as i got to share in the first service i was reminded of this verse earlier in the week in psalm 37 verse 3. and it says trust in the lord do good live in the land cultivate faithfulness i believe that god is establishing something in us this morning and that's trusting in him i'm amazed that what i cultivate today i can use tomorrow [Music] and what i cultivated weeks ago or days ago or months ago i'm eating on now see there's some context of that verse that says that you'll cultivate and you'll have it in the future and there's some context of that verse that says you can have it now and i believe that uh as a church and i believe this is a word for our church that though we're standing on a place that would seem like follow ground that it would seem like hard ground that even though we're standing in this place and we continue to believe and we continue to stand because we know our god something that will always help you to cultivate the ground is remembering how good god is and what he's done for you in your life and you pull that into that hard ground now and you begin to cultivate because you're gonna need it tomorrow god is establishing in us faith that leads us into knowing him and into trusting in him this is our god this is who he is this is what he does we can feast on him [Music] another way that we do this is by praising him and worshiping him it's another way in which we cultivate our faith jesus you're beautiful jesus you're beautiful jesus you're beautiful come on church jesus you're beautiful jesus you're beautiful jesus [Music] jesus [Music] jesus [Music] and i believe there's another way in which we cultivate our faith [Music] pastor aaron he used to stand in the back of the church and he used to yell jesus [Music] and he would speak into the atmosphere come on and you could feel a shift it was his faith that he cultivated that produced shout on him that said jesus [Music] it just came out of him and what begins to happen as the spirit of god begins to move on you is that you can't contain it but to speak into the atmosphere the will of god the name of jesus his goodness and what i want to do right now in honor of pastor aaron is we want to begin to shout to jesus look at how beautiful our jesus is look at how good our god is look at how amazing he is this is jesus author and perfecter and finisher of my life this is jesus the one who is and the one that always will be this is the one [Music] do you hear me church in other words this is how we fight our battle this morning this is how we begin to cultivate our faith in a hard place this is what we do as we give jesus all the glory and we get vocal we get vocal we tell our soul come on oh my soul praise the lord and all that is within me come on in jesus christ [Music] [Music] [Music] hey my dance is a weapon my shower [Music] my shower is [Music] this is where the healing comes come on this is where the healing comes that your eyes are like frames of fire look at jesus [Music] come on let it come up let it come up let it come up let it come up [Music] and i know that your eyes it sounds like water jesus you're beautiful jesus you're beautiful [Music] [Music] jesus [Music] surely there is no one like him in all the heavens and all the earth there is no one like our god come on you got to tell your neighbor there is no one like our god jesus is so beautiful you jesus thank you jesus thank you jesus thank you jesus thank you jesus [Music] church i'm so proud of you i'm so proud of you you know i wanna i wanna just tell you last week we had a powerful powerful time in this room and we prayed hard and i believe that the presence of god was in this room probably one of the most powerful times that experience with god in this room on a sunday with you all it was amazing to see your faith arise to a place where we're just calling on life and jesus jesus jesus you know today aaron is in the eternal presence of the lord we have an eternal promise and he's standing in that place and i am so grateful that we contended in this season the way we have thank you jesus i was going to say something really encouraging but i forgot what i was going to say [Music] i'm not having a holy moment i'm having a duh moment but you know what happened as a result of that when we were in this room and we were worshiping and we were praising there was people that began to receive healing after healing in this room without anyone touching them you can't tell me that the presence of god wasn't in this place my daughter was standing in the back suddenly having supernatural experiences another lady who had 10 weeks couldn't even didn't even have mobility she got into an accident 10 weeks ago man and she didn't even have mobility in her arm she couldn't even move and all sudden she found herself with hands raised both of them raised just singing to jesus and and realized that god had touched her in this very room we've seen miracle after miracle after miracle and i need you to do something today we need to do something today is that we need to continue to trust in the lord and put our faith in him because he can and he will and he does it over and over again and though we may feel like there are times in our life when we have failed i'm telling you right now there was no failure that came from us praying last sunday the way we did when i tell you that god is good at his word aaron king today stands in the eternal promise of god but i'm so grateful that we did it and i have no regrets of last sunday not a one and i'll have no regrets this sunday either because jesus is beautiful jesus you're beautiful [Music] jesus you're beautiful jesus you're beautiful jesus jesus whoa jesus [Music] do you need prayer today what do you need from jesus this morning would you put it before him just get quiet for a second and put it before him is there a heartbreak is there something you're believing for [Music] would you put it before jesus right now just focusing on jesus jesus you're beautiful jesus i need you jesus i want you [Music] jesus i love you jesus [Music] jesus i can see jesus coming i can see jesus in this place i can see jesus removing hurt and pain i can see jesus healing and touching i can see jesus doing it thank you jesus whoa [Music] thank you jesus i have one more favor to ask of you just like we said earlier in all right you crazy bunch settle down settle down how you guys doing [Music] yeah we have an amazing opportunity now to uh so to give unto the lord to receive the tithes and offerings that are unto the lord and uh you know i want to tell you something that we are a church that stands in the victory of god see here at shiloh we believe that because of jesus christ and his finished work of the cross that we have the victory of the lord that that we have the favor of god that he is on our life how many of you can say i am saved by the goodness of jesus come on by his resurrection by his by his death on the cross but his resurrection life i am a victor come on how many of you can say i am more than a conqueror listen if you're not feeling it just say it i promise by the end of the day you're going to feel it okay but i was praying and i was thinking about this moment and i was just thinking about how often times you know in our in our world we're surrounded by fear right now there's been a lot of fear and and we know that that even though there's fear we're not to let that take root in us and and i'm not being ignorant of the things that are going on they truly are there is fearful things going on we are battling every day we are in a spiritual war remember that it's not against flesh and blood but against principality spiritual darkness evil forces there is a fight that's being waged but we stand in the victory we stand in the victor's place i want you to remember that as the days continue to progress you know and and right now even on even on the financial standpoint there's a lot of things going on that people don't understand do you guys uh know that this week the treasury ran out of money many of you are thinking what they print it yeah don't worry god has a plan but but what i'm saying is when people begin to hear that right what happens is that a little sting comes in a little fear comes in and then usually what we see is that people in the world what we see is that people have a withholding spirit and they begin to hold back because they're worried about something that's coming that hasn't happened and but here at shiloh we don't live from that place because we understand who we are we understand that we're victorious in christ jesus and that he is absolutely our provider and that he's wonderful in every way and so what we choose to do in times like these is we continue to bring the offering of the lord in many ways and we bring it to him through one of them is through our ties and offerings and i really want to encourage you all to bring something unto the lord today don't let this moment go by without you being able to bless the lord for all of his goodness i i believe that the word over us today is a victory decree and i want to read this that's actually one of my favorite books right here patricia is uh is this little book and man i love this book this is the copy that stays on my desk i use it often i really really like this little book but i felt that in this day that those hard things may happen that the victory stands with the people of the lord and i felt and i heard the lord say to us that we will stand in that place of victory we are we are victors and we will continue to stand in that place of victory no matter what comes we will stand in victory and so i just want to decree this awesome decree on victory over you as we prepare our ties and offerings there's different ways here you can sew at shiloh there's some there's some here up on the screen for you for you watching online sadness has no dominion over me discouragement has no dominion over me in jesus mighty name it goes on to say this no weapon formed against me shall prosper and i shall confuse every tongue that rises up against me in judgment my mind is renewed by the word of god the weapons of my warfare are not carnal but mighty through the through through god to the pulling down of strongholds i cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of christ i bring every thought captive into the obedience of truth i am accepted in the beloved greater is he that is in me that he that is in the world nothing can separate me from the love of god which is in christ jesus my lord i am the righteousness of god in christ jesus i am not a slave to sin but of righteousness i continue in his word i know the truth and the truth has set me free come on come on listen if you're not excited by now we want to lay hands on you i have been delivered out of the dominion of darkness and i am now abiding in the kingdom of god i am not intimidated by the enemy's lies he is defeated for the purpose of christ came into the world to destroy the works of the evil one i submit to god and resist the devil the enemy flees from me in terror because the lord lives and mightily in me i give the devil no opportunity no opportunity in my life god has not given me a spirit of fear but a love of power and of a sound mind terror shall not come near me because the lord is the strength of my life and he always causes me to triumph in christ jesus in christ i am the head and not the tail i am above and not beneath a thousand shall fall on my side and ten thousand at my right side and none shall touch me i am seated with christ in heavenly places far above all principalities and powers i have been given the power to tread upon scorpions and over all power of the enemy serpents too sorry [Music] nothing shall injure me no longer will the enemy oppress me say that with me no longer will the enemy oppress me i i defeat him by the authority that christ has given me i am more than a conqueror through christ come on that is our giving decree today as we sow we stand in the victory are you with me right on let's pray for heavenly father thank you thank you for your son jesus thank you father because you're with us thank you jesus for your work on the cross that you died and rose up again and we stand in the victory today and we decree that the lord god is our god and that we will have no other gods and we stand on this place fully trusting and knowing not with a withholding spirit but with a generous spirit because the lord my god has blessed me and will continue to bless me all the days of my life in jesus mighty name let's give ushers please serve the going through a lot haven't we and of course aaron's homecoming we're so happy for him as he's in the presence of the lord but we miss him you know we miss him terribly and we've been through a lot of battle in the house especially over health issues in this last uh probably three to four months and we've been fighting hard and we've been fighting well and there's been so many prophetic words over us regarding miracles you know a house of miracles of healing and resurrections and that's what we're going for and i think that's why the enemy loves to attack when he hears destiny on your life he loves to attack to try to keep you down but guess what this house doesn't buy into that this house doesn't buy into that and i want to thank you all so much for the way that you love so well you love so well and all of those that have been really battling in faith and persevering in faith we've seen so many of you getting on board and just serving not only in prayer with your faith but also in real practical ways and that's what family is all about so i want to encourage you but i want to share this morning a part three of a series that i've been teaching called living good in the midst of bad living good in the midst of bad so when all hell is breaking loose around you that there is a place to stand and we need this kind of truth anchored in our hearts actually um to to stabilize us for our whole life because there are times in life where things aren't going really great right but at those times you can still be great you can be great in the midst of things being being uh just you know realms of attack all around you you can still stand strong and be great and find yourself in the peace of the lord and that's what we want to establish in you in your faith that no matter what you know and we're living in the realm of time right now and in the realm of time there are there are issues there are things that can bring you sorrow there are things that can bring you pain but it's only in the realm of time and for believers when we leave this realm of time into the eternal dimension there is no more sorrow there is no more pain there is no more struggle there is no more poverty or anything like that it is all eternal bliss and that is that is our promise so when we're living in the earth and we're hitting difficult challenges that are only found in this realm uh then we're going to fight it well and we're going to come through well and that's our prayer for all of you but in john 16 let's just open with a couple of scriptures john 16 33 jesus said this he said i have told you these things so that in me you may have peace in this world you will have trouble you'll notice the promise there it's actually a promise how many of you want to claim that one the name it and claim it right in this world you will have trouble but take heart and in some version it says take courage for i have overcome the world and that's what we're going to stand in is that overcoming blessing and then in john 10 10 of course jesus said this and we we stand on this we believe this he said as the thief comes the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy but i came so that they would have life and have it abundantly and that one scripture will help you rightly divide things in the midst of trauma or tragedy or hits that are taking place in your life you'll be able to rightly divide for how to stand on a firm foundation with that one scripture knowing that god is good the devil's bad okay so you'll be able to discern where the where the the hard issues where the assaults are coming from and so this morning i woke up i actually had a whole different message for you today but when i woke up this morning i really felt the lord say reflect on job reflect on the book of job reflect on his life because there's secrets in his life there's insights there's there's nuggets in his life that will really help you in this season and so we're going to look at the example of of job and as we do that i just want to help you um understand kind of the the breakdown of the bible as we can study it we know that we study by revelation we're imparted to by revelation but let's just take a look at a little bit of academia here um in the old testament um the books of the bible are broken up into the books of moses the first five books of the bible the books of history the books of poetry or wisdom sometimes it's called the major prophets of the minor prophets and the new testament is broken up into the gospels the historical book of acts um the epistles and the prophetic book of revelation so that's kind of the the way that you can study those books and the themes of those books and but the books of poetry the books of wisdom are job they're psalms proverbs ecclesiastes and the song of solomon so those are the five books of poetry or sometimes called wisdom and oswald chambers who lived back in the early 1900s gave this summary of the five books he said job taught how to suffer interesting we don't hear too much teaching about suffering but job teaches how to suffer psalms teach us how to pray proverbs teaches how to act ecclesiastes teaches how to enjoy and song of solomon how to love i thought that was a cool outline there so when we look at the the book of job we see a story of a man who was a really righteous man he was a good man he had a good heart he loved the lord he did what was right in the sight of god he had a passion for what was right and he was blessed he was blessed in every aspect of his life he was blessed in his his family he was blessed in his his possessions he was blessed in his health he was a blessed man he had favor in the community um he he was an influencer he was just had the blessing of the lord so he was a man who lived for god and a man that lived under the canopy of god's blessing and of course the the enemy came to god and said you know the only reason the only reason job serves you like he does is because of how good you are to him and if bad things were to happen to him he would probably turn around and curse you he would just turn around and curse you because he doesn't love you like you think he does he just loves you because of the blessings but if you were to allow hard times to come on him he wouldn't love you he would probably turn around and curse you and and of course god knew job's heart and knew that wasn't the case and was going to raise up a judgment against the enemy to show him what was really in job's heart i believe god knew all along but satan was in for a revelation right so job was attacked when the enemy came after job he was attacked in every area of his life now some bible scholars have said that that job's actual assault period was only about a year how accurate that is i don't know because when you read the book of job it seems like a little bit more intense than than what a year can bring but apparently it was only for about a year but in that time he lost all of his children now he had 10 children he had seven sons he had three daughters and he lost all of them 10 children died gone can you imagine even losing one he lost 10 at the same time and this isn't just a story a story written in the bible this actually happened he also lost his possessions he was a very wealthy man he had lots of cattle and sheep and everything he lost all his possessions he lost his own health he was a healthy man vibrant anyway every way and all of a sudden he was attacked in his health and was you know taken down to a place where he couldn't even hardly function because of the assault on his health and he'd been a very healthy person up to that time and his reputation was questioned the whole community thought because back in the day back in that day it was believed that if you did evil in the sight of the lord then you would be cursed so obviously if something's going wrong it's because you're bad okay so he lost his reputation it was in question his friends accused him we'll look at some of those in a moment and we at shiloh we've got to be good friends okay i'm telling you we're going to stand with each other we're going to fight for each other we're going to you know we're just going to support until until we see breakthrough we're not going to be like job's friends okay who accused him and what about his wife okay job's wife was a trial in herself she tested him and told him to even turn around and curse god which was exactly what the enemy wanted him to do and his wife's on board with the enemy i mean he's he's got a bad none of us have been through anything like what job went through right no one in this room i don't think has been in that level of intensity on in some areas maybe but not all of it and so let's take a look at some of the um remarks from his friends so bildad he says if you would seek god and implore the compassion of the almighty and if you are pure and upright surely now he would rouse himself for you and restore your righteous estate job 8 verses 1 and 5 to 6. what a friend saying you know what job here's you know if you would just become more righteous if you would pray a little bit more if you do this a little bit more just clean up your act a little bit more then everything will work out and how many of you know that oftentimes when we get hit we go there and we say okay god search my heart see if there's anything in me is there anything i need to do differently is there anything that is is blocking and that's not an unhealthy thing to do that's okay but if you're being a friend to someone you don't just say to them hey you know there's probably something really wrong and if you just get your act together god would move on your behalf because that might not be the case at all and it was not the case in job's life it was not the case in job's life at all and some people's theology is such that they can say things from what they believe that doesn't apply because they don't know the fullness of god okay so far this is what he says if you would direct your heart right and spread out your hand to him and if iniquity is in your hand put it far away and do not let wickedness dwell in your tens then indeed you could lift up your face without moral defect and you would be steadfast and not fear ah another one right and what about eliphaz if you return if if if you will do this if you will do that everything will work out if you will return to the almighty you will be restored in other words job you've got to be far from him obviously you can't be walking close with god or these things would not be happening to you how many of you have gone through tests and trials and your own mind has told you those things right if you remove unrighteousness far from your tent and place your gold in the dust and the gold of ophir among the stones of the brooks then the almighty will be your gold and choice silver to you in other words he's trying to tell him you've got your mind on the wrong things here you just have to put god as your priority i mean this is this is not happy job is job has lost his kids he's lost his possessions and he's hurting like stink every part of his body is throbbing with pain i mean he is in agony and his friends are supposed to come and comfort him but instead they're just letting them have it oh lord keep those kind of friends away from us [Laughter] i just want to remind you too in all that job was going through it was satan who was who was afflicting job not god not god okay so satan believed though that job was going to abandon god he was going to curse god he was going to fail to believe if he was tested to this degree but job didn't buy into it now job never cursed god but he did falter in three areas okay first of all he was deficient in the knowledge of god he didn't understand the fullness of all god was and i just want to say this is in any trial you go through it is an opportunity to look to the greatness of god i find sometimes i have my theological um confinements busted wide open in the midst of a trial because you see bigger things about god than you've ever known him before known him to be before and so it's a time of exploring the knowledge of god and that's an opportunity that you can have and then there was deficiency in the spirit of humility before god because in the end i mean poor job you know he was really going through it and kind of rose up and said some things that that um that weren't right before god and he was brought into a humble place at the end of the book you see that he did humble himself before god and he was deficient in his posture of unquestioning submission to god and even though i think he did a great job there was just some things there so what i think this draws out to us is no matter how steadfast you are in the lord and how how much you desire to walk perfectly through any trial keeping your heart right keeping upright before god there's just times that that we can just be imperfect in the process and you need to to allow the lord to comfort you in that you need to allow the lord's grace to speak to you and say you know what i know what you're going through you got it a little bit wrong right now we need to adjust a few things but man do i ever love you and i am not going to take my hand off of you and there's times in the midst of trial when you can scream and yell at god have you ever done that i mean it's just not right right i remember years ago when ron and i were going through a real like a five-year assault on financial provision and uh when we first started out in the ministry we we went under a big big test and i remember one day i mean we were suffering really bad there was no food in the cupboards there was i mean i'm talking about no food not just food that you don't like we didn't even have ketchup in the bottle to add water to and make soup okay we didn't even have that and i remember screaming at god getting mad at him you know saying even the heathen you know can look after their kids what about us today we don't have this we don't have that where are you you know have you ever barked at god like that well it's not the right thing to do but in the midst of it god understands god understood job god understands you when you're going through a hard time and you're just at your wit stand in here you're just trying to find an answer and and and you lose it but he's saying there's a place to come back to he has so much mercy for you like don't ever feel self-condemned in that place i remember the lord showing me a lesson on that you know when you when you walk through a time i remember years ago after after that five year period i was i was having a time with the lord i mean this was probably within the last maybe 12 years or so i was having a time with the lord and he said uh patricia do you remember that that five-year period that you and you and ron walk through when you started ministry and how hard it was i thought yeah i remember it well i don't remember the pain of it anymore you don't when you come through you remember god's goodness and you go on you can remember the incident but you don't remember the pain in the same way and um i said oh yeah i remember it i i i just i'm so regretful for some of the low places i went because in any kind of trial there's going to be times when you are really making it in times when you're not okay and there were times when i did it there's times when my faith struggled and and you know like i i shared with you i even yelled at god one time and um he said i just want to thank you for the way that you walk through that you walk through it perfect you walk through it with perfect faith perfect faith and i said um that's not how i remember it and i said don't you remember this and this and this and i i was reminding him of all these times when i blew it and lost my faith in the midst of the belly said no no i don't remember that i don't remember that i only remember your perfect faith and it really it really touched my heart because i realized like god justifies us just as if we never sin just as if we never made a mistake and when i was looking at all my failures in that walk of faith he was saying i don't remember that at all i only remember how great you were you were so great through the whole thing your faith was perfect and i want to encourage you with that today because some of you have been facing some hard things some of you have been praying and praying and praying and wondering well where is god in this because i don't see him showing up what's happened and you're getting frustrated and and and wondering where is he in it all you feel like you're losing it but when you get back on track with god which is what job did he just kept his his face toward god god just says wow you're amazing look at the great faith you have look how perfectly you're walking through your issues oh he's so good so god wants us to to keep our eyes on him job did question god but he never denied him and he never cursed him and sometimes you just have to give yourself space give yourself the place to say i'm i just i'm questioning i don't understand and you know honestly there are some things that we might not understand while we're still in this earth maybe we won't have understanding but it's okay to say god i don't understand i don't understand why this is happening i don't understand why it looks like my prayers are not being heard i don't understand why when we're believing for a resurrection and you say it in your word that we can minister resurrection and it doesn't happen i don't understand why aaron wasn't resurrected last sunday because the faith in this room was so amazing i don't understand it's okay to say i don't understand mary when gabriel came to her said you're going to be the mother of christ i don't understand i'm a virgin she just didn't understand it didn't mean she was denying god it didn't mean she was she was saying no to god it just was like i just don't get it help me help me help me to understand and god will and sometimes we have to be patient sometimes we don't get the understanding right away there's still a whole list of questions i have when i go before the lord that i don't have understanding for at this time but i know i will god is going to satisfy every question he is going to give every answer he is going to give us everything that we need but in the meantime we take a stand of i believe in you god and i'm not going to let my faith shift i'm not going to weaken in my faith i'm not going to curse you i'm not going to blame you i'm going to stand with you and that is what job did my oldest son growing up job was his favorite book and i thought that's a strange book for a young boy to love i said honey i don't understand why you love job so much and he says because he kept the faith he kept the faith through all those hard things and i was so touched by hearing his little voice i think he was around 11 years old when he said that to me and i thought yeah i want to keep the faith like that too i want to be one who keeps the faith no matter what and in these coming days church we're going to be challenged there's going to be things that will challenge your belief in god that will challenge your faith that will challenge your belief in the bible and you have to make a determination i'm going to i'm gonna choose to stand and believe and trust all the way through that's what what job did because during trials you can be tempted to resent god you can be tempted to deny god ah well he's not showing up maybe he's not even real right and you can be tempted to curse god job suffered it was true suffering and some of us have been truly suffering in this season and we don't understand the mystery of suffering i don't understand the mystery of it i believe there is a mystery and suffering because christ suffered for us and as us there's something very powerful in it that i have to say i don't understand the the whole mystery of it but i do know that on the other side of it it brings forth glory and we're taught in the scripture that what we suffer in this time in the temporal realm creates a realm of greater glory that comes and we see this even in job's life when job went through all that suffering at the end he gets double restoration he had 10 children that died but at the end of job he had 20 children restored there's a minister that i was working with not that long ago and he said patricia i really believe that job is a book of resurrection and i believe that the 10 children he lost were resurrected i thought i'll take that and then given ten more all his sheep and cattle resurrected and then given double i i just like thinking on that you know we'll find out for sure one day but in the meantime i i just choose to to buy into that one the book of job models for us a holy trust in god that we can have no matter what is going on around us and we're going to be a people of great trust in job 13 15 he says though he slay me yet i will trust him but i will maintain my own ways before him before him i will live and i will trust him no matter what is going on around me and no matter what is happening i'm just going to trust him i'm going to put all my trust in him in first peter 5 10 it says after you've suffered for a little while this is peter speaking he knew a little bit about suffering in different areas didn't he after you have suffered a little while the god of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in christ will himself perfect confirm strengthen and establish you there's something that happens in the realm of suffering that on the other side of it strengthens you and establishes you and going back to the example i gave earlier about our five-year testing period it was grueling at times there was pain in the offering i'm telling you it was excruciating on many levels but at the end of that five years we had a breakthrough and secured a realm of abundance that we're still living in today that happened when we were in our 30s well i'm in my 70s now so that's a lot of decades of being blessed five years of suffering and decades of being blessed because something happened as we trusted god in that season and wouldn't let go of him and stood on the promises of god and made the decrees of the word decreeing the word of god in that season and not letting up on it and obeying the word of god and just trusting god no matter what i remember saying god if we never see the breakthrough of what we're believing for we will we will love you and serve you no matter what and then at the end of that five years was this i actually felt the moment we had the breakthrough i felt it in the spirit i could feel it and it shifted it shifted from that moment and continued to escalate to this very day to this very day the blessing of god follows us in ways that just caused me to stand in awe of him but we got perfected in it there was things in our heart that were brought to light we were confirmed we were strengthened and we were established and you'll find after every hard season you go through whether it's a mild affliction or a stronger affliction after every difficult season you will see an establishment if you keep the faith it's amazing and that's part of the is part of the the mystery of suffering god doesn't produce that you won't find in god's realm in the heavenly dimension there's no sorrow there's no sickness there's no pain there's no poverty it's not in god's realm he doesn't produce it for you he doesn't afflict you with the pain the thief comes to steal to kill and to destroy that's why he sent jesus so that we would be free from all of that stuff and so we have a place of knowing the goodness of god and knowing where the where the affliction actually is born from and who we're fighting and how to fight and how to stand we have these instructions in the word and when we take our place in that instruction and when we follow it you will be confirmed and established you will be blessed you will take hold of a whole realm of goodness that you can't see when you're in the midst of the suffering when you're in the midst of the suffering you can't often see beyond the suffering that's why we need each other we don't need to be job's friends and dig the grave deeper no we need to say no you're going to make it through we love you we're going to carry you through we'll go through this together and we're going to take hold of god because we know he's good so when you're being tested let's just look at a few things here when you're being tr tested number one trust god no matter what the outcome he is with you and let him know that saying god no matter what no matter what this looks like no matter what it feels like right now even though everything in me is quivering i don't even know how i can trust you but i choose to trust you i choose to trust that you are good i choose to lean upon you he is with you and he will carry you i remember when i was in mexico we were living in mexico on the mission field and we were going through what at the time looked like a big you know a big assault you know a big level of warfare when i look at it now i kind of chuckle i think i don't know what i thought was so hard about that because it seems like nothing now but at the time i was overwhelmed and i remember i was driving i was in the lineup going through the tijuana border going into san diego and i was overwhelmed with this burden and the assault that was going on and on the radio came up this song um that really touched my heart how many of you have had a song that touches your heart when you're in the midst of a difficult time and it says if he carries the weight of the world upon his shoulder he will carry you he is able to carry you and the words just went into my soul and i just got so encouraged in that just with that one thing knowing you know god you carry all that's going on in the world you carry on your shoulders so my issue is so small in comparison so i choose to trust you and there's something that happened that day that i leaned on him and i relinquished my care i cast all my care and put it on him so i said god i just trust you no matter what way this turns out i trust you because when the enemy's afflicting doesn't he hang over you all the horrible things that are going to happen oh it could be this and this might happen and this might happen and all the worst case scenarios come to your mind because he's tormenting you so when you say okay even if all that were to happen i'm going to trust god and he's going to be good to me i'm just going to trust him even if all of that happens i'm going to trust him secondly pray for others when you're going through a hard time it'll help you tremendously and it was after job prayed for his friends and forgave them and you know prayed blessing on them and that it was after he prayed for them that his breakthrough came and i find often times when when i'm in a battle and you probably find the same thing you're so absorbed in the battle you're not even thinking outside of the battle but a breakthrough comes when you say god show me other people that have a need right now and you start praying for them or even going and helping them or text them and say is there anything i can do to serve you is there anything i can do to help you so when you're in a hard place yourself when you start looking to the needs of others it really helps lift you up into a place of glory and a place where god's peace can can come upon you thirdly look beyond the natural into the eternal and again i can't stress this enough we have to live with an eternal perspective we only live in a realm where hardship can be here only while we're in this earth after we finish this realm there is none of it again ever you are not going to face it it'll be absolute eternal bliss for those who believe in jesus christ and we've got to get a whole bunch more people into into this house right i mean it is amazing the promises we have so like some of you you know you only have a few decades left of times that could be difficult and in those few decades there's going to be a lot of really good stuff going on a lot of really great blessings but there might be some periods where there'll be some difficulties and that's when you have to remember when you're in the midst of the difficulties and say you know what this is so temporal this is only going to last for a short time and actually i don't even have that many years left and i'm in eternal bliss so i'm going to live for eternity i'm going to make all the right decisions i'm going to stand for what god says while i'm in the midst of this trial because i'm going to sow into that dimension where there's only bliss and it'll help you stand in the challenging times so if you're like 20 years old right now chances are you only have six or seven decades at the most living in this realm it's not very long i probably only have two or three it's not very long and in that two or three decades that i have i might have some periods of real rough times but you see how small it is in the light of the eternal glory that is waiting for us and so let's not waste our sorrows let's use them to sow into the breakthrough to sow into the glory realm that's going to follow and look what happened to job talk about a great glory realm that followed his time of difficulty and then finally stir expectancy for the goodness of god to manifest don't ever let your expectancy grow dim even though it looks like nothing's happening just say no i expect goodness and if it's not now it'll be after but it'll come because my god is good and this is a horrific situation but god's going to work it together for good because he says he will it's going to work together for good it's just the way it's going to happen and stir your expectation because your expectation is connected to your faith and your faith connects to the promise so keep your expectation high i'm expecting great things all the prophetic words over this house oh wow we're going to be a hub for revival a hub for miracles and when we look at that and how many people are going to be supernaturally healed and resurrected and empowered by the lord compared to what we're facing now you know we have a lot to rejoice in it doesn't minimize the pain that we're feeling now but in the midst of our pain we can release expectation for the goodness of god to manifest and to remember that your current circumstances do not define who you are or what your future is a lot of times when you go through a hard time you begin to identify with the hardness of that time and you begin to take on an identity saying well i'm just no good or you know i feel like i'm going crazy i probably am how many of you have been there right you know i'm losing it i don't have any faith i'm this i'm not and we begin to identify with negative things because of the circumstances and then we begin to look at our future out of that negativity and say it's so bad for me right now my future is probably just going to be filled with a lot more of this and nothing good is going to happen and and i just feel terrible and blah blah blah blah and we allow our current circumstances to define our future we've got to lay that one down because it's not true who defines our future the lord does and his promises his promises define your future not your current circumstances he tells you in his word who you are not your circumstances and we have to choose to believe him and his goodness because your life is going to be filled with goodness your life is going to be filled with really really good things david said in psalm 23 goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life the lord's going to set a banquet feast before you in the presence of your enemies amen i tell you it's all good say it's all good shout it out it's all good one more time it's all good it is it truly is god is good and when we look at job the book of job what i like the best about that book outside of job 29 which talks about all the blessing he lived in before the assault came but the best part of the book is the end where so much restoration so much bliss so much goodness amazing right and all the beautiful things that happened in his life and for his life because of the assault that's why i always say devil you are so stupid you are going to be sorry you ever tried you will be sorry you ever tried because this is going to work together for my good amen give the lord a big praise [Applause] well thank you for that word patricia that was a really really really good word and we're so grateful to god for that uh how many of you can can say uh with a surety one more time it's all good that's right that's right with jesus christ that's right but uh you know it's always a good apostle as to say let's point it back to the miracle worker how you guys doing all right good well listen um uh like i said uh in the first service i'm so sorry uh to tell you uh that aaron king has passed you guys knew from last week and we stood for resurrection and what was going on and there was a lot of people but uh a couple things have transpired this week is one is that through the understanding of what we were contending for what we were doing we felt that the lord gave us a word and so we shared that with maida who is aaron's wife and respectfully waited for her and her family to choose and decide and they decided to lay pastor aaron to rest and so we honor that and we respect it because we know where aaron is and so i need you to know that why because a lot of you are wondering are we going to honor him you better believe it we will be having a celebration service he's our friend he's our brother he has been here to serve many of us there wasn't uh there wasn't a person here that if you called on help and you needed help that aaron wouldn't show up and say how can we help you know it was just his attitude his spirit his heart it's who he was it's who we are as servant leaders and so uh so absolutely we're gonna honor him so it'll probably be closer to the to the end of october but we'll give you more information on that as we're deciding all those things with the family but i'm encouraged by this word today i'm encouraged by this word today uh because um it's it's i want to say this as delicately as possible but hear my heart when i'm saying this it's not just about aaron it's bigger than like we suffered a loss but can you imagine like all over the world there's people suffering a loss and so absolutely we have a mandate before the lord to share the goodness of god his love his peace his kindness with others that they would be drawn into with the lord and to having a relationship with the lord and so i i just want to just encourage you along with what patricia said today for our lives absolutely but do not fear for god has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and a sound mind my encouragement to you as a pastor is to be there for people jesus was compassionate in all things because of his compassion for people people were drawn to him and you get to verses in john 12 where it says that all will come like jesus literally says this all will come because of me that's powerful i don't think we understand the reality of that all will come he didn't just say all christians who go to church at shiloh all will come and so there's things that we don't even understand and we're not even sure of but in our relationship with the lord you and i have something where we can go and ask them about these mysteries about these things about this and bring comfort to our soul and for those around us and so getting it get in it it's going to be a it's going to be a good day well one more thing i want to do today he doesn't know we're going to do this but we're going to celebrate him because today is his birthday micah jack come on up here buddy would you uh welcome michael jack as he comes on up here [Music] i didn't have time to buy cake for everyone but we bought cake for you come on over here i'm gonna go on this side okay that's fine you're like oh you get your good side got it got it so hot how old are you today i'm 17. 17 years old so if you notice micah jack playing guitar up there and listen if if september is a birthday month for you we're going to celebrate you two in a moment but i just want to share my heart about this kid right here you know his dad's going through a hard run right now too you know and we're believing and we know that god's going to do something amazing in the in the life of leo shashmanian and so we're just standing and believing but today is birthday and so i just wanted my heart is to take some time aside to celebrate the good things of life too and micah jack's birthday is today and this is a good thing so to andy and leo and chloe and everybody else watching the whole family thank you [Laughter] thanks for sending him in and we're going to celebrate him well today he is going to be loved on and he's going to be celebrated in fact i know that you're having a party later on today with your friends that that's being hosted and it's lavishly hosted and so you're being loved on really good today so that's going to be amazing but i just thought you know so proud of him and the way he's standing for in his faith in believing uh with with the family for his father and all the things that are happening in this young man's life this guy's going places and uh you know he was uh up here playing guitar today how many of you enjoyed watching him up there play guitar what an awesome dude and so we just want to celebrate you so we're all going to sing happy birthday to you but we're
