OPENING DAY TURKEY! This One Was Special

man what a hunt that means a lot to me man my dad too ricky's been battling a really tough disease man cancer has took a lot of my great friends took my mama and so uh he went hmm look at him don't bring it back home paw paw's old ride michael's little ride i'm telling you pretty pumped christie drove it she never went over 51 the whole way no way so this thing this thing like driving up like man this thing don't feel like super safe like you said imagine this when i was 16 didn't have no power steering had drum brakes that's right [ __ ] and the manual shift now it's you know automatically take it to panama city shoot i was happy i'll i'm gone son oh no what there's a heavy machinery operator turning over there what's happening that's look nice i've never seen the headphones no i'm not since you get fixed you remember it sitting over there i remember i thought i was going to crush it was that a 63 yeah yeah they put all that that bit of that this is original what time turkey's going god we'll need to be where we're going to go probably it's at least by 7 o'clock 7 20. i'm trying to figure it out the turkey's been gobbling in alabama we've been meeting around six georgia time we need to be the turkey should be gobbling around 7 20. well we need to be over there around 7 15. at least what's our plan and we're going we're going to go over and hunt back whatever you want to do whatever you didn't go this morning listen no oh it's going green i didn't i ain't listening i don't care yeah we could we can do one good sign oh the other afternoon i walked on both places both sides you did i didn't i didn't do no walking holy i i went through and i didn't want to go in back in you know to the timber well i figured there may be roosters i rode always too and i walked walked the food plots and i've seen a lot of people what's up i'd say yeah let's start let's start over there and then then we'll hunt our way back if we need to let's walk down to the food plot there's one right in here and there's nothing over here let's get both of them trying to decide which one we want to go this one's down about that pond let's go get on this one and that that one's going to come back his ways they'll come this way they've been using i've seen fresh scratching just natural scratching on down he gobbled but i couldn't hear it as good he's a decent weighs he goes and goes to my region it's back off in the bottom that's where they always are but this one's here i think there's one or two right in here there's one pretty i thought closer if you hit him and i couldn't i just laying back they found they kept breaking and wanting to come and that's good bad hey that was the ones that gobbled remember i said i think they're right in here and they they just was right we just worked our butt off but hey ricky ponder got him that's all about it better go to him get our hands on it no it's a big old long beard giant giant long beard look gun it works hey it's shot two times these two dead turkeys did you remember hitting rodney cam yeah that's really really good you've seen a bunch of bushes but i mean it's a little front but here no it's 100 a double beer take a little look at the pond his hand's still shining all right i freaking fall out i've known ricky a long time actually i met ricky through a couple other mutual buddies and my dad now we fell in love with him and his family oh skeeter cotton joey and all of them we made music hey like play blue blue grass barbed wire ben i ain't gonna try to make cry try not make myself cry but dang last few years old ricky boy i tell you what he's been too he's been had the devil but he's a tough is a lighter stump son than been fighting cancer and everything else and we got him in remission or he got himself intermission and good lord i tell you right ricky he's a commercial truck driver he can drive anything caterpillar and bulldozers excavators and i got my old tractor truck we called upon her to the rescue booger bottom tow and i said hey can you drive this truck and so he moved my caterpillar over and i said man let me pay you something of course friends you're not friends or they won't let you give you a dime you ain't paying me nothing come on ricky let me pay you something i said your times were something and ricky said he said man i'm just glad to be alive over here sunshine everybody got me choked up when he said that and i was like man we hauled that old truck and tracked her across the mountain and i told daddy i said you know what ricky let me pay him nothing i said i bet that redneck would let us take him turkey hunting boys i'll be the head of booger bottom transport now we've got the ceo of booger bottle transporter if bp over there he don't like to be on camera he's he's wanted he's got women all over the country after him see look at that that's a big old old turkey too appreciate it boys yes sir buddy here's what it is god bless you man thank you ricky there is a 100 guarantee that turkey whooped my butt last year i promise you i looked over and he was flipping and flopping i was like i don't know if that turkey gonna come up here well it worked it worked i'm gonna tell you right now son pull all the tricks off it's like flipping that old wacky rig under the dock sometimes you got to wiggle it just right that was awesome though man and these old booger bomb you said it earlier you said these i mean you got to earn them around here it just don't happen easy and ain't no doubt these are the same two turkeys we got on earlier today and we didn't get too anxious and uh matter of fact salsa called and said hey got a little breakfast and i said you know what they ain't going nowhere they're gonna be breeding and scratching all day we'll go back and eat come right back in there back gave up though we didn't but you know what because we can't shut up and tell in stores me and ponder and dad started telling old stories of the past and and cohen i produced i heard he said i heard a hen and and and right when he said that i heard this the back end up and i was like man was that or was it not and i was sitting there debating what 30 seconds pass i called and sure enough oh god well there was a bunch of hens and look them hands come up and i kept i couldn't see but to one hand but i could hear them talking a little bit but finally they broke when we got up there and got the fight and he said like a little league football team well you did i cannot believe they didn't scratch and look them turkeys we were we were right there look that's where we were set up just through that pine ticket them turkeys ain't moved 200 yards you say where you think they're going dennis i don't think they're going nowhere they hadn't they i don't think they've been nowhere i think them turkey's been a 200 yards all day wait hold on he might have been to that edge right there that's it if i tell you one thing this one ain't going well but to put the crystal all right they're gonna meet mr chris that's a good holy smokes there you go they got a rope on fish you're working well when you do like that either people think that what is the worst hurricane on earth they're like that's pretty amazing man what a hunt that means a lot to me man my dad too 32 years my dad and i hadn't missed opening day and normally it's me and dad or my wife or salsa mason meyer mccoy i got a bunch of youngins but uh so many times just me and dad but ricky's been battling a really tough disease man cancer has took a lot of my great friends took my mama and so uh he went yeah i seen him when he folded up see him get one man it means a whole lot golly you know what michael if that turkey went to flop and never been on that well he did he was there for a little while but but he didn't flop when he first shot him no that me one time you know when you said this morning how many you think you killed michael you're my nomad so that's not enough not enough that is that that that right there son it's just awesome let me get back over here to booger to the homestead i had him uh like this right here
