man the back lip shooting out missing at this time still got 30 seconds left though he's got a lot of time you think you guys secure with a score of an 80 Andrew what do you think I'm gonna say yeah we got a lot of skaters ahead and we have some amazing skaters ahead and as much as I would love to see it with the finals I just don't know if he's secured transfer 360 flip up X has got some contest experience he knows how to recover from a fall well how much does that affect you you know you did one fall and then you had to come back and try to like [Music] reset yourself I think it depends on the skater you know if if you're fragile and you're not feeling confident then and it can be day to day but if you're feeling like you know what I got this it's not gonna bother you yeah pan out to that noseblunt there that was nice so still likely gonna stick with that score of an 80 yeah he's gonna stick with the 80 as we finished up the first heat and we've got a lot of skaters yet to come I mean there are some names in here you got Zion Jamie Foy Jagger Eaton Jagger Vincent milu from France we talked about the international field yeah you Tohono me Kelvin Hoefler this is this is gonna be really DeSean Jordan Mui Lopez so Heat number two coming up here real quickly stoked to see Trent right now leading leading the charge yeah that's surprising in that rad alright well here are the results after heat one the bar being set with that eighty point three three that is the score to beat right now taking eight into the final event here in men's Pro Street this is the qualifier so that was the first heat of five like I said only eight people two runs through this thing sixty second runs in this next heat Jagger Eaton chase Webb Oh mammy Lew Zion right Carlos Riviera stacks so Trent McClung coming out of Vermont East Coaster no no I talked to Trent is I see cookies these are for my looking at Chris Colburn excuse me go up names here on this sheet from me we will see if those 80s are gonna be enough you know it when we did this Street qualifier this morning it's the 80s or not they're not that heavy of a score and I think the judges are really getting warmed up as well so it's like things are gonna start to shoot up here yeah we got five more heats for more heats left excuse me five heats total it's a lot of skateboarding it's also you know with each heat that guys are gonna continue to move up because they're seeing how people are getting scored so it's got to be nice for you know you do have such a rad mix of talent out there so I'm sure for the guys that want to skate more like axel put a lot of tricks together in that amount of time they're probably stoked seeing hey we get rewarded but same with all the tech skaters so we have a really good judging camp let's take a look at the highlights here from Heat number one guys talked me through what we're seeing this trend McClung with that kickflip backflip and then the perfect 360 flip you see that nollie cab beautiful love how Trent just had a super raw Street run then we see axel cries Berg's nice back lift through the King right back three well one eat down plenty more to go stick with us it's a street qualifier us here at the Dew Tour in Long Beach [Music] welcome back to the detour a long beach we are in the middle of the men's street qualifier before we continue on with the action we're gonna send it down to our man on the streets player alley what's up guys I'm down here on the street courts for the axle cries Birds he's currently sitting in second place one thing about the course is here it's a lot different from years past I like everything's combined in one course now different courses I like this more and it's funny I'd like a bunch of cool stuff like all these good rails and yeah I like it yeah so you guys are doing two runs how did you prepare for your runs I was just trying like in practice I was just trying to make like a line that I felt like comfortable way that I could like do you know like and this I started doing like tricks here and there and then it just I like connecting him and seems like it worked out a little bit yeah we got a pretty big international field this year yourselves Brazilians we got youto Americans fix them a loop from France yeah I like it it's like and all these guys you see Matt these other contests do so it's like it's good to see everybody together and say in the end everybody knows each other and it's a good feeling yeah yeah there's a vibe that everyone just really loves coming down the long beach for this one every year for sure yeah make sure stopping by axle back to you Todd Thank You Blair if you're just joining us we are in the middle of the men's Street qualifier I am joined here in the booth by Andrew cannon and crisp asterisk we are onto Heat number two and boys this heat has got some heavy hitters in it yeah you know we we have to start off by talking about the guy who's gonna set it off Jagger Eaton Jagger 17 years old he's brand new to all the pro contest this year but this contest is made for him and this course is awesome because he's got those quick feet chase Webb gnarly rail Chomper he's gonna get wild out there Vincent milu has just broken into the pro contest as well and this guy's got a lot of talent he just from Punta del Toro so not only is he really good with the flip tricks but he's super super gnarly Xion rights gonna rip around the course all-around Ripper and then Carlos ribeirão another country super tech he has the potential to end up in that same trend McClung position so very excited to see what goes down right now with jaggery here we go starting the second heat up here and turn these guys is gonna get two shots at best score counts nice switch back tail starting it off pretty pretty crazy right there the switch yeah that's risky that's the stuff that's gonna set Jagger party that's the trick Ettore everyone got the memo coming in switch switch nose it's crazy how many people are falling on like what the death stream tricks for these guys yeah you know I'm kind of used to seeing him do the switch five-o but the switch nose grinds a whole nother beast this is like a pretty tech run for Jagger Eaton with a bunch of switch tricks he's got a lot of contest experience recently won the simple section contest in February he's won Tampa Pro this stuff as an am back 180 nosegrind on a frame cover going for the backside flip it's not a typical jagger eat and run it's gonna have to reset for round number two pressure is on they only get two shots at this best score counts it's gotta be tough man I mean he's 17 years old he just made the move up to the pro ranks so to be out there with literally the best skateboarders in the world is terrifying okay and the front blunt kickflip out to like windy I don't know what's gonna happen he does that every single time mental yeah I mean this this guy skates the mega ramp yeah I know he's in here we've had three things what's army bro nice back 180 nosegrind love how he mixes it up the street transition everything all right moving on now jaggery is in fifth with the 66 six he's got a couple hot moves in there if you can just kind of put it together we met Jagger's a name that could win this entire contest if he puts it all together just gonna need to keep those nerves at bay chase Webb up next dropping him for dropping in for his first run chase is such a handrail chopper that I think this course is really gonna suit his skateboarding look at that back fifty up then right into the feeble grind down you have a lot of confidence to be down to jump on to round rails in a row like that 50 was insane bored like it was nothing - it's kinda what's cool about - toys you see a lot of guys you wouldn't typically see in contest situations they put 50 on that bank tool edge case is another name that's had a ton of contest experience as an amateur it's been skating contest for like a decade the crazy gap to kink rail that is huge that's that handrail experience I was talking about just destroys handrails especially round rails that most people struggle with did you see that he did a Krugerrand and he kind of grind at the side of the ramp the stage that was really cool and he keeps going it was an amazing amazing run from J sweat holy glue foot yeah that was crazy I'm excited to see how he's judged on that when he had a really cool mix he started it off with his backside 5050 up pop out right into that feeble down the rail look at my roadie is out yeah and we see this 50/50 we can't confront boy so gnarly here's the kickflip front 50 you got the flip tricks in right to the feet [Music] perfect landing and then this right here this is so gnarly capping out to that backside 5050 more than anything it's the confidence I'm at right there cuz that is crazy he's got to be stoked on that I can't wait to see where he ends up on the scoreboard yeah chase 84 for first place for the time being so awesome to see chase Webb moving up into four in the first place mariette his finest with an 84 so rad Wow that's the score to beat hey should risky right there yeah getting the fives from the whole squad out there Vincent Malou up next that Vincent just qualified look Street League this year so he's on a bit of a tear at the moment nice front one a little handsy out there crooked grind from blunt I thought he was rolling away from them make that work front three Vincent's been spending a lot of time in the States recently with my boy Willie Santos miss Biggs been front board people grind and travel into this contest in Estonia in the past few years and I've seen in Vincent just just drawing it out there in Europe for a few years now but he's kind of a new name in the States people are just finding out about Vincent Mello and how good and tech he actually is that kickflip or down the rail front sights lifts off with a switch flip down the stairs that's gonna do it for him right there run number one it's got a reset put it all together for round number two he's capable of but he's got the tricks and the difficulty yet for sure so if Vincent unfortunately with a couple Falls there but showing some potential yank over so much control kickflip crooked is where I don't belong for him right there yeah it seems like that kind of shook his confidence a bit for Chile kickflip board that's that's his move he's got the king footboard the kickflip lipslide all day long the pop shuvit back 50 and we didn't see yet so a 66 puts him in fifth place for the time being we move on the roster here to Zion right another all-terrain vehicles good yeah this guy could do everything it's get transitions big rails he's kind of part of this dude so the older skateboarders like myself Yoshi Tana Bob they're kind of athletic you know there's a super super ominous or something yeah they're they're babies wrestlers [Music] and back Schmitt 30 seconds left for Zion on rut number one back blunt popping out another one with him that was hard that a face shot into the angle iron literally looked like he went full road he's like yeah cut my proof that's what my you know it he's got a smile though so he's okay but that looked like it was gnarly roommates with Jamie Foy also in do tour and also Alex or gent a they just been feeding off each other just get better and better truck kind of trading skills Sam's getting better at transition alex is getting better on street well let's see learn a little more about Jamie boy in Zion right right now two guys coming out of Florida let's check out what makes these guys such good skaters I'm sorry I'm 19 years old I'm from Jupiter Florida currently living in Sherman Oaks that's a pretty big difference coming from small city to big cities well pretty much I just wanted to come out to LA just like to get a taste of it knowing that like you got to come out here to like kind of like fulfill it you know the test to like really see how it is out here because I've always heard you know coming from the east coast to the west coast that it's just a lot different out there [Music] I'm Jamie faux I'm 21 years old from Deerfield Beach Florida but now I live in Sherman Oaks California growing up every chance I could get to go to California I was super high I was just like remember as a kid watching all stuff just like to him like how 40 looks so sailing so many different types of spots because the Florida is just like a lot of ledges like bunks bars the little things but like out here is just like some giant stuff getting out here is just amped up trying to see everything you can so yeah it was super fun well two guys that I'm super hyped to watch skate some more gym before we've yet to see Zion had a little bit of a problem on his first run but I'm sure that it will come out cracking on run number two he's got such good trip I hope so and right there we are looking at your leader chase nice back tail what you can expect from Carlos technical tricks he's going to perfect that nose grant was he's got a frontside crooked a backside / crook yeah Carlos is one of the best things best alleged skaters in the world front crook down that hammer fax it over crew excuse me oh look at them I like 270 dudes it's just so good you put him in a contest something it even doesn't make it happen and he's always having such a good time now triggerfish the 360 flips are causing people trouble today that's time for Carlos as we said before each one of these guys will get two runs so he's got another shot on it but the pressure will be on yeah Carlos is typically a raw Street skater doesn't often skate contest so it's good to see him here at do tour there's that backside over crooks I'm old that called it a frontside crooked grind he just heat lock since oh well my locks in like it's a crooked frontside crooked grind so that means we're back to the top of the order right now with Jagger Eaton so a little bit of pressure on him he needs to make this run if he wants to bump himself up into the top eight scores find its way into the fight later on this weekend I'm excited to see what he brings Jagger Eaton needs to reset right here we know he's capable and put it all together in the context we see him do it so many times starting off with the switch back down no stranger to pressure [Music] see jackers actually even started skating out of transition events the part three in events like vans Park series so truly an all-terrain vehicle I understand I really don't understand how you could be that consistent at a clip he's got it every single time Oh hangs on though yeah who's trying to lock in us which one feeble but made it work with switch run for we'll take you much better run so far I got the ski with him go skateboarding day out in Arizona his family owns was endorsed so it wasn't a hundred and ten degrees which was nice but man was just lighting that place up everything first second try no thanks pretty from poor DeBakey that was super risky seconds after time all right that was a really good run will the judges count him down for missing that switch front feeble what are you thinking I don't think you know they won't count it as high as a switch from feeble but they'll give him switch front board points and you know hanging on and making it through that's great yeah otherwise he's gonna do arms backflip to fakie and he just kind of wings it around it's crazy how late it is perfect back three [Music] I'm just curious like how the judges go at like trainee trips in there I mean there is technically transitions you know will dirt built definitely on the difficulty right definitely reward them doing a back tale you might not get many points but with a front blunt kickflip out you're gonna get some points anxiously awaiting the score on it yeah I think that's uh probably low 80s I'm gonna guess that's a pretty solid run the question is is it better than we've seen already in those eighty point three three she's trying to best chase webs at 84 at the moment 85 for Jagger Eaton rewarded and that's what they want I want to see scat that were an example of someone with just total confidence and contest experience and chase wet is another one and he's in completely different style of skating already changing it up from the last one he went with the back fifty up they went back 5o down more difficult to see that 50/50 front board again that is so kickflip front 50 to see where he continues to change it up [Music] he's repeating some tricks and as we know Andrew the judges like to see you mix it up oh here we go their feeble that's back 50 which i think is arguably harder the back 50 I think it's easier to go to feeble holding on to that score of an 80 flora currently has him right now in second place she looks like he got a hot pocket or something he's got a good score on that first run though yeah that 84 is a solid score score to beat right now is an 85 but by virtue of these combo tricks he's been doing so gnarly the 50/50 front board on the double King crazypants kickflip 50 bank to hubba we see gapping out that's known for that feeble grind great evening something like just holding on for dear life well get how high up he gets onto that rail to I mean he's maybe not sliding about the inches of that thing that's crazy that's where that's where he kind of tweaked his foot on that so here we are into it that's an emu we set it off the glue from what nice work that crooked grind grabbing out every time into the front blunt the most secure the exit kickflip crooks this time hopefully Vincent pulls it all together after a great start big spoon front board oh I like that half CAF feeble back to switch it's like typically a mini-ramp trick people fakie it's so sick kickflip board to fakie making it happen this is a great run so far I hope he holds on 15 seconds left come on Vincent there we go bacon we need is that blip time for one more trick this is critical right here [Music] the king from the gap kickflip front to fakie that was so so sick that was a great run wow dude really claim and that's gonna give Jagger Eaton a run for his money Wow all right so here's what went down you had to kickflip crooked grind on the bump to bar there's that kickflip front lip look at that fully took it to fake lowly on his toes that was so crazy kick-up boardslide every single time flip textbook right here after he did that crazy three flip up man that was a it was a lot of rape lotta flip tricks right there you're with Vincent at Street League just a minute ago yeah yeah he was he was ripping man it's so cool to see these these younger guys that are joining the pro ranks and just seeing how they're adapting seven three three bumps it into first place young skater coming out of France right now looking to make his way into the finals moving right on to Jean right that is awesome I sign of course get him Z nice new ones to start things off it's been so sick that front floor to fakie this is a really cool start right here so good to do well every time I love how it keeps the speed you got the memo to do that back three oh three sixty flip hang on Z where do you think so far in this run compared a seat we'll see if it gets him there I mean he had some really hard tricks he mixed it up on the entire course we'll see what the judges think fakie Ollie 5050 after time that was a great run there's that back blunt set it off let that goes right into this 360 so perfect [Music] in the back three [Music] how many of those have we seen on that obstacle it's basically like in every run look at how lofty this 360 flip was so caught ya Zi you think that that warrants an 80 Andrew I think it's gonna give him an 81 six six putting it out forth right now and that's what the fall it's a pretty impressive score well yeah that was that was a really good run yeah hopefully that's enough to get Zion into the finals cuz we all know what he's capable of next up Carlos on course right let's repair all coming out of Brazil [Music] just had a bunch of amazing footage in a primitive video that just dropped it was so good you have watched it you should definitely check it out online look at the way he just gets in and it was crooks so laughing and then those tricks are so difficult this Carlos last run hopefully puts it all together nollie cab to switch front board five across down the 40 balance pretty challenging 60 minutes only two runs they Andrew what do you think runs a minute each that would be like sixty minutes one of these guys I think it's great because they can really make their way around swears there's so many good options out there they can they can get a lot of tricks then we haven't really looked the exception of maybe the backs of 360 over the boat we haven't really seen a repeat of moves out here and it's there's so many options people can skate it differently is that 4 5 6 TS yeah that's that's a compulsory move here yeah hey welcome to the do tour here is your backside 360 kick nice switch 360 flip look that back foot hovering over board that was so sick [Music] well he's on primitive he has to have a good switch flip yeah okay and that rounds out our heat number two and score of a 70 Wow 70 that's a little low Ashley so top eight right now Vincent in first Jagger chase Webb Zion right Zion right now is down with Blair alley let's get a word in down here on the course of Zion Wright was in a really heated heat right there everyone in your heat was going for those nuts gnarly and what do you think of the course you're an ATV you can skate everything you're catching errors in the gaps hitting the rails how'd you prepare for your runs just try to like get a good line and like hit everything you know link a lot of rails you know little transition some gaps and stuff it's really sick your second run was flawless and at the last second you went for a nose grind down the double kicker what were you thinking well I was just coming in hot so I was like oh maybe I could do it but then I should have just done the five oh it's all good we got your buddy Jamie Foley up next what you think he's gonna do out here he's gonna kill it so let's see what happens looking forward to that - back to you Todd thank you very much all right let's look at some highlights from that heat there were some banger moves in there started off right here with this guy jaggery Jagger with that Barrett in there's the one time Packer Holly all day we she just count the back three you see in here back 180 nosegrind [Music] awesome to see Jagger put it together on that second run yeah under pressure he's got a lot of confidence experience chase wet with the kick foot 50/50 another cat with a ton of contest experience nice website flip there's this gap right here almost getting into that feeble grind [Music] so sketchy that he tried that right there that was such a stacked heat I mean the one thing I'll take away from that I mean Carlos has run at the end they're like I'm just trying to wrap my brain around why he got scored so low I mean it was I think he went for that nollie 180 heelflip up the Euro gap and then the switch 360 looked down the stairs but I think both of those I think the clock ran out before he got that line in there right so even though we saw the replay and we saw those happen I think that was the I think some of the other guys move through the course a lot quicker and therefore got a lot more tricks in as well but if you want to fight the judges I mean I'm gonna get it you know I'm will get you guys in a ring we'll go get him later next let's talk about this next heat here Jamie Foy current Caples who already competed today in the Pro Bowl event qualifiers Chris Joslin Chaz Ortiz and Dave Basinski Wyszynski 32 years old I mean it's him and many the two East Coast he's better guys that are the two veterans in this heat this heat has such a cool mix you got Jamie Floyd who has just he's another ATV he's gonna skate the whole course you know he's been skating contest as well forever but he has a different just has a different vibe to him you know rail chompers super super well on this course current cables I talked to him a little bit ago I was just like dude you're out here already he skated his run in the park and then he was immediately over on the street course I was like are you exhausted he was like yes I kind of had I kind of was having a discussion with someone this morning about that like where is he focusing now because he's he's already really established himself in both disciplines I mean I'm just wondering his current Caples now focus more he said he likes the street stuff more I mean the you know the the guys are so gnarly well Park current Caples is coming up next along with Jamie boy when we come back more from the Dew Tour built by Mountain Dew hello and welcome back to the do tour here in Long Beach California we are in the midst of the Men's Pro Street qualifier I am joined in the booth by Andrew cannon Chris pastia's and now we have Vanessa Torres yeah Vanessa how are you I'm so good are you taking in action are you taking in some of this skateboarding action that's happening out here at the Dew Tour a little bit here and there I was actually watching I think heat one earlier and I don't know it looks tough out there like I couldn't imagine competing and it's setting like that with that many dudes amazing like how good they are I feel like it's a little easier on me and my sometimes but I'm obviously not competing in this event this year but you're hanging out with us yeah even better hi this is I like where I'm at which is really cool because we have some truly unique things to the do tour I mean this is the first time do tours had a women's Pro Street event and also women's Bowl event I'm super excited for what are your thoughts on that I think that they had a do to or for women's back in god I don't even know 2010 or something didn't happen last year weird about it you don't care this is Martin it says I'm the age of Sultan yeah I'm excited for all the women that are involved in both Park and Street everybody to the course still working things out and I'm excited to see who you know who takes a home alright well as we switch gears back here we are watching Jamie Foy on screen right now a destroyer out of Florida Andrew cannon he's one of your favorite skateboarders hands down yep he's a he skates everything he's he's awesome skater of the year whatever one of the popular dude yeah super positive guy just always bringing the energy him in Zion just amazed me because they get off airplanes and skate 20 stair handrails they just no warm-ups they just go right into it does that last forever yes we shall all right Jamie for on course while just walking into the front block right there that Susan that's kind of the Jamie Floyd thing he can block all his tricks look at that front [ __ ] hop over yeah Jamie's got so much control on handrails this is of course he can really excel out switch front crook down the tech rail that's insane there's so much room for error on that his his build really does fascinate me just the amount of control Wow I mean you him and I on are like best friends Zion is a hundred percent muscle and then he got Jamie who's just legitimately a dick boy you know carries it well yeah hey you know I'm gonna say though maybe Jamie boy potty breaks twice as many folders I don't know he I mean he he does but even when you land bolts like well he gets another shot at at jamie-boy run number one he's I would say he's a skater skater as we watch him go through here I think this is the first 360 flip I've seen maybe like he didn't even notice that when we were looking at it from the topic where his build comes into play he can really throw around big boy what just roll away from it Jamie boy currently in ninth place he gets another shot at this as we move on to current Caples yeah you guys we're talking about it I feel like Kern's been leaning a bit more Street lately so hopefully yeah it'll show your do towards well you've heard over all you can skate transition so well but to be in the park realm I mean you have to be you know 540's and all that stuff he's so much more about style speed callback go for that tailslide popover not quite make it in arguing arguably it could be a professional surfer dedicated to district fraction of the time he does - it is he that good yeah he's done good I mean it's all this rat difficult tricky was go for capital on 270 out look at that the way he was on the blunt super vertical so sick definitely proffered seems to be a favorite out there that's the pre-bump current from Ventura California to the cables family I know they're probably watching Shelley and Evan nice backs mean a couple little mistakes in there but current kind of made up for it towards the end of that run you gets another one that's so much experience he knows hopefully he can shake that off and put it together for round number two nice blunt side I like the way he was on that it was like he had his wheels on the top of them it's really easy to kind of go over into tail slide on that and then it just becomes like I don't know well transfer yeah a lot easier to stay vertical on a round rail the cross backflip excuse me gloss and down so rad yeah so current capo let's we'll get another shot at this let's move on to Chris Jocelyn someone who likes to throw themselves down huge everything yeah Chris Jocelyn not typically known as a contest guy he's uh put out some of the gnarliest Street footage ever recorded ever he's a cliff skater looks escaped bourbon what's cool though is if you follow him on Instagram you can just see his skates everything is now I mean ask a - yeah everyday all day it seems an ending quarter fives gaps ledges he just loves skateboarding [Music] three-sixty I mean he's a pretty consistent skater I think in the park like I think he's a consistent skater but you put him in the streets Oh Jess step that was so rad go flip see his frustration there he's got a bunch of time though he's got 20 seconds lipslide I've seen Chris Johnson really shine in the team challenge with plan P previous two tours Oh coming down to the wire here final trick that is intended so Chris Jocelyn just stepping off of one trick basically yeah that's gonna be one too many we've got a few perfect runs in the books this right here everything was going awesome free flip up no compliant the switch heel at such a rad little three trick line hopefully puts it all together and run number two and look like it'll look like maybe a little wheel bite Chris Jocelyn will get another run as we move on to Chaz Ortiz Chaz Ortiz up next this guy knows how to skate a contest sure does jazz has been skating do tours for what practically a decade now yeah I don't even think you're wrong on that I think it's probably ten years it's crazy to like watch someone basically grow up do Tory he used to be like a little kid and now he's like just big dude I mean he started in it like at the free flow tool back in the day he just just a heads up he did kickback live in an alley from Thebes right there he's like yeah free tattoo wait three tattoos doing it for Chicago nice front three that's another one 360s are popular here at the dudes for this weekend yeah what do you think about the course out there I rolled around yesterday for a little bit in Evansville and I was like what am i doing out here so I got to stop for a second but it's super fun once you find your flow out there I can always appreciate some good transition mixed up in the streetcars [Music] guys if he does licks up off its board he'll come back and just throw three tricks in there like it seemed like I'm one of his safer runs but I think that's what everybody does during their first run just land what you can even when it was safe for me to kick the back lip yeah just basically started off whoa made it happen I Smith grind there's that kickflip from feeble soul and mind control on that three flip flip man he got of tricks in there that was a great run yeah I'm excited to see where he lands I'm gonna predict third place run it's definitely in the top view purse Wow yeah the 8.33 words yeah chess stoked for him who's in the first place so moving on here Dave Basinski he's surprised and stoked wow it's been a while for Chas I want to see him on the podium there's the East Coast corner right there the efficient scheme in Santiago watching Dave skate yeah he's he's a tree del Toro probably about a decade he can do everything he'll he'll come out through a crazy quarter pipe tricks yeah he's a probably jumping he definitely has an advantage there look at that board to that every single time staying on it's a great run midway through with Kinski move right there and then it's just a very simple simple trick that gets you maybe that's why we're seeing so many back threes as people are having trouble popping that's what it seems like everyone's kind of like you know what I'm gonna risk it today but schinsky I switched rich bacon tried a fakie flip out I believe what's so insane right at the end of his run what a crazy thing to just whip out there I got it a couple little problems on that run but definitely some fangers as well massive frontside flip hurt feeble grind into that one kickflip Dave does those in his sleep tailslide 270 another patented trick he does the machine ski will get another shot at this as we head back to the top of the order it's gonna be to see where that score ends up though is he had get some solid tricks in there so 64 3 3 has them in 12th place reminder to everyone we only take 8 people on to the file Jamie fall right back in the driver's seat here this is the second run of 2 last chance let's see it [Music] switch down a rail [Music] he was such a master of control on handrails backside Smith grind oh that was awesome fake five-oh didn't wait don't touch the truck ft slam on that winter Wow he goes down he goes down so hard every single time number X yeah last time for Jamie please it's amazing the fact that he got in and then controlled that through the Kings nice blood slide talk about a locking feed into the front 270 yeah blah blah blah let's see the last stage [Laughter] the back Smith was really good and controlled I mean they hope there you play it alright here we go [Applause] holy cow Jamie boy Bubble Boy in eighth place right now people coming here is the current standings we see Jamie boy right down there on the bottom seventy-three point three three is the score to beat if you want to make it into that current top eight jazz our keys holding the top spot that was and see if he would have gotten that front crook in in time I feel like he could have been in the top in the top three pushing crooked grind at El Toro so crazy do Ryder or current cables on course high speed backside tailslide get occurred [Music] so cool tailslide bluntslide transfer it's almost like skating like a spine capelin to 70 unfortunate procuring capable as couple mistakes he's not going to be so this is for for everyone at home that looks way fine you can't say they're off that into the flat fans a lot of Vanessa any predictions for winning streak you know Jen Soto is on kind of fire right now I'm excited to see any Dark Horse pick someone that we wouldn't expect that we're gonna watch he's got this escape I'm always ready for some Aria I don't know what it is she's just nobody else gates like her honestly and her trick selection is a lot different than a lot of the other girls out there and I don't know this course has a lot of handrails she likes and rails she likes their sets so I'm always watching for her as well Jose Ortiz is in I'm current leader the leader and I mean just the little warm-ups here these guys gonna run out squeak a couple tricks in before the next guy goes miss joseline will be up next hope just stay on he kind of he was sort of doing some basics towards the end which is not really his normal food so I'm hoping I'll get some more flips it like clippings and stuff like that and also Chris Joslin be part of the Plan B team for the team challenge a unique event here for the Dew Tour skateboard teams picked a bunch of guys they come out and they battle out team versus team and it's something that's really cool and you don't really see that in skateboarding very much Jocelyn is in brought nose blood under that front 360 Wow 180 switched 5050 it's the hard way it's like the gums 180 grind well II have Chris needs to stay on in the second run - crap it's the basics that seem to be getting yeah that would have been a cool transfer though off bump into the other one okay 25 seconds left to try to make up for that they step off pack cement transition skill there I can only help you I want to say it's the Eldorado Park that Chris skates at ah did you see clips from every single day seems like he skates like eight hours a day so gnarly Chris Jocelyn going down a few times in that run but he still has team challenge coming up this weekend so his work is not done is that gone drying we talked about I thought he had that it looked like it split perfectly it almost looks like he just he just didn't get his feet on right he caught it kind of in the middle caballerial [Music] here is the big spin attempt yeah not quite getting a pop he needed unfortunately for Chris going down and run number two we'll see him in the team challenge when he's got a pretty strong strong team there's a some heavy hitters on that team always all right Chaz Ortiz is in oh my gosh how much control fifty he was gone for nali nali nocebo yeah nice Smith grind yeah it's funny you see Chazz kind of make adjustments on the fly he's got so much contest experience he's gonna do it too you know if he if he puts down a good run he's gonna switch up that next run Chaz Ortiz currently sitting on at eighty eight point three three he is in the lead I think he's pretty darn safe and is positioning to make it into that top eight kick front that that's girl stick might not be first though oh it looked like he was about to either shove it or kickflip out might have been a kickflip yeah it kind of looked like it like cats just having fun now he knows he likely has what it takes to be in tomorrow's finals I can appreciate him still going for it so Chaz Ortiz is done for today already putting down that massive 88 so he's in now it's all about just getting ready for finals day and I'll move us on here can we get through these replays today wyszynski was a great kickflip front blunt mid run risky's it was earning six to seven three three on run number two he'll stay with the 88 keep that 88 what was the time that he won I mean it's been a while yeah but he's feeling good he came back from some injuries has kind of had some some plaguing injuries over these last couple years and he's looking strong all right Dave Basinski coming out of New England all smiles dude is so positive kickflip frontside flip down one of the craziest things about Brad he skates different boards so his boards actually have their veneers a different way so that when he's finished with him he can all kinds of like frames and all kind of stuff it does all kinds of woodwork check it out on Instagram that's really got a mansion he skates like a 7.75 inch wide literally it's a six it's that small which toothpick yeah I mean that that's you know early nineties it works for him if I get blunt kickflip like that every time I'd skate a toothpick Oh sick going a little late right there so Dave force in ski stepping off first run sixty four three three we'll see if that one does he he's got the insanely deep bag of tricks yeah we've seen him skated a few best trick contest is that Woodward mini-ramp thing where he just like has a never-ending bag of tricks and like really weird ones yeah that's what happens man bass music I can attest to growing up Massachusetts weird you learn weird stuff exactly of life that it's very true all right well let's send it down to Blair Ali with Chaz Ortiz right now well it's up I'm down here with Chaz Ortiz our new first-place qualifier they got just no stranger to putting together a flawless run how did you prepare for that run what what do you think how are you putting it together in practice I just kind of like had it set and I knew what I was gonna do but a minute is a lot longer than you think you know cuz this is a pretty big course it's spread out so like there I heard 30 seconds left and I was scrambling I was like Oh what do i do right now but it worked out and I put it together and you're saying you like this course the abundance of the smaller rails what were you telling me about that yeah I like it cuz it's not too crazy you know and you'll see you know harder stuff go down instead of basic tricks you'll see a lot of flip in a lot of nollie and which is cool you know it's more entertaining for the crowd and I love the course it's awesome well you still got it is beautiful to see you put that run together yeah Congrats on getting the first place qualifier Chaz Ortiz back to you guys thanks player Chaz Ortiz will his score hold up current standings look like this Chaz Ortiz bench Amelia Jagger Eaton chase website right and Jamie poi on the bubble stick around more heats to come here from the Dew Tour in Long Beach we are muscling our way through the Men's Pro Street qualifier we have seen some crazy action go down right now we've got mr. Chaz Ortiz and first by virtue of an 88 and some change and it was because he basically just put together a psychotic run yeah he put a ton of tricks in there flip ins he really had a good mix skated the entire course and you heard him talk about it if you were if you were listening to an interview he's like man a minute's a long time out there on the course so these guys just feel like a 45-second runs you got an extra 15 seconds to have to stay on your board but Chaz did it which probably doesn't seem like a lot to somebody out there who's sitting at home be like man I can't hold my breath for 15 minutes but for 15 seconds but 15 seconds is actually a lot on course alright so we're moving into heat number four who do you guys like in this heat right now oh man DeSean Jordan for one just because of his amateur contest experience TJ Rodgers super fun to watch Louie Lopez this this whole thing he really pay Gustavo Ryan disenzo all right well here the qualifier standings as of right now we keep talking about Chaz Ortiz that eighty eight point three three could this be the year that Chaz Ortiz comes back and wins himself another Dew Tour maybe you guys are going to stick around and find out but also some names on there Jagger Eaton the chase Webb and some surprises maybe Alex Midler not in there Chris Jocelyn I mean we kind of lost her eighties there too you know I'm sad he's not gonna be moving on so moving right into week number four DeSean Jordan is going to kick us off streetcars right there I mean that's literally everything that you could possibly want I see a good spot for backside 360s such a massive course it was awesome listening to Zion talk about the course with Blair he's like yeah you know it's kind of got this it's got that you know some little [ __ ] really that's like I mean that's legit [ __ ] to most people but he's like that's little I just like I like that we're not jumping all around yeah going from course to course and it just seems so much more flowy for these guys to be able to mix everything up and obviously the guys can ride everything are the ones that are sitting on top right now the traditional format Hey we are skating the course linking the tricks it's it's awesome so yeah we went jam format for a while there a few years back and now runs our back and I'm about it - why is the flow it's I mean sometimes the resistancy it may seem like it's built for the riders but just you know Jam formats can be a little key is like a jam in order but 60-second runs really forced that versus skaters to make sure they're consistent I'm excited to watch out he can skate all of it as well another ATV grew up in Chandler Arizona skin at the Chandler skate park kind of the way it isn't I mean there's not too many guys that are on top that are not it's changed you know where a lot of the other guys you know in the older bracket of this they grew up skating Street whatever but all these kids with the abundant heart beat heart they all learn everything look at that wow wow backside / crook to start the Sean's another one that's built like a like a rest great nose boy yeah it's got a factor in that's another popular today which is crazy tactician switch the shona is another one just destroyed the amateur contest circuit for so many years that he's got a ton of consciousness it's a three flip flip so high on that trick I almost missed the handrail so let's compare this now for you're seeing two Chaz Ortiz is running it's definitely creeping up on him right now if you can get this all in practically did that outs out of the park yeah you know there was a lot of time in between the last trick there so I think that's gonna hurt his score Chaz's run there was no dead witness dead spots at all just bang bang bang definitely didn't utilized the entire full minute he he basically made it about 50 seconds in the same way and in that last 10 seconds though it's a little though too slow back live 360 flip lipslide [Music] foresight boring too big for his britches and he lost like you mentioned Andrea I'll finish my thought he lost a lot of time on trying that front 360 he basically had to make that to get a deep before well I think what it came down to is he a lead of the platform whereas everyone else you see kickflip three flips something like that if you would have added another trick in there I think that could have helped but still in a fifth place right now with a solid fall bumping jamie-boy out yeah with the fall with LA so we know what he's capable of TJ Rodgers up next and he will be part of the blind team looking to three-peat their team challenge supremacy that's so tricky man that's so difficult to start off with switch 360 you know just a casual crook nollie heel out middle of the run wearing track pants how do you not casual with anything else the track made for casualness smelly haven't seen that one backside today super pops [Applause] 20 seconds left on the clock concrete they were sticky yeah brand-new concrete not gonna work out well for to try to take that nose yeah you definitely develop give little give with that so TJ Rodgers a couple really clean pop 360s got another shadow yeah and the diverse drug I'm excited to watch him he's gonna be the boost bubble switch Jim coming up just a little bit all switch skating 30 minutes cash for tricks it's gonna be red there's that there's the make yeah pull me he's got a great attitude too you know he's always having follow away smiling super stoked it was it it was an amazing video I saw talking about his backstory and growing up you know he's definitely been through a lot that's for sure so to have such a great outlook on life is rad Louie Lopez up next he's a favorite of mine yeah Louise got so much style so much flow I would definitely say they wanna hear you are you going to be you know is the caliber tricks is really high he's super consistent he grew up on the contest circuit as he's gotten older he's just become more and more casual about all this stuff but what's nice is he's never dumbed the Trix down yeah he's got so many tricks to pick from and he doesn't with so much style and flow I spent a really nice run together he just had that great converse video purple if you haven't seen it make sure you check out his part online stay on Lu half kept flip that's a really that's a risky one that's such a hard one to do at any time probably thought he was done already because I'm gonna throw this in here but Wiggins in a bed makes it fun to watch you never know what he's gonna do so Louie you got a second here in 2016 in discrete problem in front of people he wants it right now bashing it with that back foot where things went a little awry top of that regular half-cab flip people are struggling with pop a little different than the raw Street good scores bubbling on the bubble right now and that's amazing that the bubble scores in Haiti [Music] leapin Gustavo is up next so no more Alex Christ Berg fortunately yeah when we searched first stud took a look at the course and realize it was 60 seconds we were like is anybody gonna do a perfect run and we've seen plenty of them really excited for Felipe this guy is one of the most technical skaters we'll see in the contest that was a great combo he's super precise yeah incredible board control look at that he made it look so easy but everything about that trick is difficult especially copping it off plenty of time little 30 seconds left we talk about watching free skate so smooth makes really really difficult tricks look easy was honestly kind of weird to see him to a Smith grind right there but it was really cool switch flip front boards yeah he almost never does anything that that must be nice I think he just went firk shut back those grand 180 it was a little difficult to see that view so hopefully we see a replay of that one yeah that was a really good run he had a good mix yeah good to get on over to [Music] each one of these guys two runs through this course run number one of the seats a switchback potentially a kickflip crow that was no slight attempt there's the switch flip front board you get docked if you work the same office both back and forth you know I mean I think you will if you stick around in that vicinity but you know he did travel around the park quite a bit so 12th place right now for Felipe Gustavo he's gets another shot at this as we move on to Ryan disenzo [Applause] and just sends oh another contest better and does name has been synonymous with the Dew Tour for [Music] [Music] the hurricane I love the way he locks into this yeah disenzo he's really consistent grew up in Canada skating parks but he's insanely gnarly out in the streets as well one side to that King trail I was sick nice front Tran this is a great run it's got a hang on the frontside flip getting away definitely has enough time to get at least one trick in though we've seen so many falls on that bank-to-bank 180 up coming in fakie flip again nice recovery yeah that was still it still a solid run even with a fall that'll do it for Ryan disenzo and now we head back to the top of the order but disenzo had some decent moves here nice nollie heel there's the one he surfed out of oh yeah that's a make one sliding through the King popping out perfect catching that frontside flip almost getting away from at the last minute and the fakie flip which such a gotta have such good timing on that you really do a lot can go wrong with that trick so Ryan disenzo sitting right now in 15th place with a sixty eight point six six back to the top of the order with DeSean Jordan Shaun just stepping off of one trick but still put himself in the running here he's in fifth right now but if he can put it together and hang on he has the potential to down yeah v is not safe look at him to see Allen frontier you toe the shot knows he wants that perfect drummer I like the hustle skin of his teeth that was wild so we Trump peeps [Applause] the tricks on this ride I don't can't even believe what that was like the last inch of the handrail his last run he punches popping so high yes makes the 360 flip he needed that so here we go ten seconds we'll see if he goes for that front three again looks like he's going to switch it out maybe laser flick was that before or after time well honestly [Applause] so unfortunately falling on the last trick once again but man that I see said also was just is there he's going back forth if he makes it through that you know I really hope that you can kind of clean up that last 10 seconds and it just is his strategy because without that there's no way he's gonna win hi McKenna brewski his replay right here I like that you're going full Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on it yeah yeah so will will Shawn's score hold he's in fifth place currently look at the catch that extension oh he got almost credit card himself right there with not what might not have been not cool alright well Shawn Jordan currently sitting in fifth place a couple more heavies yet to come down matching his second run scored his first TJ Rodgers up next we've got another heat after this one and that will do it and we will name our top moving on to the men's Pro Street final TJ's currently down in 11th place this is a guy that can do it if you can put it all together there it is I picked switch 360 [Music] trying to go for that crook nollie heel again to be able to do a Casper on a bank and then go now I like flip noseslide and ledge is is pretty awesome nollie 360 still I completely miss a trick but still stay on and right away how difficult is that I mean you've got years of contest experience under your belt I like to do crooked grinds you know somewhere in my run but there have been moments where that crook turns into a nose slide and somehow I just ride away great control with with my crooked grinds but ports like now something just happens out there you just know you got to stay on blackout yeah you get contest blackouts TJ Rodgers that preclude its shot at trying to make the final that runs not gonna do it for him yeah that was so close still so many good tricks packed into this run look at that there was no pivot on that at all all the way around same [Music] no it's perfect I love that little help ah no not really so sick this is a switch heel look at the cash it all back foot so much style oh yeah that's it man I think that back foot says it all so TJ Rodgers is done for the day eleven plates currently not making that holiday moving on right now to Louie Lopez current leader he's on the bubble after the excuse me place yeah but he could be our current leader got the trick sport hopefully after this run [Applause] [Music] it was still a great run it's gotta stay on we've got too many perfect runs in the books and when you look at Chaz's he seriously flipped into almost everything which is definitely gonna be a big factor I think it might have been a bag Smith because that's kind of his thing I like the current tried that he was like hey curb everyone you try that I'm gonna do it cab back tail super-impressive cab have been hit then you just throw stuff in there like that [Applause] Louie currently on our bubble hey just squeaked out of that one slide big spin we'll take it so Louie Lopez maintaining that bubble spot in eighth place was back 50 whoa his side today right he was maybe going for backspin and missed he got thrown off what happened along with that trick though you are throwing for too much it draws you back this diva I thought this is crazy all right it looks like he back 50s and he bombs my box i think its tail bouncy the best mobile back 50 so run number two is 78-66 still holding on to that bubble spot of his score of 82 sweat it out for the rest of the competition which won't be hard because it's warm out there that's very true Gustavo get him Felipe it's Radwin we paid does super-good in a contest because he doesn't skate it like a tip the course like a typical contest here it's cool to watch a guy like Felipe it doesn't look like he's competing against anyone else he just comes here with a plan and he's like I'm gonna compete against myself and I just want to do the hardest thing that I can let me switch flip back 50 what's so cool - this is a street skater so that means he's been pressed a ton to be able to pop all these like switch tricks off ramps which is really awkward we're not used to seeing Felipe do anything basic at all this is it's really different he's gotta hang on in this kind of trick one trick left alright you know the rest of that run was so awesome yeah I think we just got to tone it down like right before like that last trick that was so risky backside 180 out in the final seconds likely beat his previous run score though yeah cuz he's done in 12th right now seventy two point three three right now Louie Lopez is looking at him like please there is a God what's done is done Louie done is done I love the Smith the rarely a Gustavo Smith grind I like it there's a switch lift switch from poor perfection which nosegrind making the kickflip rook Nikki bailed on that one his first run ooh pop shuvit nosegrind trying to back 180 out it's nice we've got that trig so dialed sixth place boom nice Louie Lopez gets the bump off of the bubble and trendek lung now our Bubble Boy descends Oh early 15th place wants to squeak in there I served in on a friend one of the king disenzo got so much contest experience what do you think he's thinking right now Andrew he he just comes in excited to be here excited to do it and he just has a different mindset I mean he knows he's like no I can do this I want to do this the question is does it get harder for someone who's already won the Dew Tour extra added pressure Wow nice fakie flip under pressure holding your title was that sugarcane that was a sugarcane other side frame that was so risky Wow now the grata puts him into the finals yeah full run - no mistakes yeah that was so much contest experience he was just calm cool collected didn't look like he was rushing at all there's the front three nice and lofty her off the bump over stairs here we go that's really wild I'm surprised he tried that on his final trick so stoked he pulled it I definitely think he was just feeling really good in this second run and everything was quiet I'm just gonna throw this in there work out for him look at how close the board stayed to his feet the entire time I can't wait to see what they could what they score I'm on that I think it's gonna be a big whoa bumping into third place 87 for Ryan disenzo that means trip McClung is outside right now on the bubble and congrats to Ryan disenzo much deserves [Music] so that's it for that heat right there Chaz Ortiz sitting on top a little bit of a switch up Felipe Gustavo and Zion right now in a very uncomfortable position Felipe Gustavo right now is with Blair Ali hey I'm down here on the course of to leave Gustavo there's a lot going on Felipe killed it in the second run put him into the a to advance then we just saw just sends I'll do the same thing and you're looking at Kelvin coming up in the next heat what are you thinking right now I don't know I mean it's tough okay you know it's a lot of good skaters soon - that's heat and then we'll see what happens it's hot out here so your second run you knew you had to go all out and try those really technical tricks what were you thinking was a risky trying some of those it's risky but it's the last run you know last he might as well send it see what happens yeah what'd you think of the course this year he's actually pretty fine you know everybody know sometimes the only big stuff and sometimes only small stuff now it's like a lot of diversity of obstacles so it's pretty fun to make this fire more you know so you see a lot of different trick and you don't see any contest so that's what's cool yeah the part is pretty dope all right well you're still in there you're spot off the bubble good luck this next heats gonna be insane back to you guys Thank You Blair and we are moving on to the final Heat and this final Heat is stacked and packed let's run through these highlights of what we've seen so far I mean top top three red downer locks we got Ryan disenzo Vincent middle ooh Chaz Ortiz we've only got five more skaters ahead so that's our top eight yeah and then unfortunately surprising Jamie Foy not in there Louie Lopez yeah axel prize birds could have could have made it in and right now in 20th current Caples I mean the runs that have been stomped out right now I mean this Enzo's run was crazy I mean Vanessa you got to go because you're going over to check out women's Street practice I sure I don't know what information you have this way it's either gonna be Street or it's gonna be Park okay so you got a 50% chance sure it's part I just say you're going to support women's skateboarding yeah there we go I should have fixed it alright so that's it you been you join us thank you very much right now though okay out of what we've seen so far who do you think you know biggest shot in the finals here for these guys for men's let me see this yeah Chaz Vincent disenzo you still get heavies to go but based on what we see do you know I'm a fan of disenzo i think just his energy in general and like you can't help but feel like pumped up for him to you know to take it so veteran yeah yeah and he's killing it so Vanessa thank you very much for joining us we'll be seeing you later on this weekend for the women's Park and street comp can't wait and we've got a lot more skateboarding to come here but first we're gonna go through some highlights switch flip from Felipe Gustavo so perfect if that's me I'm from Felipe Gustavo switch from the not-so run player yeah that one is a Felipe standard so difficult don't put that from pop shove it back 180 nollie out didn't quite put it together pop shuvit nose grind excuse me [Music] all right well we'll be back for the fifth and final heat Kelvin Hoefler you tell her gummy and Alex Majoris coming up next stick with us you're watching the Dew Tour [Music] do tour is brought to you by Mountain Dew do the dew and by circle-k take it easy [Music] welcome back to Long Beach California you are watching the do to our men's Pro Street qualifier I am Todd Richards joined in the booth by Andrew cannon and Kris pastors and we are talking all about men's Street skating precision boys run to the last seat here for the qualifier and this one is staffed Alec majerus is in this heat Tommy Finn Mickey Papa you still here ago May and Kelvin hofler we've got let's see at least to do Tour winners in here I mean these guys are all NAR lores yeah they're all amazing I mean Mickey's on T blind they've won two years in a row in the team competition look at okay so now only taking eight in and I'm looking at this last five dudes so the only person really safe at this point is Ryan disenzo the risk these guys could be fully wiped by this next heat yeah especially towards the bottom of the list with Sion right Felipe Gustavo lots of lots of good skateboarding left that's a tough spot especially when you come into a heat like this I mean everyone knows that Kelvin Hoffler has just a crazy bag of tricks he's super super consistent he's been looking really good so far in all the events we've seen him this year Yuto hora go mate just won a Street League for his first time ever so I'm sure he's probably feeling really good a lot of confidence coming into this event Mickey Papa on Team blind he just has some of the fastest flick Tommy Finn's got a wild bag of tricks you know I think this course is built really well for a guy like him and then Alec Medeiros he's got such a unique bag yeah and with the kink rails out there he definitely has an advantage yeah Alec is a rail Chomper so I think this course is really gonna suit him and yeah you ran through the list I mean Kelvin he's got so much contest experience that like disenzo he's able to make adjustments on the fly so I think kelvins gonna be one to look out for for sure all right well starting this heat off right now just precision crooked grind down the King chorale straight out the game yeah like it's in his comfort zone ah he went into that front blunt uh speed more speed than we've seen everyone else skate that rail totally unfortunate got away from him but lots of run left nice recovery with the kickflip back lip thirty seconds left Alec just does so many tricks you never know what he's gonna try it's got such a deep bag Jerris coming in here in the last 10 seconds of this run oh just walking into that so that'll do it for Alec Medeiros right here I think we'll likely see him in the team challenge for flip as well two runs here so run one was a bust for him but this was a started strong is awesome so much control on that crooked guy you think he just kind of came into that came in hot like Andrew said I was looking at too much speed yeah look at the way he popped out of that he just sailed through that King jock Medeiros right now doesn't he want to think about what just happened on that run he'll get another shot at it but he's got to watch the rest of these guys come food Tommy Finn is up next would be the next competitor to drop here got Tommy's just been dropping the most insane Internet clips lately yes next level difficulty especially on ledges and rails and as you said and read that this course really suits Tommy all right back lift down the rail to start coming at the other rail nice noseblunt really really locked in at Tommy's another one was such positive energy he always root for him nice kick look from board [Music] coming in fakie for that fakie five-o getting away from in our 360 flip flip a little bit of wheel bite I'll tell you what there's a couple guys on the end of that top eight right now that are breathing a sigh of relief at a couple of the major players have fallen on their first two runs bubble guys are going maybe I'm safe but maybe not because you still got Mickey Papa you tell her to go May and Alvin Toffler and this is run number one yeah I think you flip getting away so Tommy Finn going down there there's another look it's Tommy on the course going for that kickflip front board sticking it [Music] it's kind of where things went awry going for that stuff fakie ollie which nose grind so taught me that all the way around on the three flip flip it's a problems first run that's beauty this you get two runs to come out here and put it down yeah don't count him or Alec out they've got plenty of conscious experience he's got to stay on for that second run just over there to the right we see Mickey Poppa getting ready to drop he's in the team competition whose bubble switch competition coming out setting it off with a kickflip front board down the rail so wiki is so so consistent it's why he excels in competition he's got a really really good look at that Wow it like hardly leaves his feet 30 seconds it's got to stay on I think he's another guy if he can stay on he can get a lot of tricks in drag yeah he knows how to hustle if you had a calibre of tricks really high Oh scary back tail getting away from him rare fall whoa nollie heel front boards the timing on that so difficult alright well that will do it for big papa on his first run seriously technical moves there in the beginning if he can put that all together I think he has a shot of getting up in that top eight let's take a look at some of these tricks look at that kickflip crook the kickflip so fast [Music] so Mickey I mean just by virtue of the technicality of this run you're saying that you think it'd be this kind of sticks what he was trying he's in for sure yeah I think I think if he could put it all together he has the potential to get up there yeah I mean look at that it's a seventy nine point three three with a couple Falls so got to stay on but it's a tough cut Yuto here ago me coming out of Japan I'm so excited to see what he bring enemy switch feeble grind back back to regular does that trick like it's nothing nice now I cooked down the little rail oh look at the speed right now back three all the way to flat first person we've seen take it all the way to flat today I like heal up three see now right now he added the nollie heelflip up in a few extra points there fix bent front for DeBakey look at Rosie this is a great run switch front blunt down the rail he's getting a lot of tricks in a lot of really difficult tricks and really difficult this has the potential and that'll do it is it gonna be enough scored again I'd say that yeah that's a top 5 run right yeah its top 5 I don't think it's gonna bump off the top spot Chaz Ortiz is running well it's a little bullet break it down here we got nollie 180 switch people back to regular nollie crooked on the rail which is gonna be considered a basic relatively basic within this competition it's all relative flat adding in difficulty there's the 360-foot after he did the not only heal up one of the first people have seen make a three flip off the bomb over the gap today I think that's a third-place run I'm just gonna guess guesstimate I think you're you're on the money which front blunt first the third place right now is 87 with disenzo we will see shocked as we are I mean the objects were afraid the difficulty was there I'm at one all the way up into the top spot wow so that puts us straight into Kelvin Hoefler geez kelvins now like Brad alright so I had to be 287 but now I'm up to 91 thanks guys thanks Yuto he's started off as a switch front blunt crazy because if that was a regular front blunt yeah I would a kickflip Danny gap to nose blunt he's another guy he's got crazy control and so many tricks and he's good at making adjustments depending on scores and where he stands I think Utah might have just got in his head a little bit it's a tough run to follow up nollie front board [Applause] frontside slip-up oh man his front foot came off yeah really in his rotation on Calvin's just gonna be looking at his second run at this point gap to bec knows one alright so he's kind of teasing us right there if he can actually put all of that together that's gonna be crazy it's gonna be a really good run but he's got to do it when it matters Kelvin is great under pressure so right now Yuto here fill me with a monster score I mean seriously 91 Chaz Ortiz now sitting in second Yuto wonderboy out of Japan and I believe that bumped out I want to say Zion right yep leapin Gustavo now on the bubble in a place with one run to go he's got to be nervous about that Alec Medeiros about to drop in for his second shot at this to try to make it into that exclusive eight-man final that will be competing in men's Pro Street later on this weekend remember this is just the qualifier no one's going home with an oversized novelty June switch him to grind Alec off to a strong start company with a lot of speed again same chair getting away from them again so safe to say our COO Jairus probably won't be making 40 seconds left there's been six calm it down here judging what's the partial mounting now to try to put my place where the judges are and they've been yeah it's definitely tough out 12 seconds left jerks and don't you go down art guy 50 54 Alec so unfortunately we'll have to save it for the flip team challenge the Jerris gnarlier for a long time coming from young upstart we got four dudes that are left in this thing man Tommy thin Mickey Papa Yuto Rd up there and Kelvin who did not have a great first run so there's a lot of room for improvement still I wonder if you two really did just rattle him like completely contest rattle him with like sorry I just got a 91 everything that you had planned that was gonna outdo that 87 well good luck straight out the window all right tell me Finn back into this this is the second run last chance to make it into that top eight this is the last heat of the day in men's Pro Street qualies Tommy definitely has what it takes his tricks nice back lip coming across that other down rail noseblunt that's such a basic for Tommy look front board holds a lot of flick Tommi style here we go fake u5o down the rail chérif lip-lip makes it nice 20 seconds left creepy bride up yeah nice recovery here and seconds left this run setup all comes down to this bumpy that's time so Tommy ending things off with an exclamation point with that combo kickflip to 360 flips and just a mellow back into 180 nosegrind to Beaver it up why not yeah so his fall out there was that nose blowing but everything else was really solid including that 360 flip boom the extension on those legs so well well this is gonna be an interesting one where is that gonna put the bubble score right now eighty two point three three Felipe Gustavo Davao is probably biting his nails right now Shawn to front poured down the rim started Thanks [Music] so quicker sorry [Applause] smooth backside Smith cranked out in the long rail together a really good run company to dolly look at not only back 180 nosegrind oh yeah that's a risky one all right he fell on that one on the last one do more tricks front board yes makes it 5 seconds left you like [Music] [Applause] really well done Mickey Papa is now a contender so Mickey and thirteenth that puts him in our finals for sure yeah I think he's getting up there see you later on the bubble he's on he's in the bubble right now harsh just send him away with like a snack or something i mean like i ran up you're simply calling scores there was that nollie bow that he nosegrind so sick I don't know if I've ever seen anybody do that reinforced that was a great run so if we think of Tsavo if Mickey Papa scores better than something of Stavropol gustado we'll go home with some lovely fun lots of belly babe knows it's likely Mickey score will bump him out I like that the judges are taking their time on it baby's not giving up yet [Applause] this split screen drama it's building I like how the guys are like what are they doing you get this into a triple screen and have bill wheeze in the middle all right - Mickey score coming in [Applause] all right that score 84 that means that Mickey Papa now up in the sixth place and Felipe Gustavo is bumped out so harshly said that unfortunately Mickey is so good under pressure man we've seen him do it so many times nice work so Mickey Papa he's got the switch Jam coming up loose while the switch damn he's also got the team challenge as you to her go man our leader with a 91 this is just running this point that was so not only wouldn't you switching people back to regular oh hey Yuto during first you should probably step it up not only feel don't slide down the rail coming in so fast back three flat perfect so casual a nollie heel up nice 360 kickflip trying to outdo himself he doesn't even need this run and he's just executed for the hell of it [Music] from board the finals are gonna be nuts thank God he's got a 91 to fall back on yeah quick glimpse at Kelvin Hoefler pressure is on for Kelvin yeah he is outside the bubble right now so you tow nothing wrong but here we go Kelvin Hoefler score to beat 83.3 to skin ready this is just warm up guys clock is not started so he'll get another crack I think he's going for that switch front blunt again that's a risky start a Andrew yeah that's crazy setting the tone with a switch front blunt no risk it no biscuit that's they say in the streets in the streets of Encinitas right streets events at once man so yeah it needs to get an 83 82 feet at eighty three point three three two out dude DeSean Jordan this is a tough spot as good as Kelvin is as consistent as he is there is so much pressure on him right now he's one to God few tourists before he won a street one doc the street style downhill top eight right now man Deshawn Jordan anxiously awaiting this run so risky to do that a second time he pulls it he wants it though he's gone for it makes it this is looking good evidently not a proper board there we go okay all the drives of pressure and the pressure is definitely on right now wow did you see that back foot to himself there's no relaxing escape ten seconds left couple more tricks maybe one big one who's gonna need something big right here the judges tough moment right here who's it gonna be that makes it really tough okay that was cash after super casual yeah that fall makes really tough yeah does that beat an eighty three point three three all right so we got 80 looking for so many difficult tricks that gap Quebec noseblunt was perfect locked super difficult back 180 nosegrind so much power I started off with the switch front blunt we got that cab right there after he front side flipped into the bank kitten is like track and field on there's the almost get some wheel bite there this is where it went wrong it was not only nosegrind that was arguably the easiest thing in his run put on a slippery bar it's like come on Calvin you should have done it down the rail you're risking it for the biscuit of course what you guys think opinions here I'd have to see Deshawn to run again [Applause] point six six I would not have guessed that so Kelly was gonna say he just edged out to Shawn but I was not gonna jump the rankings Blair Ali is with the guy who's sitting in the number two spot right now Kelvin Hoefler all right so the big reveal just went down she jumped up into second you weren't even going to make the top eight and that run puts you in second and I saw you're the last skater all day the cameras are on you're you're freaking out before you run what were you thinking yeah it was pretty much like so much pressure you might back you know so yeah I made them I'm so glad to make it so yeah make sure to finals for Sunday the top eight was a hard nut to crack oh we started with 25 strong and to get it down to eight was insane I mean the guys that were getting bumped out that had insane runs yeah exactly sorry dish on this joins my is my main so man I mean I'm so dude sorry I'm so sorry dude but yeah we are here you don't need to apologize it's a contest you're supposed to win yeah I know me but I like he mean he's my duty so yeah yes reneging next week so hopefully we can make it to finals together well last year's champion will be skating it on Sunday Congrats I was incredible thank you guys thank you Blair wow what an intense afternoon of skateboarding I like that we went basically split-screen style for two different people right there outside the bubble trying to make their way in so you toe hair go Mae wins the qualifier with a 91 but you know what all these scores are washed and wiped when we head into the final event the only thing that you toher go may really want today was the ability to go last and watch everyone's runs so based on this whole smattering of people what do you think I mean you think this is a pretty good indicator of what we're gonna see yeah I think Yuto is gonna be really really hard to beat he's just got so many difficult tricks and such technical tricks as well that I don't know you know if Kelvin were to pull that last trick though with the nollie noseblunt and put it all together is he a 91 it's it's tough to say why do you think Andrew I think if Kelvin instead of going not only nosegrind went kickflip front blunt down the rail which he absolutely could do I think he has the potential to get in there and take over that top spot well look I mean the the graphic right here you see it like there's just so many different countries representing Japan Brazil US Canada I mean skateboarding is such a truly international I mean competitive landscape these days and it's it's crazy it's really cool and you know moving into an Olympic sport coming up pretty soon I mean you think about a sport that has a whole bunch of countries represented fairly equally coming in it's going to be crazy so let's check some of the highlights from the street qualifying today and it was banger all the way through [Music] started off telling a clone early on nice nollie cab there sorry Trent McClung action cries bird think about Axl's first perfect run we've seen so much steam I was like seven I thought he was in the finals for sure Jagger Eaton back Smith for the front blunt kickflip out nice back three dagger squeaking into tomorrow's finals he's got what it takes to win this whole thing as well if he puts it all together chase web kickflip front 50 chase came out and skate of course really cool really utilized all the rails [Music] show the missing that gap too feeble but he made that gap 50 which I think was even more difficult I'm with you on that honey that was crazy then Chaz Ortiz threw down a perfect perfect run stoked to have him in our final [Music] the bacons Davo unfortunately not able to get in there he was bumped out but a great showing on the forest today got Ryan disenzo nice nollie heel disenzo ended up in fifth place overall moving on to the final stoked on that and then this man [Music] the Yuto absolutely slaying it today unreal skating more coming up the booths mobile switch gym we got that coming up the finals are set for later on this weekend stick around you're watching the Dew Tour from Long Beach built by Mountain Dew you you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh you brought butch he's looking at me right now is he [Music] which is like an old soul that just hates my guts [Music] you can never have too many faithful companions that's why I got Subaru Crosstrek love is out there finding a Subaru Crosstrek [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I'm 19 years old or did you know I'm 18 years old Justin Randy I'm 19 years old I'm 18 years old I was probably seven right when I got aboard my parents didn't really want me skating around in the street so there was like alright let's check out some parks before [Music] I grew up in white and they built a park in my neighborhood I went and I just loved it right away and so I never really got in the street because of that there's three main parts when I was growing up they're all 20 to 30 minutes from my house Southern California is like the skate capital of the world there's so many parks here more than like any other state or like any other place in the world there's a park around the corner from my house I created a scene definitely since moving to California and like all these new parks are popping up all over the place the progression has definitely gotten a lot higher for everyone what gets me most stoked is when I show up to a park and there's something unique there like a weird off school or maybe like a DIY spot or it's kind of gnarly or steep most exciting things in the house school couldn't wait to be at the park you show up at a park everyone's killing it and like everyone's just like going for it like that's what I want to be there doesn't matter your level as long they're like trying a new trick you're like really going for it makes me want to learn new tricks too I know I'm like young and I wake up and I'm not like super sore thinking like that so I think I'm trying to like I guess take advantage of that just like see how much I can do at this age now we're just gonna keep getting more progressive and more progressive and hopefully keep continuing to get equal for men and women in ten years I'll definitely still be skating I mean as long as I'm skating still I think I'd be really hope I'm still healthy having a good time it's what life's all about I'm Luke pellets here and this is my collaboration with do tour [Music] it's rad to be working on an event that ties together skateboarding with our [Music] check out my full collection at the detour merch booth in a world where you're judged purely on what you create secret walls sets to define the truly exceptional from the great 90 minutes two teams of the best and illustration go head-to-head armed with only black paint and a white wall these teams must create the most impressive battle mural to destroy their opponent the crowd judge the winner and the rest as they say is history welcome to secret walls [Music] hello and welcome back to Long Beach California this is do tour live I am your host Chris Cote and I'm excited but I'm also a little bit nervous because we got our beef on set right now I'm talking about secret walls I've got two team captains here and this is a really cool concept we've got skate battles happening out here in Park and Street em and pro but over by the lagoon we've got secret walls two teams battling it out you got 90 minutes to cover a massive 8 by 20 wall with your incredible art I've got two team captains here natasha Lily pour and Brian Butler so secret walls welcome this is your first year competing at do tour this is very exciting for all of us I know it's coming up soon tell me about the secret walls concept and the battle that we're about to see down here at the lagoon we're stoked to be out here it's our first time at the Dew Tour it's a 90 minute black and white art battle so what happens is we're gonna have two teams at 3:00 rocking these giant 8 foot by 20-foot walls and at the end of 90 minutes the audience that's collected over that time is gonna cheer for their favorite time their favorite side we're gonna win a whole tub full of Mountain Dew a mountain Dew tub I mean you can literally bathe in Mountain Dew after the art battle so tell me when you go into this process you've got a blank wall you've got your team clocks about to start what goes through your mind you just blank out and start doing art what happens I think it's a little bit different for everybody and that's part of what's so cool is that you get to see each individual artist different process for me personally it takes a couple minutes to get into it and then you just kind of zone out it's a little bit meditative and you don't pay attention to the crowd or anything you just go for it and try to do the best that you can with 90 minutes it's a different kind of freestyle let's talk about the team you have put together here you got drew visuals and Robin Eisenberg so it's a three artists team how do you split up the work because this is just a blank a literal blank wall of a canvas you get involved how does each team member pitch in you know typically each person kind of picks a part of the wall to start and will like talk about an idea beforehand but usually once you get into it everything changes and it becomes this really cool collaborative piece and that's what's so great about it is getting to just you know you just do it impromptu and you don't have a whole lot of time to think about it and it's very like battle royale style I love it Brian you've got Denise to shed a Pinto and super wax how're you feeling about your team's chances this year I'm stoked we got an all-star team I think they're pretty equally matched Natasha and I are both veterans of secret walls are both probably in like the tens like maybe 11 13 something like that and each of our teams have first-timers my first-timers Denis and Natasha's is Drew and Robin and super waxer also they've done a couple matches themselves so they know their way around a giant eight foot by twenty foot wall evenly matched teams and another cool part of 'secret walls here at do tour is the judges or the audience so at the end of this 90-minute art battle it's basically going old-school round of applause style judging so uh he's not listening right this is just us and then any tactics any kind of special things you're gonna pull out to WoW the audience is the creation of the work part of the show to get their attention yeah I mean the whole thing is about drawing people in and enticing people and I think in inspiring people because a lot of the people that are watching are either interested in art or up-and-coming artists or aren't into it at all but it's still really inspiring to watch somebody create something out of nothing within 90 minutes so it's all about just enticing people and getting people interested getting the crowd hyped Brian secret tricks tactics what are you gonna do to get this long beach crowd behind your team this isn't new it's not a secret her and I both know the secret to win this thing it's free t-shirts free t-shirts out to the crowd t-shirts and stickers so this is a pretty cool thing this is the first year ever here at do tour but art secret walls has been going on for a long time how did this concept start you know I feel like the battle concept has been you know it's been done and wrap done in skateboarding sending a lot of sports but I love the idea of bringing it into the art world so tell me about the origins of secret walls sure it was started in the UK and it started as like just kind of this like pub thing where just their be weekly battles tournament style it's kind of grown into this global thing now there's like over 40 countries 80 cities across the entire world that these things have happened she's been to Dubai I've been to Puerto Rico and like we've just been all over this country doing they was that what the Warped Tour like early 90s and I ended up on a box like fender box and for a promotional situation that we we did back then but anyway we've been friends ever since and we've been like we've been talking about this little things and this is one of the little things that we made that's awesome and the Fender Custom Shop friends at Fender are some of the best friends you could possibly have well we're you know we always shoot hi we'd love to get something going on so we'll see what happens well music and skateboarding have always been a it goes hand-in-hand very close see everybody rocking out there with their ear buds thanks for bringing the guitar on so for the rest of the weekend we've got the team event coming up this is teams of wood companies right the backbone of skateboarding the Dew Tour is famous for its unique team competition oh yes so we've got teams from all over the world teams of four and it's gonna get heated do you have a favorite team competing here at Dew Tour no I don't and to be totally honest it's because I don't know which teams are competing and I'm gonna have to apologize that's my home right I brought the wrong paperwork too this is a this is step about other stuff but it's fine because you know what you can go to do tour calm and you get all the information you want also trans with skateboarding calm so everything's out there and you and I are gonna do our homework and we're gonna get fired up team competition starts this weekend Saturday and Sunday skateboarding all day long men's and women's we can talk about that the women have been invited to compete here at their tour they've been absolutely ripping yeah inclusion of women here idea tour I think it's great I mean gosh it's happening it's on that we've got a lot of girls a lot of participants happening all over the world and it's a great to see the whole women's skateboarding acknowledgement finding blossom in the industry because we've I mean gosh I've been I've been we're gonna welcome for 25 years traveling doing all this stuff and it's like I've always seen the gals and they always let the gal know we could let her in the men's contest you know because you know what are they gonna do say no but now there's enough participants that are happening that they got their own contest schedules and categories and everything's cool yeah it's been super fun to watch the women we're ripping the street course yesterday in practice we will see more women's Pro skateboarding on Street and in Park throughout the weekend here at Dew Tour and other than the skateboarding some cool experience is happening here down in a lagoon we've got food trucks we've got art we've got something called blood and guts so love and guts excuse me so this is art by I'm sure my heroes your heroes as well guys like Christian Hosoi Steve cobbler we had Lance mountain on the show here yesterday Pat no ho involved this time around hot no hos involved he's a great guy good friend while they all are but you know that's one of those rootsy dudes yeah I mean art skateboarding music really is a collective of things we like to celebrate here at Dew Tour what are you gonna be doing for the rest of the weekend what do you want to see during your time here at you tour I'm definitely just gonna be watching all the heats and all the finals and just mingling a lot of friends here a lot of guys and gals and just it's always good I mean it's local where this is in our backyard so it's
