this is what the richest of the rich eat when they need a little pickme up in this episode of thousand dining that is absolutely delicious we have come to qual lumur in Malaysia to the luxurious St reges Hotel today we're going to do the breakfast buffet o that's intense we're going to order room service that looks good and we're going to have a unique dining experience for dinner these are probably the most unhealthiest cows in the world and my mission is to spend over $1,000 on high-end dining but is that possible in the country of Malaysia honestly maybe not right now it's 8:30 a.m. the breakfast buffet is open for 2 more hours let's go check it out and see you every time I do that I think I'm going to lose an arm so we are headed to the [Applause] Brer right behind me is the start of this Buffet outside of the breakfast buffet they start with all the boring stuff they got meat they got cheese over here we're moving into the bakery section look how highly organized it is right here fruit section I'll be honest I don't get that excited by the fruit section this is what I care about here this is the noodle section here they have three different types of noodles they have an egg noodle they have a flat rice noodle and they have a verit Shelli as we move forward we get into the Chinese area boom take a look at that that looks like it was choreographed this was not planned out at all delicious steam dim suum for breakfast right here we have all types of unique ballet dishes from around the country for example that that is oxtail soup sambal sat this is migor take a look at that this is like a little noodle cake that looks awesome I'm definitely going to be getting that and this gravy is what goes on top of that it looks delicious then we have the fried food section right here I like that in case you just have to start your day with 1,000 calories I'm starting to hate seeing beans and tomatoes at every buffet around the world Listen nobody eats beans with their breakfast except for a handful of British people that's it I believe there's probably no pork on this Buffet whatsoever there's a large musim community here it makes sense so when you see bacon here it's probably beef bacon but that doesn't mean it can't be good just kidding that's actually what it means beyond that they have beef sausage chicken sausage and then this is the live meat section right here so we have roasted lamb lamb toizo and chicken toizo right here they have so many different egg toppings for you to choose from finally and perhaps least exciting of all they have a yogurt bar so I'm very excited there are a lot of new and interesting Foods here I'm going to get some food we're going to sit down and start our day all right folks we have our first round right here I'm very proud of it I feel like I have a special talent when it comes for putting plates together that look yummy I want to start with debunking the myth that beef bacon tastes good right here we have the beef bacon it looks pretty close to normal bacon at least in color I don't know what they've done to it but let's try it out that's pretty good that's about as good as beef bacon guts right here we have some dim sum we have green flavored and yellow flavored now I'm hoping this is not a little triangle of cheese let me try it [Music] out no but what is that I have no idea I could go ask I'm not going to what I noticed too is that even though this is dim sum some people might eat it with soy sauce here they have about eight different options for dips and none of them are soy sauce this is what they recommended a sweet chili sauce give it a little bit of a dip and try it out M it tastes like a Classic Thai sweet chili sauce it's very nice it's almost overwhelming though I can't really taste the dim suum I just know it's there I can feel the pressure M very nice moist bouncy delicious I like it here we have something I've never tried before you know this is a country that loves noodles in different forms whether they're wheat whether they're rice and so right here they've taken a noodle and they put it into a log format and so it's like a little log of noodles it kind of reminds me of vietamese Hoy no is that the right word cheers very nice little chicken in there and this very spicy curry it is a lot of spice for morning time but I like it so this is course number one but there's a lot more I want to see let's keep moving I couldn't resist we're back here at the noodle bar I have to try some of these noodles they look impressive hello noodle men which noodle would you recommend you can try flat noodle okay let's do it he says flat rice noodle so he's going to put some of that into this bowl right here could I please put in shrimp and some fish balls maybe just some mushrooms it a little bit of a dip into blanching basket so for broth they have two options they have prawn and they have chicken I think I'm going to go prawn our basket's almost finished and then we're going with that prawn broth fried shallots and some spring onion thank you very much sir that looks fantastic I cannot get more items I cannot delay cuz this is a very delicate soup these rice noodles at any moment could expand get oversaturated and become completely useless if you look at like an egg noodle that's like the Rhonda Rousey of noodles you can do whatever you want to it it's going to be fine punch it in the face wait what no they can go a few rounds that's what I'm saying but these are like super delicate all right let's try it out oh pra broth is a bold Choice it's very intense salty and it certainly tastes of prawn it tastes even a little bit fermented this soup you got to be fast if you're going to eat this in the right State otherwise if more than a couple minutes goes by the noodles are going to turn to Mush there will be nothing left it's like that tragic video of a raccoon that has cotton candy and it tries to get it wet and then it disappears it'll be like that so that is the breakfast buffet that is $30 but next I'm going to be showing you my room now my room costs around $450 a day it's not cheap but when you see how much you get for $450 it's going to blow your freaking mind let's go take a look boom right here is the entryway and guys check it out a guest bathroom this is good for you and for your guest in case there's a surprise a emergency you don't have to smell each other here we have a huge living room couch television every Hotel should have this you come you've been traveling you're hungry and they have um whatever this is back over here we have a desk over here a dining table and then right here they have this huge cool case this is full of food and snacks here we've got some Tios some whiskey and some other whiskey hidden here beneath the coffee maker is a refrigerator boom partially stocked in case you need to celebrate they even have a tiny bottle of champagne very cool right now we're entering the the master bedroom whoosh king bed plush sheets and then if you're traveling with a lady she will love this a giant walk-in closet plenty of space for all your suitcases and right here a vanity where you can powder your nose as we head further down we find the most unnecessary room in this place the spa room I never seen this before they literally have a room with a bed for you to get a massage if you're cheap it can also be a guest bed do want and then across from the massage room we have the master bathroom take a look at this toilet usually it opens hey well hello there when you sit down the seats are heated oh making sounds frun cleansing I can cleanse the front as a man I've never done that before I don't think we can record this anymore so right here we have the room service menu and I am a big fan of this they'll make you scan some kind of QR code and they've got pictures first of all for lunch I'm going to need a little bit of an appetizer oh what's this this caviar with champagne why yes we've got buckwheat bellinis and traditional accompaniments it's only 30 G it's almost $300 definitely starting with that after caviar you can get a Boston Lobster Nazi lamok Nazi lamok is like the national dish of Malaysia coconut rice but here they paired it with the best lobster in the world the main lobster which it is huh well this one's from Boston maybe it talks like the Family Guy oh boy I got to tell you that that that sounds awful the other most expensive thing I could find is the sanoku wagu Tomahawk a bit over 2 lb this is coming in at $35 this is absolutely going to be the most expensive round of room service I've ever ordered in my life let's do it alas our food is here I can't wait to see it let's go well hello come on in we have multiple carts coming in oh my gosh lots of food I see the champagne I think I see some steak yep thank you right here we have our giant Tomahawk oo that looks good boom all right folks right here we have the biggest room service order I've ever had in my life it is coming in at $691 this steak is calling my name it looks delicious it's gigantic if you went to a fancy restaurant this slice of steak would be your steak cheers oh yeah that's delicious I mean you can taste these herbs that they've hit it with afterwards and then it tastes like they've cooked it with plenty of butter fine a solid 8 out of 10 like me when I was in high school here's a picture of me in high school yeah that's an 8 out of 10 I need something to wash this down how about some champagne with my luck I'm going to break one of the light fixtures they're going to make me pay for it it looks like it's coming out already oh God cheers today we celebrate life and eggs that have been scooped out of a dead fish caviar I've never seen a caviar presentation like this they have all these little flavor piles but I don't know really what they are here's a yellow flavor pile let's try that [Music] out I I don't know shaved egg yolk I'm supposed to be a food expert here the caviar beautiful I'm going to take a little bit of a scoop real nice low salty low Briny full of flavor oily I love it but now I'm going to take everything they given to me here and make a little sandwich put some cream in it with a little bit of EG hit it with another type of egg the egg white hit it with a little bit of onion and now I've ruined the whole thing hit it with a little bit of parsley that's gorgeous this is what the richest of the rich eat when they need a little pickme up hey hungry need a $300 caviar set [Music] cheers I don't hate that that's really good an amazing mix of flavors even the onion playing in there the cream o that stole my heart that is absolutely delicious 10 out of 10 I only order this one because I I had truffle on top and I love Burgers last we have one final meal this is Nasi lamak Nasi lak can be eaten with many different types of protein it is rarely eaten with a Boston Lobster now I'm not even sure why they call it a Boston Lobster recently I was with my man Jacob nolles in Maine where he's actually trapping lobsters those lobsters he traps some of those end up all around the world and it's amazing to know that I was where these are caught and that this thing was flown here probably in first class so could be on my plate correction so that half of it could be on my plate cheers mhm that's the good stuff it looks like normal rice but it has a Delicious coconut flavor and a hint of pondan as well let's break into this beautiful lobster look at this beautiful sauce that they put on here I'm going to put some of the tail on the rice let's try it out mhm oh my God that is 10 out of 10 in the past there's no way that somebody thought to combine Malaysian cooking techniques and ingredients and sauces with seafood from the Atlantic this is the ultimate collaboration this sauce this Som ball is so good you could put it on a car bomb and it would still be delicious and you know that we don't have a car bomb on us because they checked when we entered the hotel so I won't get to test that all in all I got to say uh a pricey meal but nothing here was extremely disappointing this is only lunch we still have one more meal to go I'm going to go to the nicest restaurant that I can find in this hotel and I'm going to order the most expensive thing on their menu let's let's [Music] go behind me our restaurant for tonight this is the most expensive restaurant in this building it's known as Sushi taka ushi I believe it is a Japanese restaurant and it is on the Michelin guide for 2023 I have reserved a private room let's go inside and see what the menu looks like oh my God guys take a look at this they have a meat fridge just hanging out here a fridge full of meat I thought it was a meat vending machine at first very exciting all right private room for one one take a look very minimalist like my thoughts all right folks let's break down this menu cuz it is all over the place I want it expensive they have expensive actually they finally have something that's a little bit too rich for my blood this right here the Harland estate special donabe rice for this Clay Pot rice it costs over $2,000 for rice and meat and stuff can't do it I'm going to start with a couple of simple things that look fascinating to me and here these are Japanese style crustless sandwiches I'm going to go with the w KATU send then I'm also going to go with this an oi wagu Burger there's beef and there's oi sea urchin goad check it out course one is here and it looks amazing so this is milk bread they call it it is crustless though it is not made crustless they have to make it and then cut off the crust I went to a factory where they do that and you might be wondering what do they do with all the crust well they feed it to pigs no not me other pigs so this is a wagu KATU which means means it's been kind of fried on the outside they have some Pinko crumbs on there got to eat it while it's hot let's go for it h that is decadent the bread itself I mean it's so thin there's almost no purpose to the bread except it creates a handle with which you can hold the meat the meat's been fried so as you bite through it you can feel that crunchy coating on the outside and it is decadent oily juicy and Rich plus there's some sauce in there it's a little bit Tangy to cut through all that heaviness it's very nice oh man one by one the Japanese are taking every food from around the world and perfecting it what's going to be next Bea PTI Pop-Tarts are they going to perfect the Pop-Tarts I will tell you one thing this is my first time having a $53 sandwich but when we're talking expensive this burger right here is 75 bucks so this is a beef patty they put some Tangy sauce on there already some lettuce underneath and then I have one thing I don't agree with here visually look at this piles and piles and piles of oonie and how much ooni am I giv this much somehow I'm going to deal with it so I'm going to carefully take the oi so I'm going to put it on top of the burger now this is a kaido oi from northern Japan once you put it on there and spread it out it seems like a pretty good amount put the rice bun on top [Music] cheers well it's Unique that's for sure I find the burger patty to be okay it's almost like a sberry steak it's not like you know a classic American beefy Burger the addition of the oi on there it just makes it slightly more Oceanic a little bit Briny but I don't think oi really belongs on a burger oi doesn't belong that many things at all to be frank overall it's a good attempt with something only a Visionary could create but if I had to choose between these two definitely I'm going with the Sando all day this is course one and we have one more course to go am I going to order that clay pot for $2,000 absolutely not let's get some [Music] steak ladies and gentlemen right here we have the final course of today and it looks beautiful I ordered a steak they didn't ask you I want asparagus or mushrooms or mashed potatoes they just brought a steak I tried getting the most expensive steak but they don't have it actually for their age steak you have to plan ahead 1 month imagine that 1 month ahead of time you have to call them tell them you want the Stak and then they will give it to you but I did not do that I planned ahead by about 3 minutes so this is what they have a 300 G steak that costs $250 what's interesting is they didn't even ask me how I wanted to cook they didn't ask me about the temp they just cooked it to a medium that was their preference so I'm going with it I'm going to try this middle piece right here this looks juicy soft and tender really similar to what was is already in our sandwich let's go for it baby yeah that's nice I mean it's almost too much it's salty Rich crazy oily like the interspersed fat within is just gushing out every time you take a bite but then it's Smoky too is that worth 250 bucks tough call you know when I was in Kobe Kobe when I was in Kobe Japan I had a 200 g steak it cost $200 but the chef made it right in front of you and I was in actual Japan this is a similar experience but more meat and and no chef and I'm not in Japan all in all I got to say thumbs up to this restaurant I enjoyed the food but if you come here call ahead by 1 month and make sure they have all the food you want from here I'm going to step outside add up everything we ate today and see if I spend over $11,000 on [Music] dining so that is th000 dining here in Malaysia and if you add it all up the breakfast buffet the room the room service and the dinner the total of all those things together are this much money today was very shocking to me for a few reasons one is that I found this hotel to be very rain by that I mean they have some of the most expensive food I've seen anywhere a freaking Clay Pot dish that goes for $2,000 room service that can cost hundreds of dollars if you wanted to but then you look at the room itself only $450 for a lot of space I mean I have my own massage table SL bed my wife will make me sleep on if she's mad at me I hope you enjoyed this unique glimpse into life here in Malaysia at least in this hotel otherwise guys that is it for this one thank you so much for watching I will see you next time peace this is
