LUXURY cabin on a short-haul flight: British Airways Business Class vs Economy battle

[Music] [Music] hello and welcome to heathrow terminal 5 where today we're going to be reviewing two cabins in a very exciting video because we're going to be flying a big long-haul plane on a short haul route we're going to be flying a british airway 787 dreamliner to athens greece i'm going to be flying in business class in europe with a bed it's gonna be really interesting to see what the service is like on the short route and john i'm gonna be flying economy but there is a premium economy cabin available as well so i don't know what's gonna happen someone might be sneaking in um let's go see what this experience is like [Music] wow it feels really good to be back in heathrow today i'm now heading up to the first win because i've got british airways gold status and although business class get priority security anyway because of my ba gold i can use the first wing which is just here it looks super quiet there today so i don't think i'm going to be queueing much hello good morning hi how are you i am pretty great thank you there you go thank you just checked in on economy very small cube but took forever took about 20 minutes uh to do something like six passengers so i don't know why is it taking so long i think it's because of all the new procedures like who can travel where and if you if you're going to athens like we are you need a qr code so they were checking all this before quite slow but still fun now off to security thanks so much the check-in process that the counters behind me was super easy no queue got straight in there and now i'm going to head through the private security lane to the lounge i don't know if you can hear this but they've got some real funky music playing hey look big big speaker never noticed this before cheeky british airways bow speaker with [Music] tunes so things are a little bit different in the gallery's first lounge at the moment you order all your food using a qr code to your table and it gets delivered directly to you so you don't move around you can stay in your seat and everything is kept a little bit more covered safe and secure so we're going to try this out now [Music] didn't even get a chance to read my magazine and already my coffee has arrived pretty fast time to take this baby off so i can eat and drink [Music] enjoy thank you very much and literally seconds later a lovely looking bowl of granola with all the toppings i asked for all round excellent experience going down now together trying to sea gates my economy ground experience was pretty slow it took about 20 minutes to go through check-in then another 20 minutes through security uh not fast but i'm here and look at who it's right next to me nikki doing selfies if your flight is departing from b or c gates please board the next available train from either platform so despite flying economy i have the last row and because of the new boarding changes i'm going to be the first to board bye nicky i think i like this boarding by row especially because i'm playing economy so often i'm the first one to board and look it's all very quiet so here's my long-haul seat just flying to athens it feels kind of weird but i like it hi how are you very well yourself i'm alright thank you thank you cheers thank you so straight on board that was easy and first impressions really good this is a very nice and spacious seat for a journey to athens look at this taking off now this brilliant shower is dreamliner in economy clubs [Music] so here is the seat on the boeing 787 dreamliner it's uh so far great impression clean tidy and feels quite spacious so let's look around and see some of the features of this seat so we have a table tray table opens up double opens up nice and firm nice and clean in flight entertainment screen i'm not sure i was expecting this to be turned on on this flight actually looks like we've got some movies wow it's all there armrests are very comfortable in fact sitting in the upright position in this seat does feel great but what i think i need to do is stretch out and see what this feels like as a bed [Music] there we go we're right down to the bottom now and this bed is fully flat actually quite nice padding it's very comfortable even if this was a night flight i think i would enjoy a nice sleep on here but actually as it is now for a short flight i don't think i'd even make it into a bed but for a little lay down it's perfect all in all although british airways old club world seat doesn't get the best reputation at the moment i actually think it's really smart and comfortable and for a short flight like this particularly amazing [Music] and welcome to british hours of dreamliner and economy class as you can see here i don't have any neighbors which is really cool and even if i had neighbors i think this seat is so much larger and more spacious than a smaller aircraft would have been so it's already a big plus to be in the trip liner this screen feels a bit old and a bit clunky but it still works as a nice touch screen it's quite slow but i think this is probably the best you can possibly get pretty spacious to be honest so overall really cool let's check out the table i think it's big enough don't need it much for three hour flight [Music] [Music] this crisps biscuits then a very nice bottle of water all free which is a big plus [Music] not quite not quite the exciting pop but still okay so first impressions this is pretty good there's a hummus and chickpea salad and broccoli which looks delicious a nice decent sized chicken caesar sandwich bottle of harrogate spa water and a dough and co chocolate bake i'm starving so i'm gonna dig in and heat this up all in all lunch was very delicious minimum contact between the crew and me which is a little bit more covered safe the sandwich was very nice about as premium as you would get for a sandwich and a lovely hummus starter chocolate dessert it really was the perfect meal so sitting in my seat of the cabin of the 787 and a friend has come to say hello and his name is max and here he is hello and max has just told me in fact you tell me how have you ended up sitting in this cabin oh through your avios points your advice it's the only reason i'm here so much as a points guy reader learned how to collect air miles got a ba credit card and use the points to sit in this beautiful seat in this cabin three hour flight to office good job [Music] i think it's time now for the crowbar challenge [Music] that was pretty fast [Music] and here i have it tears [Music] i don't think she even saw the call girl she was just walking past and asked me if i wanted something so i've ordered there's no ice but that's fine john is going to have to live without it he'll be happy anyway i guess i'll just turn the button off myself or just leave it on see what happens still [Music] on [Music] it wouldn't be a fly without a little bloody mary now no you can't get them here try it we're sure to be interrupting our high life entertainment to share with you a short video it's a rock vodka partnership called flying stars how is it do you know what this economy class is even better than if i was in business class on this flight normally if this wasn't a 787 so i'm actually like it's a really comfy product even if i was on a long-haul flight i think i'd be happy here so you must be really happy
