GRUMPY x SUNSHINE romance book recommendations

hi everyone welcome back to my channel today is such an exciting video that i've been planning for like months now and reading so many books to get prepared for and obviously you can tell by the title that it's grumpy sunshine book recommendations love this trope so much it's one of my god tier tropes it never fails me i love it every single time i have so many recommendations today that i'm not even gonna be able to explain all of them so i'm gonna have to go into some honorable mentions because this is literally one of my favorite tropes and i seek it out all the time and i'm always asking gonna start off with the book that inspired this whole video as soon as i read this book i knew i had to do this video it was incredible and that was the fine print by lauren asher never read from this author before i know she has the dirty air series that i've not yet read but now i want to read it immediately i gave this book five stars which is incredible for me oh my god i loved it so much it is the epitome of grumpy sunshine and the covers beautiful so basically rowan is the male love interest his grandfather passes away who is basically like walt disney owns all these theme parks the biggest theme parks and like animation companies is literally walt disney but like fictional form and he passes away and in his will he leaves rowan and his two brothers these tasks that they need to complete in order to get their percentage of the company and rowan's task is he has to renovate and make the park a better place and rowan is super detached he has been through a lot he's ruthless does not care about the workers at the theme park literally only cares about himself making money and he's already a billionaire until he meets zara zara is employee at the park basically rowan tells her that her job is pointless and her opinion doesn't matter but zara has always dreamed of becoming a creator for dreamland she submits like this idea she has rowan sees it ends up promoting her he's so intrigued by her and how happy and bubbly and outgoing she is and he doesn't know why he is so drawn to her this is dual point of view by the way so it makes it even better and rowan is so intrigued by her that he ends up coming up like this alias and start texting her from a fake number pretending to be a normal employee at the park and talking to her day in and day out and she has no idea it's him her boss and so they form this texting relationship at the same time zara and rowan in real life they're starting to come to an understanding for each other and then they're getting super close over text but zara doesn't know it's him it was so so good read this book so quickly i could not put it down i just was never bored once not once did i want to stop reading that's what made me give it a five stars i loved it so much so excited to recommend this to you please read it the next book i'm gonna briefly mention because i'm reading it right now like i literally started it last night but it's luna and the live by mariana zapata i have so many mario's a pot of books to talk about today because she is like the queen of this trope i can't give a full synopsis of this book but what i've learned so far is basically luna has had a rough upbringing and she's been forced to raise all of her siblings and she's still super young but she works full-time at this auto body shop and her boss ripley that's his last name is so like grumpy and closed off and she brings some coffee every morning always says good morning to him and he kind of just like runs at her never really responds but ripley owes luna a favor and when luna takes him up on this favor she asks him if he will go to a funeral with her because she doesn't want to go alone she doesn't want to bring anyone close to her to expose like the reality and how bad her family situation is so she's like oh i could just bring ripley like i don't care what he thinks of me i wish i could see his point of view because i actually tell he's a sim for her even though he hides it luna has basically like a fatherly relationship with this other man at their job and he's like taking her in and taking care of her and i can tell that ripley sees that and doesn't really like it and i think i know why but i'm not really sure yet but oh my god it's already so so good i'm only like 200 pages in and this is a fat book but yeah i'm gonna mention a bunch of marianas a pot of books throughout this video this is just one of them next is twisted love by anna huang this and twisted games are both grumpy sunshine but i think this one was a little bit more so basically ava and her brother are super close and her brother's best friend's name's alex and this is a brother's best friend grubby sunshine romance but her brother is studying abroad so he's not gonna like be near her anymore and ava had just broken up her boyfriend he's kind of crazy and like ava's brother is worried about what's gonna happen with the ex-boyfriend while he's away so he asks his best friend alex to look after her and kind of like report back to him take care of her just make sure she's okay alex is like so not into the idea of it but they end up like becoming neighbors so it's like forced proximity and ava for some reason like dead set on befriending alex she's so intrigued by him she'll show up at his dorm day can we watch a movie together and like just want to hang out with him and he never gives her the time of day ever he's hooking up with other girls also dual point of view and you can see that he's also into her and he's trying to fight it but you can also see he has an ulterior motive for why he wants to get close with her then there's a plot twist i enjoyed it i love twisted games even more the second book so yeah then i have one of my faves the simple wild by k tucker i think this is one of the most underrated books like literally ever on all of booktube this book is so grumpy sunshine kala finds out her dad is sick she hasn't seen him since she was a little girl he lives in alaska so she decides okay i'm going to fly to alaska and spend my dad's last few weeks with him before he passes away and her dad owns an airline company like a really tiny one there so she flies in meets this boy named jonah jonah hates her right off the bat because kala is like a blogger influencer kind of girl and he's just like you don't fit in here i don't like your lifestyle you're super superficial and materialistic and she's like why are you so grumpy all the time like i'm a good time like let me like what i like whatever you can tell you're super attracted to each other she's super attracted to him there's so much angst in this book and when he finally like breaks down it was so good i loved this book so much i remember i was the feelings i felt when i was reading it oh my god when they finally had their first kiss after like he acts like he hates her so much then he becomes the biggest softy ever but the problem is he lives in alaska kala does not want to live in alaska she does not want to live there at all she's from a big city she wants to go back to her lifestyle jonah does not want to leave so then they're at this crossroads like what do we do now then we have another marianas potted book this one was so grumpy sunshine all roads lead here this is single parent single dad trope but he is so serious like never smiles anything basically aurora moves back to this town and she's renting property from rhodes so they're forced proximity living in the same kind of area she's kind of like living in his guest house she is just so happy and so sweet and so nice her mom actually went missing when aurora was young and aurora's just trying to figure out like what the [ __ ] happened and like trying to get closure on the situation that's why she moved back to the town and everything she forms a super close relationship with rhodes teenage son they're both super into music she just went through a messy divorce so she's got a lot of baggage on her right now and rhodes is super closed off but you can see how protective he gets of her and how attached he gets to her he starts inviting her over but then like disguising it as like oh i don't want you here but like you can tell oh my god i love this book the slow burn of it was so good read this then it happened one summer by tessa bailey this book is so similar to the simple wild like if you like one you'll love the other it's the same idea i know this book is inspired by shit's creek but i've never watched it but anyway piper lives in la she's a party girl influencer socialite doesn't have a job just likes to party and hang out with her friends until she throws this huge party and ends up getting arrested and in a lot of trouble as a punishment her stepdad is like you need to find yourself and discover who you actually want to be and so her stepdad sends her to this tiny little fishing town in washington state where her biological dad actually lived and he ended up passing away there the step dad's like you need to go there and find yourself we own property there and i want you to fix up the bar that we own there so he sends piper and her sister to renovate this bar run a bar just to have some like life skills by going there and living alone and away from the party scene and when she gets there she meets brendan oh my god he's so hot like at first she's so mean and like rude her same thing he just thinks she does not fit in there she's not meant to be there she's just like an airhead party girl with no depth to her and that's something that piper's always been insecure about is that people think that she has like nothing to offer brennan kind of makes her realize that that's not true even though he initially thought that too but he is so hot oh my god like this book is really steamy oh my god the things he says he is so hot that's all i have to say i love this book too next is the soulmate equation by christina lauren this book was fake dating basically jess is a single mom her daughter is so cute oh my god she works like freelance freelancers she does her own thing every day she goes to the coffee shop to do her work and she sees this man there every day who she's like super attracted to but he's so serious never says thank you never smiles never says hi to anyone gets his coffee and leaves and one day at the coffee shop everyone starts talking about how that man is actually inventing like this dating app where you can find like your dna perfect match and so she's like intrigued by him she's like oh he doesn't look like a romantic guy like that's bizarre and then her best friend ends up convincing her to sign up and like do the dna test and lo and behold she ends up getting paired with the man from the coffee shop they are perfect matches the most perfect match that the company has ever seen so river the man that created the company and paired with her basically he's like okay i know that you don't actually want to date me we don't get along i don't like you you don't like me but can we please pretend that we're together and this is perfect and working out so that my company does well i don't want it to look like this is a fraud and then it doesn't work just please pretend you like me for the media and so they do all these interviews and pretend they're together and the whole world is like shipping them and signing up for this app obviously their relationship goes from like professional fake dating to more he was so serious in the beginning so like by the books like he's literally a scientist and you can see him become so so obsessed with her and it was so cute i loved it the next book is full tilt by emma scott and this is kind of reverse scrubby sunshine the girl is grumpy the boy is sunshine which is so cute this is one of my favorite duets it's so tiny you have to read both books to get closure it's full tilt and all in full tilt is about casey and she's in a rock band but she is on a downward spiral getting into like really bad habits with alcohol and stuff and then one day her driver his name is jonah ends up taking care of her and getting her home safe he's so sweet and so wholesome and she ends up spending like that whole weekend with him he like gets her sober that one night and helps her the rest of the weekend and they end up having like this instant connection it wasn't insta-love but an instant like noticeable connection between them like they just understood each other and had great like chemistry but she used to go on tour so she leaves and then they end up reuniting but he tells her that he is running out of time and it is really sad and that's not a spoiler it's literally the main line on the back of the book is that he's running out of time their journey together and how much they help each other and how much they actually really needed each other is so cute and the way that casey like such a negative outlook on the entire world until she met jonah so good next is culty by mariana zapata this is a soccer sports romance between a coach and a player they're both adults though i know that sounds like they're not they are basically sal has had a crush on this huge soccer player named culty her entire life she's looked up to him she's idolized him since she was a little girl and now she's in her late 20s and culty is her coach and she realizes when she meets him she actually hates him he is just so rude to everyone so serious he's rude to her dad and that is like the breaking point for her she ends up going off on him and he's just like very serious he ends up being so intrigued by her ends up like asking her for a bunch of favors and you can tell it's kind of just to spend time with her and it slowly turned into a friendship but the rest of the team gets mad because then they're like oh you guys aren't allowed to have a friendship outside of the field like now you're getting favored whatever he meets her family he turns so soft for her oh my god the sweet little things he does for her that like go unnoticed until the end when they finally get together it's like the biggest sigh of relief like wow i've been waiting for that moment martin as paula's books are all really big but all really good next is the hating game by sally thorne i know i talk about this one all the time so i'm just gonna quickly sum it up work workplace enemies to lovers josh is super super serious lucy is super super quirky but she's not quirky to me in the cringy way but josh is so serious and never shows his affection towards her until it kind of becomes a competition between them literally the hating game he turned so soft to her classic grumpy sunshine they're also competing for the same job title which adds like another competitive aspect to it i feel like this one is just one that everyone's already read so i'm not going to go into depth about it okay the next book i'm going to talk about another mariana zapata the wall of winnipeg and me this is a nfl player and his assistant romance marriage of convenience forced proximity very very grumpy serious closed off no outward interest expressed for the girl the girl is fed up with him but she is super close with his best friend there's jealousy it is a really long buildup but i really really really really really love this book one of my favorite marinas potter books ever it's so good it's so good okay then is marriage for one by ella mays i read this one recently so grumpy sunshine 2 also marriage convenience basically jack is a lawyer rose comes into his office yes they have the titanic name comes into his office after someone in her family passes away and she's like looking at the will if she was married she was gonna be inheriting this building but she recently broke up with her fiance he ghosted her for no reason so now she's not gonna get the building anymore but she was planning on starting a coffee shop and it's been like her lifelong dream to like open her own coffee shop and jack for some reason is immediately intrigued by her this is dual point of view he just offers and it's like why don't we just get married and we can share the building and i'll use it for my business stuff and you can use it the first floor for your coffee shop and she agrees so they get married and they kind of have to go to all these events together and pretend they're married so that the will is like legitimate and they actually get the building so they act married and whatever and he does the cutest stuff for her as disguised by like fake dating he acts so annoyed by her and like all this stuff but he is so obsessed with her like he can't even lie to himself but then there's a plot twist in this book that adds to a conflict serious i don't believe in love turns into a simp classic this one's a little different it's neon gods by katie robert this is a hades and persephone retelling basically hades has been like cast out of society he's completely ignored by the entire population a bunch of people don't even think he exists like they think he's a myth but he's actually in like a lower city completely by himself pretty much and then persephone is set to marry someone and that she doesn't want to marry so she runs away hades ends up finding her when she's endangered and injured and kind of helping her and like nursing her back to health this book is like very steamy but i liked it for the relationship like build of it i thought it was really good and a quick read you can see he goes from like someone that like doesn't believe in love they're kind of using each other hades is using her to prove to like the upper city and to zeus who's like the king of the upper city that he can like take his supposed wife and the persephones using hades have protection away from zeus who she's supposed to be marrying and they're kind of like making these public displays of their relationship to kind of piss zeus off and like bring down his ego and it kind of leads to a bunch of conflicts within our city but their love for each other like grows so strong he takes her on like these cute little trips and like does cute stuff for her but you don't need to know anything about greek mythology to read this but yeah at the end like the compromise they come up with is so cute like the way he he completely had a character development for her and it was really cute next book is wait for it by mariana zapata of course another one this is one of my also favorite bariata potter books it was so so good it's about diana whose brother passes away and now she is set to look after his two young sons so she becomes like a mom out of nowhere like a young mom like taking care of these kids she's not actually a mom she's their aunt but you know what i mean she like builds this life for them and gets them this nice little house and across the street lives this man named dallas who she sees every so often when they cross paths but he is just not interested in her at all he's rude to her kind of just like stay out of my business and stand on my life whatever he's actually the baseball coach for her nephew's team so they see each other all the time dallas starts building a relationship with her nephew it's just super cute because like the nephews will invite dallas over and she's like oh like no i'm sure he doesn't want to come and he's like oh i'll come over for dinner obviously because he's intrigued by diana but he won't admit that and their relationship is also slow burn she notices that dallas wears a wedding ring and so she's like oh he's married gotta stay away from that even if i'm intrigued by him and attract to him and diana just has so much on her plate like taking care of these boys but her relationship with them is so cute she's just doing so much she's working so hard drive these boys everywhere and take care of them and feed them and it's just a lot for her to handle dallas kind of just helps her and helps her out when she needs it it was just really good and a lot of characters in this book sal from culty and culti are mentioned in this book as well as aiden and vanessa from the wall of winnipeg like all the characters come back it's so cute this is another book by martin is part of that fits grumpy sunshine so those are all the books i'm going to go in depth about and now i'm just going to do some like honorable mentions and just like reading the titles of books so in case you've read all these and you want
