Machelle’s Home Tour + Grand Millennial Decor

[Music] hiy Michelle hey come on in thank you for having us today my pleasure I'm glad you want to come again absolutely everything's beautiful I know everybody's going to love it [Music] so this is the famous Michelle Michelle how long have we known each other now oh my gosh I don't know I know met though at rustic bucket yes we did so when you was filming and you was like can I video and you said yes as long as you say House of five yes that's right that's right so I don't know but yeah several years years now so um like she said I'm Michelle house of five several of you have seen me on her channel before but um I've got a little bit of a different style for y'all um this go around so I told Kayla I hope y'all don't boycott me cuz I switch my style up a little bit but um I hope you'll enjoy it um it's just like Kayla always says do what you like that's right you know style your home the way that makes you feel happy and um that's what I did I went through a little um season last year or this year I guess the year's not over yet went through a little season uh you know of Hills and Valleys and I decided you know to dive into decorating like I always do and I discovered that color brings me joy so that's right I went with color I kept it vintage and I hope you guys like it um I like it of course but that doesn't mean you have to but um it might you IDE you are colorful Michelle you are a big you are a big bubbly Sunshine so you just had to display it it only makes sense that I need color that's hopefully it'll just give you some ideas to maybe use some things that you know you already have that you had stored away there we go well we'll go ahead and get started Michelle has just rearranged her house and it looks like a brand new place in here and what did you say this style was called Michelle okay so if you like it and you want to look it up it is called Grand Millennial uh basically it's a mix of Grandma Chic so what you saw at your grandma's house um mixed with modern so um that basically means I hate to say it but they described it this way your old outdated florals uh mixing patterns bringing back the gold um dark furniture um what else oh Wick you can still use the Wicker um as you can see Kayla's got here I still am doing my collection of my vintage clocks you know not get rid of things I did paint that dresser with that is uh the fusion brand paint and that color was called Bayberry I love green so I did paint that cuz that was like a white chippy color um lots of chinoiserie I hope I said that right which is this kind of stuff so this this um very cute that is part of that as well so you can see it out of the Wicker what would you say like 70s maybe or what would you call like what decade yeah uh yeah but some you know those florals and stuff would have been like your 80s okay yeah that's true but yeah there's a mix of I say it's still vintage it's different decade that's right so it's not primitive anymore it's retro exactly it's retro pick whatever you know and I was telling Kayla you know these used to be around a long time ago but I actually got this at Hobby Lobby um so if you're looking if you don't have Grandma's stuff that's right Hobby Lobby has some stuff out as well as TJ Maxx and HomeGoods because again the style has gotten really popular so people that don't have access that's a cute book you haven't read I do too and it's a cute little book um but yeah just mixes of patterns colors different textures so you can see this wall has the gold it has wood it has wicker um and that's a new mirror for anybody that has seen our tour before knows I had that big wooden mirror there with the shelves that everybody loved my neighbor bought it off of me when uh she saw it was for sale and so I swapped to that of course I've still got that fi with uh Treasures from our family so but I did go in in I think you can see it I did go in and add a little wallpaper just peel and stick wallpaper from Amazon it brightened it up so much yeah it brightened it up cuz it was really dark in there and this one does not have a light um and so it just added a little pop I love it cuz I you know I wasn't going to part with all of our Treasures oh no these are these are special Treasures yes yes and of course I SWA those curtains they just used to be like a a sheer um tan but the um he's adorable I love my little squirrel matter of fact I didn't decorate a whole lot for fall this year but I asked my husband I said hey where' you put the fall stuff specifically I'm looking for my gold squirrel yes so your gold squirrel he's adorable I love brass though I've always liked brass and it it kind of comes in phases like at the shows I'll see it one one year and then the next year I don't but I saw a lot lot of brass at vintage picking and stuff this year y'all book Stacks look for books at um the thrift stores take the covers off of them lots of time the spines have really cute colors underneath I love it and then you know I got to give a shout out to Tar absolutely they have some amazing candles right now they smell great and are super cute and they match Gold they match her whole aesthetic now we've been joking about this it is empty I promise there's nobody inside it is that is that where you're going to put Jeff if he starts cutting up we've been joking and saying who wants to claim this yes yes you can put you can put me in there Michelle that way I'll be with you forever I'll be looking over you I love that lamp got it from a thrift store of course put a different shade on it so and then I recently got um that little bumblebee I got an estate sale recently recently in Odenville the guy actually went to Georgia Tech so he had lots of Bumblebee things that's hilarious but I was like oh I want that that is cute goes perfect with your stuff hello and what's his name Michelle that's B I call him Binky say hi Binks he is so cute Michelle is an animal person too and she changed out her light fixture it's so cute I actually got that on Facebook Marketplace you are not going guess how much I paid for that I don't know it looks it looks like it'd be real expensive oh I know I paid $15 for it $15 I had to drive to Helena to get it but I didn't care for $5 no that's a good that awesome I love it and this green picture I absolutely love it is pretty and I got that from my friend um Hannah with we are the good she has a little shop and uh Homewood so cute I think I got that pillow from you Kayla you did it looks familiar for sure I remember it and I love these little collection of clocks Michelle loves her clocks and pocket watches clock and then had to get that little kitty cat statue cuz sort of looks like my Mo yes love it I love all your little Gallery walls and the little bird's nest ones again they're just Hobby Lobby but they look old they do they're very cute everything is so bright and cheer curtains too I love this piece it's always so that's from just Granddaddy's too and we love that piece so cute and that little needle point clock I got up there um at the thrift store for $15 that's adorable I know now I do think Jeff says he has trouble reading it so we're thinking about changing the hands to Black instead of gold that's really cute um oh my goodness I thought all the time that went into that yes it's Ador another one of those little um glass pumpkins so cute and they're 40% off right now at Hobby Lobby and Michelle's never going to get rid of this piece but she knows if she does it's coming to my house we've already discussed it this is my favorite piece of furniture she has I know I love it it's a Bea and it's in the studs on that wall so it you going to take the sheet rock when you take this that's right that's right so cute that's Mal longa Burger Pottery collection and then the dishes up top were uh from his Granddaddy's as well and we actually use the plates and stuff so cute and then you said you have been on a wallpaper and kick I am on a wallpaper kick as you saw in the um china cabinet over there there uh I put wallpaper I have also put wallpaper in here and for anybody that has been um watching these before they probably know I'm a bird lady so I will try and sneak birds in the house anywhere I can see here's more Birds um and so I am loving the ease of changing a look so cute by using the peel and stick wallpaper again Amazon oh girl her is cute oh you little turd I love those I love those are those from a child's tea set or I believe so yeah they look like butter Pats you know I they do look like butter you know I have an obsession with butter PS yes I like that cute little stack and I want to you know always say I'm going to knock Michelle in the head and take something I want these but she got those from you said Ireland Ireland yeah so those are the real deal they're the real deal this is so fun yes I've been buying up old tablecloths um there's one laying over piece over there too and then there's another in the kitchen I'll show you but um love them use old tablecloths napkins place mats anything like that to add the color so cute and you can swipe them out that's right and they're affordable they're affordable it's the kitchen I think maybe the last time Kayla was here I was in the middle of doing my DIY um what do you call that back splash yes and so we got that finished uh just so you know yes for an update it's doing great it's not it's not having any problems with steam or anything so um and where did it come from Amazon Amazon of course you know I love Amazon me too um Amazon so it's been doing great it's held up this whole time we haven't had any problems so um Kayla I found this I don't know very recently look y'all know about a flower frog right that's a flower frog Bo that is so and again that oh again you know I buy things to sell and then I end up keeping it Michelle Michelle she's like me she she she buys stuff but then we end up hoarding it yes but I eventually sell it yes we use it and then we sell it yes so that's right cute and Michelle's cabinet is so pretty and look who would have thought we've wallpapered it and y'all know that used to be filled with all Ironstone and Crocs and now look what a huge difference it is is it's so bright and I did keep some I can't part with all of it but I just the color I just love it and there's awesome I love Michelle is a bird lady look I love my birds are you going to be on the Park Bench when you're 80 feeding them bread that will be me I will I will say Michelle Michelle they've had enough bread I'm just kidding I'm the same way I love bird there's a little bird on here I got this from my friend Sean that I'm always picking with with purple heart cute I love birds I love any animal I love birds and I love the pairs those are so cute yes I don't remember where I got those maybe Irondale Pickers but um this wallpaper is I think I got that from Teemu not Amazon now te but I'm going tell you there's a lot of controversy on using Teo like getting your privacy information so I don't use the app I use the website I don't know if that makes a difference I don't know either and the quality was not as good say I've ordered some stuff from teu like just I mean I you get what you pay for so exactly was a little bit thinner a little bit harder to work with versus the Amazon have high expectations but that is a really pretty yes I mean goodness I mean for the price if it peels off just get some more that's right that's right and is the top different on this no so this is the same but this um did there's some dirt there y'all ignore that um this was like Buffalo check and I just bought new ones to update it oh and and put the wallpaper she wallpapered it I love it oh my goodness I love it girl you just I'm just wallpapering wallpaper well you know we say we got a ball on a budget M that's right on the budget changed out the curtains and the the curtains are actually T and these actually are really got those are nice curtains you got those curtains off to me yes they're nice curtains too feel it are that is cray cray y Teo there's another tablecloth I was telling y'all that um I've been picking up just to throw on things just pretend like it's a throw blanket cute on my little cups and your little coffee bar and poor Jeff he's upset that I make him put his coffee in a canister now and use the lid that's right he says it's noisy they they it's it's too hard my husband same way and I love this piece Yes again as some things I just don't want to get rid of it's so cute oh that's another pretty tablecloth too yep just folded I think that one might be like a dish tail size so cute the lamp I got at earale Pickers the vendor was working his booth that day and he said he'd give me a deal and he sold me that lamp for $115 that's good so I was excited about that you're like I'm a fellow vendor look we got to look we chatting it up these are I'm tore up yeah from T and look at all the fall Lees oh gosh I'm so enjoying this weather oh me too and I love this rug this one is Amazon I did buy one from teu don't do that don't order the rug from don't order the rug it was not good it's rolled up downstairs it was not good I should have known for $19 it was not good it probably cost more to send it back than to keep it exactly so cute this is so cute I love that one for years I don't even remember where I got that and for some reason I've never gotten rid of it well it's pretty it goes perfect I got two of yours I think over there in the mixer oh yes I remember those that's what me and Michelle we just trade stuff yeah and then I redid the tops up there basically I cleared out a lot I had a ton of stuff up there before and I just cleared it out and your cabinets are so bright I love them so cute and now we are in Michelle's master bedroom and where did that didn't that trunk that was somebody's was that was his Grand Daddy's too that is the one old vintage piece I decided to paint it was very scuffed up so I painted that years ago and I love this chair I love that um trustful antique I love that I think it was 80 and then 25% off oh that's good yeah that's good and all Michelle's mirrors I love them I love mirrors too I'm Ling the mirrors a mirror the gold as you can tell mirror's just easy Decor you can just put it up and I still need to find the perfect picture for that oval frame but I loved the frame don't have picture and the colors looks you know it just says I think 5 by seven on it there you go it looks like you just printed off a little thing yes and your bed's so bright I love and so again y'all we can't afford to change out everything so I threw a little throw on here this was from Walmart what this is from Walmart and the back is like from now yes dang just got it from Walmart um but this is my um what's it called Hearth no Magnolia hander magolia I can't remember I'm not going to get rid of good stuff so just changed out end find a pillow to match that one I got for really and then the little pheasant Birds they are actually World Market pillowcases and I put them over top my old throw pillows there you go so I just used them like a throw pillow cover the picture I had I think I had that last time y'all were here but again it reminds me of Ireland so I love it um added some wicker new lamp so cute I love I love the bird yes so cute I hey decorate with what you love that's right I have everybody like everybody picks fun at me cuz I have a thousand busts and they're like why I don't know I just like bust I just like random people's heads floating around you don't know who they are that is so cute though from Walmart dang I mean I love Walmart don't get me wrong but my Walmart and I liked how that one was a pattern but it's not super bright and my Walmart just doesn't have a ton of Decor though and Michelle has inspired me cuz look she's went wallpaper crazy but I have wanted to go I wanted to wallpaper some stuff in my house and I'm scared to do it but Michelle said it's not that hard it so easy again it's just peeling stick it's not your old kind of wallpaper where you have to have that paste and all that water and mess well Michelle is going to just come do it for me it's very easy if I start to have a panic attack she's just going to come help me yes and all her pretty Stu and not a one of those pictures are old they're meant to look old they're reproductions and they were from at home and TJ Maxx and Kirkland's the mirrors are old the mirrors look like or yeah they are home interior you know all that kind of stuff but the pictures were not love it it's so bright in here you can just sit and take a bath and just enjoy think I would but somehow never find the time I love that picture that's pretty that one I got at H an estate sale so I'm not sure if it's old or not and I love this thing right here so cute like a medicine cabin some things you just don't part with they're so sweet and we are in Michelle's hallway about to go into my favorite room in her house it's just so cute it's actually my favorite right now too I just love the color scheme in here it's so sweet and this was your son's room yes well many when we first moved here it was our daughter Lauren it was her room then her and John switched and it was John's room and now he's downstairs and he has his bachelor pad down there yes he does this desk was in my booth and I feel like I remember I don't know why I wasn't selling but I thought you know what it's coming home and I love it that's his um Granny's chair from her house and then she also cross stitched that that bird she knew you were coming she knew you were coming one day yeah so and then uh this quilt and that hat I was telling you those are from a friend of mine's mother's estate sale so those are kind of special I love that and I love the hat I was just telling Michelle I'm obsessed with hats for whatever reason I just go crazy and like if I like something I buy 50 of and then I'm like then two months later I'm like I don't even like this anymore and I'm stuck with 60 hats well that's I've done that before it happens but I love her hats I think they're that little Halloween girl last year and I love her she is she looks like sea little sweet with her little brown hair I love it you know what it kind of does does it yes that's the childhood Sean yeah that was his dad's old radio and if you don't know who we're talking about sea is a sweetheart she's one of Michelle's friends that I met through Michelle and she also does the booth business yes she does and she is so quiet but she's so funny that's his little addition to our Decor all of the I love it European mounts uh he got I love it penny has tons she's like do you think people are going to care I have deer heads everywhere I'm like no it just Blends well I'm going tell you he has a a full mounted one as well and I said he had to take that thing to work that thing scares me hanging on the wall I love it what is this Michelle it okay I knew the name of it till you ask me um it was for counting something about these are tens or these are tens anyway they used to use them for adding it's not like a child's math aboc but it's similar to that but you count by tens and hundreds and stuff neat I love that we even got the gun cabinet decorated well yeah of course because the gun cabinet it has to be here cuz those are all Jeff's Family like old old rifles we don't hunt with those yes um oh we have we have guns too we have but I don't have anything pretty to put them in but I want to get a pretty something to put in Cory's man cave oh yeah I don't know why I have become obsessed with these architectural pictures again and you like them that's right I don't even know where these places are but you go look you like I said you're going to have you're going to have 50 of them I love them I don't know why they're very cute and I hate always having to decorate around this darn girl we're so thankful for that thermostat that's right that's right and look even Michelle's bathroom is decorated up now I do want to show y'all a little trick while we're in here we normally don't show this room but Kayla zoom over to the curtain yes okay we all know that shower curtains are not very pretty that is two curtain panels now I will tell you there's a little trick that is hilarious those curtain panels had the option to do a rod pocket or the tabs okay so I use the rod pocket on the rod and then the tabs on the back let me squeeze through to hang your other one yes I put the hook so smart so you still have your liner but you have better curtains that is the shower curtains just are not very cute that is smart and these used to hang in our living room many moons ago so well and it fits perfect and it fit perfect in here so I love it anyway Michelle you just you just smart girl I mean I try you this was John's room then Lauren's room F say I remember Lauren our first home tour her she cleaned her room really good she did she said cuz she wanted you to video her and we had her style yes and her she had her Michael Jordan shoes and everything displayed they were all so cute it was the perfect little te yes of course you know we all love us a rack so um just styled it different and show them what you do with this hat cuz I think people will so the hat in the other room is obviously an old vintage hat this hat was $5 from T and I have always loved these little handkerchiefs and there's really nothing to do with them that's right ex just yes I know I never know so I just kind of you know like a little napkin um and theyve been getting the old brooches and I just pin it on there I mean real Hightech there with a safety pin and I've been wearing them I mean they're cute let's see I don't know if my hair will do good today you look adorable but you can swipe it out I've worn it with navy with a little um it was like a yellow floral broch on there super cute anyway get you a $5 hat if you can't find a vintage one um again just grandma gave us this I don't know where she had gotten it from I know she used to make baskets that might be one she made but it might not so anyway I just swwa that out I finally got me a full length mirror cuz the girls took both of theirs with them love it and I love that lamp that is pretty is that old or a new one no it is actually new from at home very cute I love it but again you know they're making stuff to look old yeah they are and then that little table is from trust antiques from some vendor friends of mine super cute and I love this little topper yes I've had that for a good long while and I bought that I think I'm pretty sure I bought that at um Shades Mountain mertile I love the I love it when they have like the Mercury liar potato yes I love that of course there's another bird well that's okay you love them and if you love them you just put them out again just mix your Fabrics as the rule kind of is as long as the colors yeah kind of go um you can mix up your Fabrics you can even add a plaid if you wanted to but um I loved these sweet little uh pillow cases that were in order I got those at a church sale last weekend I think was Sean I have several that my grandmother did and they're so and I got this at an estate sale on half price day it was $8 which meant I got it for $4 that's awesome so and I love your chair the Cur I dug out of the Cedar Chest I had them already um see it pays to be a hoarder some sometimes yes it does then you'll have to buy new stuff that's right that little planter I just got at an estate sale my little glass flower I got the thrift I won this out of auction and leaves this cap this dresser I love it it's beautiful um and then of course my gallery wall there's a couple things on there I think from you that one is for sure um so cute and then I just bought that little double decker gold one and those aren't real pictures they it's what comes in the frame well look we would have never noticed we it says 4 by6 down there you go look so I got to get some pictures for that you wouldn't have never known I know I just be hiding stuff in my home tour and if you haven't been on the tour before this was the first if I understand correctly the first wac home I love that um so I I thought that was worthy of putting up there absolutely and I love your little s your little wicker chest yes I got this at the outdoor sale at the rusty Pearl before they close that made me sad I know I'm just depressed about that Lots the intent of This was um I had seen where you do like a bed in a basket for your guest put clean towels and stuff in there but um we don't get a lot of overnight guests but um so I just store blankets in there there you go and I do come in here and watch this TV so I'll just plop on the bed and pull a blanket out there you go and well is so cute and I love that chair I've had that chair for ages matter of fact I actually took it to Vintage Market Days one year to sell and it didn't s so I brought back time that's there you go I I rescue stuff for my sales all the time her room before as well love it well Michelle your home as always is gorgeous and thank you for letting us come we're so appreciative well I mean you're welcome here anytime like I said I'm always changing something up my kids laugh at me but um I just thought uh the viewers might like it they might not like it but it's always good to get ideas that's right well and you do like we always say Do What You Love do what you love and I can say this is definitely Michelle es cuz she's like I said she's just a big bubbly it does fit my personality she just a big bubbly funny and cheerful and uh you know I told Kayla you know I said at the beginning I've had a little season that just wasn't very fun and it happens to everybody and you just got do what makes you happy and um I do still have two booths at um trustful antiques here in Trussville rooms 110 and 112 so y'all can always shop there um the first Booth is still my uh primitive um style that I had here in the house before so you can still get your Treasures there and then my second Booth um has always been um a boho type booth and mid-century modern and uh I let Kayla have a sneak peek but but downstairs in my bonus room is all new inventory so the she's got she's got a whole bunch of fun stuff the second Booth is going to be switching over to Grand Millennial because it is very popular right now and again you know just go with the flow do whatever you want and do whatever makes you happy so it doesn't have to look like Pinterest it doesn't have to look like a magazine that's right that's that we all get caught up in keeping up with the Joneses as they say and it is just I'm the same way I'm like why is my house not looking like these girls right and it is money here money there in small amounts but like we're not changing out our furniture and our expensive beding and things like that you can do it um you know on a budget if that's you need to do and you know again go raid your grandma's house or your auntie or they might have some stuff they don't want anymore and you can use it so put away in the basement yes that's right I appreciate y'all coming back back and seeing me and um welcome me into your home with Kayla she does such a great job with the videos and encouraging everybody and just um you know spreading the word and we just like to keep it happy and real and let folks know that sometimes life isn't great that's right but we try to bring some laughter to you I appreciate y'all coming in well we love you Michelle and we hope you're going to have us back for Christmas M yes I'm doing a little bit of a different Christmas Vibe this year too figure so um I've got it up here in my brain I just got to get it out how I want it so that's right and we just need to hire about 10 young men to come move everything for us is that the truth CU it's hard work it's hard work well we love you Michelle and
