LOUISIANA Public Land Layout Hunting for Canvasbacks (Gary got a BAND!)

[Music] what's up y'all we back with another one i'm here with my buddy brandon i'm headed down to meet three more guys right now we're going on a duck hunt rolling five deep it's actually another diver hunt we had a real good front come through but i don't trust it i don't think that we got much of a migration that's kind of been the trend over the past few years no migration i don't get it so we're going after the divers again we got a sure shot on those wait we've been steady on them so wish us luck [Laughter] we got all day fool yeah i know we got all day what time we're running four deep today it was supposed to be five but somebody bailed out you're gonna miss out you know you know if you know you know you can drop that right there i just move it whenever i wrap up with this yeah we hunting out of uh little boats today out in a lily patch in a wide open water it's awesome pretty much just canvas backs and doers today coming out here to shoot four birds each 16 birds there's four of us so yeah i'm excited we're just waiting for the sun to come up now getting brushed up so the way that we orchestrating this this morning is gary's actually gonna stay in the boat right over there he's probably gonna kill his two dogeries like right at daylight just like we will and he'll come swing by pick up whatever birds we got and whoever limits out first is gonna swap baguery that way he can come here to shoot his canvas back because the canvas backs ain't going where he's at so yeah that way that way somebody's out on the boat the reason we're doing it like this is because like we're all blind in right now like we got brush all around us like we'd have to keep getting out in and out like over and over again in order to go get our birds but instead he's gonna have the boat to be able to go get whatever it is that we need so it's gonna work out good [Music] good job now you need to figure out what that is if it's a model dog or a mallard because it could definitely be a drake mallet hey nate just shot either a green head or a model duck you just shut that out something yeah we couldn't tell what it was either green head or mother duck come in [Music] i heard it yeah i just called it in my mouth dude is it dead yeah it's dead in the decoys yeah come uh come swing and pick this thing up real quick if you don't mind we don't know if it's a model though if you blind up then that's cool but i'm coming it's a green head green head boy well i have to say i didn't think that the first bird would kill this morning would be a green head but hey it'll make the strap look good you know congratulations nate yeah i might throw that on a dead model see that's nathan a different nathan and he's actually got a youtube channel himself it's called know brandon had never shot a green head before it was like right in front of him you could have rolled it it's all good we might have another opportunity like i said remember i said this morning i that was the hidden red that was that's what that was they came in look at the neck on that thing that's a big can that's cain's gonna whip right in here all right yeah just shoot the cans just be patient wait wait all right kill him i got mine but they're still alive that one on the left is mine for sure got two of them the one you picked up on the left is mine the one you picked up on the right is brandon's and i think that would be his first can the one on the right was brandon yeah yeah i gotta give you that one first stud look at this i know it's beautiful shoot that bird all right good job brandon that was all brandon right there that was that was the last shot that was brandon that's your cans buddy sure you ought to send brandon over there now hey brandon can shoot his dogery is about to work we don't have a can i don't know i mean studs this is awesome i don't know which one was pretty the cans flying over the top of me i got to sit down this kayak i'm gonna fall over in this thing me too bro [Music] you just got off of work and you bout to go back dude i drank a monster and i'm like tweaking right now that's crazy this is a haunt still that bro we're gonna banked right there it was awesome bro yo the things came from the lake entire decoy spread didn't think about it i know second guess nothing what is that four-man limit of drinking you know four-man a band dude drake mallard all drake cans abandoned though gary got his limit on canvas backs so we got brandon back in the blind he got one more degree to shoot he actually shot a dogery whenever he was over there so he's got one more dogery to shoot i think nathan what you got two dogari i got two duggar to shoot i got one more headshot one more redhead did gary get his two dog right yes yeah oh so he's done done he's pretty much done done yeah you know he got a ring there yeah he got a ring neck so i mean yeah that we thought it might have been a redhead but it was a ring that can so yeah he's a really he's got five berries he only needs one more bird so he's just gonna sit over there in the boat um and we're gonna wait it out cool look at that flag behind us right over your shoulder these cans yeah we're gonna watch this let me show y'all i'm gonna show y'all what these canvas bags are doing this is crazy these cans are doing it right they're gonna work right in lord have mercy they still might even come back dude dude this is crazy dude that's oh that's some dogeries right there all right we gotta shoot these hey i got one got one good whew did a little bit of missing but finally got a couple of them on the ground where'd that third one come from third one what's third one it's three oh hey well all right three right now all right so whenever they came in one two three there's three three right now well maybe brandon got himself i know i hit one yeah all right all right so we all three got one hey canvas back's working dogery's finally working let's go hey that thing flared up he started acting like a gray duck that's why i fold it up yeah yeah he was backpedaling when i shot it hey i can hit him like that so who's this one you shot that one over there yeah he was up over here throw that thing hey bro bro what kind of throw is that you're like a mitch trubisky throw it out what you think about this hunt brandon a lot better than the last one he's limited out pretty much he's got five birds he's got a he's got a red head so i got four birds i got you got full bear yeah you got a mallard i got i got three so i just need one more once i get my degree i'm good that's the value of like finding something hunting low profile like this and out in the open getting away from the blonde that's what this is that's why nobody else in here is really killing anything oh my god look at this one identify this bird right here [Music] all right let's kill a bird [Music] come on oh all right don't own dogs see if something else yeah you hit it you definitely hit it it was the the rear end was swaying on it sometimes man they got bulletproof vests though you know good shot hit him again all right now i'm gonna shoot the dang decoy shoot that thing so you finish them off my boy all right is it a hand or is it drake it's a drug it's a drake no nice boys that was an absolute epic hunt that was crazy epic hunt man bro that's an epic hunt gary this is crazy this is amazing [Music] dude i just love i love how we are bro like how we just do stuff different than everybody else everybody like this dude the dude just pulled up over here and killed absolutely it didn't kill anything we got like 19 ducks in this boat and they're not hunting for it's right over there it's just that the birds but that's okay i know i don't care we came here with the objective to kill what we killed eight canvas bags and eight that's what we came to kill eight cams back eight degrees we ended up with a a mallard as a bonus bird a ring neck and a red head and a freaking band what an awesome day to be a duck hunter bro bro i'm glad i'm glad i got friends like i do man because like a lot of people just don't want to do this like sitting in a p-rug in a little tiny lily patch in the middle of open water i don't think i've ever seen canvas bags decoy like they did today i never was this morning i thought that was a model though i didn't i said the same thing i said that's either a mother duck or mallory i heard that and i was like that's a green head we looked down we was like well somebody killed a green head yeah i said uh dude i heard i was like all right i looked at my phone quick i was like shooting like shooting like let's go let's go i know i know the gopro didn't the gopro probably didn't pick it up because it was so early but it was legal it was 100 legal [ __ ] you know it was like five minutes after shooting like i was scared yeah i saw it before [Music] it was an epic hunt look at this eight drake canvas backs a band a money bird some doge a ring neck redhead a little mixed bag a little bit of everything the tactic of sitting in the small lily patch getting down real low worked out great again today the canvas back didn't even think twice they were coming in like 50 at a time it was awesome best hunt of the year for sure what you say it might be the best one of my life i know kind of bad man look hey mallards don't really migrate down here inside louisiana like they used to so anytime we could shoot a mallard inside louisiana it's an awesome bonus bird canvas backs are awesome everybody loves cams bags man if the grey
