[Music] do [Music] so hey hey hey hey everybody uh i'm sitting on my back porch let me show you what i'm looking at i've got it all set up to show you without having to turn my laptop around what i'm looking at my beautiful blessing my backyard dina lives back there and between her and there's the pool in the pool house and this is my back porch and this is my broken leg sitting in my portable wheelchair so you know i'm always gonna have something that is portable how are you i am actually doing good i got in the shower wrapped my leg and uh in that one of those shower proof you know bags and uh it's something else it doesn't hurt people keep asking does that hurt it it doesn't hurt it hurt before the first surgery it was like morphine drip kind of hurt and then this 38 year old doctor 38 year old doctor i looked him up on the internet once i they said he was my doctor i looked him up and and come to find out that's all he does is ankles and feet and hands and mostly feet and stuff so anyway i uh i uh i'm thankful i thank god for him i told him i said i don't know if you're a man of faith but i thank god for you because all these pens sticking up out of my leg you've seen the pictures probably on facebook all that it put all the bones in place see what happened is at the bottom of my shin it broke in three places and so they had to put these pins everywhere and lock it in you ought to see i mean if you haven't seen it go to facebook but anyway if you're watching on facebook please share and if you're watching on youtube will you subscribe anyway so i'm not in pain because these pins come to find out are holding all those fractured bones in their in their space where they're supposed to be but it's not the final surgery they're just holding them where they should be so the muscles see when you fracture something your muscle thinks okay everybody swell up and let's hold everything together so everything swells up but what you want is the muscles to unswell and go back to their normal you know the normal feeding grounds anyway so everything is unswelling i know the picture the other day looked like it was still swell up but it's unswelling and friday then what they will do is go in there this is an invasive surgery they say that's what he called it where the other one wasn't i got pins in the bones of my leg seems invasive to me but anyway but it doesn't hurt thank you lord and that's how i gauge everything so anyway and i'm not on any pain meds or anything like that i was lord yes i was but they sent me home with tylenol three which is like a baby aspirin when you're hurt this bad but nevertheless i feel good and come friday it comes the invasive surgery where they go in and glue or however they they patch those bones back together and then it comes two weeks of sitting like this and then therapy physical therapy so how are y'all doing let me see if thank you lisa benfield wendy richardson phyllis smith karen blackbird stacy when it was broken all night long you know like it had been the night before um because see i broke it the ambulance took me to memorial hermann they x-rayed it they said you've got a broken leg which i could have told them and then they um send me home with a list i'm trying to remember everything exactly how it happened they sent me home with a list of orthopedic surgeons right well yolanda a friend of ours her niece works for the number one ankle guy in houston i guess he does all the sports people you know athletic people like on the teens he does those kind of people so we thought he must be good come to find out he is so the lord has guided the steps pretty good i think thank you yolanda for recommending your niece to his doctor no cadaver bones so far no no someone i just saw cadaver bones there's no cadaver bones this time around this leg is so tired of carrying the gospel that's a joke because it had what happened the other day had nothing to do with the gospel but it is funny ain't it sometimes when you're getting a pedicure you just look down say ah these feet are so tired of carrying the gospel so let me think okay so i go see this surgeon all right so the wreck happened on i believe it was wednesday i see the doctor on thursday i believe it is i have surgery on friday and from that moment on the pain started leaving um so so i just been sitting around waiting on this friday it's friday but sunday's coming you remember that tony campbell though but i thank you lord for saving my soul sing with me thank you lord for making me home [Music] thank you lord for giving to me thy great salvation [Music] so rich and free and i want to thank colleen kate for taking care of me of course thank god she's retired or she couldn't and dina in the back house she's helped a lot and bubba and phillip and all my friends and shelly and deborah evie hill said it's friday but sunday is coming and tony campolo preached a good sermon about that too yeah you know what your friday may be today but hey sunday always comes you know you're going to get through it this too shall pass i love that scripture and it came to pass it doesn't say and it came to stay but you know i do enjoy this little scooter now it is a fun little thing and i don't want it to stay but i am going to keep it because you never know when i'll break something else i am quite fragile it must be heard how is tony doing who has that thank you for that question uh rob compton you know i uh i think he must be progressing well now i don't bother them because they're really going through it right now you know he had that stroke telling the campolo and so peggy i know she'll call me if she needs me i am going to check up on her though because but i don't want to bother you know they're very very private people well what else y'all thank you cheryl hall we need sunday all this well leo tuscadero says that's good prayers for speedy recovery that'd be nice you know it really would be because the therapy you know how much i hate physical therapy i do not enjoy it at all so um oh by the way i finished my book lived long die laughing you know i've been reading it and it's been spitting them out every day and all of those were done before i broke my leg and i thought about maybe um up in the volume here i thought about doing the next i mean the earliest book but that's all my early early stories and stuff and i might i could be sick oh thank you gosh this goes by so fast hold on a second i'm going to try to slow this down so i can comment on your comments listening from nashville hello rebecca laga how are you what happened orangey wants to know erect yes oren you're not gonna believe this well you know several years ago in fact you can look it up mark google mark lowry motorcycle wreck and i talk about how i used to have a motorcycle well i didn't buy a motorcycle about scooters about three buddy kit just google them you see what they look like buddy kick scooters and uh bought a trailer to carry them in went on a trip to colorado and scooted around there and it was beautiful well everything was going good until the other day i was on shepard drive again and that's because i lived there i'm on that road all the all the time and uh anyway i was driving north on shepard drive two blocks from my home and this old man and i don't say that per derivatively is that a word i i'm not you know like in a bad way i'm old i'm 62 i'm old i'm too old to be on the scooter i'll tell you that but anyway i was going north he crossed i'm going this way he sees his stop sign but he he thinks it's a suggestion and he comes plowing across uh shepherd drive and i immediately had two options because it happened so fast i thought i could hit him because i immediately started doing my brakes but if i knew if i hit the right brake i'm going down so i'm doing both brakes and i'm swerving and i'm coming in and and i thought i can hit him in his driver's door which would mean i'd fly over the top and might hurt him or i can try to go around the front i knew i couldn't get around the back there's no way it was either the door or the front so i go around the front and i look down and he's hitting me and i'm falling over and my leg is evidently at this time being crushed in three places and uh and then i'm on the ground and i go to the ground and i don't hurt myself i mean it's just the leg of course that poor leg when i get to heaven i'm gonna have to apologize to that leg it's already full of dead people i hope they made it through the wreck okay but anyway so i'm lying there and this fellow sweet guy comes jumping out of his car runs over and he was an eyewitness that helped me and helped me off the road and the gentleman who hit me who thought the stop sign was a suggestion he came out and helped me off the road but the other guy had left us and so the gentleman who drove the car was helping me off the road but he was on the wrong side so we fell over together and hit the ground and finally we get to the side of the road and i called dina and tell her what happened and the gentleman who was the uh who jumped out of his car to help us uh called an ambulance and um so so that was interesting but they didn't keep me overnight because um like they did the last time i broke my leg i guess maybe because of covid they just said they took x-rays said it's broken which i already knew and then gave me a list of doctors which i really could have stayed home and and done that you know and because they re x-rayed everything when i got to the main daddy rabbit doctor who did the surgery 38 years old 38. brilliant can you imagine being a parent of that child how proud they must be okay so what are y'all talking about should we sing something else before we go oh by the way um pray for all those people got covered lord have mercy it's hit our world it hadn't hit me hadn't hit colleen but it's landed all around us so y'all try to stay safe this is not a joke for people our age if you're my age or up we are nearing the shore let's ah why won't it be wonderful there [Music] having no burdens to bear joyously singing with heart bells all ringing oh won't it be wonderful there there'll be no more broken bones there no scooters to crash everywhere [Applause] our bones will be immortal so they'll never chordo homeschool with him two weeks it's so hard who i bet i can imagine at this age trying to teach a kid anything much less something that was true like you know algebra i pronounced my way through algebra i'm telling you i carried teachers books and everything and then i thought i want to be an english major so i go to college and i study english until i meet mrs larson my english professor i had to carry her books to get a d so i switched to youth major because i figured if you had an iq of plant life you could get you a youth degree and that's what i got took five years of course i did have a wreck during that time which set me back that was the first time i broke 11 bones it's a story called pivot on good foot it may be on youtube i don't know but it's never been videotaped it's just been audio taped well let's see what else could we talk about y'all thank you lois finstra thank you linda hulsey thank you pam evans 2400 how many are up there now 2 40. i need to sit on the come home the shadows lengthen fast what i can't hear the melody we need to have melodies in here too am i in any pain no you know the truth is and i'm not on any pain pills either ask everybody around here because everybody around here knows everything i do if i'm on the painfield they're going to know it i'm just naturally goofy like this but i love him i love aren't you thankful that jesus is not uh re-elected every four years that he is king of kings and lord of lords and no one will ever vote him off the throne and that the higher we lift him the more people will come running to him and i love him and all to jesus i surrender all to thee i freely give i will ever love and trust him in his presence [Applause] [Music] oh i surrender all save your eyes surrender [Applause] oh i wonder what my neighbors think well i don't care i don't know about tomorrow [Music] that's gonna be too high too i'm gonna get my scooter and i'm gonna scoot out in the yard and just let y'all look knows oh yes he knows what lies ahead we're scooting y'all many things about tomorrow i don't seem to understand everybody but i know who holds tomorrow and i know oh yes yeah yes i know who holds my new fancy scooters they got are pretty cool yes i know who holds my hand who holds my hand all right let me see well y'all still hard henry slaughter passed away oh my lord yes he was 90 right or 90 maybe a little over 90. but my goodness gracious what a keyboard player he was he was the first humdinger i ever heard i was four and he came to the berean baptist church because duke westover knew all those people and knew jake has and talked them into coming i'm sure and sure enough the jake has in the imperials showed up at the berean baptist church when i was four years old and i was singing like jake for weeks after he left well i was doing all of that trying to be like everybody else who ever heard jake has uh they all left him well y'all i guess that's it y'all pray for me friday i don't know yet when the surgery will be oh they're supposed to call and let me know that i took my covet test for that yesterday and i evidently i don't have it because they haven't called they said if that you don't hear from them you don't have it so anyway well i'll check in later i love all let me see how many of y'all are out here wait wait where's my thing where's my mouse hold on y'all oh
