Lisa the JOYFUL - Nitro Rad

rest assured this video will not contain any spoilers whatsoever I promise though it'll also contain a lot of the word Lisa okay so y'all probably know by now that my dick this game is rock are Austin Jorgenson you magnificent human being you creatable with my favorite game of 2015 and now you've just finished the DLC so you probably remember the Kickstarter the game had one of the stretch goals was to create a DLC story in which you played as buddy and this you'd uncover more of the mystery of buddy's origin then cover the truth behind the world of Lisa so to clarify this is not a separate game it is in fact DLC you purchase it from a separate Steam page but it does require Lisa the painful RPG in order to play it so if you don't have the game and you buy the DLC you can't you can why would you do that when launching Lisa it'll then prompt you whether you want to play Lisa the painful or Lisa the joyful after beating Lisa for the third time seeing every little bit of content that the game offered every hidden area and dialogue box and the extended ending offered by pain mode I had all these theories running around in my head as to where buddy really came from and why buzz' was doing all these awful things to Brad supposedly all of the answers lie within this DLC so why the am I still talking let's just play the game Lisa the joyful title screen is as morbid as ever Lisa's corpse is now stained with blood with a melancholy pink background taking place of what was once blue so yeah the DLC picks up exactly where Lisa left off and since this is a spoiler free video I I can't really show you that now can I so essentially a bunch of crazy happens and mate you go oh in the DLC you play his buddy who now conceals her identity with a mass belonging to the Rando army it turns out that in her youth Brad taught her how to fight and that in order to survive in this world you'll have to be ruthless so when any time at least is the painful where you thought buddy was being held captive or being abused or something she was really just kicking ass this whole time but he doesn't around she means business dude equipped with a saber she's ready to cut off some heads and take some names well take off names in this case the plot surrounds buddy's quest to eliminate all of the world's most powerful leaders and then become the world's ruler herself well after all if she becomes the strongest person on the planet ain't no one gonna with the only girl no more like Lisa the painful overworld gameplay is all about exploration you'll land in a central area that splits off several paths in this case several paths all lead to the different rulers of the world take them out come back cross the name off the list and search for who's next this is no easy task the bosses in this game our heart is hell and beating them without using joy is going to be a feat and a half having only one character is mostly what makes us really hard as you can't have other party members advancing the fight by attacking while using healing items all in one turn speaking of items they are really scarce and hard to come by in this game do yourself a favor and do not enter the bar without a mask on because if you do the bartender is gonna attack you and killing him means you can no longer purchase items from them this won't totally you over but it'll make your journey a little bit harder that is unless you just want to say it didn't kill the guy and get some exp it's your call but he's a lot more athletic than Brad was holding the shift key will make her run about the same speed the bike would get you and Lisa the painful while running you can jump over gaps this time leaping over two tiles instead of one the DLC is also a lot more lenient with fall damage than least the painful RPG was as you can survive much higher fall so though taking damage than Brad could jumping off the ledge and landing on an enemy will take them out Assassin's Creed style avoiding a confrontation altogether I heard about a couple of issues with the battle with this guy right here if you initiate the battle normally instead of entering it by killing the guy in the right the fight will not be beatable Austin already said he's fixing it so you might not even encounter the issue by the time you're watching this video again it's awesome to know that developer is this on the ball with fixing issues he was with Lisa the painful and he is once again with Lisa the joyful a man you do your job and you do it well unlike the main game you will not have any party members it's just buddy all on her lonesome well I guess you know accept but that won't last long making you all alone combo attacks return but only as long as it's interesting how things are switched up a little bit this time around our protagonist is a TP type character instead of an SP combo user type like last time nice way to keep things fresh most of buddy's special moves all rely on a time button press which is also new I could never land these when I first started playing but it isn't too hard to get good at them with time however given the difficult nature of Lisa the joyful I find a little aggravating that your ability to make these time button presses are what determines whether or not you'll win most fights all of buddy's best attacks use this so if you can't get a timing right you're pretty much I just kind of wish the attack was either easier to land or used a different kind of input to perform I don't know maybe I'm just bad who knows I want to talk about the music for a second the deal see sports not one not two not ten but twenty five new songs expect to hear some familiar samples keeping the musical style similar but a lot of it is really different it's weird as usual but it's sick as hell the battle themes will sample anything you can think of like air horn and trap music and violin in classical singing I really dig the new music a lot it does what it needs to do it makes the boss battles awesome and make some emotional scenes well again expect to have your emotions destroyed and lit on fire and shat on and annihilated one of the bosses which you know I can't show because spoilers made me cry like a baby I seriously haven't been this upset playing a game since I beat the final boss a month or three I remember looking down and seeing tear drops all over my controller and well years from now I'm gonna remember looking down to see tear drops all over my keyboard one thing though Lisa the painful RPG had a really good balance with all the humor I mean like like that game was funny as hell though I find Lisa the joyful really lacks that sense of humor that was present and Lisa the painful and I can't help but the feel takes a little bit away from the charming personality the original game had the dlcs story really ties things together well and it answers all of the questions that were brought up and Lisa the painful and while some people may not like how they blatantly explained everything that was subtly hinted at in the main game it was really satisfying to see that many of my theories did in fact ring true but like that's not to say it's all made too obvious the after credits ending still hits that vague but just bag enough sweet spot giving you an idea of where buddy really came from and what's to come in the world after so as a final verdict I'd say it really hits all of the points I wanted it to everything I wanted to see on full unfolded my only real complaint is that some parts of the game feel way too unforgiving and that was an issue that Lisa the painful didn't really have Lisa the joyful is about give or take four to five hours long longer if you search the world for all the hidden areas just like Lisa the painful it's got great replay value with different choices you can make and lots of different collectibles you can find the DLC is only five dollars so what the are you waiting for just hurry up and get it already Lisa left me wanting more and this is more oh and one more thing Austin I found your little heartfelt note thinking all your fans for the praise and whatnot and I just really want to reiterate how much I want to thank you for creating something this amazing for real like Lisa's quickly grown into one of my favorite games ever made so seriously thank you seriously thank you for giving us a game this awesome and one final last thing you can just off man just get it already Lisa wanted me bluffing more
