Local Malaysian Feast! - Asking Malay Taxi Drivers Where to Eat in Kuala Lumpur

hmm all right let's try it oh sheesh I use my left hand all wrong I am not good at this yet best ever for review show has become world-renowned for innovating the full review game like that time I had a drinking culture exchange and taught Cambodian villagers out a shotgun a beer champion for that time I reviewed jollibee in a bee suit on the back of a motorbike hmmm you wanna find gonna find it's review is so innovative that it didn't even include any actual food this videos going viral at least 2 million views okay well not every idea has worked out perfectly but this time I have a real winner how's your road rage do you ever get really angry when you're driving everyone wants to try local food but they don't want other tourists swarming the same area ruining their local experience so today I recruited two lively and talkative taxi driver how often do you have a big camera in your back seat and then you'd make a show about foods the first time oh this is the first time yes Oh in an effort to hunt down the most localist local food these guys will show me where it's at let's get started good morning thank you for agreeing to my weird idea almost all my ideas fail so let's see what happens with this one the foodie mission in Kuala Lumpur continues and today we woke up bright and early in search of a filling breakfast today you're taking me out for breakfast what's your normal spot your kind of usual food for breakfast normally formally they like to eat and I see the mock coconut rice and that's like Malaysian food street AI ahyes Malaysia etc our first guys will be met a local driver who's been hitting these streets day in and day out the place we're going now come on can borrow is that a place you go to usually I know many quite shameless and I see tomorrow is it hard to talk and drive at the same time see what lingo let's do this manche breakfast spot of choice nasi lemak guangzhou starting out as a humble food cart this place is killing it 40 years later as evidenced by the long line of hungry patrons wow so look how popular this place is there are a ton of people in mind here do you think they're gonna be cool with the camera I don't yeah Oh many people are friendly friendly people all right I believe you 100% that is my experience so far we've just rocked up here at the local malay restaurant there's a huge line of people you just pull out whatever food you want me she could squeeze prawn everything squid I like the idea of squid for breakfast let's do this and now we wait how are they going to lift up that rice people they put a bundle leaf like vanilla flavor nasi lemak is a fragrant rice cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaf this is an absolute staple in Malaysia I can smell it already the rice is really fragrant Wow look at this line this was coconut some but the base nasi lemak includes a heaping scoop of fluffy coconut rice a hot chili paste called sambal a hard-boiled egg some fried anchovies and cucumbers this comes in at three ringgit from there you can pile on other sides like squid chicken or beef but you have to pay more monies for those Oh be flung okay I'll take some beef long sweet and it's great okay oh there we go she's talking up that we're coming today will be getting squid fried cow long and curried beef time to eat Wow look at that we got our food let's go find a place to sit is that weird eating with a camera here is that weird yes yeah I'm sorry no problem I think you're doing a great job okay I'm used to it by now here we have our beautiful dish which are some cow along [Music] hmm that's some pretty good column I love the texture really chewy so you get like a little chili so you this makes a little bit of everything yeah so coconut rice some eggs some chili we'll put some squid on there and try it all in one big pipe oh right is no standing super fluffy you know not sticky at all very aromatic you know and a lot of coconut flavor if you can believe it just mixing it up meat that yeah and eat it all together mmm I like it there's no rigid rules the anchovy it's been deep-fried it's super crunchy and we're gonna mix that with some of the rice and some other things it'll give it some saltiness and some texture I get some crunchiness right I was awesome oh my god that is spicy though it's some chili in there it's a coconut rice I'm gonna get wild and put it anchovy on there oh that's a pretty good combo right are you proud of me yeah you though it's all about that rice it's so delicate it's fluffy and has that radiant coconut flavor in there usually for breakfast I have Cheerios have you heard of Cheerios yeah maybe it's my new favorite breakfast I love it thank you so much this is a really cool experience for me I'm sure it was some kind of some kind of experience for you yeah although unusual it being Dana Cody yeah you don't usually come in here with a camera guy and some goofy looking white guy but here we are we're gonna finish up especially most chill taxi drivers I've ever seen very friendly cordial and informative and now we are with Mohammed he's bringing us to one of his favorite lunch spot there's these very different cultures together here all right you know Indian Chinese and like people three different religions yes - but can laugh together but they live together kind of you leave two minute harmoniously yes then this is a good chili sauce yes mention it something like it's a part you know okay never want you put on the side are you okay yes all right what's all this here this one oh you know take this of skill so you just kind of mix up some vegetable a little chili a little rice and you put it all together and you put it right in here that's it mmm thank you okay not just I see after a few seconds at the Fiesta can you feel us making Nanak nice baby not super spicy no yes after this after this all right it's like you want me to suffer there's vegetable there's rice there's some of this chilli sauce there's one of these seeds from in here altogether I'm gonna try to not be too messy but I mean do they have a sink before you want your mother right when you shake hands with somebody what hand do you use my right hand everything right hand very did I know that bathroom attendant yes of course I cracked the code so here the fish does this still have all the guts no it's a dirty you know but
