welcome to our mcelroy metal instructional video showcasing the installation of a through fastened metal panel on a residential roof knots to create a 1-inch tab at the end of the eave trim fold tab 90 degrees as shown set eave trim in place and attach with number 10 - 12 by 1-inch type a pancake head screws fasteners should be spaced two feet on center make sure to place fasteners about one inch to one and 1/2 inches down from the edge of the eat rim flange [Music] apply one-eighth inch by one inch roll tape sealant in a continuous line along the e set the line of tape up one quarter inch to 1/2 inch from the edge of the eave trim only remove the protective paper from the tape area of the panel you are about to install dust and dirt from the jobsite will cause the tape to not it's fear to the closures and panels only apply as much at the tape sealant as you plan to cover with panels in the amount of time you plan to work that day [Music] at the rate end of the roof field modification of an inside closure is required once you have a piece of the inside closure that will fill the panel rivet this location place it on the line of the roll tape sealant [Music] next fit the dovetail of your next full inside closure to the one you modified and place it on the line of sealant take care to not pull the closure as this may stretch it so that it will not line up exactly with your panel profile [Music] repeat the process along your Eve [Music] [Music] once you're inside closures are in place apply another continuous line of 1/8 inch by 1 inch roll tape sealant to the top of the inside closures once again only remove the protective paper from the sealant where you will be installing the current panel [Music] lay your first panel in place and make sure you have the proper amount of panel overhang that is recommended by the installation manual or determined by the installation drawings if provided with your project [Music] using the specified fastener pattern from the installation manual or your installation drawings fasten the roof panel with a specified fastener make sure that you place the fastener either through the tape sealant and inside closure or as close to the uphill edge as you can do not place fasteners below the line of tape enclosures [Music] continue fastening the panel using the specified fasteners and fastener patterns that are listed in the installation manual or on your installation drawings [Music] you [Music] for roof slopes one to twelve to three to twelve roof pitch the use of side lap ceiling is required side lap sealant is installed on the previous panel side lap sealant is 3/32 inch by three-eighths inch roll tape sealant install your next groove panel in the same method as the previous panel [Music] repeat the fastener process as directed by the installation manual or installation drawings [Music] install stitch fasteners into the side laps of the panel ribs see the fastener pattern in the installation manual for installation drawings for your project it will denote what fastener to use and the spacing for the fastener thank you for watching our video more information on McElroy metal products can be found at McElroy metal comm [Music]
