Local Church guide to using Facebook Live

given the realities of the coronavirus also known as kovat 19 we wanted to share with you some ideas and tips on how to do Facebook live inexpensively and with good results in your local church the first thing you're going to need is a tripod make sure that you get a phone holder if you're going to use a cell phone for Facebook live there's also holders for ipads and we'll show that to you at the end of this video when you mount the phone make sure that you're putting the camera toward your subject and with the the screen from Facebook facing toward the camera operator then you go to the page where you want Facebook live to project when you're ready just go in type an introduction so that your audience knows what's coming and then hit Facebook live it's as simple as that because the camera is facing forward the camera operator is then able to use the tripod to tilt pan and be able to adjust what is in focus what is in the frame that's how you do Facebook live video when you're done hit finish and if you want to save it to your page you may do so now let's talk microphones there are all kinds of microphones available and there are also adapters that can go into your phone make sure you have the right adapter for your phone when attaching your microphone to the tripod you might have to use something as simple as duct tape but it works make sure the microphone is pointing the direction that your camera is then you need to do a test again to make sure that the audio is coming through Facebook live testing one two three testing audio test one two three one two three one two three testing one two three you may also purchase a audio cable that on one end looks like a headphone jack and on the other end can go into your phone this headphone jack would then go into your soundboard at your church and that will allow you to take the mix right out of the soundboard again be sure to test this out before you go live on Sunday morning you might have to adjust the sound levels coming out of your board so you don't have to put your camera right next to the board you can put your camera up close so that you can get the best picture and then run a cable all the way back to the sound board if you choose to use a tablet or an iPad instead of a phone is the same sort of idea don't be afraid to test test and test again and be sure that you have an excellent internet connection if you do not have Wi-Fi accessibility that's not a problem you can use your cell phone service to be able to Facebook live make sure that you check out the licensing requirements a link for more information about licenses to live stream are included in the comments below good luck and if you have any questions at all give us a call or send us an email your communications team is here to help
