yeah we're live i never like how dark this is got no boost yo that's richard holder what's going on we are live it's friday night happy friday everybody i've got a supercharged six leader up on the dyno got lots of stuff to do tonight so everybody now show up and i point my magic finger and no nobody's there that's what happens some days are like that some days everything works out just great and then there are fridays when that doesn't happen but you know gotta take the good with bad so we've got a six liter up on the dyno with the cadillac sts blower trying to run that to compare it to classic crusaders in the house to try to compare it to the 4-8 to see what happens everybody kind of wants to see how much power that sts blower will support like will it support a a you know healthy six liter and this one was basically that it was a cam splitter and it has triclo heads on it so it made over 500 horsepower despite the fact that we limited it with the stock truck intake so i'll be able to show you guys some of that there's some even more powerful stuff up on there that we were looking at some dino data that's the great thing about having dino data is that we can refer back to it because when i asked ibrahim today hey steve what about this and this and this he's like dude i can't i can't remember that that was like nine episodes of engine masters ago and 300 motors and i said look i know how you feel man somebody yeah hey somebody comes up to me and says hey richard do you remember that cam test you ran yeah yes i i do remember um the was it cam test like 600 or 612 or which one was it are you going to spin that blower to the max no we're not more boost rick leslie's here um and and we'll go over this later today but or later tonight today you know it's every day runs into the next one uh we're getting ready for the weekend i'm gonna be working on uh finishing up finnegan's deal uh we're gonna run that he's got a 6-2 crate motor that we're doing a twin turbo deal on so we'll be able to run that that will be very cool and it also has one of the sandwiched intercoolers that will be in between the lid of the high ram and the high ram which i i've never tested before so that would be kind of interesting i'll try to get some charge temperature data from that to see what we're doing you know we're not going to run a ton of boost on it because i think it only needs to make about i don't know 900 or something like that so i you know that's not going to take a lot of boost but it'll be interesting to see how cool that gets you know running that kind of boost and that kind of flow level so but we've got to configure up a turbo system with stock exhaust manifolds and it's got to fit the boat and everything so that would be kind of interesting um also i want to let you guys know and since you guys are the first ones here you guys will officially have first dibs um i i now i've realized that um i have a problem and it's it's already motors so i need to get rid of some of my motors so i can make room for you know for more motors because you know we do it i have uh the cadillac showed up today a honda was supposed to show up today i have two ls motors here i have the slant six here i'm working on finnegan's motor um i've got the the pontiac is here you know it's just it's on and on and on so i need to get rid of a few of them so what i'm going to do is the cadillac motor is going to be for sale so if you're interested in the 500 cadillac it just showed up from the machine shop it does not have the heads on it so if you want to make me an offer and you can put those heads on with whatever head gaskets you want on if you want to run them or i will put it together and we will run it on the dyno and then it will be more expensive if i do that but it basically comes with you know it has it's the whole motor it has the intake manifold valve covers oil pan distributor has all that stuff i need to find out what i can't remember it it may have had a cardboard probably has a brawler cardboard or something on it so if you're interested in that let me know and or if you want to take it the way that it is and you can put it together and make it nitrous ready or boost ready put some mls head gaskets on it or or some arp headsets or whatever you want to do so i'm getting rid of that and if you're interested uh send something to my email and i'll be posting my email randomly here so that people can get a hold of me gallery 16 at awol.com so if you guys are interested let me know uh emil yes morales thank you very much i can use it obviously to to buy more motors oh and i forgot i also have the 3800 v6 here and i have the the atlas motors in the back of my truck just riding around with me just cruising around being you know being cool it's like hey i'm free i'm not in the wrecking yard anymore this is awesome i can go out and roam around with like regular people but uh so i need to get rid of that so if you guys are interested in the cadillac motor let me know it's five inch cadillac motor they just re they just freshened it up it's all good to go and if you'd like i can put it on the dyno as i said if i do that if i put together put on the dyno we'll sell for a little bit more money just so i can recoup those costs but um i'd like to see it you know go to somebody and go in something and and see smokey burnouts as a result of the massive cadillac torque which would be good the other engine i'm selling i think i have somebody that has already expressed interest in this so they will get first shot at it but i'm selling the thousand horsepower or more because we've made more than that the four eight so i have the four eight it is it's the one that i've used over and over and over and over again one that i had the kind like scs blower on i've had turbos on it i did the original um sloppy stage 2 versus the world the n a stuff but it is a 4 8 lr4 it has a stock block and crank it has gen 4 rods it has je pistons it has 706 heads you know the best hit ever for a 480 it has a valve spring upgrade i think it is a dual spring with a titanium retainer it has hardened push rods it has a truck manifold that they'll have 80 pound injectors and a stock throttle body and i'll also throw in a the dna the world famous dna gt45 turbo and a set of stock exhaust manifolds because so you can make your own turbo kit uh so i'm gonna as i said i i think i offered it to somebody else already i'm gonna find out if they want that and if they don't if that falls through that engine will also be for sale the next one actually is i don't think anybody's seen much of it because i haven't run it for a while but it is a 5 liter ford mustang engine right now it's carbureted and it is a um rebuilt reconditioned uh short block that i did i think it originally came from marshall engines or something like that but we did a bunch of stories with it right now it has a set of blueprint aluminum heads on it i run a bunch of stories excuse me with that motor it has an extreme energy 274 camshaft and it has a polished dual plane i think if i remember right and it has a an msd distributor and probably a 650 brawler carburetor on it so if you want a carbureted 302 and i think that it was in i need to look up the data but i think that it was somewhere in the high 300 horsepower range getting close to 400 with uh run on the dyno in that configuration so it did it did well and it's exactly what you would expect of a dual plan carbureted 302 with an extreme energy cam and and decent heads and stuff on it also has roller rockers and you know fancy valve covers and stuff so and it has a uh it also has a front cover it's a 50 ounce motor 50 ounce balance there's no flywheel on it we run one when we're running it on the dyno but it does have a damper on it it has a fox chassis oil pan and pump and pickup and stuff on it so you know it's a it's a good little nearly 400 horsepower small block 302 an aluminum headed one so if you're interested in that and you want to upgrade your mustang or other equally fast forward we've run nitrous on it and stuff and it you know it's a good little motor for testing and stuff and it would be good to see it again have it out running around to do that the last motor i'm going to sell is actually the one that's on the dyno that is the big bang six liter the very famous big bang six liter it will not be sold in its big bang configuration and so listen very carefully it will be the the stock bottom end which is easy obviously to reproduce with green gap but this one's been dyno tested and it's famous has the uh oil pan on it with the with the fittings in it for uh some sort of turbos that we'd want to run on it we run the stuff from cx racing they're like a bulkhead fitting so they have the o-rings on both sides and you drill a hole and screw them down and they they work really well so they seal everything up it has some kind of camshaft in it i have a variety of different cams i could put in it but it'll have something that makes them i think the motor makes about 550 horsepower n a so it's a good start toward making anything that you want under boost it has uh arp ca 625 head studs on it so it has the serious like diesel style um head studs on it has mls gaskets i don't remember i think that they're fill pro they're either velcro or the vls9 head gaskets it does not have the trick flow 225 heads on it it has a set of uh tea ported 317 head so some cnc ported 317 heads and then we can talk about what kind of intake that you would want i have a couple of different ones that i have available that i could put on there and also you will get in addition to that motor you will get the other big bang stuff you will get the two s475 borgwarner turbos and the dual core air water intercooler that we run on everything from cx racing um i won't give you all of the tubing because the way that we run it on the dyno is irrelevant um and and you'll get the the exhaust manifolds the stainless tubular you know full race double throw down wishbone cabbage shoe wearing crumb cake you'll get the exhaust manifolds to go along with that and then you just have to configure where you want your turbos and your intercooler and that sort of stuff um but obviously we know that that setup is capable of over 1500 horsepower in fact the turbos are capable of supporting closer to 2000 if you wanted to do something crazy like that i know i wouldn't recommend that on a stock bottom end motor but you could try that but or you could put something together that's a more serious or run it at a reasonable power level heck you could even run one of those turbos and and it would be a lot of fun on that 6 liter so all of those are going to be for sale and let me know if you guys are interested in it i put my email address if you guys um i just have to get i have to get those away and so i can make room for more to come in and so i have room and my storage to put them all together and you know it's just it's just a fitment thing and i need to get through stuff and process the ones that i'm doing and then so i can get new ones and have new projects so that's why we're doing that so let me know what you guys think um we'll take a walk in the dino cells matter of fact we can do that right now i don't want to pull my i don't want to pull my mic off or my camera rather mic would be okay nobody wants to listen to me anyways so we'll go in here and make sure i take my wi-fi hotspot with me yo what's up okay so we're running this uh running our six liter we have the cadillac sds blower on it we've got the super wazoo air intake on it we already ran this motor in a and the six liter makes with the truck intake and the cam that's it right now is actually a centrifugal blower cam so it's a it's and it's a smaller one it's actually oh here's the uh you can take a look over there see under the thing see there's the fancy tubular manifolds that we use for the big bang motors the centrifugal blower that's in there now is a 227 243 or something like that it's a bryan to erasing centrifugal blower cam so guess what we're running it with a positive displacement blower is it going to work yes because what do we know about cams they're all just they're all just cams okay uh you know what i can do let's let's take a little stroll out and i'm gonna show you i'll show you the cadillac motor this is uh that's finnegan's deal so we're swapping over to fuel injection and turbo and you know all the fancy stuff i do like this supercharger tunnel ram nitrous e85 it's got all the bells and whistles so here cadillac just arrived put the heads over there on the pan stuff it's already just you know for the quicky assembly the short block stuff is already done so that's that's usually the time consuming thing this right here is super sweet there's nothing better than two barrel pontiac motors almost nothing okay old sit down get a couple questions it's friday we got no job got nothing to do let me get you some boost not that i need to plug my computer in i have a new battery because that's 30 well spent okay frosted gold beverage what do we got going on when are we going to get a boosted 5.3 there yes i do want to do a boost in l83 but i i don't i don't have the fuel for that right now uh mark did you find a biology for the 4.2 liter yes yes somebody just emailed me somebody local here to westec said that they have one that's already free and i can just come get it so that's that's perfect that's right up my alley will you ever start doing lts but what kind like a new lt like the l83 lt based motor that we already have videos up on so the answer would be yes or the other lt the gen 2 lts which we already have videos up so yes or the original lt back from 1970 which we already have videos up so again you know yes but yeah i do want to do more lt stuff richard says i have a lanatic cam i purchased but never installed we wanted to see how what kind of power it would make well tell you what why don't you throw the specs out here and everybody here can guess at what how much power it makes because that's why we're here to basically just make up information no but if you tell me what what the duration is and stuff we can probably give you a pretty good idea dad's garage i have the intake you need for your pontiac i have the offenhauser tripower and a dual carb 360. nice um please send me an email and let's get together i'm going to get the um i want to do the tripower uh i want to get a factory tri power which would be good i want to try also the six deuce and really the thing that i want more than anything just to start out with is a is a stock four barrel carburetor just so that i can go from the two barrel to a four barrel because you know you gotta do that four barrel headers cam that's kind of the normal thing the osman yeah see all the bells and whistles not some of them not one of them all of them see adrian that's why i'm here just for quotables joe jackson do you and brulee own westec um that's a double no that's no to both of those actually uh sources for a decent price on cadillac blowers uh if you could if you could build a time machine and go back in that time machine to before i did the first video then you could find lots of them it's much harder to do now they're more expensive over built so you you over you'll email me email emailed me about the cadillac motor nice i like it the car tech explain the fuel you need i don't need fuel i have fuel what i need are the things that deliver the fuel we need uh bigger injectors we need a bigger pump we need a different we can change the cam lobe too to increase the flow rate of the pump um all of those things and unfortunately for the di stuff injectors and pumps are very expensive how about a vk-56 yes i do like those uh no way jose i've not seen that i've we've talked about that a few times and and mainly as it deals with changing the static compression uh john you you would be the guy that i would come ask that question of i don't i don't think i ever measured that directly to find out if there was a change in pushrod like on an ls7 lifter honestly i don't remember ever putting ls7 lifters in anything when we put these things together obviously they come with lifters from the wrecking yard and if i have replaced them a lot of times we just use um stuff that uh fel pro or federal mogul had sent us so they send us a you know a case of lifters and so we put those those in and i don't even know who made them for them they may be a johnson or something i'm not sure richard what are your thoughts on a 6 liter with a 228 cam that should work good if it's a street car that's like the the sloppy stage 2 is a 228 230 so that's pretty common steve morris does good stuff he knows how to build engines the oz man what are you doing that's big money and refund for your battery look at that see it's got a new battery that's free but now since i'm a youtuber i have to go and do a video and say nice things about the ozman which we would say anyway oh stay hydrated stay thirsty my friends yeah william you have to take um peabody and sherman with you though to get the wayback machine to officially do it but honestly i don't know where uh you have to just do a search on ebay to see who's selling them because i don't um this the blower that i have came with the adapters and stuff from the guys that made the adapters they don't they didn't corner the market on blowers anything i think they just had a couple of them oh and john chimes in now that i told him i have all the i have too many motors that i have to get rid of some of these motors because i have too many motors he's giving me new motors to pick and yes on both of those i'd love to do a 455 holes um i think i got offered recently a 403 from a trans am which is would be another good choice only because they used a lot of them they you know it came in a lot of trans ams but the 455 is the one that i would like to do i think brulee i was talking to him today i think that they've actually run a few 455s here uh james a351 cleveland would be a good step up from a 462 valve ict billet makes adapters for the ls7 intake that's good uh no way jose that that seems like a pretty big stretch there 15 pounds and more timing and 23 and less timing that's a change in 8 psi and you know if you have any kind i don't know what the motor that you started out with was but you know if you start out with a 450 horsepower motor you're gonna make around 30 horsepower per pound of boost so it's that's a lot no not that's not right 15 yeah that's right 30 horsepower per pound of boost so that's um as long as you have enough time to get it so i don't know how little timing he ran on the test it'd be interesting to see i i like watching that stuff so frank you changed from a 214 to a 227 cam on your 455 and lost and lost mile an hour in et that seems odd uh 500 caddy and a hummer hd that's that's perfect for a 500 inch cadillac that's a big heavy vehicle and it needs to have lots of torque so it's awesome uh dad's garage here i'm gonna put down the email right now aol.com what's up i had no nova tech without your expertise in melbourne here i would be lost um not expertise just enthusiasm a 1983.8 carbureted turbo six so is that a um is that a buick then uh the voodoo cam so those have those have some ramp rate on them 251 263 114 651 lift but that's a lot of duration even though it has a 651 lift um we've run into issues with some of the voodoo stuff having uh you have to have a lot of spring rate with them but 650 is a lot of lift but not with 200 excuse me 251 degrees of duration though that should actually be okay but we don't normally if that's an ls cam we don't normally run that kind of lift unless it's an ls7 unless we're doing a 1 8 rocker on it hey osman much appreciated and make sure if you're um you know if it gets into the season and you catch any cool brown snakes or anything make sure i want to see some video old cronies garage hello there and welcome just a mopar guy and a chevy guy channel actually if you go search through this channel you'll realize i'm not a chevy guy today we're testing chevy's but and i have a chevy in the back of my truck but i also have a cadillac and i also have a 57 pontiac and a b series honda that was supposed to be here and sled 6. so i'm just a motor guy twin turbo gt45s on a six liter is it possible to tow with the setup yeah it is although two gt45s would be um kind of laggy for what you're trying to do and jacob do you have any videos of me building an old l69 35305 ho motor from the camaros and i think that they use that motor in the monte carlo ss as well those are cool i know i know how good they are and how fast they are because i had to race against them in my mustang in scca showroom stock yeah jose i'll have to check that out kentucky speed what's your impression of billy's newer lc loves we've run a couple of them and they've performed pretty well they they performed the way that we expected cams of those kinds of specs to do i really like the surface finish on those um and i didn't run them up to see if they were um you know we don't run them up at a high enough rpm to find out how how stable they are or or if they're more stable than other people but i know billy really well and he's um you know if he tells me that's going to do that if we were to run it up there i think i believed him chris wants to know how timing's curves change from 799 to 706 heads i don't think it's a flow difference or a discharge coefficient of discharge i like to see a 799 with 189 valves and a 706 with two yeah that that would be an interesting comparison the the two inch valve in my opinion isn't going to hurt the 706 head uh we know because when we unshroud the chamber even with a stock valve and a 706 head it picks up a lot of flow so putting a two inch valve is going in the wrong direction um putting a small valve and a 799 in my opinion is also going the wrong direction because i think that what a lot of people don't realize about the 706 head is that it does have a chamber that matches the bore size it has smaller valves it has smaller ports it's got a different throat so it has a lot of things that are combined together to make it work pretty well it's never you know just like in life it's never just one thing brandon i have a 6 liter and i'm going with the m 122 supercharger like is it like the one that we have here and i'm looking for 700 horsepower uh there's any cam jeff will get you there because you're a 6-0 with a camshaft like we have is this one made 530 i think n a so you're you know you're well the blower doesn't have to do too much there as long as it will support that i still don't know that yet well you add boost to a neon no but i did there was a guy that came in that had a turbo neon and he did something really cool this was way back in the day what he did was actually um to the timing he had something that activated the knock sensor because on his on that neon application it it by like four or six degrees or something so it was enough that it took the right amount of timing out and so that was his trick to that was his timing trick on the neon to um you know to timing under boost which i thought was a that's a genius idea thanks brandon thanks for watching uh old cronies garage i don't do diesels i don't run diesels here on the engine dyno i've done stuff on the chassis dyno and i had a a dodge coming so an o8 i think it was and we did some stuff to that but i don't do a lot of diesel stuff uh michael wants a tune port on an ls3 i i don't know what that would do i don't i mean obviously we have to fit it on there it would have to be a custom one that we'd have to make i'm trying to think of um we did run across ram i ran across ram from the guys at speedmaster it was the ir deal and it went across like this and it picked up quite a bit of power down low because it had longer runners um but it did and did the same thing the tune ports normally do is it sacrificed power out at the top so i i'm sure that that would work it's just that we couldn't adapt a factory tpi to it see here osbourne that's great i i was hoping that it's because you were from australia a super duty build what is the i like any good engine on a 534 ford super duty engine from an old big block i'm not i'm not even familiar with that what motor is that what is it based off of i mean i know almost all of the fords uh maybe i don't know all the big truck ones john what's up let's see how much boost do you think i could run through my 601 pump gas can't get e85 john are you are you in sacramento i do like the chevy sonic 1.4 or the the little turbo motors i think those are cool jacob there's lots of cams for that thing it's a carbureted small block so the sky is the limit it just depends on what rpm you want to run the look at something that's like for cut from comp there's others obviously available but the a good street one is a like a 264 grind or a 270 or 274 276 for a chevy maybe look at something in that range you're looking at a 218 224 or 224 230 that's kind of the go-to um duration range for most street motors and that's going to be either sub 500 or a little over 500 lift and if it's a and if it's a um efi well that's a carburetor motor so you'll be fine because you know you have to have a carbureted camshaft um but it's going to be in the 1 12 113 114 lsa how can i convert from gasoline to e85 you normally have to have bigger injectors because it requires more fuel flow and then usually a bigger pump too um and then you have to take a look at some of the lines and stuff to see what's going on there fast lsxr versus btr for low end torque that that's no comparison the fast makes a lot more low speed power in fact the fast will make more power than the equalizer probably all the way up to 65 or 7000 rpm uh vampirical why do you think more people do not compound turbos instead of running twins normally because they can make the power output that they want just running twins there's no need to compound it to have the higher pressure ratios they do that a lot in diesels but if your goal is 1500 horsepower and you can make 1500 horsepower without having to compound it i think that that's a better choice why does a higher lift cam make more power than what the heads will flow goes to 11. so are you talking about like the head stops flowing at 650 lift and if you run a 700 lift cam that it actually makes power and works that's because it spends very little time and the other thing that happens if you look at a lot of guys go by this and i think it's foolish they look at the airflow data and then they choose their cam according to the airflow data and they go okay well this this thing stops flowing at 600 lifts so i only need a 600 lift cam except if you put a 650 lift cam in it it might make more power because it's only sweeping through there very quickly so you have to try things like that and find out if it work that's not that's not a hard and fast rule i know a lot of guys go by that but that's we've seen lots of applications where the head doesn't flow as well and you put more lift in it and still makes more power uh corey i don't remember you ever saying how you tie the holley efi into the ecm on the ls motors we don't run the factory or i don't run factory ecms on anything we only run the holley the efi it's a standalone management system all by itself so all we do is just plug it into the injectors and plug it into the um it plugs right into the factory map sensor right into the uh not factory well it will plug into the factory map sensor right into the crank sensor the cam sensor the coil packs it plugs right into all of those the the harness that that came with the holley does all of that uh kevin i'm not familiar with the tkm lam cam is like a thrill cam three motors thrust problem plus bearing problem six liter ls with a glide are you um you must be loading the thrust bearing then you need to check and see what's happening with the um you know the converter and or an impact wouldn't put you after something you're obviously you're obviously loading the crank somehow you need to figure that out get some spacing in there that's actually fairly common uh james what do people mean when they say they have an rv cam that's the same thing as having a three-quarter race cam or a race cam and those kinds of things the rv cam was just a mild cam it's usually something like a 206 212 or a 203 210 or something like that something something that has more duration than and usually a little more lift than a factory cam but is but is still mild and street drivable and is designed for low speed torque because that's what you know for an rv you you would want to have torque uh thumb well yeah i will talk to the guys at schneider about that about reground cams for the fort 4200. the street cams i'm talking about mention or the sloppy stage 2 is a 228 230. oh okay john you're up in um up in michigan okay cool yeah let me know if i can help i'll answer whatever questions i can tour converter swelling i guess that could be a possibility right uh we have not run the cadillac under boost yet so i i've only run it n a and we're just just put the blower on and stuff so i'll be doing that later uh stephen the the the most powerful engines that they've run here that i've been there for uh mahovitz has some of this crazy four six twin turbo stuff you know that makes 17 or 1800 just on the spring before they start turning things up and the same thing with mike miller race engines bring stuff here that's um you know it's nuts too it was in the 17 or 1800 horsepower range at like 12 or 13 pounds because it's a big motor so those are you know and when they turn them up for when they're racing they're they're way beyond that the tsp 218 224 cam and a 48 it's gonna want to rev a little bit but yeah that will work would you use pop-up pistons i don't like high dome pistons in an ls motor i like flat tops uh cody take a look at the 175 horsepower cam videos we've got a 408 on there that's like a 6500 rpm one and it makes 620 or something like that so that should work pretty well mario i don't have i don't have numbers yet on the 6o with the blow run nice over built i like the idea of a marine turbo version that's super turkey uh uh john all i've done for the last 25 years is do stuff on the dyno although i do i've done a lot of racing too not a lot of drag racing but a lot of um road racing and bonneville stuff and i've you know i've been to you know i used to go to terminal island and we used to go down to um oh down by down by ocean side not no carlsbad's where the other drag race that we should go to a lot what is your favorite cam for a turbo ls6 liter you just need to tell me what rpm range you want to run and what what just tell me what power output you want uh we will probably run before when we run the 4200 i'll we'll run a little bit of boost on it um probably before i take it apart we'll just run it you know what is it they call it unopened and so we can run a little bit of boost on it but if we're going to turn it up we'll definitely take it apart and put head gaskets because i probably want to put head studs in it anyway and i'd also like to try some cams imported heads and stuff like that so if we're going to take it apart and do some of that stuff at that time we'll definitely open it up the novobilt's coming slow i'm going to try to bring it down here so that we can get some more stuff done on have you ever driven at road atlanta yeah and i drove road atlanta back in the day uh when they had the gravity wheel uh before they changed the configuration so and i got to drive road atlanta in the rain which was awesome especially with the gravity wheel because down at the bottom of that gravity wheel is where all the water rolls across the track so every time you come down and hit that at speed your car's not on the track anymore it's above the track but you don't lift and you keep going and then it catches back and keeps going that was i really like road atlanta that's where i had one of my funnest adventures racing because we got to it was raining and we got to we didn't have any um we couldn't afford any rain tires so we just had our tires which were the same cars as we had for everything else we were running a mustang and we went around we even looked at there was a good goodyear dealership there and we were looking at um some you know some all-season rain tires or whatever and they're way too expensive and then we found a guy that was a short track guy and he told us about some hoosier dirt stalkers and he's like but they were slicks and we're like we're not putting slicks on this car in the rain that's foolish she said dude you need to try these so we made us a really good deal on them and we ran them in the rain and they were fantastic and i knew when i went by um the archer brothers who did not have rain tires on but did have all-wheel drive talons when i went by them under braking into a turn and this thing hooked up i knew that we had something it was it was amazing i was working my way right up to the front and we didn't have the car for that or the driver for that matter um but we did have really good tires and unfortunately the rain stopped and and then the tires just went away i was driving around trying to find puddles to cool them off but it was to no avail and we just started moving back and back but they work really well in the rain it was amazing uh wizard i i have slept here on the floor on a cot in in a sleep bag all kinds of stuff in the past i haven't run the enforcer heads yet the afr stuff yet uh angel take a look at the cylinder head test for that both of those heads will support a 408 miata miatas are amazing track cars and skip skip barber stuff there that's really good that's really good stuff to take uh mafia the nice thing about this there's lots of good valve springs out there john grand tree smells exactly the same thing i've run laguna take a lot of that's a that's a really good track also i really like road america because it's long and it was the only one when i was running us touring car in my 95 built soul it was the only one we actually got to get into fifth gear in so you know i was we're up there on the big end uh lauren take a look at the head test and you'll see what what it does support them ported 243 heads can flow as well and work as well as a set of trick flow 225's or 235s so there's a lot of power to be had from that if you have enough motor going under them if you have a mild six liter then i wouldn't bother if you have a six liter that you're trying to make 600 horsepower with and you have a good intake manifold on it a big camshaft in it then ported heads are a good idea uh six liter desired output is 700 horsepower uh if it's 700 horsepower and it's a turbo 6 liter you pick you could just close your eyes and pick anything on the shelf that says cam on it and put it in your 6 liter and it will make that power you can do that really with with almost with a stock cam but any any stage 1 or stage 2 n a or turbo cam will work perfect for that uh goes to 11 how many books have you published i think i think it's 10 it might be 11 but i think it's 10. i i've driven a monster miata which was a lot of fun and we actually put our we put our old world challenge motor in it um and it was a a gt40 dart-headed you know mild cam kind of thing i think it had an x-cam in it and big rockers or something on it it made about 320 at the tire but the monster miata had a kenny built supercharged motor and we were going to run in a silver state silver state and it would just there's no way that we would run it with that blower motor in there we know that would have just destroyed itself so we put that we put the n a motor in it and that car went 167 miles an hour and it was it was absolutely diabolical to drive every turn i went around the thing wanted to um swap ends it was not good i think it was an aerodynamic center pressure thing because we come off the ground and the thing just wanted to rotate and my buddy bernie was with me he's looking over him he's like because you can't you can't really talk he's like dude what are you doing are you getting spunky here i'm like dude that's not me and so he's like reaching over snugging his like harnesses down a little bit more i said oh yeah we're in for a ride uh john for under 400 horsepower you don't need that just ported stock ones will work fine uh joe that cam is going to work good with a turbo i mean you know you could get something with a little more lift although it's a 103 lsa am i reading that right admiral if you're going to take it apart put put gap in it man although that's a that's a small bore so you know three and a half times seven it's not gonna need it's not gonna need 28. i i would like to put the 4200 in the nova i think it i think it needs to be there and so does the 3 800 the 4200 needs to be there the 3800 needs to be there and the k24 needs to be there uh somebody tell me what the name of the guy that ran the the drag race the lt1 car the stick shift guy the guy that has the fastest stick shift i can't remember his name but that guy's making crazy power although i don't know that he's i don't think he's doing it with a stock bottom in yeah it was it was pretty entertaining because he knows that he's a professional crew chief so he's been to le mans and he's been to daytona and he's done lots and lots of stuff and he's he's been with real drivers like with names like fit apology and stuff so he knows he knows what the deal is so he he realized um maybe how much trouble he was in no that's not cletus um what the heck's a guy's name somebody somebody look it up it's an lt1 it's a it's a second gen lt1 yeah grub worm that's it mario yeah that thing makes crazy power uh john is that the sniper kind of sheet metal intake manifold if you want to know how it does just take a look at the intake test either the the cathedral one or the ls3 one you're going to put the z01 lsa on your 5.3 that's a good combination you just have to you just need the adapters put a cam and springs and that blower on there and that 53 will be really fun uh chris the tdi um eric over here at west tech the guy that does the tuning um is a real tdi guys he's had several of them and he's got a passat right now and it's an all-wheel drive tdi so it's really cool and he's had others too and he's done lots of stuff to him so i've been hanging out over the chassis dyno when he's doing those doing turbo upgrades and boost upgrades and you know tricking the air temperature sensors and all that stuff that they do i like those because he's a you know he's we're always talking about the mileage because i had the civic vx and i had the sprint turbo before that so we're always talking about hey on this run i did this kind of mileage and stuff uh alan i've never done anything on the four-letter uh victor richard is there any budget supercharger cam freak for cam sixly or is any budget supercharger built for a cam six later i don't know what the least expensive way to go with the the torque storm supercharger kit i think for the ls is actually fairly inexpensive for a new thing and for 700 horsepower so it works pretty well i don't know about the wrecking yard stuff because i don't know what all's entailed i know that the lsa stuff is out there but everybody i've talked to has said the same thing that by the time you're done getting it all working that it's you know it's it's more expensive than people think because they see a blower for sale and lsa blower for sale they're like oh look how cheap that is that's like this the superchargers was fairly expensive but everything else that you need to make work is you know might not be it the stuff all adds up and that's really the same way for you know people talking about how cheap ls swaps are once you get done it's not as cheap as people talk about um you know the same thing with the turbo i can go buy a 163 dollar dna turbo and we did and it made lots of power but it only did that after we had to do a lot of things to make that turbo work we had intercooler and bigger injectors and we had a standalone management system which a lot of people don't have we had an endless amount of tubing and wastegates and you know all kinds of other things so when you add it all up it gets um it gets fairly expensive well do common aftermarket intakes work on 550 inch and larger strokers um if that's a if that's a big block then at that displacement you're going to want to definitely want to think about single plane intake manifolds chad i don't really know tuners out there a pro charger works really well like i said that f1 894 that we run a lot in the d1sc that we run that also it um it can make a lot of power uh blake i with the factory stuff if you make a change like if you were to put cams in it it's going to need to be tuned it's not going to self-compensate yeah kermit it does nickel and dime you and the thing is a lot of that is our fault because we decide that okay we've done that look i got my motor so cheap i should probably put headsets on our head gaskets i can get that turbo but it really needs a good intercooler you know i got to have cool tubing and i want to spend good money on a wastegate and on and on and on and on pretty soon it's it's it's like real money what's the rarest or most expensive part you tested the factory rochester fuel injection on 327 that was pretty big money um trying to think what else we ran that was like really cool um the thing that is most expensive around here are the cars that come in here that the chassis dino side does some of them are so much money that i don't even want to walk by them because because if i scratched it i couldn't afford to have the thing painted because they have you know it's their they have their their cars that guys spent three or four hundred thousand dollars on you know they're really really nice but they're not even cars that i would want to drive around because you're you'd be too worried that somebody like richard's gonna open their door into it or drop a motor on it uh seth i don't think the cadillac superchargers right now are a good deal the ebay gt45 is a lot cheaper but again it depends on which one and the gt45 might not be a great turbo for the 6 liter because it would be a little restrictive on something that big for a first gen six liter deer recommend 243s that's a good head if you have them they're they usually cost a lot of money got a set of 350 vortech heads go ahead and check for an older motor upgrade they are good for an older motor upgrade yeah i agree the whatever head you have on there especially for you know our our goal post is always a thousand horsepower build so whatever head you have on there just use that because you can you can do that you don't have to upgrade from a 241 head to a 243 head or 799 or 317 or now if you want to make that change because you're worried about compression and pump gas and that's a better decision but you know we've had lots and lots and lots of guys way back and especially before we did all the testing with the 706 and 799 stuff is that they would actually get rid of their 706 head and put a 799 or a 243 head on and then put a camshaft in and then put a turbo on it like you just wasted all of your money because you know for a thousand horsepower thing anything that you had on there was already going to do that if you put a stage one to whatever cam shaft in it and springs on whatever head you had you were gonna get there almost racing is it a 4 6 iron block is it a 4 6 aluminum block is it a four valve is a two valve give me some more information but we've done we've done thousand horsepower stuff with um 462 valves so you definitely can get there and guys have done a lot more than that on the texted blocks and the four valve stuff uh linda you could you could go to a 383 and that would help response and stuff but i think that you just spend the money on getting that getting the blower and a cam and springs on the 5.3 and then drive it around and see how much power you you know if you have enough that you like uh carl you need to take a look and see what the chamber size is on the heads that you have now and versus the heads that you're putting on because even though the vortech heads might flow better uh you need to check and make sure that you're not changing the um compression dramatically to the bad side i think that i think the chambers on the vortech heads are fairly small but some of the 305 stuff is even smaller yeah eric it makes a lot more sense to put cheap parts and spend some money on getting it tuned correctly because you can you can definitely ruin it quickly goes to 11. i don't know who i don't know who rock solid motorsports is so yeah i don't i don't think i would run the iron uh because the aluminum heads are so cheap to find i don't think i would run iron ls heads i've only ever done anything with one set of them and all we did was take them off the motor that we used for one of the big bang deals it was from chad reynolds they were on his he was a real early sixth leader in 99 or 2000 and we just took him off uh matt you're gonna want to go six and a half or seven thousands per inch of bore so we usually go between 28 and 30 on a four inch bore dennis the gt45 would work uh i'm monster so you're putting a tvs 2650 and you have 8 23 or 821 heads the a23 and 821 heads flow more and will make more power than a 243 unless you have the 243s professionally ported then they will make more than a stock record head does for a 408 you have enough cubic inches so put the bigger head on and that way put a camshaft in it and then you'll make more n a power and then the blower won't work as hard or you won't have a you'll have a lower boost level for any kind of power goal you're looking for i haven't done an 89 or an 87 grand national motor to see how much power it takes but deltweller did and kenny bell did and lots of those guys did back in the day they they ran insane power levels on admiral an 823 head is very good uh the slayer 93 take a look at the video that's up called um what was the name of thor's hammer stormbreaker it's called stormbreaker it's a carbureted 403 balance shaft motor and we also ran it with a supercharger and we did a cam upgrade on it i've heard a lot about 62 cadillac heads what do you think about them on a 99.6 liter uh it doesn't matter that it's a cadillac head it just matters that it's a version of the ls so if it's a rec port head like an ly6 or any of those or an ls3 style record head then it will work well on your ls on your 6 liter trevor we open the first and second rings the top and the second ring not not the oil ring yeah the iron block will work fine the iron the iron 462 valve block will work fine i think that the iron ls heads are like an iron version of the 317. have you ever done a 2002 ls6 yeah they've downloaded those here boys yeah some and we get conflicting results from different or information from the different ring manufacturers some of them want more gap on the top frame because there's more heat there some of them a lot more gap in the second ring for my stuff we just put gap in both of them i didn't i wasn't really particular about what i did the parts should be in the video that we ran on the 43 all the important ones that we used uh dagon if you take a look i put it in the comments but i'll write it down again here so if you guys are just joining i have a couple of motors i'm going to be getting rid of i want to i have a 500 inch cadillac that i'm selling and i have the 4 8 uh forged ls 1000 horsepower wazoo turbo motor and a 5 liter ford an aluminum headed five meter forward good like right right under 400 horsepower dual plane carbureted aluminum headed five meter forward and a possibly the six liter uh the big bang motor so if you're interested in any of those excuse me let me know will poor 317 and shave 20 thousands work good with a little dome i i would not put a dome piston in there i don't like dome pistons um but you should put a flat top piston in there if you want to shave the head you can although i don't if it's a turbo motor you don't need to do either one of those things because the head is not holding you back from making the power that you want to make if you want to make a thousand horsepower you put a thousand horsepower turbo on it that cylinder head with springs and cam will do that you don't have to get tricky with because the problem is when you shave the head you're weakening the deck you want a strong deck i would rather have the strength in the deck than a little bit more compression if you want to change the compression just go grab a 706 head that everybody throws away and put those on and those will make more power than the 317 does but they will still make a thousand horsepower with your thousand horsepower turbo uh mike you got to send me an email the 48 might be spoken for um it's a forged piston cam springs titanium retainer hardened pushrod stuff but i think that i i had somebody that i talked to and i need to get back a hold of them and give them first shot and if they don't want it then we'll put that up e3 spark plugs i'm not installing a big bang motor in anything so mark you already know what it does do you have two uh s475s on there mohabits probably has a lot of records that his little 46 really makes some steam i i'd have to go back and look what the ls6 made they were rated at 385 or 420 405 back in the day and i i think a stock one the way that we run it probably made basically what an ls2 makes which is somewhere near 465 stock um the way that we run it with long tube headers and no accessories and you know it's cold and optimized tune and all that uh james send me an email i put my email down we can talk about the five leader eric you smash that like that's what we like don't just be nice to it don't just just don't suggest the like you know step up make it happen 1990 carbureted type 6 out of my monty primitive but ahead of its time so almost racing i need to do a call out and tell everybody you guys should be pressing the like button come on it's friday night i'm spending time with you guys and would i get no likes what's up with that i will do donuts and ice cream on a turbo 48 nice james the email address we'll put it down again boom right there andy the slant six is going good the the head's done i was supposed to be delivered today so that i could put it on they delivered the cadillac and the head was supposed to come with it and a honda b series was supposed to come with it but alas that did not happen the video of the blower on the six liter will come out after we do the testing of the blower on the six liter were you uh 201 231 were you here when we were talking about what what all went into the big bang motor and that is different now uh kenny wait a minute if you're getting rid of all those motors what will go in the nova i know if i get rid of those motors that will only lead me with like 10 or 12 and more coming so there's no shortage of motors so mark did you let me know oh no turbo this is okay as you can see did you let me know that you had twin s475s on there and we're turning it up to pass like richie's boost of 29 pounds what's your favorite mod motor though the one that was in my ford gt was really you know high on the list eric what's up you still need to set up your dang patreon i'm buying for the one year plan yeah i can have the um that's right you need to get those motors going huh oh god there's so much stuff i get rid of any modular fords i already did that i got rid of a two valve a high compression two valve motor check out rsm are those the guys that did grub worm yeah the 544 valve made made good power ohio i thought you asked me what a stock one makes and that's a wheel horsepower number so you're not you're not really comparing things there okay digging i'll check all that stuff after i get off what do i have um i have a gen 6 454 that we pulled out of the wrecking yard that's been sitting for quite a while i was going to do a um i think that we're going to do we were i cuz i have another one that's the big bang motor and i have that that we're supposed to run and put the turbos on and then i'm trying to think of what the heck else is over there um the buick is uh getting ready to go back on the dyno what else is over there the l83 the rb25 i don't know i have to think there's there's some other ones uh tim i'm gonna have to draw a diagram on that and see what's going on are you you're internally wastegating it gen 6454 for the patreon program so you want to build 454 to be given away or auctioned off or patreon out tim did you decide whether to build a 318 or 360. i actually want to do both um i kind of want to compare a 318 to a 360. so the people out there that think that the 318 is the most underrated best motor ever made in the history of the world can see that it's actually just another motor and it does exactly what a 318 inch motor is supposed to do and will do less than what a 360 inch motor does because we all know what a bigger motor does yes i have an rb25 nine miles in the house uh kyle the ls content is good but that's why i do the other guy's stuff and everything else because i i like everything i'm worried that if you uh eric i'm worried that if you if you split the gate and and have that go to atmosphere because we had that problem when we were doing the compound boost deal and you don't want to get rid of that exhaust energy you want to channel that 74-75 precision i think we did to our 1300 with a 76.75 so somewhere less than that it's a good trans for a 500 you're gonna have to have a 480e to if you if you've got a turbo five three we don't know yet about the blower on the on the uh the 600 i've done some um and i know this will upset people i i've done some uh preliminary polls on it at lower rpms and it does make a lot of torque it's up like it's 604 or 650 foot-pounds uh jim the rv 25 isn't for sale yet it may be later on um actually i was gonna i have a 71 240z that i would really like to put that in but i have a bunch of testing planned for the rb25 we just got trigger wheel for it so we're going to run a bunch of intake stuff and a bunch of turbo stuff exhaust i want to do cams for it i'd like to port the head i want to flow the head to find out how well or or not well it flows but i do want to do some stuff with that okay mine was stock fast intake headers rockers uwp so you can't say mine stock and then after that start lifting i'll start listing out the mods that you made to it so you have to say mine was not stock the word you're looking for is modified and then now here are the modifications that we made to it because the fast intake is not stock headers are not stock ewp rockers and yadda yadda yeah mike the the 318 is uh was always like a low you know low performance two barrel yeah they probably had a four barrel version but it was never a performance motor they that's not what they offered for anything like it was not the 340 was kind of their performance motor and in my opinion one of the the i think it's an e58 um 360 i think was probably their best boner um so i'd like to i want to do a tripower 340 six-pack deal and build one of those and then see what it does and compare it to the boss 351 see if it can compete with that which i don't think it can but then more than that i want to do the 360 the low compression 360 that they had later on and see how that compares to that smaller 340. how far from washington state are you i'm in california and right now i'm in southern california uh tim i did look at the 2.4s when i was at the wrecking yard because i was looking for a 2.2 chrysler the og one and there there are lots of those 2.4s they're um pt cruisers if that's the one that you're talking about pt cruisers and those turbo versions there was a whole bunch of those i don't know much about those i i you know went down the rabbit hole in the 2.2 in the 2.5 and then the turbo one two three four yada yada but the um i haven't looked at the other ones i was looking at people doing the srt swaps into the early omnis and stuff which i think is kind of cool because i think that that later motor is certainly better but i haven't um you know found out how much power they make and that kind of stuff yeah timmy that's what that's what um [Music] uncle tony kind of said the same thing that he thought that the 318 makes as much power as the 360. and i would find that i i think the dino is going to tell us that that's not what's happening shad johnson i see you use a turbo adder pro charger to make 700 horsepower what's your preference turbo pro charger they they do different things they have different boost curves they they would accelerate differently on the same motor they both can make a horsepower number but that's not what you're trying to do we can build an n a motor that makes 700 horsepower too it's going to do it differently than either one of those the charger has a rising boost curve the turbo is going to come up and then have more average boost in a more average power production than the procharger it does it also doesn't have parasitic loss associated with driving it like the procharger does um it has pumping losses i guess you could say for the exhaust but that those are really minor compared to the losses associated with driving a supercharger but both of them will do what you want them to do we've made you know 1200 horsepower with like an f1 894 so if you're if those are your needs but take a look at the take a look at the power curve we ran the procharger to um man i want to i thought it was like a thousand horsepower or something on the 5.3 but it's way out at the top of the rpm range and stuff so take take a look at those and just see what kind of power curve you want buy a cheap leash for that crank walk 4g63 had a 1989 dodge daytona cs turbo 2.5 yeah those were good in 89 they started offering the 2.5 as the turbo one and then you could get the four valve the lotus four valve version and then the maserati one and the turple three stuff and all kinds of crazy things okay we've got seven minutes i'm gonna go an hour and a half and then then we're all done i can get 600 out of my oq-9 trailblazer intake sloppy stage two custom exhaust don't forget the tune you gotta have the tuning in there the uh ca434 the six the o6 is still in the back of my truck but i'm unloading it tonight so i can put it on a stand pancho you need to send me an email yeah the pro charger can be easier on the driveline because of so if you a lot of times turbos can create traction issues ryan i'm not going to do a big bang on the k20 lots of guys have have built k20s that make a million horsepower although nobody i've seen does it with a stock bottom in ryan actually secretly what i want to build is a k10 gtr we use stock oil pans when we run the big bang stuff i wouldn't go do that probably road racing but for the stationary dino it's really easy so if i stay with my turbo 4 8 and just do a cam i want to stay with a 211 duration it depends on how much power you want to make yep can't forget the tune it's all in the tune just don't let the tune fall out though the tune falls out and also when you get the tune then you can always blame the tune for for everything that happens every bad thing that happens we blame the tune yeah ryan you're not going to find anything because that's a that's a ritchie only i don't know if that if the uh bugatti engine will fit in the viper i really like the vipers i like the viper gts's uh ghost i don't it takes a lot of power to hurt the stock crank yeah crash bandit i i can show you what the timing curve looks like when we do the rb uh nico i don't know about the on three stuff i've never tried anything of theirs i don't know about mounts for your um conquest i don't know about swap stuff yeah chris we've got a mechanical throttle body on ours i don't i haven't ever done the borah guess 482 we've i i have done some stuff on a s480 but it was a smaller i think we might have even did an ar test on the s480 but it was a it was a turbo that was sent to fryeburger and he's let me use it before but it was set up i think with a small housing because it was going to run on a 5.3 but it's a bill wheel deal and it it has obviously the potential to make a lot of power yes tyler i should see you here tomorrow night the you you can get power boat with both of those on a turbo six liter it can be efi or carb that's usually a choice of what kind of intake you want to run lots of blow through carbureted stuff out there with single planes with big boost making lots of power lots of blow through stuff with long runner intakes making lots of power or short runner intakes it just depends on what you want to do i haven't run an s366 and i probably should because that's that's a pretty popular turbo i just don't have one yeah that's an interesting consideration brian or on the remote stuff do guys do all guys have do they mount their turbos high enough so they can drain back into the thing because some of them are in the bed of the trucks and stuff but i would imagine that they have to do remote pumps on those a fast will always make a lot more power than an ls6 we've run those tests from i don't know first one was 10 or 12 years ago probably every time we run a fast it makes more power than an ls6 than an ls2 than a trailblazer ss it makes more power than any of the factory manifolds um i haven't tested any of the modded ones though um i'd like to try the ls3 stuff and see if the ported ones do better than because the fast ls3 is not much or any better than a factory ls3 but the ported ones are supposed to be better so i'd like to see that what size injectors do you use for your 700 horsepower 6 liter you can do that with 53s or 75s or 120s or 150s any of those will work 53s will be a little on the marginal side but n a it's easy if it's boosted then it's going to be harder so you have to have something bigger than that 75s would work or 80s 80s are really common what kind of oil pressure do you see the oil pressure is usually it is usually since these are stock motors with tight clearances even though they've run a lot of miles the clearances are still fairly tight so the oil pressure is good yeah chris decapping them if only or were that easy we kyle we've already done big bang four eights and five threes uh and yeah well we talked earlier about all of the engines yeah 200 likes way to go tyler see it's all it's all from your health uh dan i i've we've done some testing on port matching and i've yet to see something significant come out of it i want it to work and it should but i just haven't seen it i've we've done tests of ported fast intake manifolds that guys have done and i just i i don't know if you know if it if there's power there we'll see it on the dyno we can measure it but we just don't see it that's and i'm not saying that it can't be done or that it's not there i'm just saying that when we've tested it it hasn't been there yet ooh a big bang 409 i i wouldn't want to hurt a 409 i would actually like to have one of those those are kind of cool yeah chris the on the um if you're talking about this motor with the sts blower on it we did a i did a 90 degree bend it's a a half inch tubing going up to a four inch and then i have a plate that i mounted 102 millimeter throttle body on and then the throttle body is remote mounted i don't think throttle body spacers work we've tried and we've tried index indexing plugs on two occasions one was when we had to index them because they had to miss the the dome but that was out of necessity the other one we tried rotating them so that they were in the position of toward the flame travel and we didn't see anything so i i'm not saying that it doesn't work i'm just saying that when i tested it one time and didn't work i'm like okay okay i don't think there's much there even if there were to be something there i i just don't know how much it would be uh shad we use the stock throttle body you can use a stock throttle bike for boost on the big bang stuff we just use the bigger throttle body on the fast manifold because the opening in the pass manifold is bigger so it didn't make any sense to try to put a smaller throttle body on that we just put one that was sized for the opening and the throt in the manifold which we always do and then we just blow into that but you don't you don't necessarily need something that big from just because it's a six liter uh google we probably would use a um probably use a mega squirt frankie the best ls manifold is a fast up to 6500 otherwise you should stay with a factory one i'm looking for some afr290 or 300 oval port big block heads i don't have anything like that do you note the stock stall speed on a 1984 camaro z28 is i'm thinking it's going to be 1800 or so oh direct injected motors can benefit from index plugs yeah i haven't tried that back when people were indexing plugs it was on old school stuff but uh chris i don't use hp tuners i only use hp holley hp and then i tune on that stay hydrated tyler the trailblazer ss is still the best oe cathedral port intake for 750 horsepower in a six liter just pick any stage one or stage two cam put springs on it and then put boost in an intercooler running 85 that's all you need to do a big bang 702 gmc v12 do you think running a dark crank and intake with an extremely high compression ratio on 85 okay good power from a vortec 8.1 i don't know what the i don't know enough about the head flow on the stock head we run leo we run mechanical throttle bodies on everything except for the l83 which has because we're running the factory ecu on that they they do they do actually space the throttle body so i guess in that sense they they've moved the throttle body away from the intake so maybe they are doing their job i've got a fancy one that has the it came off of one it was on one of the junkyard motors that i got so i thought oh cool i scored a throttle body spacer i should have sold that or maybe i should give it away to you guys i need to go dig it out of my um storage so somebody maybe in one of these upcoming live feeds i can give away the spacer because it's one of the i think it's one of the corkscrew ones on the inside you know because that swirls the air and gets the gets the tumble and the turbulence and the high speed spinning power i i've not run a texas speed turbo cam i ran i've run a couple of their cams back in the day on n a stuff and they work good i i don't know about an srt4 i like those cars i think that they're cool um but you would have to see if the srt4 goes on the same bell housing or something all of that might work i just want to run the little 2.2 liter on the engine dyno i thought about throttle body spacers are good for paperweight uh ghost the guy i like the guys from cam motion i like steve over there they do really good he's a smart guy they do really good work he's he's a good person also um i've not tried any of their low lash solid stuff i don't normally run solid rollers on anything yeah see andy that's that's more my kind of stuff um did if you saw i don't know if you saw it did you watch the um i'm hoping that i put it in there because i know that we tested it when i ran the 292 inline six cylinder chevy we read the one barrel carburetor that was on it and i made a super stack on top of it so it's a bit i think it was two inch a big piece of two inch aluminum tubing and a radius entry on the top but i thought now this thing's really going to make some torque but it didn't seem to it didn't have the desired effect maurice wants to see max n a power on an lq4 the lq4 if you're running a stock bottom end is limited by um the available piston to valve clearance so you can only fit so much camshaft in it so you put a good head that has head flow you can put this kind of camshaft in it because it has this much and then if you put some guys could run a single plane intake manifold and you could run the rpm out but again you don't have enough camshaft to really make power out there but you can kind of make that work for me the goals would be to make like on a 5'3 if you could make 500 horsepower with a stock head that would be cool on a 5.3 and i haven't seen it done yet i've had guys tell me but i have guys tell me that they do that somehow their motor their stock motor where the tune makes all this power like they've found something special that nobody else has ever seen before that defies the laws of physics and on a six leader if somebody could get 600 that would be those would be really good numbers yeah eric that's what's happening is you you are extending the plenum volume a little bit although the reason that you don't see big power is because the helmholtz resonance also takes into account the air intake so it's the length of the air intake so with with the plenum spacer you might not actually be doing that or you're changing it very very little from a percentage standpoint uh philip i do have some uh not audi 1.18 but volkswagen 1.8 t so it's the same motor in a golf back in the day we did some programmers on it and exhaust and maybe a turbo upgrade i think that i think he might have done an intercooler too i know i need to get back to work i'm hanging out with all the boys you know hector just step up with a question man you don't have to say i have a question just have the question i know i need to make some fancy turbo manifolds not me but i need to have some fancy turbo manifolds made for the for the 4200 hector you got to give me more information than that what year is your toyota pickup what are you doing with it what do you what do you need toya a toyota pickup should have a toyota motor in it or any other cool thing that you like i i haven't run solid rollers and in ls motors because i haven't seen a need to do that since you can run the rpm range that that that 99 of the people would be running with with a hydraulic roller and i don't go build motors for like sam or those other guys that are building dedicated 10 000 rpm drag race motors where you would take advantage of a solid roller that's not what i've been doing and what this channel is about that's why solid rollers we use a lot on big block chevys and stuff but just not on the ls applications i do i do like me some battle bots yeah eric the hemel's residence is a resonating volume of the plenum a lot of guys think that that it's just the plenum but it's not it's the plenum and the runner of the one that's working the runner and half of the um cylinder when the valve is open and the air intake tube so there's a lot going on there oh so heck if you're doing for drag racing then put a turbo ls in it bill considering the fact that we made 1500 horsepower with the cask stock cast crankshaft i think that's probably underrated if anything yeah hector does have spoon engines can you fit a bigger cam at a stock bottom ly6 than an lq4 i don't think so because i the i think the interference for the piston the valve is not going to be where one might because both of those have dish pistons in them although one of them i think has valve reliefs the ly6 i thought had valve released now i just took this one apart not long ago um but i don't i and well maybe with a stock valve maybe that would be okay and the ly6 has a valve relief because it has variable cam so maybe i don't know i actually haven't tried that see that's why i'm here to learn new stuff that is worth a coke am i i think i'm [Music] i should have ordered pizza tonight then we could add pizza yeah ghost i saw the faller turbo manifold if that's how to pronounce it it looks pretty cool yeah i'd have to i'd have to clay both of those and go through the rigmarole to find out which one has more vowel but even if it does have more valve relief i don't know how much more valve you could i mean how much more cam time you could put in i want to do a mock-up and i want to cut an engine apart and so that i can show that in like a real view of what's going on when we change lift and when we change duration i didn't upgrade the valves at all on these big bang motors but if you're running it for a long time it's probably a good idea yeah chad i've seen uh that 4200 content my least favorite engine is always the one that's not cooperating like this one was not cooperating today and i went through changing a lot of stuff to figure out what was what was wrong have you done a stage one turbo shootout i don't know what this a stage one turbo would be or an nsr turbo cam shootout nope i've done either one of those i haven't ever seen any lt engines at the juncture i don't see something that's that new i've never tried joe mondello zinc tech yeah eric if somebody gives you a hard time because you're asking a question then that's because they're an idiot not not because you are uh gtr all the things that we ran on the dyno were were the all the big bang motors where all the stock stuff that came from the wrecking urine we didn't change anything well we changed the heads in the cam and the intake manifold but on the bottom stuff it was it was the original chain the original lifters all of that mario take a look at the video i have up comparing the l83 to an lm7 and also to an uh lq4 and you'll see how nice the variable cam and the high compression and the lt stuff is uh dan i think you're gonna have a problem with well first of all the stock ls one would be one seven so you'd be going from a one seven to a one nine which is a lot and you're gonna have going to a different rocker you're going to have valve float issues with that especially going to a 1 9. sean you picked up 150 horsepower to the tire with a custom intake so how much how much did the boost change uh steph and marshall do you approve of double roll or timing chains for analysis i i don't ever run them and and the reason i don't run them more is because uh maybe i'm too lazy to have to grind the timing cover or you know space to pump or do anything that we'd have to do to make the double roller timing chain work um and all of the factory stuff has worked really well for all the things that we've done or the factory style single roller so sean send me some information let me know what kind of motor it was and what the intake change was oh kyle cool see that's one of the things i wanted to do i i wanted to start out with a stock one and then we would intercooler it and run e85 and do all that stuff and you know go through all the down pipe and what the intercooler upgrade was and all that stuff yeah a double front cover gasket can can work christopher the iran both the holly has two versions of that sniper intake which is the same thing that the fitec is i think the the one with the longer runner makes a little bit more torque but it's not much both of those are short runner manifolds and they need to um they need to be longer than that to make more power down low that's why if you look at the manifold test this the you know you compare all the stuff to a fast it's not in an in the cathedral or ls world it's hard to beat the fast just like if you compare everything in the ls3 world to the factory ls3 intake it's really hard to beat for 6 500 or so and below sean is that for me i'll put my email down and it's been almost two hours guys i gotta go gtr 2 gt35s way too much boost for aluminum if you're trying to make those will make a thousand horsepower otherwise i'm going to be trying some gt3076s and so those should be a little bit smaller thanks guys for showing up and i will see you all uh trent paul which is it comes in at the last minute with 10 bucks way to go now maybe i can get pizza for tonight thanks guys thanks for showing up i'll see you guys tomorrow let's make some noise oh and by the way here's a little uh a little inside we did run a little bit on the 6-0 and it makes lots of torque but it's struggling at the top so i'm having trouble with it so i might have to do a video on all the struggles that i had with it and hopefully we can figure all that out and you know come out as a winner in the end i will see you guys tomorrow
