we talked in the last couple weeks about our identity in christ and it's really christ's identity in us we've now become one with him the bible says if anyone is born again our spirit is one with the lord we are a new creation old things are passed away now i know you've heard that before how many of us believe it our sins are washed away we're new creations we're supernatural now in christ ii corinthians chapter 5 paul writes therefore from now on we regard no one according to the flesh even though we've known christ according to the flesh yet we now know him thus no longer if anyone is in christ he is a new creation you are not a normal person you're a supernatural god person not by your works but by what jesus christ did for us being born again you're now supernatural christ lives in you it says you're a new creation old things have passed away behold all things have become new please let me tell you one more time who you are and who christ is in you you can't hear this too much you are the object of god's love that's a reality you are loved by god john first john 3 says behold what manner of love one commentary says that that phrase in the greek means how foreign and unearthly is this kind of love it's out of this planet he said what kind of love what manner of love that the father has bestowed on us that we should be called children of god his offspring children in his family his other creation aren't that you are he was predestined you were chosen before you were born before you did anything good or bad the bible says you were chosen by god ephesians chapter one verse three through seven are some four of the most potent verses in the bible telling us what christ has done for us blessed be the god and father of our lord jesus christ who has past tense he has already blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in christ jesus it's yours every that means everything that we need he's already given it to us ii peter chapter 1 says all things that pertain to life and godliness have been given to us through the knowledge of christ it says every spiritual blessing in the heavenly place in christ just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world we were chosen to be in christ and christ to be in us before you were formed in the womb god knew you he knew you before you were formed in the womb that's why none of our failures sins mistakes blunders are a surprise to god he already had us covered because revelation says in chapter 13 he was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world so before we messed up god covered us he knew you before you were born he ordained you he chose you to be in christ before the foundation of the world you did not come to christ on your own no one can jesus said nobody comes to me unless my father draws him so the fact that you wanted to get saved is proof that you were chosen by god [Laughter] and here's what he called us to not only to be in him but that we should be holy h-o-l-y that means pure it says without blame how many know that's going to be a miracle it is a miracle is doing it when he's done with you you're going to look just like jesus how glorious is that and for the ages to come you'll abide in him and be one with him so he said god chose us to be holy and without blame before him how in love the bible teaches us that when we increase and abound in love in god's eyes we become blameless romans chapter 13 says the love is the fulfillment of the law someone said well we don't need to fulfill the law no not we don't not in the natural but by the spirit romans chapter 8 says that the righteous requirement of the law would be fulfilled in us who walk according to the spirit what does that mean do we have to go back under the law no we're in the spirit but when we walk in love it says in romans 13 love does no harm to its neighbor therefore love is the fulfillment of the law so our redemption in christ to be blameless and holy means we're established in love because love is the fulfillment of all righteousness come on somebody love is where god's power is hidden love is where all the gifts of the holy spirit are hidden love is is when we abide in love we abide in god if we love one another god dwells among us so god chose us to be holy without blame in love love is what's holy are you ready having predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters by jesus christ to himself the word adoption is weopia it doesn't mean like we think today where we sign papers and we bring an infant baby home and we adopted them it does mean brought into the family but this word we officia means to be placed as a fully mature son or daughter in god's kingdom and given authority over the father's business that's what we ophesia means they translated it adoption it means to be placed as a mature son or daughter over the kingdom business it means you get the checkbook and the keys and because the father trusts you to do his will that's what we're predestined to it's what happened to jesus when he was 30 years old and he went into the river jordan was baptized in heaven opened up and god said this is my beloved son and whom i well please he was being wheel thesia placed as a son over the father's business that's what you and i are predestined to come on as sons and daughters according to the good pleasure of his will it is the father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom to the praise of the glory of his grace that's how it's all going to happen by grace to the praise the glory of his grace by which he's made us accepted in the beloved because of what jesus did on the cross father says i receive you i accept you because of what jesus did for in him we have redemption through his blood the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace i just read only four verses from ephesians chapter one that's enough to feast on for a month you are a new creation in christ and christ himself lives in you i had a prophetic experience in the night in 2011 powerful experience where in the dream a prophet called me i won't say his name he's in heaven now a well-known prophet he's ministered here before if i said his name he'd known all over the world and in a dream he called me on the phone and i knew that call that interpreting the dream when you get a dream with a phone call a lot of times it has to do with your calling and he began to tell me on the phone that everything in my life from the time i was very small up until now i'm 64 years old i don't feel a day over 63. and um isn't god good and now i feel better than that i feel a lot better than that but he was telling me and what he's telling me is good for you that everything in my life even pastoring for 29 years even all our mistakes the good the bad the ugly all of it he said was training for a release of his spirit coming on the earth that would be unprecedented unprecedented no one's going to ask is there a move of god everybody's going to know he said this unprecedented move of god and then he said and when it starts it will last for a period of 11 years when he said that i sat straight up in bed wine awake looked at the clock like i always do when i wake up out of a prophetic experience tonight i always look at the clock and it was 1 27 am and the holy spirit said in my heart this will be the ministry of colossians 1 27 christ in you the hope of glory it's not going to be about us it's going to be about christ in us and i was so encouraged to hear recently a word from the lord about that kevin zadai had a five and a half hour face-to-face visitation with the lord jesus the lord told him that if i remember correctly somebody correct me toward the end of this year beginning of next year we're going to see the glory realm start manifesting on the earth and here's what he said and then he said the lord talked to me i was told this back in 2011 that when the glory comes it's going to last for a period of 11 years i don't know what's after that is it going to be the second coming i don't know but i was just total 11 years anyway kevin's 8 i said the glory's about to come and then the lord talked to me about the next 11 years come on somebody we're there we're there it's time it's time for us to put off the old man and walk in the new darkness is covering the earth gross darkness is covering the people it's time for us to rise up and let the light of christ shine through the church through you christ is in you if christ is in you that means any gift of the holy spirit can manifest through you if christ is in you that means if he can walk on water you can no it's not at our initiation it's as he initiates but if christ is in us there's no limit there's no limit so let me remind you who you are first corinthians 1 9 said god is faithful by whom you were called into fellowship with the lord jesus christ the same way jesus and the father communed were called into that same fellowship first corinthians 6 17 says you are united with god your spirit is one with god's spirit that's not future it's not something you're trying to get to it's a reality right now your spirit your spirit man is one with god he's in there christ is in you you are a member of christ's body i'll never forget hearing bad i think it was 1982 and i heard t.l osborn speak in person in riverside california and ron halverson's church i had the best seat in the house because i had been told by the holy spirit never to go to the meeting the lord said go to the meeting i have something i'm going to impart to you and i prayed lord give me a good seat got there an hour late the building was packed there's an overflow room that said there's no empty seats you've got to stand out in the overflow room but i'd prayed on the way there i said lord i'm believing for a seat up front because you told me i'm going to receive something from the tia osborne i walked up to the front row the me his plane was late so all these hundreds of people have been sitting there waiting for the meeting he says plane was an hour late no meeting just sitting there i walked up to the front of the church on the front row it's one of those churches where he wears ties and suits and everything dress is nice and i walk the front row and everything's packed there's people in the aisles overflow room they're trying to get people out of the building they're breaking fire code i walked up to the very front row and right smack in the middle of the front row right in front of the pulpit was one empty seat and i thought man they've been waiting here for an hour so i asked the person on this side i said are you saving the seat for someone he said no i said is that the pastor's seat they said no i said has anybody been sitting there for the last hour they said nope so i asked the person on this side is this are you saving the seat for someone they said no so i sat down i had the best seat in the house i came with i was single back then i came with four of my roommates all the christian guys we all live in the house together and i turned around and waved to them in the back they were about that big in the back and i never forget when t.l osborne walked out he was so full of the holy spirit his eyes looked like pilate lights christ was shining out of it here's what he said he was talking about christ in us and in his meeting peter omakanji had god saved i'm not going to tell that whole story peter was a beggar for 23 years he begged he he was paralyzed from the waist down he just scooted around on his hands but he was healed in that meeting and he stood up and he was walking as t.i was preaching he said everybody wants to say i wish i lived back in the first century or i was with the apostles and i could have seen jesus in the flesh here's what t.l said he said do you want to see jesus in the flesh he said look at me he said he's in my flesh he said do you want to see what jesus looks like in africa he said i told him look at peter omakanzi he said that's what jesus looks like in africa because as members of his body where we go he goes but but what we have to learn is how to align with him so that he comes out that's what we're going to talk about today sonship walking as sons and daughters of the most high god in christ we are redeemed and forgiven god calls us saints you are complete colossians 2 10. you're complete we're not lacking anything we're completing him somebody say i'm complete in christ in christ you and i are free from condemnation second corinthians 1 21 you are anointed you're sealed by the holy spirit these are realities but they only become manifested when we believe them you've been given us not a spirit of fear but of love power and a sound mind you are god's co-worker second corinthians 6 1. you are now i can't explain this but i can proclaim it you and i are seated right now in the heavenly places and how can that be i don't know but it's the truth we're there jesus told nicodemus he's talking with nicodemus he said nobody's been up to heaven nobody's come down except the son of man who's in heaven that's what he said he's talking to nicodemus he said nobody's there except me i'm here and i'm also in heaven now we're in christ we're here we're also there well look it up and read it for yourself we have direct access to god ephesians 2 18 all of us by one spirit have access to the father we're invited continually to come boldly to the throne of grace hebrews 4 romans 8 said if god did not spare his son but he gave him up for the sake of us all when we were unrepentant and in sin god gave his son for us how will he not with him also freely give us every good thing come on somebody you are assured of the presence of god he said he'll never leave you or forsake you philippians 2 says god is working inside you right now to will and to do of his good pleasure aren't you glad you got saved aren't you glad christ is in you aren't you glad you're a new creature that god is for you that he's that there's no condemnation in christ that he's inside you he's working to will and to do of his good pleasure that god talks to you you're his sheep and you do hear his voice people say i don't hear god yes you do don't call god a liar you're a sheep he said you do hear him the problem is people are trying to listen for a voice when god communicates oftentimes through knowings it's spirit to spirit he does talk to you you know he does you're driving home and you get this funny feeling i think i need to stop and get milk but it doesn't come from your head it comes from the spirit and you think now we already have no you got to get so you pull over and you get milk and you walk in the door and your wife says honey can you stop and get milk we have unexpected guests he said i already got it i'm a son of god led by the holy spirit many had that happen or you get a check don't go there it's not a word it's a knowing you're his sheep he talks to you now i just want to remind you who you are and who christ is in you everybody say this i am not a normal person i'm supernatural i'm not my past my past is washed away i'm brand new today my future is great god has a great future for me listen somebody needs to hear this i don't care how many times you've stumbled i don't care and neither does god you are not your past today's a new day you're new in christ you're brand new in christ the sky's the limit walk in it now we talked about that was our introduction i want to get into today's message we talked about in the last few weeks why there was division in the corinthian church paul because they didn't rightly discern the body of christ they didn't discern who they were and who their neighbor was we can't forget that the people in the body of christ the one next to us the ones around us everything i've just described saved redeemed and dwelt by christ predestined blessed that's who we're dealing with we're relating to sons and daughters of god we're to love one another esteem one another value one another honor one another care for one another forgive one another because we are all sons and daughters of the most high god in training for reigning that's who we are we're in training for reigning so there was division there because they weren't rightly discerning the body then in if you go back into first corinthians chapter 3 there was clicks i'm of paul i'm of apollos and paul said no no no he said he said paul and apollos are nothing he said one plant one water but it's god that gives the increase so they were they were breaking up into sex scct sect and here's what paul said you are behaving like mere men so their division again was paul's correcting them he said you're not a mere man you're sons of god come on somebody say it out loud say i'm not a mere man now somebody's listening to me right now and you haven't surrendered your life to christ i want to tell you right now what god thinks about you he loves you he sent jesus for you and he commands all men everywhere to repent that means change your mind and start believing in jesus you you've got to become obedient to the faith that's what paul said his apostleship was he says his apostleship was to bring all nations to the obedience of the faith in other words when god says he sent his son he commands us to believe that when he said i forgive you i love you he commands us to believe that so if you're here and you or you're watching online or you're hearing this by recording you haven't given your life to christ repent change your mind and start believing in jesus start walking with him start believing him follow him you'll be born again and all the good that god's planned for your life will start to blossom but it will not until you surrender to christ he's the way he's the truth he's the life no one comes to the father except by him you need to surrender to christ if you don't the bible says you're in rebellion and you'll ruin your own life but anyway we talked about not walking according to the natural man not walking as mere men but walking as sons and daughters of of god we also talked about how different things can hinder us we talked about how we can live out of a born-again christian can live out of the flesh is that possible or we can live out of the spirit of christ in us or if we give ourselves over to the flesh and we stay there we can get demonically inspired we could christians can live out of the demonic realm so the choice of where we walk is up to us and today we want to talk about the sons of god how to walk in the spirit we talked about some of the hindrances to walking in the spirit we see god is love if we abide in love we abide in him and he abides in us we talked about passing judgment and in the old man the natural part of us were experts at judging come on somebody tell the truth we don't even have to learn how we're good at it you know how funny mark smith is he's he's actually on vacation now he told me he was being funny he said i can tell if someone's judgmental by just looking at them [Laughter] now we talked about when we now what we talked about the bible says judge righteous judgment but not unrighteous so righteous judgment is something like this the trash didn't get taken out so righteous judgments just could say the trash should have been taken out unrighteous judgment is they didn't take the trash out because they're mad at me or they didn't take the trash out because they're a hater or they didn't take the trash out because they're lazy or they didn't take the trash out because they're a republican or whatever it is see it's when we attach motives to it that we pass judgment in our heart when now please hear this when now we are we're all good at this we're so good at it we don't even know we're doing it we don't even know we could pass judgment 20 times a day and never even recognize it we need the holy spirit to help filter our thoughts so that we can stop that because here's what happens when we judge someone it's very very hard to love them we've got to get free of judgment to love that's why we love our pets that's why we love our dogs they don't judge us you can be have a bad mood to your dog and he won't remember it the next time you walk in the house he comes wagging his tail happy to see you but if it's a person they'll go the other way isn't that true the dog will come and snuggle with you even though you were rude to it yesterday they love us unconditionally that's why we love them somebody had a bumper sticker and said god i want to become the person my dog thinks i am we should learn to love as good as our dogs do they don't hold grudges they don't judge us anyway we talked about that let me get on to today's message when we judge it it can cause bitterness to get in our soul we can get resentment and bitterness and when they lodge in our soul they can even be there and we may not even really realize it but it prevents us from loving how do you know if you have bitterness if you can go back to the memory and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth if you can go back to a bad memory and laugh about it or shrug it off like there's no then you can be free from it but if we allow bitterness resentment unforgiveness we become bitter and then hebrews says the root of bitterness defiles many when we're bitter we defile other people with our words and then they pick up on our bitterness and they become defiled so the person we're judging we share it and then they judge them so now i'm defiled you're defiled so he said don't do that we've got to overcome it now we're going to talk about how to overcome that because i know there's not a one of us who hasn't ever had to deal with that in our own heart am i talking to anybody today all right we're going to talk about the sons of god if you have your bible open to roman chapter 8 we're going to read 21 verses and in here paul is going to give us wisdom revelation and insight how to walk in the spirit as the manifest sons and daughters of god romans chapter 8 verse 1. there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in christ jesus who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit aren't you glad there's no condemnation in christ verse 2 for the law of the spirit of life in christ jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death what law is that it's the law of faith in romans paul talks about faith we're justified by faith we're sanctified by faith when we put our trust in jesus we're set free from the law of sin and death come on somebody okay that law has set us free for what the law could not do and that it was weak through the flesh god did by sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh on account of sin he condemned sin in the flesh so god said jesus he judged jesus although jesus was innocent he paid the debt for our sin why verse 4 that the righteous requirement of the law is would be might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit if you go to romans chapter 13 verse 8 it tells us what that fulfillment of law is it's love so god condemned jesus on the cross paid our sin debt and then when jesus rose again his spirit when we're born again comes to live inside us by christ in us that's the hope of glory by christ in us we can fulfill the law of righteousness which is love so because christ is in us we can love because he's in us we can forgive because he's in us we can overcome bitterness because he's in us we can go the second mile turn the other cheek because christ is in us we can be lifted up above sin and walk in love that's the liberty of the sons of god we're not trying to fulfill the law we're just going to follow the holy spirit when we follow the spirit he leads us into the liberty the sons of god which is love which is the fulfillment of the law amen he said for those who live according here it is if you write in your bible this might be a good time this is a secret those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh those who live according to the spirit the things of the spirit there is the key right there to walk in the spirit our minds have to be set on the things of the word of god of jesus of love of the holy spirit of the kingdom colossians chapter 3 which we saw last week the first thing he says in chapter 3 is set your minds set your affections in the heavenly places where christ is now that doesn't necessarily mean physically above on the things above the spirit of the kingdom of god is a higher realm than the natural so he's saying set your mind there philippians chapter 4 paul says whatever things are true lovely of good report virtuous noble praiseworthy think on these things why as a man thinks he is so what he's saying is and we're going to see later in the chapter these are the sons and daughters of god whose mind is on the things of the spirit because god made us this way whatever we think about we become whatever we think about we end up doing if i was to give if someone would give me a brand new 2021 catalog of the newest pearl white lexus and i kept it by my bed and looked at it every day it won't be long until i'm buying one how many have ever done something like that you know if you that's why when we go shopping we tell our wives don't look don't look over there because what we look at we think about and when we start thinking about it we gravitate toward it we become it so he said those whose minds are on the things of the spirit they walk in the spirit so the secret to walking in the spirit is not to try to put the flesh down as much as it is to put your mind on the lord and on the things of the spirit and he said those who carnally minded to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace for the carnal mind is the enmity against god it's not subject to the law of god nor indeed can it be so then those who are in the flesh cannot please god so to walk in the spirit is where we put our mind in other words let's say every one of us has been everyone has probably numerous times we've all been hurt by somebody and if we're all honest we've all hurt somebody truth now watch where we put our mind determines how we're going to walk he said the carnal mind now if i think about that hurt and i rehearse it and i nurse it and i think about it again how wrong it was how unjust it was if i think about it you know what's going to be stirred up in my flesh anger vindictiveness grudges unforgiveness so people think about that all the time and then say how come i can't forgive because it's what you think about all the time so here's so when we put on christ it says in colossians put on christ put on tender mercies forgiving one another in christ as god has forgiven you put it on so we change our mind and say you catch your mind thinking about something negative stop your mind see i'm not going to think about that what do i think about what's lovely what's true what's a good report what's virtuous i want to think about tender now let me look at the situation with tender mercies kindness forgive as christ forgave let's think about it start thinking about that think about forgive as christ forgave how does he forgive me when he forgives me he forgets not because he has a bad memory because he loves me he puts it out of his mind so if i'm going to forgive like christ dude i forgive and then i also forget so when it comes back i said no you can't be here my mind is on the things of the kingdom and that's how we walk in the spirit by renewing our mind it's our thoughts it's becoming aware of our thoughts bringing every thought captive to the obedience of christ that's where the strongholds are not out there yeah there's spirits out there but they can't touch us unless we have an opening here so when we are agreeing here with them then they can oppress us but when our mind is renewed then we can say like jesus he can come if he wants there's no place in me so he said to be carnally minded as death to be spiritually minded is life and peace so the life and peace we can all walk in we can walk in our inheritance as sons and daughters of god if we'll make up our mind i'm done with carnal thinking and we have to put some effort into renewing our mind to the things of christ now watch he said verse 9 but you are not in the flesh but you're in the spirit if indeed the spirit of god dwells in you now if anyone does not have the spirit of christ he's not of his and if christ is in you the body's dead because of sin but the spirit is life because of righteousness but if the spirit of him who raised jesus from the dead dwells in you he erased christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who dwells in you so what he's saying is our bodies are dying because of sin but the spirit of god gives us life and if he lives inside us his spirit will give life to our mortal bodies therefore verse 12 we are debtors not to the flesh to live according to the flesh for if you and i want to say this if a christian lives according to the flesh they will die but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live we cannot put to death the deeds of the body but it has to happen by the spirit and the way we walk in the spirit is change our mind change our thinking if we don't change our thinking and we keep trying to fight against the flesh we'll have an ongoing losing battle forever it's change your mind change your mind i am forgiven i am loved christ does forgive me my past is gone i'm a new creature i'm seated with him in the heavenlies change your mind believe that i can do all things through christ who strengthens me god is with me god's future for me is good not for evil change your mind believe that it'll change the way you think the way you walk for as many as lead now watch many as are led by the spirit of god these are the sons of god now please hear this it it all comes down to one thing as a born-again believer with christ in us we're new creatures it comes down to one thing hour by hour day by day discerning thoughts am i going to walk is that thought from flesh from the holy spirit or demonic a lot of times flesh and demonic agree so is it from the dark side or is it from the kingdom where is it from now i want to say this to you you're his sheep god will all you got to do is when thoughts come just ask the lord lord where's that thought from is that from you and you'll hear you'll hear it in your spirit instantly nope it's not for me the next question you ask him lord what are your thoughts this is the sons and daughters of god they're tuned in to christ within they're they're renewing their mind to the word of god and they're discerning thoughts and catching them and bringing them captive to christ everybody can do that and when your mind changes your whole life changes i said as many as are led by the spirit so we have one thing it's not complicated to walk as a son or daughter of god it's not complicated we have one thing to do discern the holy spirit and follow him can everybody say that with me discern the holy spirit hour by hour and follow him these are the sons of god now that word son is huios in the new testament there's four greek words that are translated son napios potion technon and weiss and they generally relate to infant toddler teenager fully mature adult who gets the car keys the checkbook and the authority okay that one's huios so it says they that are led by the holy spirit these are the wealth mature overcomer sons of god come on somebody now you can do this everybody can do it you're a brand new christian you can do it so i don't hear the lord's voice yes you did that's how you got saved nobody can get saved unless the holy spirit speaks to their heart that jesus is lord so it's the knowings that are imparted into our spirit we know what's right and wrong we know to follow the you know you start to go this way and you get it in your spirit back out just say holy spirit what's your leading you know uh earlier this year i was supposed to be in a conference in australia his brother sadhu and mark johnson and these others i was looking forward to going i was looking forward to being with my friends and ministering in a conference there i'm several weeks before i'm online i'm about to buy the plane ticket i found a good ticket for blind and i and i was just about to hit by and i got it don't go i said why lord what's up he said you need to be here he said okay i i just canceled it i wrote it i knew it was holy spirit i had no earthly idea why that amazing and so i said i'm very sorry i can't come why i said i just need to be here i didn't know why she said you need to be here and of course that was maybe i think that was maybe a month or two ahead of when i was going to be gone i was going to buy the ticket sure enough that week something came up in my family where i was desperately needed to be here i had no idea but the holy spirit gave me a check he said don't do it that's all of us have that all of us have that it's learning to be sensitive and say yes no follow the lord follow his leading these are the mature sons of god there's here's the good news jesus said follow me and i will make you didn't he say that so the transforming the making is him living in us working to will and to do of his good pleasure he transforms us our job is simple listen to the holy spirit follow him now the where we get off when we get into a cul-de-sac we get into problems is when we listen to the accuser the brethren we listen to condemnation we listen to lies from the devil you're no good you're a failure your god doesn't love you you listen to that you're going to end up a mess so these are the we are sons of god verse 15 for you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear but you receive the spirit of adoption by which we cry by whom we cry abba father the spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of god i mean romans 8 verse 17. and if children then heirs you are an heir of god and a joint heir with christ if indeed we suffer that suffering means the things that happen to us as we choose obedience as you obey the holy spirit some people won't be your friends anymore it is what it is how many have had that happen see it just happens but you're an heir of god for i consider that the sufferings of this present time are you following along with me are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in the clouds of glory no it doesn't say that the sufferings are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us that's christ in us the hope of glory so how does it happen by following the spirit keep following it keep following keep following him he will make you transform you and he'll reveal his glory in you we have one thing to do follow him now watch for the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the unveiling the revealing of the sons of god that's what creation is waiting for right now the people that are in the riots don't know it but they're waiting for the church people that are lost right now they don't know it but they're waiting for the church they're waiting for believers to walk and follow the spirit and be transformed inside because the sons of god are going to bring liberty to the earth is what says for the creation was subjected to futility not willingly but because of him who subjected it in hope because the creation itself will also be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of god this is what god's waiting for what the creation is waiting for let me try to close as we walk this way in the spirit having our mind on the things of the spirit then it is the spirit in us that puts to death the deeds of the flesh he didn't say if you put to death the deeds he said if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the flesh the flesh can't put the flesh to death good works can't put the flesh to death but fixing our mind on our identity in christ following the leading of the spirit you know people have come and i've learned this over the years people can come to me and say you know i've got this problem or this addiction or this issue i need to get over this you know we find out i found it out in my own life and in counseling people what you think is the issue is not the issue i'm addicted to cigarettes that's not the issue the issue is you don't have any peace because you're not following the holy spirit that's why you're addicted to cigarettes so you can try all you want to quit smoking and it's not going to happen so we don't fix our mind on that issue that issue that issue we fix our mind on one thing follow the holy spirit do what the word says when you do it he leads you into the liberty of the sons of god the cigarette addiction will fall off without you even trying to overcome cigarettes because you start following jesus and get full of peace and then christ in you breaks that chain the issue is not the issue there's one issue follow jesus follow the holy spirit that's all we need to do this is being led by the spirit these are the sons of god the white house mature sons now let me just try to close by giving us a little summary last week we looked at colossians 3 paul told us the difference between walking in the flesh walking in the spirit and and when we get the word in us paul said how to do it one set our minds in the heavenly places in the things of christ agreed two we have to he says in cost three let the word of christ dwell in you richly then he said so we have to have enough word in us to help us discern between god and not god his word is entrance of his word brings light psalm 119 verse 130. his word is the light and the lamp to our feet and our path so he says let the word of christ dwell in your richly read the bible regularly and you'll be led by the spirit better so here's some of the grid he said in colossians 3. here's the things he's it's clear it's simple put to death he said fornication uncleanness passion lust evil desire covetousness love for money put that to death he said put off anger wrath malice blasphemy i looked up blasphemy it means slander purposely and injuring someone's good reputation filthy language lying those are all the things he said put that off no malice anger slander gossip covetousness uncleanness lust put that off let the word of christ dwelling then he said put on this put on tender mercy kindness humility meekness long suffering bearing with one another forgiving one another and above all put on love and then let the peace of god rule in your heart so we're talking about the sons of god if we have this word in our heart it's easy to say well that's anger put that off well that's gossip put that off this is tender mercy i'm gonna embrace this this is kindness this is long suffering now christ is in us if you took a buddhist who's not born again even though they're well-meaning and they try to put on meekness gentleness kindness they can do the actions but the life of christ is not coming out of them but when we as a new creation when we put on kindness we put on tender mercies when we put now put it on means just put it on you may not feel like it put it on i don't feel like forgiving put it on i don't feel tender mercies put it on see so when we act we put on okay i choose kindness when we do it christ starts coming out of us so he said put this on and christ will come out now there's something that happens when we put it on first peter chapter 2 says that we are purified our soul is purified by sincerely loving the brethren so let's say i don't feel i don't feel merciful i don't feel tender mercies so what put it on god didn't ask if you feel like it he said do it so i said okay i choose i put on kindness i put on tender mercy when you do it christ's kindness starts coming out of you it's supernatural and as it comes out of your heart it starts purifying your heart the more we let god's love come out of our heart the more it changes our soul into the image of christ so we put off what's nasty we put on what's christ we keep our mind in the heavens come on this is the sons and daughters of god we don't accept condemnation we don't listen to hate talk about ourself too many people listen to hate talk about their self i'm ugly i'm no good nobody loves me stop that that's nonsense you're a new creature in christ and don't listen to that talk about anybody else it's from the devil i love this i was this verse has been stuck out to me for weeks paul said his apostleship was for obedience to the faith i've been pondering that god commands us to believe that we're loved he wants us to obey the good news but in other obedience to the faith god does love me i am a new creature i am forgiven christ is with me his angels are around me he's planned out a good future for me if god is with me who could be against me god can love through me god could answer my prayers god will bless people through me we better believe it because there's a big harvest out there and you're needed you're needed god's plan is not to have a few superstar preachers for the harvest his plan is to have all of you be knee-deep into the harvest and have your hands full and that he wants to do the signs and wonders through you he wants to prophesy and heal and cast out demons through you he wants to disciple people through you you're the ones you're the sons and daughters you're the you're the sons and daughters that all creation is groaning for okay i'm really going to close this time obedience to the faith romans 1 5 through him we've received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith that means we believe jesus paid the price we believe we're a new creation we believe god is for us we believe that wherever we walk god walks do you believe that wherever you go jesus goes god hears your prayers all of creation is waiting for you and me to fix our minds on the reality of christ in us and walk in it help us lord may we all repent for allowing the devil to put negative thoughts in our minds and let us agree with it no more we're putting our minds in the spirit because those whose
