I started editing my videos 3 years ago and I was fascinated by the process but one of the biggest problems that I faced was the lack of good free tools for video editing out there. I looked everywhere, most of the free stuff were either sneaky hidden trials or just bad copies of actual products and I didn't have any money to spend on monthly subscription for music, addons or sound effects but after all this headache, I finally found these gems which immediately made my videos much better and a lot easier to edit and I'm going to share them with you. First, upscale. You've probably seen a lot of screenshot animations but if you have a 1080 monitor, the screenshots are also saved in the same resolution which quite frankly don't look good when zoomed in. An upscale solves this problem by letting you upscale an image by up to 4 times. Just import the clips, select the type of upscale, I generally use ultramix balance for normal photos and digital art for 3d renders or digital artworks. It's really quite straightforward and easy to use and the next one is OpenArt AI. Yep, there are tons and tons of AI image generators out there but how many of them are free? Well, this one is. You get more than 1000 credits to start with which should be more than enough. You can also get daily free credits by joining their discord server. You get to choose from multiple generators based on what kind of photos you want to generate, from portraits to photo realistic to anime, anything you need for your next project. And talking about projects, if you use after effects then try AE juice, free plugins for after effects which consist of 100 plus assets including glitches, UI elements, film noise and that's not it. You also get 150 plus sound effects and all of this for free. In fact, I used quite a lot of these assets from this library in this video itself so let me know if you like them. Next for after effects is video copilot's lightsaber. With this you can create some really cool glowy animations from lightning to glowing webs to lightsaber to neon text. You can create all of these for free which will definitely take your videos to the next level. But what if we need some really good stock footage? Well, use Pexels. This is my go to website for free stock footage. Honestly it's as good as many paid websites out there and it's updated every day and has a collection of more than 3.2 million photos and videos which are both 100% free for personal and commercial use. Next is soundly. Now, we all know how important sound is for making a good video. Without sound effects, it's really hard to convey the action. This video that you're watching has over 80 sound effects within the span of a few minutes and most of the sounds are from soundly's massive free library. Using it is also really easy. Just download and install the program, log in to your account, search for the kind of music you want and drag the sound to your video editor of choice. Simple. Other great sources for free sound effects are Davinci resolve free sound pack, Capcut's Audio Library and Soundcrate which give you 5 free downloads per day. But what about the music? Well, thematic. You get access to 5 songs and sound effects per month. Yep, it's not a lot I know. But their collection is way better than most free song libraries which have really cheesy music. Another free music website is Creator Mix. They have a pretty big collection of approximately 300 free songs which are pretty suitable for most kind of videos. The only issue that I have with this website is that it hasn't been updated for a while. Okay, now let me ask you a question. Are you into filmmaking? If that's a yes, then this is a big one. Short Deck. If you're working on a short film or a documentary, chances are that you're going to need a mood board and Short Deck is exactly that. They curate images from every movie and categorize them by genre, color, mood, location and many more. You can easily create a shortlist for your film in just a matter of minutes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. It's not free but you get a 14-day trial by just signing up. No credit cards or anything required. But that's more than enough for a film prep, isn't it? And the next time when you make another film, just sign up with a new account. Next up, UXwing. If you need some high resolution logos or any kind of icons for free, well, this is it. They have a collection of well over 1000 plus icons. All the icons are completely free for both personal and commercial work with no strings attached. Triune digital assets. From the creators of Film Riot, they have some really juicy and free stuff for video editing including LUT packs, Lens Texture, Bloodstock Effects, Lava and Slime assets and a lot more. I'll leave the links down in the description. In fact, I'll leave the links for all the stuff I mentioned down in the description below and that takes quite a while. So if I could get 50 likes on this video, that would be great. The next one is Handbrake. If you frequently upload videos on social media or DaVinci Resolve, then you definitely need this tool. It helps you to compress your videos without losing much quality or details and it works surprisingly well. But wait, why do you need to compress videos before uploading? Well, many social media platforms heavily compress your videos if the file size is too large and to avoid that, using a compression program to reduce the file size is a good idea. You can also use it to change the format of your videos to MP4 in case you export videos in formats like DNxHD or GoPro Cineform from editing softwares like DaVinci Resolve which isn't really good with H.264 video exports.
