Magician REACTS to Eric Chien close-up magic on Asia’s Got Talent 2019

[Music] [Applause] [Music] hey everyone my name is Jason Parker welcome back to this channel about magic just today Erik chin appeared on Asia's Got Talent performing close-up magic in case you didn't know Erik chin is a sorcerer level magician perhaps even along the lines of Shin Lim he was also the winner of 2018 film a huge international magic competition enough talking let's check out his performance [Music] very casual hi there why don't you introduce yourself to us tell us your name and where you're from my name is Eric Chen and I'm from Taipei I think you grew up in the US so what are you gonna do for us today I don't see props there I'll be doing some magic for you guys today oh okay look really disappointed this stage Boni Asia's Got Talent so for the past three years I've been a magic consultant that means I'm always behind the curtains so this is the first year I'm stepping forward I'm trying to be the performer now well I'm not sure about that because he won't film last year but maybe this was filmed at the end of 2018 anyway take it away the stage is yours thank you any guy cuz I do close-up magic I wanna come with you guys perfectly knows that magic is the best [Applause] [Music] wow that was beautiful I did not see that coming [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'll just add right now I've seen a lot of magicians perform coin routines before but his is just like the penultimate it's like what everyone aspires to make the routine looks like look like it's just buttery smooth and every single movement seems perfectly orchestrated some of these type of coin moves are recognized but then other ones are really catching me off guard let's keep going [Applause] [Music] [Applause] then there's a lot of coins you hold out your hand you guys can come closer come closer hold it flat watch it don't move Hey ha ha it's in trade like you look over here this is for you guys wow I have the immediate desire right now to rewind and watch it again because that was completely unexpected okay I don't know if that's the end but let's keep going thank you [Applause] okay yeah that was his routine before we hear what the judges say I'll just give you my thoughts I really expected him to do card magic because he had a routine called ribbon that he used and he won the FISMA competition with the card magic so to me it was a wonderful surprise that he brought a completely new routine and a new act for this competition who had been really easy for him just to use the same one because it's a new show secondly how amazing was that I mean I've seen coin routines as I mentioned but I found several moments where I was just literally shocked and I've been doing magic for a long time so I could only imagine how a regular audience feels it was so beautiful it just made me want to watch more and more of it I can't wait to see him again I mean I think there's no question he's gonna get three yeses and move on I just keep stopping right now to think about it it's got me in like a thinking state where I'm just trying to trace back in my mind to what happened anyway it was just great to see something so unique and beautiful what a beautiful creation so to the point I'm sure everyone's thinking Shen Lim versus Eric chin who's better what do you guys think leave a comment below I hesitate to say one is better than the other because they're both masters at what they do and they have their own unique style granted I guess they're both performing to music in a pretty dramatic way but still it felt different to me but if I was really forced to make a vote between shin Lim and Eric chin I guess I don't know if it's just because of the novelty of this new act but right now I'm leaning I like a little bit towards Eric chin don't hate me don't hate me for saying it I just really likes his performance and I still think shin lim is amazing as well but let's hear what the judges have to say I think he made the right choice by maybe coming out up front your sleight of hand is really beautiful poetic nice job man thank you so much I agree that was impressive thank you so much Jay can I ask you what was the reason that you were behind the scenes and haven't been the frontman thus far there's this thing called fission basically the Olympics for magic and it happens every three years in different countries I attended and I was very fortunate to when close up I guess that gave me the courage to be a performer now Wow let's go shall we yeah all right Anglin it's a yes thank you it's a yes for me and a third yes and a fourth one that makes four yeses a good phrase about -
