Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
For those who don't have time to watch it, can you please give a TL;DW?
It seems really interesting.
Really great and thorough talk. Definitely worth the watch. It's especially useful for people interested in designing Roguel-ikes, but I also found lots of parallels and interesting ideas that could be applied to my game which is not a Rogue-like.
One rogue like that wasn't touched on that I love is Darkest Dungeon... the community over at r/darkestdungeon is great and the game is on steam.
I'd love to see more of these games out there.
/u/Fuddsworth Some parts of this conversation are really resonating with me with your game. I had never played an incremental game before Clickie Zoo, but the talk here in mentioning the 'mastery loop' here is what I think got me to play your game so thoroughly from start to finish. If there wasn't a way to reset the zoo and see if I could beat the game better, faster, I don't think I would have played it for more than a few hours, compared to the many days I put into it.
Just food for thought. I now have the right vocab for what it was that caught me in Clickie Zoo, the 'mastery loop'.
Hey guys; this is a dumb question, but is it Roguelike or Roguelite I have heard and seen it both ways, but Roguelike makes the most sense to me as most games with that moniker are actually more complex than Rogue was(rather than being a lite version of rogue).
