[Music] the claymore mine designated the m18 claymore mine it is a directional anti-personnel mine used by the US military and other Allied forces its simplicity and extreme effectiveness is ideal for use by military personnel for aerial denial and setting up ambushes originally designed in 1956 by Norma McLeod and later improved by Aerojet - the design we have today the mine comes in a kit consisting of the mine itself the m57 clacker electric initiator and a spool of wire the mine is detonated simply with an electric blasting cap we recently received an inert claymore via a friend of Sean's that we registered with the ATF as a working claymore while doing so we started to wonder how to effectively reactivate the device we didn't want to use up this one so we thought about cloning the Claymore other nations have done so with and without licensing such as the Soviets and the Chinese so we reached out to our friend jen at texas tactical gear of houston texas to help us 3d print the halls she made us several working halls and we then proceeded to fill them with four millimeter steel shot and plastic explosives once the claymores were done we headed to our test range to test them out howdy folks I'm Sean and welcome another episode of ordnance lab today we're gonna finally get around to do in our 3d printed claymore mine we sure to give a big shout out to Jenn at Texas tactical gear who helped us out if you need any kind of regular firearms or whatnot make sure to hit her up as she can definitely steer you right with a lot of stuff and she's also gonna be working on making a novelty version of this for y'all to get and you can have it for your own use at home as a paperweight what we're gonna do we've got three of these set up we've got two of them we've already prepared where we took some long screws and basically glue them on there so that we'd be able to have it act as a regular claymore stand again this is part of the R&D portion the first one that we did was cut in half because that was what the original way Jen thought would be the best way for us to be able to assemble it but then she figured out a way for us to be able to do it front to back so that's why you're gonna see some difference between them and we're not quite sure how they're gonna perform because this right here you'll see the pictures where whenever we put it in there is we smeared some liquid nail in there and then put the ball bearings in there I'm not sure how that would be a difference or what difference that will be between like a factory Claymore and one that we've made but that's what we're gonna do as part of science we've got rusty Randy he was a co-star of our rescue Randy jumping on the grenade he's gonna continue to serve he's going to be used as a target for this and we've also arranged some boards we have here with wood and the goal is going to be to see what kind of damage we can inflict after we figure out kind of hey what's our patter pattern looking like for how many pieces of wood are they going through we're gonna set up another target with some meat on there to see what would actually perform against flesh so let's clack clack before we o'clock the minds off we had to get the range ready for the test we set up some tea post to hold up plywood barriers to monitor the impacts from the steel shot flying out of the Claymore with the Bears in place we had rescue Randy returned for another test this guy is such a trooper we propped him up about 5 meters away with a steel Kent as his legs are totally gone rescue Randy's gone through several explosions if you watched in the previous videos then we placed a ballistic plate and carrier on him as we are testing this one for another video on armor durability once Randy was ready we prepared the Claymore with an electric blasting cap Sean got into place behind their safety berm then set the Claymore off [Music] [Music] all right so set off our first Claymore you can see some of the damage here this bucket got messed up pretty good this is what we were holding up rescue Randy with rusty Randy actually did pretty good going through it for some reason he didn't get hit by too many of the pebbles or I've sort of the bb's so he kind of got lucky with that if you look at the rest of the board though and you can see where it's peppered we'll hopefully y'all can see it on your screens where it's been peppered by a whole bunch of stuff because the Claymore isn't like a shotgun where you're pointing it at something it's just a throwing a whole bunch of crap out there to see what all gets hit so looking at some of the board's here where the majority of the pellets went through the first board got here to the second board and some of them bounced off but actually a few of them made it through on the other side these have were previously damaged by some other tests we've done of everything from pressure cooker bombs to pipe bombs and such but you can see the damage that it cost by going through they're so extremely powerful explosion and throwing that stuff out there it's not designed to be an armor piercing weapon or anything like that it's more designed to be an anti-personnel weapon but obviously you wouldn't want to be rolling around in your toyota hilux or whatever and getting that thing clacked on you downrange so alright what we're gonna do now is we're gonna do something a little bit different we're gonna wrap the Claymore target we're gonna put a bunch of meat around it and want to give a shout-out to our new friend Frank Fred who helped us out by getting that meat for us at a great price definitely appreciate that to make sure our videos are good so let's move on to the next one for the second part of the test we use the Molotov cocktail target we used in our Molotov cocktail video as the skeleton for our meat man target Shawn managed to get us a ton of expired meat donated for the cause of science that we tied to the metal frame for the record this is gross I don't condone this all right so we did our part with the rescue Randy and with the boards to see what it would do now we're gonna try it with some actual meat we've got our friend Fred who definitely hooked us up on some pricing for the the meat at a local restaurant supply store we really appreciate that we're gonna do is we're gonna set off the Claymore about five meters away to see what it does for the damage now I want to get one thing clear with folks we had some guy in some of the comments section on Facebook saying y'all shouldn't use pork to make them Muslims mad look if you look at a person that says that kind of stuff you think we just do things to offend groups of people because I guess that makes you feel good and your precious little feelings we're not the channel for you we're not gonna pander to stupid people so if you're the kind of person that thought we should have used pork for that to make them Muslims mad please go ahead unsubscribe forget about us and just run plenty of fet bros who will pander to you and say stupid things to make you feel good we're not that channel we're for potty trained adults alright let's get on to blowing some stuff up we got the meat here ready to go we're gonna clack-clack with the Claymore gonna blast it away we'll see what happens we ready to the second Claymore and set it with the same distance of approximately five meters away this time I got to get behind the berm and set the Claymore off quick close the gap [Music] nice alright I'm not sure how much y'all are gonna be a little see on the screen at home but this was extremely impressive for what it did to the meat on here if you look kind of down here you can see just a lot of damage where the ball bearings are the ball just tore it up in there you've got perforations here here here they're just all over again I don't know how much y'all can see it's starting to get dark here but it call us catastrophic debt the catastrophic damage to the meat that's on here it's just all tore to hell and let's see moving around back here so we have some penetration here on the back again I'm not sure if y'all gonna be able to see it we realized after we after the clack-clack that we should have put something behind to show what it did but you've got massive amounts of bleedin down at the bottom and we've got some penetration where it went all the way through and this is about as good of a simulation as meat or of flesh and what not that you'd have for a claymore that you'd be able to get or for for something like this so very impressive and hopefully this was a good demonstration of how what the actual power of the Claymore is just wow by day 3 our trip left us with a ton of rotting meat leaving a strong smell across the demo range we had to dispose of the meat to prevent the ranch from being overrun by coyotes and other unwanted critters so we decided to blow it all up still have one claymore remaining our original plan was to put it on a Roomba and blow it up for it but someone who is on screen with me forgot to bring the Roomba so it's gonna live for another day we were we were gonna set it off because it's Playboy's load up but these are really expensive and plus explosives are not cheap so again hey we appreciate any help we can get on patreon which will help us make stuff Cody with weapon genetics LLC he came out here again hit him up reading your gunsmith and engraven needs we've got our feet right here from that we hit it up with the claymores we started them a bunch of stuff to clear the objective as you normally would do you take all your enemy caching all your enemy items you're gonna blow up put them in the middle of the satchel charge light it and head out we're gonna do similar here we're gonna blow it up with about a pound of high explosives and distribute it out to the environment and let's see what happens gotta feed the Coyotes right yeah exactly [Music] thanks for watching and reminder to our viewers that we are licensed professionals do not try this at home without proper training safeguards or licensing failure to do so can result in legal actions
