you know you have a firm foundation on the lord jesus christ you ought to give him praise you want to give him christ please be seated this morning it is so good to see everyone today to celebrate king jesus my goodness every time we get together we just get carried up in praise because he's so worthy amen amen it's so good to see you today and you know what this is our been our second week of small groups we have a few pictures just like this for you all to see all the different groups that met together these past few weeks pastor keeps on saying he said josh i want our church filled all the time he said every day of the week every night i want to see people joining together learning growing i've got my small group that i do personally it's on memorizing scripture and i see people here today that are memorizing scripture and it's just so wonderful to have a church that comes together not just for worship services but comes together and enjoys one another's company and that awesome you just don't get to worship with one another but get to know one another and to grow in the lord jesus christ so good to see you all welcome to community family church if it's your first time here to community family church we welcome you we're glad you're here with us and we would love the opportunity to connect with you so just reach in the seat in front of you grab a connection card fill that out and when it comes time for our offering time we'd like for you to take that connection card that you filled out for us and drop it off in one of our offering stands here at the front the back the balcony or if you see one of our friendly staff members or a volunteer you can hand it to one of them can you let our guests know how great we appreciate them being with us today repeat after me everyone say this saturday okay you got it okay so this saturday we're actually going to do an easter outreach it's this saturday at 2 30 we'll be meeting here at our church parking lot be going through some different things we'll be doing but our goal is to invite people to come to our church service on easter sunday easter sunday is april the 4th we have four worship service opportunities and we're going to go out this saturday and invite the community to come out to one of our worship services so if you text the phrase easter outreach to 859-359-3997 that'll let us know that you're planning on attending that easter outreach this is a great opportunity for small groups life groups families people to come together and to do an easter outreach again that's this saturday uh at 2 30. amen well let's go and say our offering decoration faith together as we bring in today's ties offerings and over and above giving we are believing the lord for a creative ideas [Music] in grateful that you are a firm foundation that we can stand on lord all other ground is sinking sand we must place our faith on the lord jesus christ and not be shaken god we're so grateful that we can worship you with our hands clapping our feet dancing lord our mouths shouting your praises but lord we're also so grateful that we can worship you with our tithes and our offerings lord we pray that you would win souls with every single dollar that is given and we give you all the praise and all the glory in jesus name and the church says amen with a smile on your face please stand with me and you may give it this time this is pastor tommy bates i'm here right now in the youth sanctuary the youth are getting ready church will start just about an hour we're getting prepped up for the service tonight and i want to thank you so much for having helped us to pay this building off we are 60 right now and we're getting we want to move a little forward and i need your help and i know that god's going to speak to you to help me before i have to get that smoker out smoked pork and and ribs and chicken oh we're all going to work together we will get this building paid off in jesus name is that praise the lord we have partners that join with us every week and oh does that make me feel good especially last year with the pandemic i wasn't sure we was going to be able to make it or not but we made it and the lord blessed us these are partners that are partnering with us they want to help us build things they want to help me build that new sanctuary they've just got all kinds of they're they're they're joining with me and vision not only here we'll talk more about what we do around the world but let's we're going to welcome these new partners paul from brushnell florida trevor from lebanon illinois bob and nan from lillington north carolina terry and barb from tuscaloosa alabama jesse and lois from circleville ohio christina i don't have an address debbie don't have an address and sarah i don't know who sarah is but she's from independence kentucky but i do know where that is and we've got judy a request needs to be and i want you to listen to this one this is an incredible this is an incredible people you know when they they watch us on the internet this one is from bahrain a country called bahrain it's a muslim country it said instead of receiving easter baskets this year jacob 10 years old our one our our son wants to become a partner and ask his grandma if he could he and his sister laila four years old are living in bahrain a muslim country they watch all the time jacob wants to be filled with the holy ghost on easter and and wants revival to fall in the country of bahrain his dad is a diplomat living on a military base and his dad said you can call the children's name out if you want so we did praise the lord let's give all of our partners a good welcome [Applause] next sunday night at six o'clock p.m is our water baptism if you've not been water baptized you need to follow the footprints of jesus into the water jesus was bought water baptized as an example for us as an open testimony he announced to the world that he was the son of god hallelujah it's your annunciation to this world that you've been identified with the death birth burial of jesus christ and that'll be next sunday night at six o'clock if you can't stay for the whole service that's fine we have the water baptism at the beginning and if you need to get home or you can't see to drive at night our the world in which we live in has changed the clock to where we're going to get more sunlight so you can come to church on sunday night people that can't see to drive at night now get to see at night to drive and we're so thankful they do that for us so thankful so thankful that they make accommodations so people can come to give the evening sacrifice the bible said somebody said well there's no place in the bible to worship the lord at night you know that's we've done it here for years we have out you can't get can't get a seat when you come it's packed and it's because it's the old the way we you know just done it for 68 years or so and the bible said oh bless the lord all ye servants of the lord which stand by night in the house of the lord lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the lord oh bless the lord so that'll be next sunday night at six o'clock i'd like to say one more thing before we open up the scripture today i praise god this is we were speaking with some families and they said the reason why we love it here is because it's such a healthy environment there's very few churches that can have a testimony of being 68 years old and never having a split that's why we've got gray hairs here and people in the nursery that's why there's rocking chairs and high chairs that's why there's great grandpa's great-great-grandma grandpa's grandpa's children babies and we got more babies than you can even imagine that children's church is just booming boom and booming but we thank god because we believe the bible the bible said let the old and the young join together in a dance in praise unto the lord the bible said let the elder teach the younger how to live and how to guide the house there is benefits i told my son eric i said you know it's a shame that you have to live old to learn something eric says that's just the way it is dad i said i'm finding that one out uh by the time you get to where you can feel like you know a little bit it's time to leave this world but we pass on what we know through example and through trials and tests to try to make your life better and easier that's what we want to do but as this house is a healthy house it's one of the it's one of the most giving houses that i've ever seen we're not the richest people in the world god knows that we don't have any multi-millionaires when i went to the bank they said now um what organization sponsors you i said no it's just offerings they said no no i mean there has to be you can't have all this property and build all this by people we've seen what your clientele are good to see y'all clientele uh you don't have any of the big names out there no multi-millionaires and i said well the lord has blessed us and we thank god this is a very giving church and when we told you about the flood in eastern kentucky in the heart of appalachia where our roots many of the roots of this church are from you poured out gifts you brought in cleaning supplies and garbage bags and clothes and we took at least five truckloads down and then you gave money on top of it and over ten thousand five hundred dollars came in for the people down there [Applause] we have connected with several churches but the main church we're connected with is the one that i i preach in often and that's in brethren county kentucky in the city called jackson the pastor's name is gary bellamy he pastors provident pentecostal church samaritan's purse which is founded by franklin graham has come to the provident pentecostal church and made that their headquarters and i want to show you a little video clip that samaritan's purse has made the money that you've given the pastor and some of the men in the church made a trip to lexington to buy used refrigerators in a warehouse because to spend money on one refrigerator you can get five used and help five families that way so we are getting the best we can get out of the offerings that you have sent and the bible said it is a greater blessing to give than it is to receive this is a video clip i want you to see how you have blessed other people [Music] it rained severely for a few days and the water had been coming up steadily but that night it was like ankle deep water in the house we stepped out of the house and we were waist deep this is the first time i've ever been in this pad of water completely destroyed everything lost everything except the dogs in us i didn't even know about you guys really i didn't i didn't know who samaritan's purse was had no idea [Music] you all showed up and i talked to you all yesterday and here you are honestly it's kind of hard for me because i'm not real good on asking for help i've always had to like do it myself and it's kind of overwhelming and good too but it kind of makes me feel bad you know [Music] it's just kind of hard to ask for help but you know sometimes you just have to i was kind of wondering how we were going to get rid of it also but thankfully they've taken so much they've been moving just the stuff that were destroyed by the flood like the furniture and the flooring and insulation had to come out of the walls the walls had to come back down to the studs that will help get us you know closer to being back in there thank you for allowing us to come and help you it's something that god puts on our heart we've got you a new bible you have to hear it we're very thankful for you guys showing up in everything you can to help us anybody i see that's going to need help or that can help or you guys i think might be able to help in any way trust me you're gonna be getting a call from me or them one saying guys somebody needs you like you were there for me so we'll be there for them praise the lord let's give god a praise hallelujah it's a privilege for me today to pull my car in this parking lot you search all of the religions of the world the eastern religions never were benevolent ever ever they've only begun benevolent deeds because of the actions of the united states it makes them look bad the reason why is they taught reincarnation when you you know if you suffer here you're not going to suffer the next time you come around islam has never been one for benevolence they are now because it gives them a bad name when they see red cross and christians coming during tsunamis they do a little now but nothing like the people who bear the name of jesus that's why it's a privilege brothers and sisters to pull my car in this parking lot say i'm numbered with those who believe that jesus is the christ the son of the living god no matter what package it comes in it may come in a baptist package a holiness package a united pentecostal divided pentecostal or a church of god package a catholic or protestant makes no difference as long as jesus is in the package hallelujah and i chapter 16 we're going to read verses 7 through 11. [Music] nevertheless i tell you the truth it's expedient for you that i go away for if i don't go away the comforter will not come unto you but if i depart i will send him unto you and when he has come he will convince reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment of sin because they don't believe who i am of righteousness because i go to my father and you see me no more of judgment because the prince of this world is judged just for a few moments this morning we're dealing with the subject when the holy ghost is come let's pray father we come to you in the name of jesus asking you lord to let this word go forth with much love much compassion and demonstration and power the holy ghost in jesus name let the church say amen you may be seated just for a few moments we're dealing with the subject when the holy ghost has come our text is found in john chapter 16 verses 7 through 11. you see we believe in one god and this one god has revealed himself to the human race through his word the infallible inerrant eternal word of god as god the father god the son god the holy ghost the revelation of his word reveals us the one god he is god the father the progenitor of life every living thing that exists comes from this god he is god the son which is god in christ reconciling this world to himself through jesus god manifests in the flesh the savior of the world he's god the holy spirit which proceedeth out from the father to draw all men to jesus that the world might be saved you see he proceeds out from the father the holy spirit these these lights are up here high in the ceiling but the light comes out of these spotlights that proceeds out from the light bulb it is the holy spirit that proceeds out from the throne of god from the throne of grace you see we believe today in this one god and this one god is the god above us james chapter 1 verse 17 says every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from above from the father of lights in whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning he is called in the old covenant at adonai el shaddai elohim god creator the almighty god he is called jehovah the self-existing god jehovah said can you he is my righteousness jehovah macadesh he is my sanctifier jehovah nesi he is my banner he fights for me and causes me to win he's jehovah rapha he heals me spirit soul and body he is jehovah shamma the ever present god he is jehovah shalom he is my peace he is jehovah roey he is my shepherd he anoints my head with oil he is jehovah he is jehovah jireh he's my provider and he supplies all of my needs according to his riches in glory and the bible said that the god which is above us this el shaddai adonai elohim this jehovah god in isaiah 7 and 14 said therefore the lord himself shall give you a sign behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name emmanuel being interpreted god with us so the god above us became god with us in isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6 the scripture said for unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father the prince of peace and when jesus was taken into the temple to be dedicated and the and the priests looked at him and he saw joseph there in his mind probably are you going to name him joseph jr are you going to name him joseph jr but he said what shall we call this child and joseph said his name shall be called yeshua that is jesus as we know it in english but the first name he was called on this planet on this place called earth was yeshua yeshua demons trembled when that name was mentioned in that temple that day yeshua yeshua hamashiach he is the lord jesus christ and in john chapter 16 jesus is preparing the believers for the revelation of god the spirit they've already experienced the god above us who became the god with us now he begins to prepare them he said it's expedient that i go away it's for your benefit that this earthly manifestation of god god in the flesh be taken away from you because in his flesh there were limitations he could only be in one place at one time there were only a certain amount of people could hear his voice there were only a few that could be touched because he was in one place at one time and in his dialogue with his disciples he had already explained to them even though you see my popularity right now even though you see people giving great accolades to who i am that's going to change there's going to be a shift in the way they see me and the way they treat me there's going to be a shift you see palm sunday had already happened they saw them lay the branches in the street they heard the seed of abraham as they shouted with a loud voice hosanna hosanna hosanna save us only lord you can save us but he said there's going to be a shift they're going to hate me they're going to reject me i am going to be offered up as the supreme and final sacrifice for sin they're going to reject him they're going to mock him they're going to spit upon him and finally he would fulfill the prophecy of isaiah which was written 700 years before his birth that he would be wounded for our transgressions bruised for our iniquities and the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed so when you get to john chapter 15 verse 25 jesus is explaining listen i've talked to you about the father i've showed you the father i'm god manifest in the flesh i am the only begotten son i am him but he said it's going to come to pass that the world might be that the word might be fulfilled which is written in the law and that word is they hated me without a cause he said i've got to get out of here i've got to leave this place 1 000 years before the birth of christ it was prophesied in the prophetic psalms in psalms 35 and 19 these are the words jesus was referring to and the disciples knew them let not them that are my enemies wrongfully to rejoice over me neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause psalm 69 3 and 4 i am weary of my crying my throat is dried my eyes fail while i wait for my god they that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head in psalms 109 and verse 3 they compassed about me they circled about me also with words of hatred and they also came and they fought against me without a cause he said this is what's going to happen i'm going to be hated i'm going to be rejected i'm going to be crucified i'm going to be like a lamb that's led to the slaughter i'm going to be one that's going to be cast away i've got to tell you this then he says but when the comforter is come whom i will send unto you even from the father even the spirit of truth which proceeds from the father he shall testify of me he's going to testify of me he's going to be a witness of me you see today in the courtroom of decision that is in the battleground of your mind in the very regions of the unknown and of uncertainties when you have to make a decision concerning your life and concerning your future and you don't know which direction you go the holy spirit the holy ghost has been sent to testify so you've got to picture in your mind here you are you're in the human race you've got to make decisions about life you've got to make us decisions about the life after death you've got to make decisions on god you've got to make decisions on worship these are things that you must decide god's not going to make you serve him and god's not going to force you to love him he's not going to force you to praise him but he said when the holy ghost has come and your mind is in the courtroom of decision and the uncertainties are rolling around in your mind where did i come from how did i get here what is my purpose what is life who made the trees who made the stars who made these things up he said the holy ghost in your courtroom of decision and you sit in the seat of a judge to make up your mind whether to serve god or whether not to serve him he said the holy ghost is called to the witness stand and when he comes to the witness stand the hallelujah you say holy ghost would you like to testify he said yes i'd like to say something before abraham was there was god he is the one that created all things and by him were all things created and without him there was nothing created he's the god of today tomorrow he's the god of yesterday he is the same yesterday today and forever he is a god that condescended made of himself of no reputation of he is the god that was born of a virgin that was baptized by john that was seen of angels that was preached on to the gentiles he is the one that walked the shores of galilee he is the one that healed the sick he is the one that raised the dead he is the one that sets the captive free up he's the one that gives life to the lifeless he gives joy to those that are in sorrow he is the one and here you sit in the seat of decision in the courtroom of your mind you've got to make a judicial agreement you've got to make a decision all the witness of the world stands up and has nothing to offer but the lust of the eye and the lust of the flesh and the pride of life all the witness of popularity begins to stand up but has nothing but an empty tunnel that you travel through oh the witness of prestige and the witness of everything that's around you and the witness of the atheist and the witness of the humanist ah but there's another one that goes to the stand and says i have come to this earth to tell you about jesus i want you to know that there's no other name given under heaven whereby you must be saved but through and by the name of jesus at that name demons tremble up at that name health is restored at that name your name is written in the lamb's book of life at that name i can take the addiction away from the attic at that name i can give you beauty for ashes at that name i can push suicide out of your life at that name i can give you joy unspeakable and full of glory let me tell you what i did the moment i heard the holy ghost witness i got on my judicial stand i grabbed the gavel in my hand i said case is closed there's no one but jesus who will be my savior he will be my guide is there anybody here that made that same judicial statement is there anyone here that you made up your mind that as for me and my house we will serve the lord oh let me tell you he don't just testify once every day i live he testifies and when we were singing that song it's a grand and a glorious feeling just to be somebody says you can't go by your feelings well that is true but i'm here to tell you you can also feel it i said you can also feel it because these are not drunken as you suppose but there is god the spirit who has come to this world to give us this life that we may have it more abundantly i've got the witness of the spirit i know in whom i have believed and i am persuaded that he's able to keep that that i've committed unto him against that day with the enemy comes like a flood i've got the witness of the spirit that the spirit of the lord will raise up a standard against him oh when sickness comes knocking at my door i got the witness of the spirit that by his stripes i am healed up when the enemy comes to tear me down i've got the witness of the spirit that neither things present nor things to come nor in the present or angels no principality there is nothing that can separate us from the love of god in christ jesus how many have got that witness let me hear a shout in the house [Music] [Laughter] oh glory to god when the holy ghost gets done making a witness in you you believe it i said you believe it and if you don't believe it you need to get him back up on the stand again if you're having doubts in your mind and you're listening to everything else you're listening to this and you're listening to that you're listening the word world's and you're saying it's a better way over here get the holy ghost and say what do you got to say about this he will testify jesus he will testify and the bible said when the comforter is come he's going to begin a work inside of your spirit the first thing he's going to do is he's going to convince you of sin he's going to convince you that that you need to change to be like jesus somebody said well god loves us just the way we are yes he does he loves you in the pig pen but do you think he's gonna wallow in a pig pen with you uh that's not gonna happen he loves you enough to come over and get you and take you out and scrub you clean he wants to get the alcohol out of you once you get the perversion out of you once get the line out of your tongue want to get the worldliness out of your walk and the whirling is out of your talk he wants to make something out of you you see when we built our first house it was a little bitty house and and was trying to get more room so we went we went down another level so it had four levels of six stairs every level and in that house toure had a mirror in every level and uh i'm young i had dark brown hair i had no freckles i had dark olive skin oh my teeth look so white with that skin hallelujah and you know before i'd go to church i'd go downstairs in the lowest level and there was that mirror and i just turn on that one light down there and i look in that mirror because that's the only light there was and it was back you know on the other side and when i looked in that mirror i said boy you got it buddy they didn't know what they missed at simon cannon they should have voted on you you know they didn't you they don't even know what they missed and i look in there i'm just talking to myself and all you vain people act like you don't even know what i'm talking about and i leave that mirror and i go stick six steps higher this time that's where the garage is there's a little bit of natural light and there's a another another light above us and and i look at that when i say oh you look okay bates you're not half bad then i went up six more steps where there was a big big picture window in the living room and it was full of all natural light there was sliding glass doors in the back picture wind in the front and all natural light and i looked i said yeah i can start seeing some flaws now i can start this out yeah it's all there now but when i went six more steps up that's where the bedrooms were and their terrain had these big light bulbs that looked like little volleyballs i never seen lights so big they were so huge i went in that bathroom and i clicked on that light and there was those big light bulbs i looked at myself and went oh no you are a liar i don't believe you one bit it made my nose look like a strawberry it made all the intentions it might make my this thing here look like a neanderthal that voice would say look at you you look like a neanderthal you know that thing going like that and said look at this your nose has to be at least three or four inches long like that you ought to know how that how those thought patterns begin to speak to you i looked at that mirror and i said mirror mirror on the wall i'm not coming back to you at all i'm never going to come back again [Applause] i'm going to go downstairs where i look better you know the mirror was the same i said the mirror was the same it was the light that was the difference so when you get saved when you get really saved i said when you get really saved not not this not this american joined the church stuff not not this walking into the baptismal pool of center and coming out going in a dry center and coming out of wet center no no no no not that one not the one that that says yes yes yes i want to join the jesus club and me and my girlfriend we're going to just join the jesus club and we're going to live together going to still drink her liquor and we're still going to smoke her pot no i'm not talking about that kind i'm talking about the kind where your name is written in the lamb's book of life oh glory [Music] and the bible said when your name's written in the lamb's book of life the first thing he does is take you to the mirror and you look in the mirror and you behold the glory of the lord and you know you're looking at me and you'll say oh hallelujah oh don't look for me to go where i used to go before why don't you talk to yourself in the mirror i don't go there anymore i found a better way oh don't look for me to say the things i used to say before i don't say them anymore i found a better way and you say glory to god oh i'm changing i'm changed i'm changing and you know what it's not long to all at once the lord says you're all right down here we're going up another level we're going to crank up the light a little bit more and then all at once it cranks up the light and it says now you're doing good you got your vocabulary going okay you got some things but there's something about your wardrobe you're going to have to change oh glory there's some things going to have to change you don't need that i'm not going to say it i'll say it on sunday night all right yeah there's some things on your wardrobe going to have to change you can't be down there showing your naked body off at that beach with a string up your backside that's all that's all i'm saying right now hallelujah you're going to have to make some changes put a little more put a little more put a little more more fabric on that stuff okay that's what he's going to say i'm telling you the lord will talk to you he will talk to you there's nobody should have to come to you and say tuck it up push it up pull it down move it over nobody should have to tell you you have the very spirit of god inside of you i shouldn't have to tell you not to cuss i shouldn't have to tell you not to steal i shouldn't have to tell you not to lie i shouldn't have to tell you not to get on facebook and slander your brother and slander your sister there is something that god has sent to this earth it is the third person of the godhead it is the holy ghost from heaven and when he is come he's gonna make me like jesus i'm gonna talk but then after that he'll shine the light says come on you read the bible enter his gates with thanksgiving get that frown off your face he'll say come on come on you gotta have to up your praise level up your praise level buddy quit just sitting around looking like a who down watching everybody else it's about time you put your hand up and the first time you do it why you let that base be loaded over there to red stadium and you let that let that man come up there and grab a hold of that bat eric's going to get me for that expensive mic you let that man hit that bat do you think you're he has come he's going to convince you of sin number two when he has come he's gonna convince you of righteousness he's gonna say hey it's three o'clock in the morning you don't have to have a deacon come and pray for you it's three o'clock in the morning you don't have to worry about all those prayer shawls and prayer all that shofar and stuff just say jesus that's all you got to do that's your righteous entrance into the kingdom of god just say in the name of the lord jesus christ you don't need a priest you don't need a prophet you don't need a pastor you don't need somebody it's three o'clock in the morning you got a hotline to heaven all you have to say is i need you jesus you don't need mary you don't need the saints up you don't need prayer beads you don't need a rosary you don't need nothing but the name of jesus and the holy ghost says i'll fight your battles up i'll cause you to rise up in the name of jesus and the holy spirit when he has come when the holy ghost has come he's going to convince you of judgment he's going to say shake off that condemnation do you think i saved you to kill you do you think i saved you because i didn't want you shake off that condemnation the prince of this world is who judgment is for it's not the will the father that any should perish hallelujah there's been people so many years that's come in my ministry come here at the church and crying and weeping and saying i think of blaspheme the holy ghost no some of them don't say think they say i have i say no you haven't blasphemed the holy ghost they said yeah i have and they would argue about it i said no you haven't yeah i said no you haven't they said but i one time was flowing in the gifts and speaking in other tongues and i went away from god and i got in a deep sin i said somebody that's went to the point of no return has no desire for god they never shed a broken they never shed a tear or have a broken heart as long as you say jesus he don't care how far down in that hog pin you are oh glory brother mark sing that second verse don't warm up to it just let it out right now hallelujah sing that second verse it's got power in it all pain will be your
