hi everyone welcome back to my channel it's that time of the month where i do my monthly reading wrap up and show and tell you guys about every single book i've read this month i moved this month and school started so there was a few barriers in my way from reading as much as i wanted to but i did still make some good progress i read 11 books this month so that's pretty good not too bad so yeah without further ado let's just get right into talking about these books it was a great reading month like literally almost all of these books are four stars four and a half stars which is really really good for me it was like such a good reading month like after every book i was like that book was so good and then i went to the next it was like that book was so good there's only a few flops i think there's only like one or two so let's start talking about the books the first book i read this month was daisy jones and vi i filmed a reading vlog of me reading seven husbands evelyn hugo and daisy jones and the six i loved both of the books so so much i'm not even gonna explain them because you can just go watch my reading blog which will probably be the video right after this one everyone has been begging me to post this video and i'm so sorry it's taking me so long i literally had two and a half hours worth of footage that i had to edit through and it's been a process i'm still only like halfway through editing it it was gonna be my next upload but the end of the month approached sooner than i thought so this is gonna go up before it but daisy jones is the first one if you wanna go watch my reading blog stay tuned for the next video i post then i read not pretending anymore by penelope ward and by keeland this cover i'm just gonna hold it like this i guess doesn't really help this book is about molly and she needs a roommate and fast she's a night doctor night nurse she works through the nights i don't know but she needs a roommate so she starts holding like these interviews for all these different girls to move in and also this guy comes and she's like uh this must be a mistake i'm only looking for girl roommates he is like i need a place i won't bother you do you have any other candidates that are ahead of me and she's like no everyone that i've interviewed is weird and he ends up convincing her to let him move in he does this by being like i'm not even interested in you i'm already in love with someone else and the girl's like okay well if he's not even gonna try anything might as well so he moves in and they start becoming really good friends and they start talking about like their relationships so molly is seeking out a doctor at her work and declan is also like really obsessed with this girl at his job so they both have like other partners they're pursuing so they decide to use each other and like kind of fake date fake flirt with each other in front of the person they're actually interested in to motivate them to get together and obviously this fake flirting fake dating fake banter turned into like real jealousy and confusing feelings i thought we were supposed to like someone else does he still like the other girl does she still like the other guy i don't know and we live together for proximity it was really good and i really enjoyed it then i read twisted games by anna huang she actually sent me this which is so cool and she signed it but i read twisted love last month which is the first book and then twisted games came out right after which was like perfect timing twisted games is a bodyguard romance so royalty and bodyguard and it's slow burn they're in this like professional relationship for years before anything romantic happens obviously there's time jumps and stuff the book is pretty long though but i love this book it was pretty like steamy the tension between them and like the build up he was very like professional and like wanted to stick to like just being her bodyguard and she was dealing with a lot with having to leave college and move back to her like kingdom and i really liked this couple and this relationship and their dynamic it was really good so thank you anna hong for sending me that then i read the friend zone everyone recommended me this i know it's part of like a companion novel series so i'm gonna read it i promise and read the whole thing because this one was really good it does have a trope i hate which is i'm not being with you because i'm protecting you but they did it in such a way that it kept me hooked because they were never together there was something always in the way basically kristin has a boyfriend and he's in the military but she ends up meeting this guy named josh while her boyfriend's overseas or wherever he is i forget where he is she meets this guy they become really good friends they have like instant like banter and it's like funny they make fun of each other nothing romantic but he instantly gets a crush on her like i feel like it was like from the first moment they met he had a crush on her but she was obviously still trying to be faithful to her boyfriend not let any feelings arise he starts actually working for her um she's a business owner so there's forced proximity they hang out so much her best friend is dating his best friend that's how they met and how they like are always around each other basically the whole plot of this book is he broke up with his long-term girlfriend because he wanted to start a family he wants to have a lot of kids his girlfriend wasn't ready for that and then kristen is keeping a secret from everyone that she was actually diagnosed and she isn't able to have children when kristen finds out why josh left his ex-girlfriend she convinces herself it's never gonna work between them he deserves better than me i can't give him what he wants so she stays away from him at all costs even though she like loves him so much he doesn't know she keeps this a secret that she can't have children so he doesn't understand why she keeps pushing him away this like impossible barrier that neither of them can change is in their way it was really frustrating to read but i loved the romance so much and will definitely be reading the rest of this companion novel series it was my first book by this author and it was really good next i read it happened one summer by tessa bailey tessa bailey also sent me this the author which is so cool like what i just i don't have words anyway basically piper is like an la socialite she's super rich just goes to parties doesn't have a job and just like hangs out their friends and parties and lives the l.a lifestyle and she ends up throwing this huge party and getting in a lot of trouble and her stepdad ends up telling her she has to move to this small little fishing town i think in washington where her biological dad worked and lived and where she was born but her bilateral dad passed away so her stepdad is sending her to that place to get more in touch with herself to find herself and he tasks her with like starting this bar where she has to like renovate it and run it and basically work there she's so not happy about it and as soon as she gets there she meets brendan who is so grumpy does not want her there does not think she fits in does not want to accept her and thinks the worst of her and is rude to her but you can tell that he's so attracted to her it's also a dual point of view which i really enjoyed and you can see how he's like trying to stay away from her because he's like oh she's everything i stand against but they're so attracted to each other he is like a deep sea fisherman which is exactly the job her dad was they start a relationship sort of and it was really good also pretty steamy i literally cried in this book though which i was not expecting to and i thought it was really really good a perfect summer read and if you liked the simple wild by k.a tucker you would love this book it's the same like dynamic and it was really enjoyable next i read wait for it by mariana zapata this is a big book i read like four huge books this month so that's another thing that slowed me down because this is like equivalent to two books wait for it is actually one of my new favorite miranda zapata books i thought it was so good and i was not expecting that it is about diana who is vanessa from the wall of winnipeg's best friend which is so like cool i love how all her books tie together sorry if you can hear my air conditioning i can't control it it turns on and off very frustrating so bear with me but so diana's brother passed away and he had two children she was left to take care of these kids and she's super young taking care of these two kids on her own but trying to provide for them as best as she can and they live in this nice little neighborhood in this nice little house until one day she hears screaming outside and she goes outside and finds this man getting literally jumped and so she helps him breaks up everything that's going on brings him inside his house where she meets dallas who lives in that house and it was actually a brother that was getting jumped she's kind of just like keep your brother in line we're trying to keep our neighborhood safe diana is so cute with these two little boys like the family dynamic in this book is literally so adorable i usually hate the way children are written in books but i think marianas potter did a perfect job at like writing these kids to actually act like kids and they were so funny and so sweet the older son josh he's 11 is a baseball player and he joins a team and it turns out that dallas is the team's coach so now every time diana breaks in baseball she sees dallas josh and dallas are forming a relationship dallas ends up coming over a few times to help her with things around the house and a very slow burn relationship starts between them the found family in this book is so cute the way that dallas is with the kids the way that diana is with the kids and then their relationship in general is so good i really really love this book and i was not expecting to love it that much i definitely recommend you read this if you love a good slow burn then as soon as i read that i was like okay i need another marion as a potty book and fast so then i read allroad lead here by marietta zapata this is also slow burn big book and it was really good too like she's never ever disappointed me she's definitely one of my like favorite authors ever and i can't wait to read like every book she's ever had this book is about aurora and her mom actually went missing and was never found so it's kind of like this cold case mystery aurora ends up moving back to the town that her mom went missing in and where she grew up and has all these memories with her mom because she just went through a really messy divorce and wants just get back in touch with herself move back to where she came from remember her mom she found like this guest house for rent online so when she pulls up to the guest house she like goes inside everything and the homeowner actually comes in it's like what are you doing in my house and she's like your house was up for rent what do you mean what am i doing and he's like my house is not a parent it was a whole miscommunication and rhodes his name that was literally in the title rhodes is actually single parent to a teenage boy and again i usually don't love the single parent trope but i loved it in this so basically his son was the one that put the property up for rent without his knowledge and at first he doesn't want her to stay at all he's very rude to her but then he ends up like letting it happen and so she moves in so there's forced proximity she's like living kind of like in their yard like in the guest house she forms a super cute relationship with his son and i think that's what like kind of made him notice her at first and then they have a slow burn relationship obviously he's super protective of her and this book was just really really good and written really well the development of their relationship felt very realistic their boundaries they set for each other and everything i just really enjoyed it and i would definitely recommend as well as every marion is a potted book i've literally ever read next i read marriage for one by ella mays this book is also really thick slow burn but so so good i buddy read this book with my friend and it was so fun basically jack is this super rich guy that like owns i don't even know what he does he's a lawyer he literally owns a law firm that's literally how they met i don't know how i forgot that and rose yes they have the titanic names that was definitely dead on purpose they make allusions to it all the time rose was engaged and then her fiance randomly ghosted her with no explanation and just never talked to her again and so she's kind of lost confused trying to figure out what to do next this kind of is confusing to explain in short term but basically rose inherits a property but she only gets it if she's married because it she was supposed to be getting married to this other guy but now she's not married so she's not getting the property basically jack wants the property so he proposes that they get engaged and married he's just straight up like this is a business deal let's get married you can get the property because she wants to start a coffee shop on the first floor and he wants the whole building so they come up with this agreement somehow she agrees like pretty quickly they go through with it they get married they have to convince everyone they're together everyone that's involved with the will and like what she was inheriting is like so annoyed because they were supposed to get it and they have to like fake date and go to all these events you can tell when it's fake dating and they're not faking it and he was such a softy on the inside he had such a hard exterior but i could tell how much he cared for her and the little things he would do for her were so sweet but then you get to a plot twist and you find out that he's been hiding stuff this whole time this book is dual point of view this book reminded me if marion is a part of wrote duel point of view that's what this was which was like everything i could ever dream of and more i can't wait to read more of ella mazes books but basically you see that he's kind of hiding something the whole book and being like when she finds out she's gonna hate me and now they're actually falling for each other and he's like should i tell her now but then i'm gonna lose her so when you find out what he actually did and then you're like oh my god and then you see how it ends up but i loved this book so much it was really good next i read a wish russ by tilly cole this was one of the books that didn't really do it for me this month it wasn't bad i found it very very very predictable and i don't like when books are really predictable so basically this book is about this boy named cromwell that was one thing i couldn't get past his name was literally cromwell so every time i said it in my head i was like cromwell but it's because he's british so like i i think that's a british name so it sounds different when i say in my accent than how he probably says it but in my head i was like i've never heard that name anyway he's like a dj edm huge famous dj and then he gets a scholarship to a music school in the u.s he ends up taking it but you don't know why you're like why would you take it it's like for classical music he's super brooding and you can tell he's been through a lot and he's not healed from it and when he gets to the school he meets his roommate his roommate seems like super like oh let's party let's do this this this they become instant friends and then his roommate's sister gets involved and she's the love interest she's super into music so they're both in the same program they have the same classes together and then they get paired to do a year-long project together as you probably assumed so now they're partners they have to see each other all the time to work on this but he refuses to help he is like so anti-classical music bonnie is like well how did you get into school if you don't even know how to play classical music why are you here basically and he's like i know how to play classical music but i don't and you find out why he doesn't and everything involved with his family and like that he has a lot of trauma but then there's another turn and classic tilly cole fashion i knew that it was coming and then towards the end i felt like so much started happening and i didn't really like it at the end i was like this i predicted first of all every single thing that was gonna happen from like the second half on and then the ending felt really repetitive and also wrong like that's just not how i wanted the book to go i kind of just predicted the entire thing so that's what i didn't love about it but it entertained me next book was an exciting one because i got set an arc of the legacy by l kennedy which comes out on september 21st she said it's like a bunch of book talkers which was exciting i read it in one sitting i don't really know if i can give you a synopsis because it hasn't come out yet but this book i thought was good i hyped it up a lot in my head and while it did live up to a lot of my expectations i felt like it wasn't what i expected i expected this book to kind of be everyone's happily ever after when it was really a whole story for each character that had like a beginning middle and end like with a conflict every story had a conflict and unnecessary fighting that i felt like i didn't want to see in this book like i didn't want to see them fighting it apart and like having problems like i wanted kind of it just to be where are they now happily ever after there was a lot of unnecessary conflicts a lot of things i felt like didn't need to happen you know every single character's point of view takes place three years after off-campus ends i thought it was really cute like everything that happened it says a wedding a proposal an elopement and a surprise pregnancy those things all did happen it was cool to see these characters again and jump back in and i just loved that i was like back in the off-campus world because off-campus my first series i read in high school i think i was 16 when i read it so it has a special place in my heart but yeah another thing i didn't really like though was i felt like each story ended very abruptly like each character's part like they alluded to a happily ever after but you didn't get to see it and i thought this book was you were gonna see everything and also the very ending like the very ending of this book was super cute i loved it but i wanted all the characters to come together and there'd be a huge cohesive goodbye where i could like feel content and be like okay i got closure but there wasn't like a moment where everyone came together at the end like i was expecting like a dinner scene or they all went to event together and they were all joking and laughing and reminiscing about the old times but i didn't get that and so i was kind of sad but i think i was just looking forward to that because in the only other epilogue novel i've read is some kind of perfect and that epilogue was literally just perfect like i got so much closure from that and while each couple in this did get like an ending it wasn't like a cohesive ending altogether you know what i mean but yeah this comes out september 21st so that's the legacy and then the last book i read this month i literally finished this morning and perfect timing for this video was neon gods by katie robert i've heard that it's really good and really steamy it is a hades and persephone retelling so like greek mythology vibes but you don't need to know anything about greek pathology to go into it it's literally just a romance so i was expecting some song of achilles vibes which is not what this was but i loved this book anyway so while it was really really steamy probably one of the steamiest books i've ever read it also had a really really good relationship development you watch them actually fall in love that had nothing to do with the like lust that's why i really really enjoyed it it was so good it's dual point of view hades is so misunderstood he has such a bad reputation but he is so soft and so caring and just oh he was so sweet to her and the way he felt for her and you see it happen and he kind of fell first and then you see her realize her feelings and there's a lot of conflict in this book she's set to marry someone else but i loved this book so much i started last night and finished this morning and i definitely recommend it it was super good so those were all of the books i read this month i hope you enjoyed seeing everything i read i have so many more book videos planned for the future thank you so much for watching you can follow me on my other social medias link down below as always and i'll see you in my next video very very soon bye [Music]
