goodness in creating mothers you gave them eyes to watch over us and ears to listen to our joys and struggles our laughter and tears you gave them legs to run to us when we fall and arms to pick us up again to hold us as we cry or cradle us while we sleep you gave them hands to wipe away the tears to brush the hair from our eyes and dirt from our faces to hold when we're scared or when we want to dance or when we just need a little help you gave them mouths to kiss away the pain and voices to encourage and comfort to pray with us [Music] do [Music] do [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] to [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] god praise god good morning everyone a happy mother's day and praise the lord to every single woman to every great-grandmother every grandmother every mother every adopted mother every fostering mother every spiritual mother every aunt every single mother stepmothers as long as you are mothering in any capacity do you know the favor of god is upon all his women and today we celebrate with you we understand it is still a stressful time but god is not stressed god is looking to alleviate you from your stress and i pray you will just embrace an attitude of worship today just glorifying the lord in every way that you can would you just find joy in your inner being and allow the spirit of the lord to swell in your spirit regardless of where your children are at who can't visit you today the spirit of the lord shall visit with you and the greatest visitation is when jesus himself has visited you so would you receive his presence today would you receive the hug of holy ghost who's right with you right now would you take that holy ghost hug this morning and just embrace an atmosphere of worship that will lift you to the heavenlies father i thank you for every mother every spiritual mother every type of mother lord god as we celebrate who they are and what they've done why you created them and why you so love them so father today lord be pleased to accept our praises and our thanksgiving in jesus name amen would you join us in worship with the lockdown we're allowed ten people we have four on our media we've got two pastors and we have four fabulous women's band today on women's day god bless you as we worship together would you move the furniture out of the way and dance before the lord he's a good god god you are so good thank you jesus for allowing all those sweet mothers to see another year come on worship with him with us i wanna scream it out from every mountaintop your goodness knows no bounds your goodness never stops your mercy paul loves me your kindness fills my life your love amazes me come on sing at your homes and i sing because know that we can put our trust in you today standing here not knowing how [Music] catch you by surprise you've got this figured out and you're watching us now but when it loads us [Music] we need those who are alone in their homes god help them to know that you're making a way for them lord take away thoughts of loneliness anxiety and depression lord god help us to find joy in you lord because your way god [Music] you know every heart lord meet them where they're at right now god right there in their homes jesus [Music] i love you [Music] oh your lord never fails me in all my days i've been singing of your goodness we've been singing of your faithfulness to us and lord it's not just words it's our heart today we love you we thank you that you made a way for us by sending your son jesus and you didn't leave us but you continue to make a way for us so today lord i'm calling out to you for many that are waiting for you to intervene in their situation father we're praying right now for those who aren't well we pray for those that are in the hospital those who are fighting lord to survive we pray that in the name of jesus that you would heal them because you are still the great physician we thank you for the testimonies of healing that we have heard recently and god it's because of your faithfulness father we pray that you would come alongside everyone in their hospital bed today father come alongside people in their homes who knew who need a visitation of your holy spirit father we also pray today that you will give strength to those who are grieving or those who have recently lost loved ones those who have lost loved ones in recent months would you be their comforter lord you promised that you would come alongside us and you have because you are so faithful we also want to pray today for those who are struggling lord because they've lost their jobs because the finances aren't there you are still the provider lord you still provide our every need according to your riches in christ jesus so we ask you today in the name of jesus may they see miracles oh god in their household father may they see things multiplied and that you would receive the honor and the glory we also pray today for those front-line workers and essential workers lord they're wary they need your strength lord we've prayed for them many times you've helped them you've carried them would you continue to do that oh god by the strength that only you can give for those today who are discouraged oh god may they know that you're with them you never leave us nor forsake us lord our future is still bright because of your promises you're still in control you are a mighty god and we thank you for your presence in our lives and god whatever whatever is happening in lives today for people that are online father may we look to you may we look to you to be our source you are the one who can take any situation in our lives and turn it around for your honor and for your glory father give strength today may we say like job i know that my redeemer lives and lord you live today we thank you for your presence we thank you for your love may you continue to work in us father use us at this time in our world lord to be a blessing to others may your fruit be shown in our lives god be glorified in us today we thank you in jesus name amen thank you jesus praise god amen and good morning again happy mother's day what a great day of celebration and this is a time of affirmation for women worldwide we welcome you online ppc church worldwide church we welcome you this mother's day there's a worldwide pandemic but we serve a god who's in control of this world and today it's a day of encouragement for all mothers a day of affirmation for all moms just to say we love you we appreciate you we thank god for who you are we thank god for what you do we thank god for your strength we thank god for your perseverance we thank god for your tenacity we thank god for your forcefulness we thank god for your love we thank god for your grace we thank god for your kindness we thank god for mothers worldwide may the lord richly bless you this morning would you receive that from our heart to your hearts god bless you amen praise god well this morning i want to just take a moment and just remind you there are many ways that you can give we are so thankful for the faithfulness of god's people to this church and we say now to our online church our worldwide church feel free to support us as it still takes so much to keep going and electronically it is even more so but we thank god he's been so faithful to us and we're able to stream week after week and we bless you for being a part of our online church many ways to give there's push pay there's e-transfer is you that we want to help in whatever way we can with india we have four missionaries we're going to support they are our missionaries so we know they're on the ground they're doing the work and they're being faithful in a time of pandemic we the church put up 10 000 and we ask those who want a match we raise uh just over 8 500 and so there's just a little bit more just push it over the 10 000 so we can use that to support those missionaries that are on the ground god bless you father thank you lord for those who give so faithfully lord god would you reward them push press down shaken together running over those that are struggling lord may they see the increase come into their lives we know everything has become so expensive but father would you put the sales before them the to honor all of our mothers right after that nicole and our wonderful female band give a hand from home for our female band juliet nall we thank god for you today would you just listen to this video and receive it as our blessing to you amen so much has changed this past year but one thing has stayed the same our need for the mothers in our lives when we're most weary moms continue to nurture encourage and model selflessness mothers often seem to hold the world together in big ways and small we acknowledge all they all you do center stage and behind the scenes tangible and intangible we thank god for how you love and support a care package of favorite things a home-cooked meal a note that makes us laugh a full-bodied hug a gentle word of advice a clean house when we come home we celebrate the young mothers who nurture their little ones with their own bodies the mothers who dedicate their time to fostering the gifts of their children the grandmothers who remember every birthday the mother figures and godmothers who give of their resources time and laughter in person or miles away the mothers and mother figures in our lives bless us and we're so grateful you deserve more than one day of gratitude because you give of yourself every day in so many ways still we pause today to acknowledge you and thank god for you happy mother's day we just bless the lord for our mothers i'm a mother of three boys and i am surely blessed as well it's a good day we just want to continue to bless you [Music] god bless the lord [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] me for i will bless the lord [Music] [Applause] yes [Music] [Music] is [Applause] [Music] is [Music] is praise the lord bless his holy name i trust you're feeling blessed at home this morning i want to share just a brief word we've got a number of things lined up for you this morning and my my little word to you begins with this how can we be expressing love in many little ways expressing your love in many little ways the process of demonstrating love through many ways is so simple and i trust you will listen as i share this passage and a few thoughts from it today my passage begins in exodus chapter 1 verse 20 to 22 and then exodus chapter 2 verse 1 to 10. exodus chapter 1 verse 20 to 22. here's the background in a very painful season so god was good to the midwives and the israelites continued to multiply growing more and more powerful and because the midwives feared god he gave them families of their own then pharaoh gave this order to all his people throw every new newborn hebrew boy into the nile river but you may let the girls live this was a very painful season in x in the story of exodus and as you saw there were some midwives some women who decided no one will let me compromise my spiritual values or my moral values and they defied even the wicked king and spared the lives of the boys and now comes the second part of that story exodus chapter 2 verse 1 to 10. this is the answer that god has sent and this is what i call a birth and a blessing exodus chapter 2 about this time a man and a woman from the tribe of levi got married the woman became pregnant and gave birth to a son she saw that he was a special baby and kept him hidden for three months but when she could no longer hide him she got a basket made of pepperous reeds and waterproofed it with tar and pitch she put the baby in the basket and laid it among the reeds along the bank of the nile river the baby's sister then stood at a distance watching to see what would happen to him verse five soon pharaoh's daughter came down to bathe in the river and her attendants walked along the riverbank when the princess saw the basket among the reeds she sent her maid to get it for her when the princess opened it she saw the baby the little boy was crying and she felt sorry for him this must be one of the hebrew children she said then the baby sister approached the mis the princess should i go and find one of the hebrew women to nurse the baby for you she asked yes do the princess replied so the girl went and called the baby's mother take this baby and nurse him for me the princess told the baby's mother i will pay you for your help so the woman took her her baby home and nursed him later when the boy was older his mother brought him back to pharaoh's daughter who adopted him as her own son the princess named him moses for she exclaimed i lifted him out of the water here's a story this morning and i want to begin talking about in a season of distress exodus is written in a season of great distress when the israelites god's chosen people were under the dominant rule of an ungodly nation where everything was conducted in an extremely sacrilegious manner everything the people were enslaved oppression was ripe people were being mistreated they were abused they were beaten it was a deliberate attempt by the enemy which at that time was egypt but the enemy comes in forms to cut down god's god-fearing people the god-fearing population of israel and to render them subjects to an evil regime and we constantly are faced where the enemy of our soul is trying to cut down cut down our children cut down our family cut down our boys cut down our girls but women always rise to the challenge and since the garden of eden women have defeated the serpent defeated the enemy defeated the enslaver defeated the one who comes to suppress and oppress and steal the hope of the next generation women have always been that so the people were living in a time of oppression persecuted it just seemed like there was no way out every day was the same but the people of israel found a way to overcome this oppression and this persecution they found strength amidst all that they were living under they found strength to give birth to many more children who would continue in their godly footsteps ladies here it is do not fear the enemy let the enemy fear you the bible tells us that these women beaten abused their husbands have these women enslaved and treated like nothing but they decided as long as i fear god there is hope for me and my generation and so while the pharaoh was killing off their children they found strength to go give birth do you know what it takes you moms know what it takes to give birth to carry for nine months to push when you haven't even had the nutrition and you don't have the strength but they know how to push on and these women pushed out more children until the pharaoh feared the nation of israel oh ladies i pray you'll get to the point where the devil fears you because you become so protective over the generations that he realizes he shall not win he cannot win because victory is already assured for the children of god the hardship of the egyptians should have worn them out completely so they had no strength to give birth no hope to give life to another generation but instead of reducing them to nothing the israelites rapidly increased until the egyptians feared them feared they were outnumbered oh we're not seeing a lot of our young people in church right now the enemy has a grip on them but women of god rise up until the enemy fears the church because we're calling them back in from the music industry out of drug culture away from opioid out of the gangs out of this ideology of sacrilegiousness we're calling them back in until the church is is the prime place for the young people the next generation to go and the enemy will fear the church we don't fear him he shall fear us across the world i declare this message to you today folks the promises of god are irrevocable regardless of the season whatever season we're in god is still there isaiah 41 10 says don't be afraid for i'm with you don't be discouraged for i am your god what i will strengthen you and help you i will uphold you with my righteous victorious right hand women of god husbands and friends and sons and those that are looking on single men oh no matter who you are know this god has given women a capacity to be strong in the time of oppression even in this season we're going in women do not become frail and weak you are to be a formidable force in the midst of oppression that's who women always are that's who will hold the line that's who will strengthen everyone else and cause them to see we can make it by the grace of god when there's a praying woman behind a family when there's a praying woman behind the church when there's a praying woman in society not a devil in hell can take what we've got we're beginning to see crime rise and families fall apart but women get back to the place of prayer where we've lost out as we stop praying we stop believing and we stop pushing up this woman had to push out another child in the midst of oppression push out a miracle in the midst of your situation hallelujah the fear of egypt got so vile that he launched his ultimate attack against israel he said you know what i'm not winning against these midwives i'm not winning against these women kill all the boys just kill all the boys the enemy will flow he will throw he will hurl one big attack but no matter how big the attack god will give you a strategy to always outwit the enemy the woman believed god in spite of her circumstance and she found a way to outwit the enemy because she was determined he will not destroy my family with gut ladies we must always be prepared to find a strategy not of our own intellect nowadays a lot of women are we're caught up there was a time when the educational strata was not equal now it's equal but we're too much striving to show how educationally strong we are i'm gonna ask you that's good to have all of that put it aside let's be spiritually strong so we will have strategies not of humans not of men's making not of women's making but strategies from the divine throne room of almighty god that no devil can defeat are you with me this morning women online men online are you with me shout a hallelujah this morning so this despite her circumstances she found a way to outwit the enemy and this courageous mother jacob became the mother of moses moses was born in the time of oppression it doesn't matter how difficult the situation be courageous be prayerful be determined and find an answer in the midst of the situation nothing defeats the love of a mother oh come on now nothing defeats the love of a mother the love of this mother spawned the works of a father stimulated the guidance of a sister activated the compassion of a stranger and enacted the kindness of some workers let me just run that through again the love of this mother spawned the works of a father stimulated the guidance of a sister activated the compassion of a stranger and enacted the kindness of some workers let me just run this through for you the love of a mother jacob was a slave of the lowest rank and position imaginable she had no special standing but she had a mighty stance in god and she was courageous righteous hope-filled woman be a courageous righteous hope-filled woman she was a woman of wisdom she planned out an unheard-of strategy to defeat the greatest enemy she planned out an unheard of strategy to defeat a king she was a woman of faith she trusted god that god what you've shown me what you put in my heart it shall come to pass i shall not let go and she established a new standard for the nation of israel she saved the life of god's intended deliverer for israel and then moses is a type of christ that showed us that christ will send a deliverer for his people deliverance is still for us in this day she had no idea who moses would become but she knew he would be someone great so she found the strength in a difficult oppressive season to do something great for god do you hear my underlining message here find the strength in an oppressive season to do something great for god and because of her faith she influenced the works of a father who was also living under daily pain and oppression in an evil society so let me tell you about the works of a father the works of a father amram was from a priestly line as her husband therefore he would not listen to me he would not have been accustomed to working in the fields or making brick he was a priest who was supposed to be working in the temple bringing in the sacrifice but imagine how distressed and suppressed and and frustrated the season of his life was when the pharaoh made all of them go to make bricks from straw and here's this priest just probably totally demoralized but his wife a simple woman of sp faith spoke a word to him that brought new hope i i'm just imagining this you've i'm reading into the story where i could see it happening i could imagine jacob saying amram let's do something to protect our son's life we can't watch him die amram you're good with your hands make me a basket that would float on water a basket doesn't float a basket sinks but she goes make me a basket that would float and she obviously knew that his love language his way of helping was to do acts of service to to do little things to make her happy and so he probably said you know what i'll make anything that will make you happy this doesn't make sense but i'll do it folks the problem that we have is sometimes we want everything to make sense when god gives you a word it doesn't always make sense but if it's from god you nurture it in your spirit pray it through and then watch what god will do so amram showing his love and his compassion and his faith with his wife he went and he made a basket that floats i want you to keep that in your mind a basket doesn't float but he made a basket that floats this is what we can do when our hearts are in tune with god and now this led to something else they put the baby in the basket and here comes the guidance of a sister his sister named miriam was older and although poor her life was not in the same jeopardy as her brother the pharaoh was not killing the girls they were just enslaving them but the boys were being killed and and so here she was watching her brother whose life is going to be snuffed out sisters you're a part of the mission sisters you're called up to something great miriam enjoyed obviously enjoyed spending time with people so when her parents placed her brother in a basket and put him on the nile river she decided you know what i don't know what else to do but i love spending time with people i'm gonna go stay by the basket i'm just gonna walk with the basket i could imagine her singing little songs to the basket so that the child wouldn't cry so the child would be fine so the child would feel comforted folks our natural gifts will make a difference in the life of other people are you getting me your natural gifts some people i don't have anything everyone has something pull it out of your heart pull it out of your spirit stop looking at other people's gifts what is your natural gift miriam's like you know what i just love being with people i'm gonna stay with this basket and her action caused her brother's life to be saved you don't know who you could bless whose life you can impact by just using your natural and so here comes the sisters there walking along with the basket and a stranger comes by while exercising this natural tendency to watch over people and be a companion with people miriam was able to see a miracle in action the king's daughter arrived and the king's daughter saw this basket floating well that's a phenomena so she's like what's going on here and she sends her maids to get it and this is when now the the the the princess herself had two choices fulfill the evil plan of her father who was gonna destroy all the hebrew children or fulfill her heartfelt compassion for humanity and help this boy every one of us will always be at a crossroad when we have to follow this path or that part always follow the path that will be a blessing to the kingdom of god a blessing to the future a blessing to the next generation we always have two choices imagine what her father would say if he knew you saved a child i told you to kill but she decided no no one has the right to kill a child i will save this hebrew boy and so here in her behavior and her willingness to conduct an unselfish action this child was spared ah folks uh this is all those gifts of love what was it she was one that just said you know what i'm a compassionate person i know how to do things for others last week we talked about india and and many people as i said you've given and i bless you and i pray that it will be just a a an abundance to those who receive it over there but we're always doing acts of service and folks never despise what you do never quantify what you do just do it for the glory of god just do it because it should be done can i online hearing amen right now the kindness of a worker the princesses the princess's action led to the kindness of her workers her her adop her action triggered a series of beautiful events from all the women who work for her her maids were happy to take the child and bring the child the maids could have said i don't want to be fired i don't want the fear to kill me i don't want to lose my job i'm going to report but no the maid stayed in action with her because they realized this is what is important friends there are times we make decisions because everyone else is doing it do what is right at all times and god will honor you no matter what the consequences you have to face and so here the the the workers bring this child and while they're bringing the child miriam who was now walking in her capacity was able to reveal herself and say you know what friends ladies princess i can bring you a nursing mother for this child in those days they didn't have baby bottles and so the children were nursed naturally and so it's best to get a mother who just had a baby oh do you see how the beauty of god how he weaves things together when we begin to act on the strategy he gives us all of the strategies come in line and so she goes and she gets the baby's mother and the baby's mother ladies here's another beautiful part that we need to remember when god is working out a miracle sometimes just shut your mouth just shut your mouth let me find a nicer way to say it as a dignified pastor femta bush just shut your mouth i can't find a nicer way because if i said it in a very eloquent way you may not get the essence of what i'm trying to say the essence of what i'm trying to say is sometimes god is working out a miracle but we want to get on and tell every other woman share it with everyone and then everyone feeds in their own opinion and the next thing you know fear has come and you've walked away from the miracle of god when miriam brought the mother she didn't come and go it's my child and thank you she just kept her mouth closed she took her child she nursed her child and you know what else she honorably brought the child back there are times when we've just got to work with what god is doing because god has a greater plan she took the child back we would have said it's my child got my child back not giving the child she's like nope i'm not telling you a thing dear princess you raise this baby the way god has planned because i know something great will happen would you prepare women to continue to bless the generations you heard us even announce about graduation i pray for graduates all the time start praying for graduates i don't care if you don't have a child pray for the graduates this year it's a hard year on them pray from the kindergarten right up to the university they're struggling they're feeling demoralized they're lost in a in a system that fell apart they're confused would you pray for them look out to somebody else's child even in prayer and god will honor you one day that child might be your doctor and you may be glad that you had prayed them through in jesus name amen so moses became the deliverer all because of the sequence of blessing this morning i want to talk about the process of demonstrating love through many ways and as i come down to a wrap in this part of the message i want to take us to another level today i want to share this mother's day time with another pastor mother businesswoman pastor ruby owens reverend ruby owens so we want to take a few moments to talk about expressing your love in many little ways and i'm going to begin this morning by asking pastor ruby a couple of questions and we've got a couple of videos that will flow in to show you what we are intending to declare so here's where we start pastor ruby welcome on this mother's day thou pastor mother businesswoman friend all of those good things so here's my question tell us about there's this philosophy on what's called love languages and tell us what it means and what it should mean to us dr gary chapman is the author of the five love languages chapman's premise is that relationships are better when we understand each other because everyone gives and receives love differently the five languages describe ways to express love on an emotional level they are as follows an act of service which is demonstrating love by serving or helping doing something for someone that they would want you to do for them physical touch is using touch to express love like a good hug words of affirmation is loving admiring and building each other up through words receiving gifts is showing love and appreciation through thoughtful giving the gifts don't need to be expensive i remember when i was in university rob came by to visit he brought me a flower and a mcdonald's cup i thought it was the sweetest thing quality time is showing love through focused time together now while all are important it's believed that every individual has at least one they prefer and respond best to known as their primary love language my love language is acts of service it fills my tank when rob takes time to care about things around our house like the yard work painting putting up a picture even loading the dishwasher i like it when tasks are completed because i am service oriented in expressing love i put a lot of time and energy into taking care of my family our home and doing things for rob but i learned over time that rob had a greater appreciation for physical touch even though he appreciated the things that we did because that's his love language we tend to love others the way we want to be loved rather than consider the way others want to receive love so it's important to take the time to understand each other's preferences we have been blessed with three children and a son-in-law their love languages are all different melissa gifts caleb words of affirmation tim quality time nick our son-in-law burgers and words of affirmation when we discover each other's love language and intentionally nurture it it will result in stronger relationships the deepest need for humans is to feel loved and appreciated by the significant people in their lives alonda tanner in her writing states jesus taught us to love unconditionally without reward or return the heart of the five love languages is to teach those who use it how to love without condition how to love as god loved it's about focusing on giving even when we receive nothing in return if you want to love as jesus loves you can look to the five languages and find jesus at the heart of it well thanks pastor ruby so what you said is great for your younger family but what about older couples and families well pastor marie people of all ages can benefit from this concept at any stage of a relationship it sure helps when other people's needs are considered everyone gains as we grow and age our needs change which makes it important for us to be adaptable to changing needs it can improve your understanding of each other and it contributes towards a happier home here's a video illustrating the point [Music] it is a funny thing about love as you grow older love changes it seems to to get sweeter somehow and i just have to say that over the years five decades bob and i have been married we've learned to respect one another to take care of one another and i still enjoy words of affirmation i must say and lots of hugs and i'm always telling him he's cute and that i'm always giving him hugs so you know i think really when it comes right down to it the best thing i can say is is that love gets sweeter it gets sweeter when you allow it to when you respect your partner and uh you treat him like he would like to be treated or her so and i guess it's the same with jesus because the longer we've known him the sweeter that gets to anyways i want to say happy mother's day to all the moms and god bless you all [Music] do you think pastor ruby that the recipients of the love language of this love language philosophy the recipients one's on the other side do they get what's happening yeah i do believe they do pastor marie so when people's emotional needs are met they feel supported and valued they may not always articulate it by saying that's my love language but will most usually respond in a positive way if you feel loved and appreciated you are going to be more fulfilled i believe automatically you'll want to give back marcia denner gives us a great example of that in this next video [Music] hi my number one love language is acts of service i like when things around the house that needs to be repaired gets repaired like a leaky faucet light bulb change even mowing the lawn washing the car those things gives me joy it makes me happy it fills me so when carl does these things like wash my car sometimes even surprise me by making me a supper i am definitely filled and i'm so happy and so thankful carl's number one love language is affirmation so of course i'll be sure to affirm that he has done these things and let him know how thankful i am and then he'll know that i'm happy and he's also happy and he'll be the first to let me know if i don't say anything that so you did not notice that i washed your car or you did not notice that the grass has been cut it's really important that we identify love languages not because one is more important than the other but because it brings peace it brings joy it brings love and unity and that's what's important that's what makes a difference in our lives so figure your love love language take care how has this love language helped your family and have you proven it to be like really helpful it definitely has helped after learning about the five love languages it helped rob and i to understand how each person in our family gives and receives love it helped us to be more intentional learning the language of our children has an impact on my relationship and connection with them it has helped them feel unconditional love accepted and understood melissa showed us early that she loved gifts i used to hide gifts and little notes when i went away for an extended period of time and this helped in my absence because it helped her count down the days until my return and today she still loves gifts tim loves quality time especially around the dinner table he always makes comments and and tells us how important it is for him to have that quality time with family caleb words of affirmation i would often write notes in his student agenda or place notes in his lunchbox and he really loved that looking out for each other as strengthen our family bond at this time i want you to enjoy video by diane hunt [Music] my name is diane expressing words of affirmation is a valued love language that i relate strongly to i often see when this love language is spoken to myself and those closest to me it often results in feeling appreciated feeling valued feeling encouraged and uplifted i often will speak those words to my children i have three three children and they respond in kind to these languages words of affirmations are my love language and i think it's better to give than receive and i practiced that thank you [Music] a couple of weeks ago pastor ruby was in my office and she was just sharing something with me about love languages and i just felt you know what as a single pastor i do everything i can to help everybody i'm just i'm in the doing do do do get get get going but i said i don't stop and focus on that after she left i thought no you know what perhaps even as singles we need to think about what this means and so i asked her to do the research get it all done and as you can see we've got a a bit of coverage here from different people i want to make mention here that i think this works even for young single women it's not about marriage it's about life and i think because gary smalley's teaching was catered to couples we as singles neglected the effectiveness for our lives for young men young women for everyone children so i want you to hear from one of our young adults that it's not about whether you're young or you're single male or female it's about how you deal life with everyone so let's go here's something from jade [Music] my love languages are quality time and acts of service i love to spend time with people i love to be around people all the time and i love it when people do things for me like drive me somewhere because i hate driving in terms of displaying the love languages however it's a bit of a different story i find it personally a little bit um unnatural to display affection just for me personally so uh i kind of go about a little bit more methodically and i try to give love in the way that i can sense people receive it so if someone is a physical touch person um if they're sad or excited about something i might try and touch them on the shoulder or give them a high five or something to show my excitement with them in that moment or if someone is a gifts person it's really easy to just go pick up something small or maybe something big sometimes and give it to them or if somebody's words of affirmation i admit that one is the hardest one for me to give but i try my best if that's what somebody receives love as to give them an encouraging word or to support them verbally through challenging times folks just stay with us a little bit longer i've only got about three powerful ones yet to come and if they're all a minute so it's quick now pastor ruby do you think knowing all this helps marriages families relationships to become better yes it definitely helps it helps families when this knowledge is applied that's the key it's not just knowing it it's putting it into practice it definitely strengthens relationships when couples are speaking each other's primary love language on a regular basis it will result in positive emotions better communication and emotional needs met my brother-in-law always says happy wife happy life when the emotional need for love is met it creates a climate where the couple can deal with the rest of life in a more productive manner when a person's needs are being met they are generally healthier and they respond better within the family environment they are built up as an individual and contributes more willingly to the family and this is illustrated beautifully in our next video by nicosa [Music] i'm nicosa i'm the mother of four boys and my preferred love language is apps of service over the years myself and my husband have come to the place where we recognize that we should be giving each other what the other person wants rather than what we want i prefer acts of service and he prefers words of affirmation and physical touch i also reflect and see that in some ways i have imposed my love language on my boys because i will often ask them when i give them a task where is your love in this and really what i want to communicate to them is that if they do a task grudgingly if they do any active service grudgingly it will show in the output which do you think is better to see the action or hear the words which one well pastor murray it depends on your love language for me it's to see the actions i tend to respond better to demonstrations of love uh through actions rather than words but if your love language is words of affirmation you'd want to hear the words and that is shown in our next video by carrie [Music] hi there for those of you that don't know me my name is carrie figuera i'm married to louie and together we have two sons noah and william i think if i had to describe the love language that speaks mostly to me it would have to be words of affirmation uh you know as a wife of 20 years and a mom of 19 of those years and working all the way along a lot of times you do so much and you know you're appreciated but sometimes you don't feel it because you need to hear it and for me when somebody says wow great job or thank you for doing that even though you didn't have to then that shows me that my hard work and my love and devotion to my family and my friends and my colleagues doesn't go unnoticed so words of affirmation definitely speak strongly to me so pastor ruby thank you for bringing this to our attention if you hadn't highlighted this so many of us wouldn't be blessed to stop and think about it to evaluate it to work it through and then now to prepare especially in this season where we can't just buy the big gifts but we could start doing the little things and i just want to share this one last video from candice who's one of our young professionals to say this is for everyone most people think that demonstrating love languages for couples only it isn't true it's for every single person so here's one of our young professionals and then our worship team's coming to close us out with a powerful song right after we pray a few years ago i took the online love language assessment and physical touch and quality time were tied as my top love languages as a pretty reserved and introverted person a lot of people don't believe me when i say that but those who are in my intimate circle they know this to be very true it's not uncommon for me to pester those i love in my life with just unsolicited poorly timed hugs uh that is is given just for the sole reason that i love them and they're in my vicinity uh friends as our as our relationship grows they may notice as well that as our relationship grows so do the number of pokes and shoulder hugs and linking up arms you know as we walk as for quality time the best gift that anyone can give me is a tea or coffee date anywhere it doesn't even matter where we just spend time together and laugh and and share our lives together i mean gifts are really great and compliments are appreciated but at the end of the day it's those moments where people set everything aside to spend time with me those are the moments that i will always remember and cherish a really funny story was that one birthday a close friend of mine stole me away from work and took me on this great trip to niagara falls where we spent the day together and did all these amazing excursions together it was great i loved it and i was it was very much appreciated but a couple of weeks later i shared with her that you know i probably would have been equally happy on her couch just spending time together and i think she took the hint because every special occasion after that always ended up on her couch with a pizza and a movie [Music] so folks i think we've given you great examples of how you can express love in many little ways and this is a season where you can really go at it really practice it really give it really receive it really affirm it really display it and let's just do it for the glory of god pastor ruby would you just bless us today in prayer father today we have been talking about your goodness and your the way that you have helped so many women and lord our word from the word of god today reminded us god how you always have a plan and women have sacrificed so much but god you have been with them you have been their strength and today we celebrate women around our world mothers god we pray a blessing on them father we thank you for mothers we thank you for praying moms that have prayed oh god and continue to pray for their families and other people's loved ones mother continued to bring the prodigals home we prayed today a blessing on every mother father we pray that you would give them strength lord as they sacrifice so much for their families and for others god pour back into them give them what they need for their journey lord we thank you for the love and care that they extend to their family we lord would you strengthen them would you give them your peace and also god would you provide for their every need for moms today lord that are sad lord maybe because you've called their mom home would you come alongside them and be their comfort and be their strength your word tells us that you're close to the brokenhearted and god would you provide for every need in their lives and for moms today god that are struggling in relationships with their kids father we ask for healing father bring them back into a relationship with you god and in a relationship with each other we know that as we pray you hear us and you answer prayer so god bless every mom today bless them with help bless them with peace bless them with your strength and holy spirit bless them with your presence we thank you for your love you have shown your love to us through moms through their love and through their nurturing and lord in return we say bless them we thank you for them we pray for them today in jesus name amen happy mother's day all the women around
