Patricia King: Activating Your Prophetic Gift

I want to pray for you today to be activated in your prophetic gift and I realize that some of you might have never prophesied before but you're going to and some of you are very mature in the prophetic but I believe that no matter how mature we are we can increase all the more you know the gift of prophecy is one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit that was given to the church and when you have the Holy Spirit in you you have those nine gifts there as gifts and so it's a matter of learning how to activate them by faith I had a mentor in the gifts of the Spirit named Mary Goddard she's gone on to glory now but she was one of the most fantastic teachers and the greatest mentor that I could have ever asked for in the activation of the gifts of the Spirit in fact I have her original teachings that we've transferred over onto CD format or mp3 format that you can purchase online it's called the gifts of the Spirit by Mary Goddard that is my mentor it's a huge mass of course but I tell you if you saturate yourself in that teaching you'll never be the same I was just thinking about my days of being mentored and the gifts of the Spirit a while ago and I thought I need to realism to those original teachings because they brought so much life to me in fact I remember being in sessions with Mary Goddard where it was like almost like I was sitting at the feet of Jesus and he was speaking through her so you can purchase those on our online bookstore called the gifts of the Holy Spirit by Mary Goddard I think there's about 25 or 30 lessons and they it is probably the best teaching and the most the most intense or the most detailed teaching on the gifts of the Spirit that you'll probably ever receive but what I love is that there's a spirit of faith on the inside of them that just ignites you I have another tool that might help you also and it's our books on eyes at sea and ears that are here that I wrote and also hearing the voice of God it's a CD set or CD tape that you might be able to enjoy also it might help you as you're growing in prophetic utterance and discernment but anyways let's look at first Corinthians 14 verse 1 it says pursue love yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts but especially that you may prophesy I remember when I was sitting in Mary God is teaching and she taught us this scripture and I looked at it and I thought wow and to pursue love that's my greatest aim but I'm to earnestly desire spiritual gifts and especially the prophetic and that it just unlocked something on the inside I'm allowed to desire the gifts of the Holy Spirit I'm allowed to want to bless people with these awesome gifts and I was electrified by this Scripture and I want you to know that the Spirit of God wants you to pursue love more than anything because the gifts of the Spirit are an expression of the love of God but in that love earnestly desire or covet is another word that one of the translations uses covet earnestly all those spiritual gifts and especially the prophetic go after it and so they're all available all the spiritual blessings in the heavenly places are already available to you it's just a matter of receiving them by faith I would encourage you to get some good instruction on the gifts of the Spirit and on the prophetic on hearing the voice of God and seeing with your spiritual vision get good instruction but don't just sit and get instruction do the stuff activate your gift I believe that many of you are going to increase in the usage of the gift of prophecy in this next little while and some of you have never prophesied are going to start prophesying I'm going to pray that for you right now one of the things that you can do to increase in your prophetic gift is to prophesy over more people I remember one time when I started doing prophetic presbytery and this church pastor kept bringing me more and more people and we sat there for 4 hours every 15 minutes we were prophesying over someone else for 4 hours non-stop by the time I got into the second hour the prophecies we're coming like this because you kind of get into a prophetic current so I just want to encourage you if you want to grow in the prophetic then prophesy Lots okay let me pray for you right now father in the name of Jesus Christ I ask that you would bless each of my friends who's watching this clip with an acceleration of prophetic grace grace to prophesy grace to exercise all the gifts of the Holy Spirit I pray that you would unlock them in their hearts into new realms of knowing you and hearing your voice and declaring your voice and Lord it will be as easy as breathing for them and for those that have already been prophesying that you would accelerate them with greater provision precision than they've ever known before in Jesus name hallelujah well I'm excited for you and I believe that you are going to I'm actually getting a word of knowledge right now for someone who you were taught on the gifts of the Spirit years ago and you were in this group in your church so it was so excited and church leadership kind of came down on you though and so you you you kind of pulled back and then after a while because of circumstances that it happened in your life you just even shut down the Lord now you've come back to the Lord but you kind of shut down all that you know gives to the Holy Spirit part of you and the Lord says he's going to stir it back up oh yeah I'm seeing this right now God's landing on you big time right now you're you're just feeling the quickening you're thinking that's me that's me yes that's you now in the name of Jesus rise up and go for it again in Jesus name again I want to offer those of you that are interested in more teaching to go online to our
