album money I'm that's all right that's in the workings as well uh as far as the uh the all right my new artist um putting out a Young Money compilation album with them but um as far as uh me and you know I'm gonna be all over that [ __ ] but it's about them when it comes to that and also working on their solo [ __ ] but you asked me about a day in life of me [ __ ] same [ __ ] every day getting to the waking up and going to sleep in the studio waking up in the studio pissed off I forgot the line I fell asleep too [Music] Lucas still at home huh Lucas still at home you know I didn't even see that question on there no man she said no no no no no no [Music] who are some of your favorite players to watch right now [ __ ] you already know um first first first and foreign [Music] I think that watching Brian not to to watch Brian play now and this was outside my regular season when he was playing it felt um it fairly Centric so I felt like I felt like you know not not not on the last dance and so well you already know okay you noticed the last because then it's not right so it's almost like when you watch like damn it's almost like when you hear them say you ever heard somebody say they went through the the pilot so he went through the whole Bermuda Triangle he went through and then he landed up ended up on the other side skyfree or whatever he went it's kind of like we didn't went through all that and now we just scoffing watching Brian just ah you know this is amazing to me so to watch him play and also um to watch you know the sniper okay I don't like to see him fall out like I'd like to see the end of the how they how they fell off and up and you already know with CP I cried yeah like I know you're over here my text so cause I'm crying brother so you probably won't call me back it's like you got the baddest luck man yeah man he deserve it man shout out CP shout out CP man bro but since we already know what's your take on Josh situation man you know I had a conversation with my homies today because I was looking at I was noticing that I had a few different Generations when I was talking speaking to my artist was in there and uh my artist was in there and got it was in there so I mean what I mean by that is gutter for my generation and my audience I'm sorry my audience younger so I was just asking him I was like um what's the necessity of of what you know what is then I was like what's the necessity part of doing you know doing that what's that what of you know posting yourself saying this is what I look what I'm doing I was like what I mean by that is because I'm trying to fig I'm trying to you know do the cliche put myself in his shoes I understand understand it and I was like so I was like so the best I can do without them answering before they answered that question I told him where I was at with it I said so the best time best time I was like so the best I could do is remember when I was younger and my home my squad y'all my [ __ ] around me when and we we at the age where they don't have money I'm the one with the money you know that means and then I don't even know how much money I'll end up with but I remember with some money in my pocket I know I got a bright future my homies I ain't getting no payroll they my homies they look good when they with me when I go to when I gotta go by stunning them and go to work and all that they gotta go back to being who they got to be you know I mean so without what I said I'm saying that to say damn streets and I was aware that so outside so if I was going through something at that point in time something public like with slime going through as I could imagine the rebel the rebellious attitude I would have if my homies is egging that attitude on right you know I mean I I like to work and also I was like well they also need to understand well we also need to understand is we don't know what's talking about this like that it's not not we I don't know this for a fact but just in a lot of situations like this when we all talking about it the actual person and the people we talking about they actually they purposely stay away from this they stay away from all this we're saying they stay away from hearing this and they got people that are protect them from that's gonna hear her form and gonna protect them from hearing it so what I mean by that is if I had something going on in the public that you know is negative about me so it's hard for the message to get through right you know I mean it's hard for the message all these you know you got people looking dead in the cameras on TV like man I'm talking to you John I mean like it's hard for the message to get through man when you because I'm the breadwinner I wish a [ __ ] would tell me something I mean I wish a [ __ ] would it's almost like I look at it like Zion how you keep begging him to lose weight get in better shape and this that a I wish a [ __ ] would tell me something right not much money I got boy like just like this just like this Nate I wish a [ __ ] [ __ ] what tread man what what and that's what I'm saying I'm like so I had to ask myself what's the necessity I mean because I like so with that said I was to answer that question if I was asked at that time so it was a necessity to you being so rebellious right now you know I mean I was like my only answer would have been is because I didn't I don't even want to hear the truth I don't want to hear what y'all think the truth is and the facts my truth is my truth and you know I'm this is what the week I come from this and I come from that and I got I got my 12 jurors that's that's okay you know what I mean and so so when I asked myself so what's the missile like so what's the necessity I said it's because I could imagine if I would have did it at that time my answer would have been to show y'all don't know who I'm y'all don't know who I got problems with y'all only know this y'all only know the me that y'all know you know I mean the pub I know the rapper or whatever whatever but [ __ ] we're in these streets and I need them [ __ ] to know every time I need them needs to know and I ain't on that quarter when I ain't on that stage is on me and that's probably like that'll be my answer for why I like that if my mama probably had to ask me in real life at that time why are you doing that and I had to give her a real answer like that I like I'm trying to understand like maybe that would be my only answer that makes sense to me and I would hope she would still tell me boy are you tripping right you know what I mean but outside but they didn't have you know they was like there's like tune that's the answer for [ __ ] who really in the streets right you know what I mean and I was like before you say that I like don't fall into that trap that these people doing on TV saying cause he ain't no Thug ain't in the street ain't about that you know can you do your on that how y'all know you don't want y'all know that boy do y'all know that boy because I don't I know from Duncan and jumping and I only started knowing when I started paying attention time running last year last year of college you come from like a town with three thousand people I'm like what three thousand people you expect them to be responsible now we tripping then now we trip we expect him to be here that's Magic because I could tell you I come from a real well-raised beautiful mother nice one you know I mean my mama but I had to make sure everything around me was nice and I still was a knucklehead I shot myself now I mean so so if you expect them in that young man from a three I could imagine if I came from [ __ ] what I played with three thousand people and yet and I became who I am but yeah I think that was okay they had social media when I was 23 I wouldn't have made it well I think oh yeah thank God I think that was a good question you asked your youngest artist though because we don't know what it's like to grow up with the with the phone in our face that's what happened you know what I mean like it's there in this and so what I said what I said I said I didn't say they came up with no answer for why you know you know I mean when I told him let's just not say he just he not that because we don't know that I like so so what that said so they were like to answer well they were like so to answer your question since we don't know that of him I'll ask you they're like we'll answer you or what we do know we do know he plays basketball you play real [ __ ] good you know what I mean he's like but we don't know is if he's that great of a [ __ ] gangster you know I mean he's that great of a damn basketball player he's not a smart one we know that we don't know if he's that's not great over you know what I mean or whatever else you've been um now you know I just like I said I just finished watching that [ __ ] we don't know he that great as being terrible Terry but we know I wasn't talking about me I was talking about Hulk Hogan well you know I would take another technique I was like whoa boy if I end up with a wife and she go boy she gonna have to deal with that one yeah that was a little weak that was Wheezy yeah that was not the one that was not yeah hold on we're gonna have to get this straight because now that man said pause but that man said no I'm serious my my penis is not 10. [Laughter] fair enough [Laughter] I mean you're on record talking about Jay and Missy with some of your influences anyone else in other genres that influenced you on your way up because I mean it's been a long way up you you your longevity is speaks for itself but any other influences we might not think would Inspire Someone Like You Anita Baker yeah I need a Bake Off Top um Timeless she inspired me to uh stop um rapping for the times and make sure my letters were Timeless you know because I would always wonder like why the hell I'm Lucas I always still to this day I have to listen to before the show I still get my dumb stupid [ __ ] ass butterflies I gotta let that [ __ ] really hurt so without a [ __ ] named it butterflies like you make a [ __ ] hate because if that's how [ __ ] butterfly beautiful butterflies feel the way that pain feels I [ __ ] hate butterfly so you know so you know what that really is right what yeah United nerves you're just anxious about being great oh yeah I know I know and I always tell myself what that said I tell myself I told my artist so I tell them uh you know Comfort is some people say the first time but Comfort is a sign of death you're not missing I'll be like why you get so [ __ ] uncomfortable like being uncomfortable because I might kill that [ __ ] uh any other artists though you looked up to um as far as rappers uh no any any genre of music that inspires me Anita you got um I looked up to um like he says some intro you know unique people so it would be like people like I would listen to a lot of Lenny Wilkins and Miss Betty right and I would listen to them for it's almost like uh you know some people some religions got like 30 guys they pray to I pray for this when I'm smoking too much people listen to him you know what I mean so like I listened to Miss Betty and um Lenny they fell in the category of me listening to them knowing how to make the transition of talking into going back into your song Your Song and then because they would have one song on it I don't know there's like seven minutes and it's because they sung it and then they start in the middle of it they did a whole story that you know you literally not as word for word the story like you and I want to learn that how you do that you know I mean like how do you make that transition I thought juvenile did it real well and I thought he asked actually knew how to master making his regular conversation a song I mean like that's you that bad huh yeah like that [ __ ] master that [ __ ] right I mean so that's another thing like that so as far as rappers it was all Jay um you've been making a lot of money for a long time what does that do to a young man I mean obviously the world is throwing at you fast but you've been making money since she was a young young teenager how did that kind of shape you and what habits did you have or have to break as you continue to mature uh first I would have to I'll have to give all thanks and all that to my mom watching my mom before I had a dime you know just watching her how she got money and what she did when she got money how she handle money and treat them but just things like watching her that taught me a whole lot I mean so she kept me that made me responsible from the first day and also been grateful and being thankful for it so meaning you give me I wasn't ex I never expected anything and also you know he can also attach you I love the I love to [ __ ] rap so you about to pay me to do this [ __ ] so you know what I mean so and I was so young and so my first check came I went straight to her I couldn't even cat what kind of old enough right it's not even remember my name and it says her name so and her I thought she was gonna you know use it for bills or whatever and she gave it right back and like all right buddy keep your money and she's like what you want with it and someone bought a Pathfinder because New Jersey Drive had just came out I thought them called the pad they were stealing a bunch of Pathfinders I thought that was dope someone got a Pathfinder and that's the way she was the moment we got all the when the big money came in I gave it you know it went straight to her she would give it right back like I don't need nothing but that right there just a humble her humility in that in those moments when you know you need it you know what I mean like how humility in those moments taught me to be the same way so and it's still to this day I don't you know I mean so much so to uh I have actually never strategically I've never strategically set out to make a dollar yet anyways but I have never once said man listen I need to do this forever we need to get better it's just still to this day I still treat it as a all of a it's all a blessing that's why he'd be coming in too uh you spoke recently on Mental Health uh health and the struggles and how it impacted you at a young age what would be your message to anyone that is that is struggling with mental illness right now and and kind of keeping it bottled up that's the last thing you should just keep it bottled up regardless and these days are different man you got so many I say that to say you got so many outlets you know I mean back there we couldn't just find an app or somebody you know what I mean we couldn't do that we couldn't text we couldn't you know what I mean but so it was yeah we really couldn't even speak speak on it yeah it was just crazy it was like speaking on somebody to Central situations that you could speak on now that you wouldn't get a little crazy there so with that said if you are going through any type of mental stress the last thing to do is keep it to yourself eventually you know I mean that doesn't mean go speak to someone else if because if that's if you can't accomplish that sometimes you literally can't do that but figure out a way to get it out and make sure it's not negative try your hardest you know what I mean would you figure out a way to get it out for some kind of way and that's I resorted to the pen and pad I mean you gotta figure it out debut album The Block is Hot 99. what was your mind frame when that walled up when it was all that was popping off when you popped up with the first album it was working he was just an animal yeah it was you know when I say it worked too I don't mean like nine to five work I mean like school work it was and I was learning I was in the house the house still the youngest of the Cowboys group it was it was that we already had a procedure you know we put we put the High boys out of them out Juvia album come out solo album come out first BG so that I would come out a second waiting in Turkey y'all gotta see whatever Buzz gonna go we're gonna go with y'all I hit it up there so you know I mean it was procedure like it was just okay mind coming out and just I remember you know the procedure was thank God the procedure was everybody who Adam came out they went platinum in within the first month and all this and so that was a little you know I mean you like [ __ ] I don't know if I'm gonna do all that when it's my turn and when I came out thank God and so you know I was just happy to keep the procedure going that's all what kind of stuff do you learn from people like uh juvie and BG in that process you're seeing greatness and friends like us playing with a Cove at a young age or something like you're seeing greatness in front of you what kind of stuff did you soak up from them from juvie straight up um juvent knew how to separate it you know how to separate with that because you would he would travel with an Entourage like this because you really came from the projects and so he wanted to help bury them about it you know what I mean so but he knew how to with all that said you know he'd still be the life of the party of his with his but knew how to okay and cut it and get to work that's what I would always learn I would take from him that he knew how to shut it down shut it off and get straight to work to so much so that he's about to kill a song he about to kill that [ __ ] I mean it's not about to be some [ __ ] where we you have to put him away uh I mean he's not about to rap about whatever the hell they were just talking about I would notice a little things like spelling all significant things like that like wow we all just laughing about this one subject and song is similar to the subject but he didn't say one thing about that yeah I don't know I would pay attention to little things like that with him um to notice that that's how broad that's how wide his mind was and um and that's also what I meant by separate he was able to say separate how he was able to separate but uh um style free little dude now yeah like I you know I literally do everybody come on in probably a few days or something yeah yeah oh man it's beautiful and um what I got from him was I wrote with dude you know he was really a group to get just the BG's before his name was BG we was the BG's and so that's how he got his name be Jeezy because they had a z at the end of it the people thought that said she said be Jeezy if it was the BG's and I got pulled away from the group so all they ever saw was Doogie so that's why they were like okay it must be BGG and so um I wrote with him so I know we wrote I know we had saying writing styles and [ __ ] like that how we would approach a verse word plays uh word a number of words a little things like that so I took a bunch of style he literally taught me a bunch of [ __ ] like physically taught me look now you just started like this that type of [ __ ] um how did the lighter flick come about is on God I would not lie to you bro it's not a trademark it's not a because if it was we'd have it synced up on me and I wouldn't even have to do it yeah if you are listening to you can listen to every single one is a different and the answer is simple and plain if you're a Wayne fan or you guys already gotta know that I'm about to smoke during the version I'm lighting up for the verse right and that's true yeah there's no cheers hold on let me make sure I get my nah it's to the point where like when [ __ ] here for the song they'd be like oh [ __ ] yeah I feel like that too I heard a few flicks on some other songs and you're not delivering like I live so stop doing that [ __ ] yeah man I got a question like obviously you have to listen to your music uh when when do you want to hear and when don't you want to hear it um I want to hear it uh all the time and I don't want to hear it never ever so all the time if I don't listen to no one else oh okay yeah but there's no it's I'm always listening to what I just did when I'm trying to fix and [ __ ] okay so it's not about on by choice that I don't hear when I say no one else I mean not even my own artist so that's I always like to let get that out there I'm gonna say that I don't listen to no one else like gu got a little if text me yo this is uh such and such new single and the video oh [ __ ] they got a video too oh damn I ain't knowing that [ __ ] that's awesome right there he said he killed that [ __ ] I mean he killed that shot man into the first four bars oh you wouldn't know what he said on the first one oh he text back to you who that [ __ ] said [Laughter] I'm a perfectionist trying to make sure that I should have said is um you should have probably said duh you probably shouldn't even say that type of [ __ ] gotcha what do you think 2004 to Carter what do you think the Carter did for your career uh at the time I think it I think it's uh it was the start of it was the start of a path I was able to create and I mean the path of uh a pad that that deserved continuous deserve to continue a continuation a path that deserved to um extend yeah that's that's hard for some people some people could drop a hard-ass album and I want to hear the rest no I mean I ain't looking for your next album but the card allowed me to yeah so I always looked at it like it was a maturity thing for me it was like it was my little for some reason we always approaching the old country just for the card like you know without any time we're working on obviously you know I work all damn day every day so when we get one that's you know it's for the Cardinals so it's nothing about it yeah so it's like so what makes this for the customer obviously it was set to standard I set a standard with that album yeah exactly uh mixtape Wayne I mean that was uh unbelievable um what was it thinking behind the just that hole he told me to do this by the way T told me to do this by the way yeah what you're saying was that just what was that what was the whole thought process behind the mixtape push the first one's you know the first one I did was just getting okay from baby that him telling me is okay like I could put out this music that he when he was okay with all good [ __ ] so that was the first one I put out I think was like 10 000 bars and they stopped calling me mixtapes and whatever we was giving that [ __ ] out free so that was actually the thing about Wayne [ __ ] Wayne's always free Wayne's always free so don't blame me that y'all didn't switch the game up on y'all flipped it up to me too much now that I actually got a charger for my mixtapes now so don't blame me playing the game but yeah so as far as you know in my approach to mixtapes was always different I always thought a mixtape was supposed to be and I still do I still do my mixtape stay where I thought it was supposed to be you wanting to hear me on the songs that's out and I'm not on you know what I mean like 10 10 hot ass songs that you're in the club banging Terry day or whatever I might have killing [ __ ] for you you know I mean I thought that's what and I'm I'm a rabbit I'm gonna say the same melodies the person used after about a good two seconds but you know I mean I'm gonna flip some words and [ __ ] like make it fun interesting and I always thought that's what it should be and so some that's why that that's how I attack my mixtapes and that's how I always have but now mixtapes have changed I didn't people be looking for four hours before you say you're driving a mixtape and so God didn't be having to make sure you and let me imagine that make sure you gotta do at least three or four which is originals and I'm like mac man this is fun my album is for something bro but no this is what the guy yeah [Music] NBA season has all come down to this the finals are here and our partners at DraftKings parlays head over to the app and see our picks as we were riding with the action only happens at DraftKings Sportsbook [Music] um take us through the creative process how long does it take for you to uh are you rolling you not got a handful of songs in a day how do you change your time take us behind the scenes that people haven't seen you in the studio um it depends on what I'm doing if it's features features usually come with a subject you know I mean so I mean that person sent me a song they sound already got a subject they got a hook on there I'm real good with I mean when you give me a subject I'm it's like school I won't finish my work first and I mean also I want to impress a damn teacher you're the teacher whoever the artist was that sent me the song I want to impress you stick to this damn subject and so those are pretty I don't say easy nothing's easy but those are pretty um convenient for me as far as my [ __ ] you gotta come you know you gotta you gotta come here what's that mean so we need some we need x amount of songs about this date and and I just give you like I mean I let y'all pick them man because I can't pick and [ __ ] like that and then um but I'm always you know I'm doing so much different music now that that process has changed I mean my studio not my studio sessions now consist of the musical you know I mean I'm I'm in bands I have bands have new artists you know what I mean I have a legend have Legends on the label now some different artists that gotta go and dump it jump into their world now jump in today's Zone which is [ __ ] awesome The Carter 3 the most successful album uh a million in the first week um what made that project so great defense and that's how to do what I do man you would really have to probably ask the friends that one because they they're the ones who bought it made it and their sons after it uh name their sons after shout out shout out I just would have been saying friend anyway yeah no that was you know the ability to have that have the success and then the Grammys that came with it yeah what is talk to us about that and just what kind of you know blessing that is that right that was an amazing lesson I think that night just period I felt I felt uh when it was still where I felt recognized yeah I mean because what I mean by that is like a run into Jay and all them and they tell me face to face like [ __ ] you the [ __ ] [ __ ] you killing it by their blog that's cool but when you get it rewarded you know I mean oh boy whatever you get awarded and we recognize your greatness we recognize your effort without him they ain't got to tell me the word ain't got to say you're the greatest ever the greatest rapper alive is whatever it says it's saying we recognized it yeah if it was worthless ain't no better feeling because when you do it for when you I don't know what other people do it for the right reasons still haven't looked for a dollar yet so when you're doing it from I just love to do this [ __ ] oh [ __ ] I've been to order for it and that right there is when I look at the [ __ ] when I wake up every day I send two into for repairing for like a month ago they ain't seen my shit's backing me back real quick I'm trying to figure out what's going on they got going uh Mr Carter you got to shoot with Jay what was it like finally getting an opportunity to work with someone you you know you idolize as a youngster that you already know man that the nerves are flowing you know you're trying to make sure you make sure you understand you Eric you want to make sure you not doing or saying nothing wrong and all that also you want to make sure you stay cool and then then you also want to keep staying honest and show show him like now I want you to see like the good stuff I really [ __ ] with you you know what I mean and also you know here he Beyond real so he helped me out in personal matters and [ __ ] like that too so just you know just for him to do that [ __ ] and stuff things like that bigger the music yeah were you guys in the studio together by chance for that oh which was joint for uh Mr Carter uh uh no I think when I think doing that if I don't be right I won't be wrong I don't know if I don't know if that was around the time I was locked up I Ride Slow and when I passed they said what up killer man stop bringing up my past [Music] Kanye produced Mr Carter can you talk to his his greatness oh easy yeah oh man yeah it's a genius if you're not a musician or artist or whatever you haven't you know you haven't witnessed it uh you you don't have the ear for that then you may not know that but he's a total genius playing the simple what I mean by that is you know he's he can stop being Kanye West at any time and stop being Kanye East and be the best at that as well he's a genius when it comes to music I mean I mean whatever Rowdy want to go he wanted to make it to be gospel or whatever it's going to be great we still packing the Arenas to see it he might be could put on imagine even though if it's him there rapping it but [ __ ] we here is because he's a genius plain and simple some of us don't have it like that I can't do no [ __ ] like that because you know it's just because I'm a little too cute and I know they be wanting to see that meme I'ma name a few people in a few words explain uh explain them uh Eminem [ __ ] a jewel actually I am a Jew rare air rare Air Kobe think one word for me when it comes to Kobe is just total mentality now moment [Music] Kobe's of mine State yeah Ross Ross [ __ ] Ross um to me I don't know what I what anybody else see but for me when I first heard Ross and it's always been the same for me Ross was to me was a um a breath of fresh air from the south sounded um someone reminded me so much of not you know he's not that but reminding me of another Notorious BIG and they're being coming from the south what I mean by that is the voice and things like that you know I mean him embracing them embracing them you know big and embrace that New York [ __ ] he embraced his character with the Versace and Ross really embraced it I'm embraced as Rose [ __ ] and I'll end up and I mean it's like he's no character but that [ __ ] is amazing to me you embrace it something to look forward to all the time UGK Legends plain and simple Nipsey [ __ ] nip I know nip I I don't know nip obviously I don't know him like that but I would I want to start that by saying I know nip a little different than everybody else I know never a little different than everybody else so my answer my answer for nip the first would be finally first and and last is a father um speaking of fatherhood yeah your little man called right when you sat down I mean what does fatherhood mean to you we see you all the time with your kids court-sided games doing Daddy [ __ ] obviously as busy as you are how important is making time for the kids oh man that's like it's important ain't even the words that's that's life that's life right yeah that's how like you need food to live like that's that's just like that's just how it goes I didn't have one of those I didn't have a father so you know I mean so I was like it's it's not easy to do something you don't didn't have done for you and try to figure it out yeah also when you you know me in a position like myself you don't ask no [ __ ] you know I mean anybody you know anybody I'm asking yo how you do this how you do it I'm gonna figure it out yeah I'll figure it out so [ __ ] like that is I mean I'm a days not to it's not a challenge no more but it was a challenge before their love um reception cancels all the challenges out Jesus 2009 how did you feel when you landed Drake and Nikki see I'm more excited to see you know and I also I know I didn't know there would be Drake and Nick Nick yeah but I was more excited just more excited for them to I want them to see what they can be um yeah and they you know they always leaned on that they always leaned on my confidence I instilled it now almost like uh when you see the veterans on the team for the young they were like you know he's in stuck in this confidence yeah they've leaned on that and I made sure I was always there how you met Nikki we was looking for we was looking for artists at the time and we set out to look for us I wanted to I wanted a New York female and I wanted to admit I I always tell them I want to make sure she was two I wanted to make sure she had two things she was missing lacking two things do not sound like Foxy do not sound like him you know I mean and when she when I heard Nick was sounding like me yeah I mean like she was changing the voice suffering or saying that you know and it happened and all that okay had keep telling you don't don't do that don't say that don't no all right cool and you ready to talk this weird [ __ ] too it's crazy [ __ ] like me too you're perfect you're perfect what do you what do you write what are you rank Nikki all the time female all the time female yeah put you on the spot yeah I don't think I don't hurt nobody feeling but boy ain't nobody [ __ ] my [ __ ] yeah yeah they come after dig goddamn right how did the how did the Drake relationship start how did you meet Drake uh uh through uh Drake was first first from um my little bro uh Jazz Prince yeah yeah he was rocking with um he had Drizzy he Partridge until I mean he got hit his [ __ ] and it was over from us I heard him I wasn't even paying attention to the rap and [ __ ] like he's saying and I like just him on the hooks because I thought it was someone else on the hook so the song just playing and [ __ ] he's like by the way yeah that's him too like just him too oh yeah come on that's two albums give me uh favorite song by both of them Nikki and Drake they can first come to your mind for Drizzy my favorite song from Drizzy would have to be I really love I really really love starting from the bottom mm-hmm there's a song before all that you know it's a song before all that and it's uh I don't know when he put the song out but it's one of my still one of my favorite songs because this is what I've always seen in him I told him from day one he got he got an old one you know I do see you as something totally different than what we doing yeah I mean yeah we with these chains on and when we over here with these I mean next big ass 345x shirts on this [ __ ] I see you doing something totally different and he took it and ran with it he got something back in the day on so I called Closer to My Dreams that he died that was hard that [ __ ] wasn't even fair yeah we got we got a versus you know we got that never got out and just [ __ ] yeah what you waiting on he like me a professionals like you gotta ask him he probably don't know the answer right here as far as Nick my favorite drink with Nick was uh from Nick is uh it's a giant I was on on a video and I had to be the uh I had to be the um I had to play her her love interest to love me oh my God no it wasn't love it was just I had to play a sex partner so I just had to you know that was I don't even know the name of that song that's my favorite song honestly honestly my answer for Nick was my favorite song from Nick hasn't came out yet she that cold too you still fasting from food fast food I mean you still passing fast food Oh you mean if I don't just now with that said when that came out I ate fast food in 27 years yeah that [ __ ] when that came out like that people like like I do it I didn't [Music] too so yeah that [ __ ] it's a workout how did that start how did you start skating like how that came up high watching TV watching TV watch why stop watching what you call it binging and start binging a little reality a reality show about a camp you know the cameras out here called Camp Woodward that you know the reality show at one time watching the same [ __ ] at the same time every day little kid on the on shout out my name my [ __ ] not Alex Miller he was a little boy at the time though you know having fun on the board like [ __ ] man you know what that [ __ ] look fun as hell I call my name like man I want a [ __ ] escape room I ain't know what they even don't even know what that meant I just know I want a ramp put it on my roof so we put a ramp on the roof on the roof and found out that that's not even skating like right that's one style that's vert and you really want like what vert was I learned I just gave birth without knowing I was learning okay so that's why I'm not scared all the style which is perfect you take any real hard Falls because then I tried to [ __ ] around damn four surgeries from skating yeah I knew I learned early I fell early at one time [ __ ] my kneecap up ripped my toenail off and it was a rack with my homie Tori shout out territory plus when he ripped his tongue down it was it for me you take that [ __ ] off and still you like still kick flip that yeah how was it we got a relationship with prime too how was it going to visit Primary in Colorado yeah man it's perfect yeah it was straight perfect I just couldn't be like bro this is like you just made this place your house that it totally cry like when you're going where you going like foreign shout out the uh so many so many rappers you see that you see today that we see you in you know I mean from the from the style from the way you dress from the half from the tattoos the Prototype what would you tell some of these artists that that look up to you that want to have the same longevity that you had in the game be grateful be grateful for every single every single second The Goods the bads the UPS the downs and learn from everything not only from your mistakes learn from everything learn from your highest points yeah everything and again be grateful and yeah because if you're doing this for real because I'm only talking to those when you ask me that question I'm not talking to the person that that you know you was this before and you're a rapper now and you're trying to rap to stay from out of this and yeah trying to I respect all of that is what I do it but I'm not talking to you talking to the one that was don't know why the words are in your head when you wake up I want to go to sleep not that person because that's who I am you know I mean so you asked me what would I tell that person be grateful be grateful for why you can't figure it out can't understand why you're so [ __ ] awesome can't figure out why you're so great can't figure out why you saw ahead of your time can't figure out why you why you you have answers to things that no one even knows the question to be grateful for that when people ask us what does basketball mean to us my answer is kind of like everything because it changed my life got me out the hood is that the same that's the same kind of answer you would give somebody actually what hip-hop means to you no what what would you ask to be hip hop means to me of my answer would be everything but it was it's not you know it's I I look at it as my um what God created for me in my in my time I believe that we all are just we all we all are just we everything's happened before before and I mean I mean not a life I'm just mean like in this world we just in last generation all the same [ __ ] happened generation before that yeah whatever so back then there was poets whatever you know I mean it was this it was that she was stripping It On Us by the body of just holding people's attention and he was making the most of that attention which um figuring how to put your thoughts to words and figuring out how to make those words translate to the people that you're trying to talk to and make it make sense to them so much sense that they live not only like it love it they live by it and so I thank God that I have I still have that this is what my path was as one of those guys quick hitters coming down to the end right here go ahead and light that up and we're gonna get rolling uh home stretch it's been a good day Jack but I need one more [ __ ] it you gotta roll it do I oh feel free to do your thing yeah go ahead I know how to Purl them here we go uh uh in your opinion your top five artists of all time Hip-Hop Hip-Hop stack five um uh you know no harder right all right of course biggie cause Jay um anybody knows me you already know that mission about to be right up in there yeah you know that uh after that I got I got UGK as a group as a whole and then after that I got Goodie Mob it was that five yeah so for for a lot of people know I'm from Port Arthur can you just give the a brief how you how you and UGK became so close like how you met them and how y'all became cool but button was with cash money for a moment yes a lot of people don't know that yeah a lot of people don't know if I was with brown B was with cash money for a nice time and uh he attracted to me and my my relent you know me one always rap rap bun is a rap head I mean bun tried bun tried his hardest not to try as hard as to keep that [ __ ] southern for y'all when I have a song a feature to do or some [ __ ] like that we got a big song we doing I'm making sure my verse I'm checking with button first of all I'm gonna record that [ __ ] that's hard and he's giving me not younger you should probably say this and [ __ ] like this MJ Kobe Bryant rank them uh-oh MJ Kobe Braun rank them [Laughter] yeah come on with it Tom Brian one yeah [Music] Mike and Kobe what was said but Simba was Brian Kobe might right oh yeah that's right yeah the AI Braun talk about his greatness I mean you're someone who's been in this game 25 plus years he's in it 20 years and he had a relationship with Kobe and brown right what is what what what I like that what makes brown so special in in your opinion what makes Kobe so special in your opinion Brian I don't know Brian like personally So my answer for Brian to be from you know from afar watching from afar Bryan and it's on the court Brian you got to remind yourself that I mean I know for a fact I love Jordan for the way he [ __ ] always won and the kid young you know too much about the ins and outs and all the other [ __ ] that we love now in the game that I'm old enough to care about so I just who won that's my favorite player you better win he always [ __ ] win that's all I know you know what I mean so I know I got old enough to know how hard it is to [ __ ] do it back to back to back you know what I mean so that's that's where he got his gains his respect with me you know I mean start getting his respect with me till he's the greatest you know I mean then I would so I would know I noticed that okay Brian done that [ __ ] like it's very hard to do it's like damn that [ __ ] Brian had done that [ __ ] with three teams and that that's right there that's when I was like regardless he ain't got six I was like what the hell he done it with three different teams and and not on one of those [ __ ] teams have he was did he play part two I mean row two he still can get six though that's the scary part yeah definitely that's crazy yeah and so that right there is um would tip Tim over to Jordan's gift for me because you already know I was Jordan I couldn't have that conversation with me what even the conversation until I had to really think like you know what so I'm still in this [ __ ] I'm 20 years strong you know I mean like slime is [ __ ] amazing he's been amazing every year everything like he ain't never it's Prime always like whenever you're saying you know like you need to retire on top [ __ ] either I'm saying yeah it's the best way to go out like that [ __ ] brown don't even know what the middle feel like that's all he ever been like so that right there is just amazing I mean his longevity and whatever he did doing to his body or with his or whatever if that [ __ ] he must be praying a million times and I respect it and Brian we trust yeah my respect I respect um that's what he that's why he took the the meter for me because he's doing this and then off the court you can't even come on come on yeah that right there we ain't seen nothing like that from a superstar like like you know Brandon Brian named and snuck into my my rents and just what I mean by that is like when I'm having a conversation with my Bros and whatever and I'm you know and I'm an artist or whatever and I'm like you know when I want to talk about a [ __ ] with money money you know I mean it used to be Jake it still is and I'm like [ __ ] Jay [ __ ] you know Jay [ __ ] I'm trying to get to work not [ __ ] bro I even know this Brian has snuck into one of them come with it caught me off guard and I'm running like you know them [ __ ] Brown [ __ ] oh [ __ ] brand new man all right boy yeah I mean that's it's amazing brought the team with him yeah and then the school [ __ ] and oh [ __ ] come on man all right beautiful and really care about it until where you still you know what I mean don't do nothing you ain't Jane because I believe when you get money like that um you don't do nothing you ain't genuine about too rich to go [ __ ] about some [ __ ] that y'all asking me to do yeah you know what I mean so the things that he choose to really care about is amazing absolutely give me one bar lyric you you want to be remembered by oh [ __ ] I got it exactly uh but he's here baby please save it babe please say the [ __ ] back where where five dinner guests Dead or Alive five dinner guests Dead or Alive biggie uh Confucius first um gotta chop it up with um I gotta chop it over with MJ Michael Jackson the other MJ yeah if you can even say that guy MJ Michael Jackson um Jay Jay just to um ask him a million questions and be recorded what I am doing [Music] and um last man I gotta you know whoever or whatever oh you know who else uh my man uh I almost said his name wrong but my man from from uh Blink 182 I don't know if it's time or Mike the long time though times never met time and uh you know you know everybody got their own guide or whatever even so the god I believe in I love to have bring him send his ass down holler at him or her whatever sit down talk to him smoke one yeah are you there that's you who would you like to see on all the smoke but but before you answer that question you have to help us get your answer on the show okay uh I'm killing that question today I'm killing it [ __ ] bro you know I love to see on here I I would Drake done that's not good because I ain't gonna watch so you say who I would love to see I have you ever seen that [ __ ] I know every answer to the question you asked who she who I would love to see on it yeah just remember you got to help us get them on the show yeah still uh before I hit this week because you
