last teot can be a little intimidating for new players but this video should remove any fear intrepidation you might have while enjoying your playthrough this video is going to be the most complete beginner guide for last Depo by the time you finish this video you will understand every system that you need to know to play the game confidently if you got questions ask them in the comments below I'll read and respond to every single one also be sure to take advantage of the timestamps to revisit any topic you need to come back to later now let's get into it all right so the first thing you're going to have to do is create your character and you can choose between five different classes each of these classes has three different masteries so for example you can choose to be a sentinel that's this melee guy right here and you could choose to become a void Knight forg guard or Paladin right you can choose either one of those three masteries but not all of them and the important thing to know about choosing your Mastery is at present this is the only thing you cannot resp after creating your character so you can respect your passives you can respect your skills but you cannot respect your Mastery you won't have to choose your Mastery until you hit somewhere between level 20 and 30 but when you do choose your Mastery just know that that is a permanent choice and the only way to undo that is to create a new character we'll dive more into the nuances of the skill trees the passives and the masteries and how they all play together in a moment but first let's quickly go over these classes that you've got available to you so as mentioned you've got the Sentinel The Sentinel has the void Knight this is going to be where you create the closest thing to like a whirlwind Barbarian for example and then you've got the Paladin which is going to let you make a Smite Paladin like D2 or it's going to let you make a judgment Paladin this is kind of like righteous Fire from Path of Exile or you can go full on hammered in from dto all your favorite builds from previous arpg titles they're here on one of these characters somewhere you just have to find them then you've got the forge guard who's going to be doing things like Shield throw or summoning rings of Shields and this is kind of like your melee weapon Summoner kind of guy here next we have the Rogue here and the Rogue choose between the blade dancer The Marksman or the Falcon ner the blade dancer is going to be more of your assassin type feeling character whereas The Marksman is going to be your Ranger your bow wielding character and then finally your Falconer is going to be the kind of Summoner hybrid for the Rogue then we've got the Mage here and the Mage has the sorcerer Mastery which is going to let you do things like Yeet meteors at people or static orbs or even black holes right he's your pure magic Elemental damage kind of character and you've got the Spell blade he's going to basically imbue his melee weapons his blades with damage and you become a nice hybrid between a Mage and a physical DPS class this is going to be your close range Mage and then you've got Rune Master which is probably the most unique arpg class I've played to date this one is going to be a combo type of class so you're going to fire off spells and depending on what elements you use and what order you use them in that's going to allow you to fire off a combo ability that basically either sets off a volcano or sends out a wave of fire or causes an ice explosion right all of these things and many many more could happen depending on what order you use your abilities and collect your runes before releasing your combo really neat idea for a class then you've got your Prime list right here this is going to be where you can become a beast master so if you want to control lots of different types of animals this is your bet then there's the shaman if you want to have totems or if you want to use natural disasters like tornadoes earthquakes or avalanches this is the one you want and then finally you've got Druid this is going to be your shape shifter you can turn into a bear and then you know summon roots and sprin to help you in battle and finally we have the ACO this is where you're going to be able to ascend into things like a necromancer and this works exactly like you would expect it to you can summon wraiths skeletal Mages Abominations and Dread Shades then you've got the Lich this is going to be kind of unique you go into Reaper form and you constantly leech life away from things around around you until your health hits zero and then you go back into human form and you kind of go back and forth between those trying to stay into your Reaper form as long as possible and then finally you've got the Warlock this is the master of the Forbidden Arts they tear into the essence of their foes twisting and corrupting their Spirits with Relentless curses and hexes so you want to curse things you want to hex them warlock is the play so you'll choose your class and go and then after you create your character you're going to have to make a few more choices first up game mode between standard and hardcore standard is well you can play and die as many times as you want whereas hardcore you play until you die and then once your character dies he's no longer a hardcore character he will then be converted into a standard character so in a way there's no harm in starting out as a hardcore character if that's something you want to try because this game is quite forgiving it just throws you into standard if your hardcore character should die then you've got your challenges so you can choose between for instance character found which will mean that you have to find all your own loot and then you'll be able to choose between some of the challenges and factions so at launch they're going to be introducing something called factions and you're going to be able to choose between the circle of Fortune and the merchants Guild and the way this is going to work is circle of Fortune is going to be your solo sell found this is where you will find items and you can equip those items and you cannot trade with other players and to balance this inability to trade you're going to have much higher drop rates on items so that you have a chance to find the items you would normally have to trade someone for so circle of Fortune is what you want to pick if you don't want to deal with the auction house if you don't want to deal with relying on trade to get items that you need if you want higher drop rates right circle of Fortune is what you want and then there's Merchant skilled for the people that like to play the economy for the people that like to be able to find something and then flip that into a better item you know and constantly upgrade through things that they're finding and using trade and the auction house to do so the great thing about these two choices is that you're not locked into either one you can play as circle of Fortune for a while and then if you decide you know what I want to be able to trade for items you can switch over to Merchant skilled now everything that you find is going to be tagged as one of these factions so if you find a helmet while you're in circle of Fortune mode you will not be able to trade that helmet it will be tagged as circle of Fortune faction and it will be untradeable so the game prevents you from abusing this system and so you can switch back and forth between circle of Fortune and Merchant skill and while you're in the circle of Fortune mode you can only wear circle of Fortune gear and while you're in merchant skilled mode you can only wear Merchant skilled gear but you can carry both sets in your bank at the same time it's just that you can only equip the one for the mode that you're in now you'll spawn into the game you'll have to go ahead and Vanquish some foes as you run across them you'll get some popups basic tutorial tips and stuff like that so basically what you're looking at here is your standard arpg affair right you've got your health bubble down here you've got your Mana bubble over here then you've got your skills in the middle by default they're qwe r with left click is your movement ability and right click is your basic attack but you know you'll change that to something later on and then of course you've got your potions so the way the potions work in this game is kind of unique you get your potion slots from your belt so it says our belt gives us two potion slots so if we don't have that on we can have zero potions that's what that zero is if we put the belt on now we have two potion slots and in order to get potions you you just walk over them you'll kill enemies they'll fall on the ground you walk over a potion just like this one right there and it'll pick it up and put it into your belt so if we do that boom now we've got one potion and we can pick up one more if you walk over a third potion when you can only carry two your character will automatically drink that potion as you walk over it if you're missing any health if you're full health and you walk over a potion nothing happens it leaves it there on the floor for you so just know if you don't want to use a potion that's on the floor make sure not to run over it this is is definitely something that you're going to want to strategically think about in boss fights in this game on the top right here you've got your mini map and you know the quest objective right there pointing us up and to the right to get to the next thing that we're trying to do and then below that you've got your quests that you're tracking which brings us to the map so the map in this game is probably the most confusing map in any arpg that I've ever played but it's also kind of fun it's pretty unique but first now if you're looking to explore a Mysterious Island solve puzzles battle traveling through different eras in this game you've got the ancient era and you'll be visiting a select few locations in this era you'll be spending a lot of time in the Devon line era here and you can see the various zones you're going to be making your way through and then the Imperial era ruined era and then finally you'll get to the end of the game and this is where you'll do your mapping and this is end of time and by mapping I mean the end game content you're going to be running lots and lots of zones over and over and essentially you work your way up this and towards these last three slots at the top here and then you begin your empowered monoliths we'll get into that system in much more detail in a lat section in this video it's going to get a whole section don't worry so back to where we are right now so the thing to know about this map is you're going to be picking up quests and side quests along the way and there are some side quests in this game that you have to do and there's going to be three types of quests in this game this game is going to have your main story quest which is a yellow question mark then it's going to have blue question marks these are side quests and side quests come in three types there's the type that gives passive points for you to spec into your character then there's the type that gives Idol slots that's these things right here these are Idols that your character can hold that give passives very powerful passives in fact and they work exactly like if you remember charms from Diablo I that's what these are except they have their own inventory space for them because these developers don't want you to suffer a completely full inventory the entire time you're playing like we used to do in Diablo I so that's what your Idols are these are basically D2 charms and right now I can't put anything in here all these slots are locked can't put anything in there and in order to unlock those that's where the side quests come in and then there's the third type of side quest which is the one that just gives gold or XP or both right now down here on the bottom left side of your map it tells you how many outstanding quests you have now basically the way that you're going to treat this is you're going to keep following the main story Quest right but you're going to prioritize side quests anytime you find one until you have done 15 out of 15 passive Point rewards and eight out of eight Idol slot rewards right you're going to to make sure you do all your side quests until you get those passives and those Idol slot rewards unlocked once you have these fully unlocked which will happen about I don't know 3/4 of the way or so through the story then you can stop doing the side quests if you want to they're purely you know for fun at that point you're not going to be missing out on any character power if you're ever not sure where to go for a quest because it will be kind of confusing navigating this all you have to do is click on the quest and it'll take you to where you need to go and then you'd be able to click on that and click travel to it which we'll demonstrate on another character now as you play through the game killing things and completing quests you're going to be leveling up your character you've got the XP bar at the bottom that's what this yellow part is I just leveled so you can hardly see any of it there but if we open up our skills and specialization menu we can see the path that we're about to take here so let me explain what we're looking at here so first of all we have Sentinel this is our class right we chose Sentinel and then you've got three ascendancies for the Sentinel that you could choose between which are the void Knight forg guard and the Paladin now for the Sentinel abilities you're going to unlock these with your character level so as you hit Level three you'll get hammer throw as you hit level four you'll get lunge and so on right that's what that number means but for the masteries they're unlocked by spending points in that passive tree so to unlock volatile reversal here you have to spend Five Points in your passive tree of your Void Knight right and then to unlock Abyssal Echoes you have to spend 10 points in that passive tree now the way that this game works is let's go to the passive trees so you've got your Sentinel passive tree you've got your Void Knight your Paladin and your forg guard passive tree right they each have their own passive tree and then you have the one that you start out with by default which is your base class in this case The Sentinel now you'll be able to unlock passives from every single Mastery regardless of which Mastery you choose all the way up until this chain right here so to get past this chain you have to choose this Mastery so if I'm on the Paladin here if I wanted to get these passives in the back half of the Paladin passive tree I have to choose Paladin as the Mastery but even if I choose Paladin Mastery I'll still be able to go into Forge guard and grab the first half any of these passives in here and I'll be able to go into void Knight and grab any of these passives here and I'll be able to grab any of these passives here in Sentinel so you get to dip into four different passive trees and you can decide how much time you want to spend in any of those passive trees to really create a unique character and then at the bottom here it shows you the skills that you're going to be unlocking as you spend points in those trees so once we've put five points in we'll be able to unlock Healing Hand 15 we'll get sigils of Hope right so if there's a particular skill you're trying to get early you're going to want to go to that passive tree and invest points in ASAP so that you can get that skill that is the one that you're going to be really using for your build so that's how you unlock these abilities here is by spending points in these trees here right and by the way your skills menu is s on your keyboard your passives menu is p on your keyboard nice and easy right so at the top here is something else that's really important so as you level up you'll see at level four you'll unlock this first spot here and then you'll be able to drag your skill of your choice right there and basically this opens up an entire passive tree for that specific skill and it allows you to level up that skill so that you can choose passives to invest in it so just remember that that happens at 4 8 20 35 and 50 right there's a long progression that's happening there as you're unlocking these so you definitely want to start with your primary damage ability get that in here as soon as possible and get it leveling up earlier than later because the passives that you unlock are going to be what make that skill shine all right so now we are on a higher level character so let's take a look at this and there's a lot of really useful information that we can see here on this page so the first bit of really useful information that we can see is the elements that the skill does damage with so here you can see this little Fire Emblem this is doing fire damage and if you hover over this skill it tells you what the modifiers are so down there the scaling tags are fire spell and intelligence anytime you want to know what stats you should be looking for on your gear you can just come in here and hover over skill and it tells you exactly what stats you're looking for if that's the ability that you're trying to scale the damage on so typically in args you're going to want to pick one skill and that's going to be like your Giga damage skill right and this is no different so you'd likely pick one skill because you're likely not going to want to try to scale fire damage and cold damage on the same character rather you'd pick one to be a buff and then choose the other to be the damage and then you'd scale that so if we chose Fireball then we' go looking for things that increase fire damage increase spell damage or increase our intelligence and all three of those things are going to increase the damage that our Fireball would be doing so lots of good information on this page you can just come in here hover over it it tells you what it costs what the DPS is per second based on the gear you're wearing now that's not a 100% accurate number but it is good enough for you to know ballpark like hey this skill is going up in damage as I put on this gear vers going down in damage you can also just hover over the skill down here and you can get a DPS number readout just like that so you can put a new piece of gear on and compare the DPS listed here and see if it goes up or down and you can have a pretty good idea if that gear is an upgrade for you or a downgrade just by looking at your DPS on your skills another thing that you can see on your skills and specializations page here is this one you know you got this circle with the one in the middle that tells us that we have one unspent point there this spot doesn't have a skill there but it's telling us we have five points we can spend which tells us the minimum level of a skill is five so the higher level you get this game has a catchup mechanic where if you wanted to change out a skill it would automatically start it at a minimum level of well at this point in the game level five so if I put for instance lightning blast here now it's going to start with five unspent points that I can spend right here see it says Five unspent Points that's what that five means another piece of information information that you can see here is this game has a pretty intuitive way of telling you how many points you need to spend so there's three dots there right which means I have to put at least three points into Elemental expanse before I can put one point into luminary that's what those three dots mean there's two dots here so I'd have to put two points into here before I can put one point into charge destruction so that's what those little dots mean and that's how you know how much you have to put into a skill to unlock the next one sometimes it's as low as one point and other times it's four points and this game is super fluid remember the beginning of the video I said you could Respec anytime you want to in this game and I meant it you can you just hit Respec right here and you can remove individual points which is going to reduce the level of the skill and pull it out now the downside is you're going to have to level that skill up again so if we go over here to this ability here and it's level 13 right let's put this point in somewhere it doesn't matter where okay so now we've got this skill Elemental Nova we've got no unspent points and let's say we H we're like ah you know what I didn't want to turn this into an ice ability I didn't mean to put that point in I'm regretting that choice you can just come here and hit Respec and then you can choose to unspec from the skill entirely so that you can put a new skill here to level up or you can choose to remove points so we go remove and we click on that and it says respecing a point from a node will reduce the skills level by one if it is above your minimum skill level right so we could delev this all the way down to level five it's basically what it's saying if this would reduce the skills to a lower level than your minimum skill level you can reallocate that point immediately otherwise you can level it back up to regain the point so we'd respect this now I have to go and level this ability up to level 13 again and I'd get that point that I can spend in here somewhere at higher levels when you get to endgame these points come really fast so it's not as big a deal to have to Respec one or two points as it might feel like but respecing an entire ability especially if it's your primary ability can hurt so especially if you don't have another ability to carry you while you Respec that you know your primary damage ability so that's just something you're going to want to be careful about doing now and as we quickly touched on there you can also hit Respec and then Des specialize from the skill which was going to remove it from there so that you can put another ability there like let's say I was like you know what I want to be a fireball sorc and I could put that there and now I've got this nice Fireball tree and I can choose to spec into fire spray which is going to cause it to release more projectiles when I cast right and things like that I can increase the damage sometimes it lets you increase the number of projectiles sometimes it lets you change the element of the ability so for instance this ability right here volcanic orb if we wanted we could go ahead and change it into a frozen orb right by default it starts out as a volcanic orb and then you can kind of change it into a D2 Frozen orb or a D3 or D4 now Frozen orb right it's got that ability there for you but by default it's a fire orb and if you're ever wondering like man you know what I want something that's going to scale well with fire damage you could just come up here search noes and type fire and anything that can scale with fire you know it's going to pop up see how it's highlighting those items here so I can see all of the fire stuff you know and which abilities I could morph into fire if I wanted similarly if I type cold up there it'll highlight all the abilities that I can scale with cold so down here even volcanic orb is being lit up because we could if we wanted to spec into cold right here so the skills and specialization tree here is a really fun place to spend time you know customizing your character making something truly unique and I will say that this game has done a really good job of not being so difficult that you have to go follow a buil guy on the internet in order to be successful in it that's not the case here there are numerous numerous viable builds that you can create on your own and get through the campaign no problem and then later on it's so easy to respect that if you get to the end of the game and you really want to push endgame content and you feel like the build that you put together just isn't cutting it you can come in here and you can just start respecing no problem right similarly you can open up your passives menu and you can come in here and you can Respec now the difference is for your passives in order to Respec your passive you can't do it from in your menu you actually have to go visit this guy you'll look for this symbol on the map the little purple head with a brain in it you have to go to that symbol talk to that character and then you'll be able to resp from there so we'll run over to this guy right here and there's a symbol floating over him right and he says respect my Mastery Point allocations yes so we can come in here and we can do exactly that we can click on a passive and it says respecing one point from this node will cost 120 gold you currently have 48,000 so we go yeah Respec it and then we want to pull out another one and it says yeah respect it again that's only going to cost you 60 Gold okay what about this one respect this yeah respect again this is going to be 250 so the more points that you have into a node the more expensive it is to pull that point out as you can see it it's cheaper each time I pull a point out now naturally you're not going to be able to pull points somewhere that would break the chain that allows you to have points somewhere so now the way that you're passive tree works is to unlock the next set of abilities you have to invest a certain number of points before we can put points into here we have to meet two different conditions one we have to fill this bar up by putting points into this tree in general right so once this gets up to here now we can grab these but another condition has to be met you have those dots again which tells us that you have to put three points in this skill before you can put a point in this scill right so in your passive tree there's two conditions that have to be met in order to grab the next skill on your tree and as you can see here on this character we went for Rune master so I can grab the entire Rune Master tree but if we were to look at the sorcerer it would let me use the first half of the sorcerer tree but there's a chain preventing me from going to the second half because I did not choose sorcerer and again as of right now we cannot respect out of Rune Master this is a permanent choice so if I want to play a sorcerer I've got to create a new character now at any time while you're doing your quests right so for instance there's this side quest right here the sapphire tablet which says I'm going to get one passive point and one Idol inventory expansion slot for doing this Quest so this is one we would want to prioritize so you click on it it tells you exct where to go then you click on this spot here and then you click travel that is going to teleport you directly to that location now that you're here you can just follow the map marker in this case it's pointing up and to the right you can also press Tab and you can have the map overlay on screen and it's pointing us to the right and then we can see a blinking object here that's a realm tear and we'll be able to go through that and go to a different era at any time while you're out and about you can press T right here it says t for portal and it'll instantly open a portal for you you'll be able to use this portal to go back to town anytime you want and by using the portal it's going to drop you back in town and then if you want to go back to where you were you just reenter your portal there after using your sash okay now let's talk about the way this game handles inventory space so you've got of course your inventory space when you're out and about killing enemies picking things up that they drop right they're going to go into your inventory then when you come back to town you have unlimited stash Bas quite literally it's nearly unlimited you can have hundreds of tabs of stash space if you would like to and it's got a really nice and organized format that you can set it up to last Depo easily has the best stash space solution out of any arpg that is out right now right it's not like Diablo where you only get five or six really sad tabs it's not like Path of Exile where you have to pay real life money for each individual tab in this game you pay for tabs with in-game gold so you'll collect gold while you're playing and then anytime you want to get another tab you can just click this little plus sign right here and it'll tell you purchase for gold and you say yes I want to purchase it for gold and that's pretty much where you're going to spend most of your money as you're leveling up is just buying new tabs so that you can dump items in relentlessly as you'll notice here I've got mine color coordinated I've got my idols and then you've got subtabs for the idol section then I've got my uniques and all the subtab for the uniques right then at the bottom down here I've got rare dump where I just dump rares in maybe I'm saving them because I want to extract material from them so that I can craft something else later maybe I'm saving them in case I want to use them right as a crafting item there's all kinds of reasons to save rares in this game for future characters present characters character for crafting so you know having a place to dump rares that have good stats on them is a good idea then you've got keys you're going to be picking up keys for dungeons we'll talk about dungeons in a moment here but first let's finish talking about the stash so really quickly how you use this is you first create a category so you hit on this top row right here you hit this plus sign and now we have an empty category down here you right click on it and you give the category a name like let's say you're going to make one for set items right so we say set you give it a nice little icon color maybe we want green because set items are green and now we have a set items category down here so and then all you have to do is click the plus sign right here and buy a tab and then that will appear under your set items alternatively you can click on any tab at any time you can right click on it and change the category that it falls under so I can move my keys right here I can put this under set and confirm and now that tab is under here so if you ever want to like move some tabs maybe you don't need as many rare D tabs as you used to you could move some to your set items and devote them to that cause instead so we'll put this back in Keys section cuz it's full of keys just a really really handy way of handling all of this another thing you can do here is you can search your stash so you could say I only want to see tabs that have items that increase my fire damage now all tabs that don't have anything that increase my fire damage have been removed from this menu now if I click on it it'll highlight them so here we go this one's highlighted it says 177% increaseed fire damage and in here I can see oh there's a bunch of stuff oh this one 5% increase fire damage 6% increased fire damage right and so only the tabs with things that are going to increase fire damage are showing up if there's nothing with fire damage that tab has been hidden from this view just remember to close out that search when you're done so you're not wondering where did my tab full of keys go you know later on now when you're out and about you're going to see a lot of Loot on the floor especially until you get your loot filter set up so one thing you'll notice is there's dots and the two dots on the left are prefixes that means it has two prefixes on the item and the three dots on the right here means it has three suffixes on the item now typically items will only have up to two prefixes and up to two suffixes however sometimes they'll have a sealed stat on them which you can also do manually so in this case we can see 20% increased cooldown recovery speed is sealed that's why it's in gold font down there and that's why this has three suffixes which is fairly rare now while you're out killing things you're going to eventually run into explosions of crafting materials like this right here you've got this kind of gold beige text on the screen runes and shards right these are great to have you're going to need tons and tons of these so these are something you never want to run by always always pick these up it's always going to be worth it because you just click on one and it picks all of them up then two when you do it's going to all go into your inventory and then you can click this button right here transfer crafting items and what this is going to do is it's going to move all of those items that you just picked up into your craft bag freeing up your space and this is unlimited you can have as many things in here as you want and it's automatically going to just grab them and sort them and save them for you for your next crafting session right so you can just keep on adding to this is there's no reason not to pick them up because it's unlimited you can just put put as many in here as you want another thing you can do in your inventory is there's a sort items right here so your inventory is filling up or you do something like that where you hit transfer crafting items and now you want to be able to fit more stuff in you can just hit this and then you're like oh man I don't have to go back to town yet I still have half my inventory it will automatically sort your items for you then we have this button right here gifts what this is is if you're playing with another player and an item drops while you're both in the same game at the same time right they can give you the item and vice versa you can give them the item all you have to do is hit H go into your party and right click their name and say gift item and then you'll be able to gift the item that you want to them the window will pop up allowing you to send them a gift or an item and they can do the same thing for you then you've got your gold of course you've got all your gear that you're wearing and then you've got your Idols that you're collecting here lassy lets you wear one amulet two rings a belt boots gloves and a relic your Relic slot is like an extra slot down here here and then of course you get your main hand weapon your Shield if you're wearing one nothing if you're using a two-hand weapon and a helmet and chest piece at the very top of your inventory screen you'll see something else that's really important that's your blessings menu in here you'll be able to collect blessings as you play through the monoliths at the end of the game we'll dive more into that in great detail here in a moment but just know anytime you want to see all the blessings that you have that's what's right here to the left of your inventory menu you know just come here and you can see what these are doing for you and then finally in this menu you've got appearance this is where you would apply your Cosmetics all right so let's quickly go over the different types of items that you can find in terms of their Rarity so you've got white items which are going to have no stats on them no affixes or prefixes then you've got blue which can have up to two stats that's all that means if we add a third stat to this it will become yellow or rare then we have our rare items our yellow ones these can have up to four stats on them it's only rare because it has three to four stats on it and then we have our are unique items unique items are going to have some well unique stat that you can't simply craft onto an item that's what makes them unique in this case these gloves have a chance to summon a swarm of bees on melee hit then there's another type of unique that has legendary potential so this one says it has one legendary potential that's what the number one left of legendary potential means which means we can add a stat to this item from an exalted item and this would be considered a best and Slot endgame piece of gear when you grab a legendary and you slap an exalted item stat on it so that brings us to our exalted items these purple items here are exalted items what that means is they have a T6 or a t7 roll on them so that purple stat is T6 or t7 and you can only craft up to T5 so if you're crafting strength onto an item you'll never be able to make it as good as this item came with because the only way to get T6 and t7 is from finding an exalted item with a T6 or t7 Stat on it this is what prevents crafting from dominating the game and making it pointless to look for items out in the game right it's these exalted items so most likely when your character is fully geared at the end he's going to be wearing a lot of exalted items that you have crafted so what you would do in this case let's say I wanted lots of strength on this chest piece I could go and I could take that 15 strength and I could put it onto this chest piece using its one legendary potential if this had two legendary potential I could take the 15 strength and I could take this 204 armor and 59% reduced bonus damage taken from critical strikes off of this item and I could put it also on this right thereby putting two different stats on here using both legendary potentials so unique items with legendary potential are one of the things you're looking out for uniques in this game are going to be very situational it's not like Diablo where your character's just going to be decked out in exclusively uniques it doesn't work like that uniques are more of a I'm looking for that specific unique stat that's on that gear to combine with my build and then the rest of my gear is going to take advantage of those T6 and t7 rolls that are amplifying the damage that I'm putting out so if you were a fire Mage you'd be looking for exalted Gear with T6 and t7 increased fire damage rolls that you could craft into something that you would wear when you combine an exalted item into a legendary potential unique that will create what is called a legendary of the best will be the legendaries which is just a unique with an exalted stat on it we'll talk about how you make those when we get into the dungeon section of this video because that's where you do that which is one of the reasons dungeons are so important in this game now let's look at your character screen because there is a lot of information available to you here first we can see how much experience this character has gained then we can see the level that's you know pretty straightforward then you've got strength and if you hover over strength it tells you what that does so it says each point of strength increases our armor by 4% and improves skills that rely on the raw strength of you and your companions just found a typo there it says rely the raw strength of you and your companions okay so essentially you're going to spec into strength to increase armor and increase damage of strength based skills then you've got dexterity which says each point added adds four Dodge rating and improves skills that rely on decks so if a skill says it scales off of decks then you would insc into decks as one of your stats and remember you can always hover over a skill and it tells you what it scales off of so hovering over this one it says physical melee area and strength as the scaling tags so more strength would be great if I was using that in this case this character is a hammered in so he's using physical throwing attack power strength and decks as a scaling tags so that's why we've got so much strength here intelligence each point of intelligence grants 4% Ward retention and improves skills that rely on it so ward in this game is your Shield it's going to be useful on characters that want to do low life builds or things like that your ward is your Shield it's a shield that absorbs damage before your health absorbs any damage so the more Ward you have the more of a shield you have protecting your HP if we hover over it here it says I have zero Ward on this character because this character is not using that but it also says Ward retention reduces the rate of Ward Decay so if you were going to go for a ward-based build you'd be looking to collect a lot of Ward for your character or find ways to acre Ward by killing enemies damaging enemies or using abilities that you know provide you ward and then you'd also want Ward retentions because your ward is always going down even when you're not taking damage so it's up to you to keep collecting more of it and the more Ward retention you have the slower your ward is going to go down between you collecting more of it there's also this other stat called endurance endurance is calculated as percent damage reduction that's that little yellow bubble down there and what that's saying is when my character's Health gets below that yellow line I'm going to have 27% damage reduction so if you have really high endurance then you're going to be taking much less damage anytime your character's health is below that yellow line so you can collect endurance percent and you can collect endurance threshold so you can raise that yellow line higher so that you get more of that reduced damage that you're getting from endurance then we've got Attunement each point of Attunement grants two mana and improves Pro skills that rely on innate magic so if you're a mage that is relying heavily on mana and you need more of it you'd go into Attunement and then your skills would be scaling off of atunement right so more atunement would make you do more damage and give you more Mana to cast more skills and then there's Vitality each point of Vitality grants six health and 1% poison and necrotic resistance so if you just wanted more Health one way to get it is specking into Vitality it's also got the benefit of giving you a little bit of those resistances now this game has a lot of different resistance es for you to collect and to maintain so you can see here you've got fire lightning cold physical poison necrotic and void now the elemental resistances are a little bit easier to take care of because you can get individual items that give you all three resistances they'll say for instance this one right here 8% Elemental resistance so that means it's giving me fire lightning and cold it is not going to give me physical poison necrotic and though so just be aware when you get something that says Elemental resistance it's limited to those three you still got to go get the rest of these your resistances will cap out at 75% and if you don't want to die you're going to want to do your best to get your resistances up to 75% as soon as possible so if it says you have 47 fire resistance that means you're going to take 47% less fire damage if it says 56 lightning you're taking 56% less lightning damage right it's that simple there's no ramping damage the farther you are from the cap or anything like that it's just a straight 1:1 ratio based on the damage that gets through your armor so before your fire resistance is removing fire damage you've got your block chance which will allow you to take reduced damage from the attack that hit you and then you've got your armor so what makes it through your block be sent to your armor your armor is going to reduce all types of damage that you take except for Dots so armor is good against physical it's good against range it's good against non-physical but it does not work against dots it's worth noting though that armor is only 70% effective against non-physical damage so so in this character's case without the chest piece on I'm getting 28% less damage taken I put this chest piece on and that goes up to 38% damage reduction right it calculates it all right there for you you can see the damage reduction you're getting from this and then also after whatever slides through here is going to be reduced by your Elemental resistances you've got your stun avoidance the higher this is the less likely you are to become stunned you've got your block Effectiveness this is telling you how much damage reduction you're receiving when you successfully Block You've Got Your Dodge chance you either Dodge an attack or you don't if you dodge it you don't take damage if you don't DOD it you do simple enough and then Ward retention which we touched on earlier the higher this is the slower your ward decays and then down here below you can see every stat you would ever want to see about your character you can click on damage and you can see all your damage stats you can click defense see all your defense stats minion likewise if you're doing a minion build you can see exactly which stats are modifying your minions and which ones are not you can come in here and see other and see all your other stats that you have crewed as far as the resistances up here go it's worth noting that 75% is the cap but you do want to go higher than that because the enemies will penetrate your resistances so being over 75 it does not hurt you real quick if you're still here consider leaving a like or subscribing it tells the algorithm that you're enjoying this video now as far as multiplayer goes you can play this game with friends you can play through the whole game with your friends if you'd like to in order to open up the friend menu just hit h on your keyboard here you'll be able to add friends right so you'll be able to come here to the Friends section you'll be able to say friend requests if they sent you a friend request it'll be right here if you want to add a friend in game you can click add friend type their account name they'll have to give you that information it is not their steam name it's their account name for last Epoch so your account name is displayed right here above the online thing right you can choose whether you're displaying that you're online or maybe you're being a degenerate it's 4:00 a.m. and you don't want anyone to know that you're still playing the game and so you switch yourself to offline it's okay I get you I've been there all right no judgment so right above that it tells you your account name if you're curious and someone needs to know it so that they can add you as a friend or vice versa it's right there then click add friend type that in it's going to send them a friend invite the friend invite system I've noticed is a little bit delayed so you'll send it and it's going to be a while before they get it and same with party invites you'll send the party invite give it 10 to 30 seconds for it to pop up on their screen it does take a moment sometimes I'm not sure if that's early access issues or if that's just the speed at which these servers process that information you can also look at your blocked players list down here you know maybe you're acing a legion of enemies there you go that's where that is you can also see if you ever accidentally quote unquote accidentally blocked a friend and he's wondering why you're not talking to him anymore there you go he would show up right there similarly this is the menu you would use in order to send items to a friend if you're playing with them maybe they're playing a sorcerer and you got a really cool item for them it gives them increased fire damage for their Fireball sorc that they're playing and that does nothing for you because you're doing a lightning damage back somewhere else right and so you're like hey I got an item for you and you want to send it to them open up your friends menu right click on their name and click gift and you'll choose that and it'll send the item to them they'll be able to look at their gifts anytime in the bottom right of their screen there will be a little gift box that pops up after you gift it to them they can click that and open it also in your inventory you can click gift right here and anything that's been sent to you from a friend you'll be able to grab it out of here and put it in your inventory okay now let's quickly talk about the loot filter and how it works so you can really easily make make a new filter if you want to you can come in here and you can just click the plus sign create a new filter you can also open your existing filters you can also paste from your clipboard so if you're following a build on the internet most likely it'll have a button you can click and it'll copy the loot filter to your clipboard then you just click this and it'll load that filter into the game for you and it'll it'll instantly populate the whole thing if you don't want to make one yourself either way is perfectly valid but it is real easy to make filters in this game so let's talk about how to do that real quick you just create new filter let's say fire sorcerer right we're making a fire sorcerer and we're going to make it red put a fire symbol boom okay so we got the fire sorcerer filter started first thing we want to do probably is you know hide the stuff we don't want to see is just going to be let's go Rarity we don't want to see normal items we's say that right you might want to see magic items you might want to see rare items because they're going to have stats that you want especially early in the game so you don't want to hide those too early now we want to show and recolor let's make these items stand out so let's go with this lime green here and we want it to show us items that have fire damage then we look and see which tags we want so let's say we want fire damage paner so let's grab that one let's say we want this one here damage over time from our fire in case we're setting things on fire our Idols let's grab fire damage from the idols right Mage Idols let's definitely grab all those fire damage ones but we're not going to be melee right so let's take that one off and confirm so now anytime something with fire damage on it drops you'll know hey take a quick look at that that might be something that's great for my fire damage you can come into your Advanced options and as you play through the game you can say that you only want it to show you the ones that have more than or equal to tier one early in the game right you're going to be getting tier one but eventually you're going to have tier one or better on every slot so you're not interested in that so you open this up and you go I only want to see tier two or better or tier three or better right and you add that so now anytime a tier three fire FX drops on the ground somewhere it's going to be lime green showing up on your screen you're going to know oh man that's one I want to take a look at I can ignore the rest possibly right but let's say you know since you're doing Fireball you can open up this menu your skills and specialization and you can see oh it also scales off of spell so we go shift F add rule show recolor emphasize then you go add we're going to do another AIX and we're going to say we want to know anytime you know spell damage is on an item and we can start like checking all of that spell damage while channeling spell damage leached as health while channeling right you can take a look at your options Mage Idols spell damage leeched while channeling and you can see what fits the build that you're trying to go for here and then again is you're playing through the game you can come here to advance you can say more or equal than tier one to start right and then eventually you'll say I want two or better three or better right as those lower tier spell increases are just really not doing much for you the really popular one is going to be you're going to want items with health on them right it's an arpg and just like every other arpg items with big Health values on them are valuable they're important so you'd come in here AIX and you'd say health and then you would say added right increased Health hybrid Health right grab all of those for instance confirm Advanced options more or equal to tier one to start and then later on you're going to be blasting and you'll say tier four or better right and you might even get to a point where you're only looking at tier five now there is a case to be made for leaving it at tier one for a rare AIX so we'll get into crafting here next but just know that some affixes like my hammeren needs increased throwing damage and that's a pretty rare drop I don't find a lot of increased throwing damage crafting materials but I do find a lot of items that have lower tiers of increased throwing damage on them so for instance on my hammer in I'm looking for throwing damage but throwing damage shards these don't drop that often I have 39 of them whereas if we look at my other shards we can see some of them I have 105 I have 63 of these 95 of these 105 of these right 136 armor shards so you're going to have hundreds and even thousands of shards and you can very quickly see which ones are rarer than the rest so the only reason I have that many throwing shards is because I've been shattering the items so what you do is you pick up items that have the stat that you're looking for and then you put a shattering Rune a rune of shattering and then you shatter it and it's going to give you a random number of shards of these prefixes and suffixes that you have on this item so in this case throwing damage mana and void resistance I'm going to get up to two shards of void resistance because it's T2 I'm going to get up to one Shard of Mana I'm going to get up to two shards of throwing damage so we click shatter and we got two void resistance and one throwing damage so we just added to our throwing damage and that's why even even though throwing damage is one that I don't find very often I pick up the crappy throwing damage gear and then I shatter it and that way I'm collecting throwing damage shards so that when I get a really good item I can let's say I loved this amulet right it had throwing damage on it and Fizz resistance cold resistance somehow this was exactly what I needed that wouldn't be the case because it's a crap item but let's just say that it was good right so now I can use those shards that I got I can click that up arrow and I can use some of the shards that I pulled off of other items or found on the ground to increase the tier of my throwing damage so I could take it from T1 to T2 which would take it from three to approximately six I could do it to tier three and then to tier four and I can craft it all the way up to T5 and T5 is nothing to sneeze out a T5 throwing damage is pretty respectable the only way to go beyond T5 all the way up to T6 and t7 is to find an exalted item those are the purple ones that have a T6 or t7 roll that's what's keeping dropped items super relevant in this game is the only way to get to T T6 and t7 is to find it on the ground so let's dive more into the crafting right now because the crafting in this game is one of the most intuitive crafting systems out of any RPG that's out right now and one of the best right because it's simple it's easy but it's also comprehensive so on this item right here you know as we mentioned it's got T1 throwing damage let's say I wanted to get that higher I have forging potential up here forging potential is the amount of attempts that you get to upgrade this weapon in some way or another it's the number of times you can alter it and if you do this right here we click that let's say we're going to go ahead and try to upgrade the throwing damage to tier two it tells us down here it costs anywhere between 1 and 10 forging potential so we might only spend one of this 25 or we might spend 10 of it right and go all the way down to 15 and once it hit zero the item is done it's set in the way that it is and there's nothing we can do to it beyond that point right so you have until this forging potential is zero to get it to look the way you want it to look so let's say we did upgrade right and we successfully took it to tier two but it did cost us seven forging potential so we got four extra throwing damage on this item so it's now a plus seven throwing damage if we do control and alt we can see that that is a decent roll right in the middle of the tier 2 right the range is 68 and we got a seven not too shabby now we have more options from here we could continue to upgrade our throwing damage or we could try to upgrade let's say this wasn't an item that we found to be a keeper and this was a rare resource right we can upgrade something else and hopefully get a critical success every time you click upgrade there's a chance you get a critical success and what that does is it randomly increases one of the affixes on the item so it might take this T2 to a T3 or it might take this T3 to a T4 or it might even upgrade the one that you were upgrading so I would upgrade this to T2 get a critical success and take this to a T3 without having to spend any forging potential this is a valid way to try to get an increase of a rare stat so one thing you're always going to want to use while you're crafting are your glyphs of hope you're going to find tons and tons of these you will most likely have more than you need especially until you get into doing Giga crafting sessions later in the game but this is going to give you a 25% chance to have no forging potential cost so while you're crafting there's a chance that this doesn't spend anything and you get a free craft which is the dream right so let's do this again we're going to upgrade our cold resistance and there it is plus one throwing damage just what we were hoping hoping would happen so we got that critical success and we didn't have to spend any of our throwing damage shards because they're kind of rare and we got the throwing damage increase without using the throwing damage shards perfect that's exactly what we were hoping would happen so it didn't use any of our forging potential right it also upgraded two things at once one of which was one that we wanted it to upgrade now let's say you wanted to add another stat you're like okay these stats are good they're set they're as high as I want them to be and you wanted to add something else so this is on the left side so it's a prefix if you're not familiar with prefixes and suffixes all you need to know is prefixes are on the left suffixes are on the right and it tells you that up here at the Top If You Ever Forget and then what you can do if you're not sure which stats fall into prefix or suffix just click right here prefix now you're only seeing prefixes so this is limiting what you could put on the slot that you want so let's say we wanted to increase Mana so we can look at this and it says okay we could put the Mana there we could get Mana regeneration right we've got a few options there that we could put on there so let's go ahead and just put mana on this like let's just say that's what we wanted here boom and now we have mana on this item so now it has four stats instead of three as I mentioned earlier if you start out with a blue item so it has two stats on it blue items can only have two stats if you add a third item so let's say we added minion damage to this boom now that blue item is a yellow item it's now rare as for Unique so let's look at these boots right here you've got these unique boots but look can't forge uniques so you cannot alter uniques if you find them they are what they are and they always will be unless they have legendary potential like this one right here has one slot of legendary potential which would let us put a stat from one of our exalted items right there in that legendary potential spot but other than that you cannot modify your uniques another thing to be aware of is after you do a crafting session let's say you take your helmet off and you put it in there and you alter it and you do all this stuff to it and you close the menu and you go back to fighting be aware of the fact that that item is not on your character you have to actually take it out of the crafting Forge and put it back on your character now you will 100% forget to do that and you'll forget to do it a lot of times and I hope you think of me when you do because I do it every single time I craft so I feel your pain in that moment when you realize you just ran another 30 minutes of content and you weren't even wearing your chest piece I feel you brother I was there don't forget to take it out of the forge and put it back on your character after you're done modifying it now let's very quickly go over the other crafting options that you have here so we went over the glyph of hope this gives you a chance to craft for free 25% chance none of your forging potential is used right you got 22 on this item there's a 25% chance you don't use any of that forging potential so you get extra crafts for free then there is the glyph of chaos Glyph of chaos is what you would use if you had an item let's say you loved this item it was the perfect item but you hated the four Health on kill you're like oh man I could really put something better there and this item would be so much better right because that's just a dead stat so then what you would do is you would use the glyph of chaos you would select it put it there and then you would upgrade Health on kill now what it's going to do rather than upgrading Health on kill to T1 it's going to give it a random new suffix random new one any one that can be applied there so we upgrade and roll so boom it went to a T2 it gave us a critical success so our lightning damage went up heck yeah dude those critical successes are rolling in love that so it went to a T2 slow on hit right so is that still a dead stat to us maybe maybe not it didn't use any of our forging potential cuz we got critical success It upgraded it to tier 2 and it switched it over to slow on hit so if you still didn't like that you could do it again you know until you got a stat that wasn't a dead stat on the item that's just going to use glyphs of chaos that's how you use those next you've got Glyph of order this is what you would maybe use if you had a perfect roll let's say if we hold this here we can see that we have a 33% increased lightning damage right there our T2 roll is 33 out of 37 so it was a pretty good roll right it could have been anywhere from 23 to 37 we got 33 so let's say we loved that and we wanted to make sure that when we upgraded it it rolled at the top end of the tier again we could leave that there the glyph of order and that would make sure that we maintained that range when moving up to the next tier we'd be at the top of the range again then you've got glyphs of Despair this has a chance to seal an fx instead of upgrading it sealed AIX is moved to its own slot leaving its old slot open for you to add a new ax so you could use this to seal a stat onto the item and basically make room for a fifth stat like the boots I showed you earlier in the video right that the way that happened was one of the stats was sealed so we could say put this here and we could upgrade this and try to seal it so boom and it worked it successfully slid that stat over here now that stat can't be modified it's over here and it's always going to to be and now we have room for new suffixes we get out a new suffix so let's say we wanted to put a freeze rate multiplier on there on this weapon right it dropped down to blue because we removed one of its stats it's got two and then a sealed stat by the way the sealed stat is the gold one it makes it gold Tex down the bottom of the item there so we add this boom now the item has a total of four stats one of which is sealed right so it only counts as three and we can add another stat still you can say oh man what if we had health on kill and we could add that here boom now this item has five stats which is great that's a lot of stats to have on any single item and we were able to achieve that by sealing the item so that is what your Glyph of the spare is for now let's take a look down here at your runes that you're going to be picking up there's a bunch of runes that you'll be picking up as you play the game you've got Rune of shattering this is the one where you use it on the item and it's going to give you random number of those upgrade shards per tier right so if it's T2 it can give you up to two shards if it's T3 it can give you up to three of those shards if it's T1 it can give you up to one of those shards right so the higher the tier the better the chance of you getting multiple shards of the one you want but there is a chance like let's say you were trying to pull lightning damage off of this item there's a chance that you got spell damage and reduce Mana cost freeze rate multiplier Health on kill but you didn't get your lightning damage one you got all the other shards just not the one you want right so it's still a gamble every time but for that reason you always want to have a nice supply of shattering runes because there are some that are really really rare you won't find the shards very often but you'll find the items that you can shatter and get the shards from then there's the Rune of refinement this will reroll the values of all your a fixes let's say your item had really good affixes on it already the prefixes were good the suffixes were good all of them they were the right stats but the rolls were all really low on each one so they were hitting the bottom of the roll like in this case our freeze rate multiplier there had a range of 35 to 61 and we only rolled a 43 let's say that was the stat we really cared about we wanted it to be Max out we wanted it as close as 61 as possible we could just go ahead and roll this let's say refine right boom we did it and that freeze rate multiplier it went up to 39 so we didn't really get anything out of that nothing great all right the next one we have is Rune of removal removes a random AIX on an item returning a number of shards equal to its tier so this is one you could do if let's say you had an exalted item you're going to get a lot of these exalted items these are your really good items they're going to have one really pumped up stat a tier six or tier seven of a specific stat and so you're going to like it and a lot of times you'll hate one of the other stats on it you're like oh this item is almost good except one of the stats on it is a dead stat so you would go ahead and let's say we loved the 67% Health converted to Ward but man we just absolutely hated that 16% Mana regeneration it was just ruining the item for us right so we come in here and we go Rune of removal and we hope it takes off one of the bad stats cuz let's say actually they're all underwhelming but we love that 67% of potion Health converted to Ward so we go remove an AIX and we hope it didn't remove our purple one and it didn't it did remove one of the less interesting ones there for us we got to keep our percent increase health which is great and we got to keep our tier six potion Health converted to wart so that's what you would be hoping for and then you could go ahead and add the stat that was you know one that you wanted let's say you really needed fire resist right you could go ahead and you could put that on there now instead so you are always doing a little bit of gambling with the Rune of removal but if you successfully remove one two right bad stats that's going to let you put on stats that you need instead but there's also a chance it takes the stat that was good on the item and brecks it for you so definitely had that happen next we have the Rune of Discovery this is going to add a random tier one AIX to all empty AIX slots on an item has an increased chance of rolling rare affixes let's say we had this item this purple item still right and we remove another stat off of it boom oh no it took the purple stat so we break that item okay but let's say it didn't take the purple stat right and we use Rune of Discovery so we were going to keep our purple stat theoretically and add two more stats with a higher chance of rolling rare ones then you could use this to try and do that now the only reason this is useful is because it costs zero forging potential so you can use it just to see you know boom what did I get increase cool down recovery speed physical damage so it's pot potentially useful for you without costing any of your forging potential up here it's just to fill empty slots without using your forging potential hope you get lucky and maybe you can continue your craft from there next you have Rune of shaping you can reroll all implicits on an item so implicits are the stat up at the top so 8% physical resistance 6% fire resistance 5% poison resistance right we could reroll those and try to get higher values than that by rrolling so we go here and do run of shaping and reroll right now it's 865 shab it and we got 636 so looks like it was a bit of a downgrade on average and we lost forging potential so all in all not a great exchange for us but sometimes that's just the way the cookie crumbles next we've got Rune of ascendance Rune of ascendance is kind of cool it changes the item into a unique or set item of the same type so you put a ring in there and it's going to convert it to a unique ring so if you're looking for a unique helmet you can go ahead and collect random helmets and then slap them in here with a rune of ascending and upgrade them to uniques and hope that you get the unique helmet that you're looking for you do not need to find the exact type of helmet because it doesn't it doesn't work that way it won't let you find that unique base and then upgrade that to that same type of unique it's going to upgrade it to a random unique that fits in the same gear slot on your body then you've got Rune of creation this is going to duplicate the item but reduce the forging potential of both to zero so this is kind of like your mirror in this game right right so if you get an item it's basically perfect and it has you know just a little bit of forging potential left the last thing you can do is do this and duplicate it so that you know you could have more than one of that item now one type of gear I haven't talked about yet is experimental gear so let's talk about that really quick here experimental gear is this well it's this random blue stat on some items and they'll look like this they've got like the top half of the item is yellowish and the bottom half is bluish so it's like a it's this weird algam between a yellow and a blue item and it's got this one stat that's just experimental which means you cannot craft that stat onto an item you have to find it on the item so 14 Mana gained on potion use and 17% increased Mana regen for 4 seconds when you use a potion we cannot craft that onto an item if we want that stat we have to find an experimental item with that stat on it and then craft that into something good that is where the Rune of research comes into play so the Rune of research is going to allow you to seal that stat so we do that seal it now it's pulled that experimental note off and set it to the side and it opened up that slot for us so now we can add a fourth stat and make this into a potentially good item again otherwise you're losing one of your affixes to the experimental stat all in all experimental items are very Niche and they're going to be useful in a very select few builds in the game so if you see a way to utilize it in your build great if you don't that's okay they're not going to be for every build okay and that's everything that you need to know about crafting in this game as always if you have any questions about anything I've talked about so far in the video just leave it in a comment below I try to answer every single one okay now let's talk about the different types of endgame content that you're going to be doing in the game so you've got The Campaign as you progress through the game this is going to take you to about level 50 55 and along the way you're probably going to run into a couple of special instances so right here we've got the arena and other timelines you've got dungeons the soulfire Bastion for example so there's going to be three different Dungeons and there's going to be one Arena currently in the game and these places are incredible to visit each for their own respective reasons so let's go over how they work and what the rewards are for engaging with them because they are incredibly rewarding so the first one we're going to talk about here is soulfire Bastion it's in the Imperial era the way that these dungeons work is you're going to walk up to a door and then it'll say that it requires a key for each attempt so we put the key in there and we say hey we're going to enter and then it gives you the option of choosing different difficulty levels so at first you'll only be able to do the first difficulty level which is going to be tier one level 45 and then after you beat that it'll unlock tier 2 level 75 and when you beat that you'll unlock tier three which is level 92 and tier 4 which is level 100 so of course the harder the difficulty the better the rewards so the way this is going to work is you're going to enter into it and then you're going to be given this ability right here D so all of the dungeons come with an ability that's going to be automatically bound to D and each dungeon's ability Works different from the rest in soulfire Bastion you get the soulfire shield that's the shield that's around my character right now and every time I press D it can alternate between a shield that protects me from fire damage or a shield that protects me from necrotic damage right it's going to give me immunity to one of those two elements and every time I press it it's going to consume some of my soul Embers I've got five of them right now now as we're killing enemies we're going to see them dropping Soul Embers all over the ground so we're going to want to make sure we pick all of those up because we're not going to really need them that much for our Shield you know you might use it a little bit here and there but you're definitely rewarded for not using it as much as you can because when you get to the very end of the soulfire Bastion there's going to be a merchant there and you're going to spend whatever Soul Embers that you have left gambling for items from that Merchant every floor that you go down as you descend into the dungeon You're going to get these Buffs that are all going to be stacking up to enhance your experience at that Merchant so each time you run through this it's going to be different because you're going to have different Buffs by the time you get to the merchant and these Buffs are going to determine the quality of the rewards you get and the amount of rewards that you get and for instance when I did this run here I had enough to gamble for five items I got three exalted and two uniques so the items that you get from this dungeon are absolutely phenomenal drops making this an incredibly rewarding dungeon to run now these exalted items remember these are really really good to get these are what you're going to want to get so that you can fuse them with your uniques that have legendary potential and you'll take that to the next dungeon that we're going to talk about the next dungeon is called temporal sanctum you can find it down here in the southern part of the ruined era if you're looking for it and the way that this one works is you'll come up to the door yet again it's going to ask for a key as always you put your key in there and then you enter the sanctum it's going to show you which tiers of difficulty you have available to you each time you complete one it unlocks the next tier of difficulty for you to attempt and it tells you what the rewards for the higher tier difficult ulties are for tier two it says this dungeon will drop additional exalted weapons tier three more glyphs tier four more exalted Rings now the way that this one works as really unique you're going to be swapping between two different Realms you're in this realm here which looks decidedly different from the other realm here so you're going to be swapping between these two different eras right as you go through it and in one era you're not going to be able to see a path forward so then that means it's time to switch and then boom now there is a door that you can go through so now while you're running through this era you're occasionally going to get to you know doors that are closed so like right here this gate is closed so what we would do is we would check this era by pressing D and now look we can come through here and kill everything on the other side and keep progressing eventually you'll get close enough to the door where the map will start pinging and that's your sign to go to that location and descend to the next floor when you get to the next floor it's going to give you a new loot buff to take into the reward stage of this dungeon after you complete it so you'll get to the end of the dungeon you'll fight the final boss and when you you fight the final boss the most important piece of advice that I can give you is remember to use your temporal shift ability whenever he does a room wide AOE go ahead and switch eras so that you're not in the same era as this room wide ability cuz it will kill you he does it right off the bat as soon as you walk into the Boss Arena the first ability he's probably going to do is going to be that room wide AOE and this is kind of like the make sure you understand the mechanic because he's going to be doing things throughout the fight that cause you to shift eras basically so if something looks like it's going to hurt a lot you can just nope out of there by using your temporal shift now when you beat him you're going to go to the loot room and in this room you're going to get to do something really cool while you're playing the game you're going to be finding items with what is known as legendary potential these are potentially the best items in the game because what these are is you can take all of the stats from a unique and then you can add stats to it you can have multiple levels of legendary potential this one has a one next to the legendary potential right there which means we can only add one stat to it if it had a two we could try to add two stats to it and now this is purely RNG based because the way it works is it's going to open up a window it's going to let you put one unique with legendary potential in one side and then it's going to let you put another item in the other side so on that side what you're going to want to put there is an exalted item because what you're hoping is going to happen is the exalted stat that tier six or tier 7 stat that you have on that exalted item you're trying to get that ped off and put onto a unique item thereby potentially creating a best in slot item for your character now the downside is it requires the item that you put in there to have four affixes which means you only have a 25% chance of it grabbing the right AIX and putting it onto your unique item so in this case here I put this unique armor on one side and then on the other side I put a exalted armor with a tier six St but when I combined them it grabbed the random resistances stat below it and added that to my unique instead now when you combine a unique with an exalted item this way it becomes what is known as a legendary item and you get this pink border around it so just know that before you run this dungeon before you run temporal sanctum you're going to want to make sure you have some uniques with legendary potential and you're going to also want to have some exalted items of the same base that you can transfer onto the item so in this case I had a chest piece with legendary potential so I needed an exalt that was also a chest piece right same thing if you have a wand you're going to need to have another wand that you can transpose onto it it doesn't let you take a sword stat and put it onto your wand it doesn't let you take boots stat and put it onto your chest piece for example so it's got to be like with like so as you can tell there's the potential for this to be a really really powerful crafting system but there's a lot of RNG required right you've got to get a good unique and then that unique has to have legendary potential and then you have to take it to this device and you have to put your exalted item with a tier six or tier 7 stat and then hope that it pulls the T6 or t7 Stat and puts it onto your unique now there is a consolation prize like sometimes the stat that it grabs even though it's not a tier six or tier seven stat might still be a really good stat for you so you know if you have enough good stats on the item even if it doesn't pick your T6 or t7 Stat you might still get a decent outcome at the end and if it has two or three legendary potential you can pull two or three different stats off of so there is the potential for something really special to be made there and just so you know when you're using this device you're going to have to change eras you're going to have to use your D ability to change eras to put the pieces of gear into the device and then after you do that and activate it you've got to change eras to go get the resulting piece of gear the idea being that you went from a timeline way long ago into a timeline way in the future and this pieces of gear had a long time to fuse into what you eventually pull out now the third and final dungeon that we're going to talk about is the lightless arbor it can be found here in the ruined era right in the middle of the map so zoom in there it is dungeon of the lightless arbor you'll be able to see the symbol on the map as always these dungeon symbols will all show up and the way this one works is much the same so you're you're going to come here you're going to put your lightless Arbor key in and tell it that you want to enter again it's going to say you can choose whichever tier you have unlocked so far so each time you defeat one you'll unlock the next tier just like the previous dungeons you go inside the dungeon and it's going to give you an ability again so we have a new D ability here called burning Amber and the way this works is if you take damage it's going to deplete your burning Amber you can see I have a stack of one 100 right here and every time I take some damage some of that stack is going to go down and the light that my burning Ember is providing is going to get smaller and smaller so we can toss it on over there now if enemies are hitting me that are not being lit by that ember those enemies are doing way more damage to me while also taking way less damage from me right so enemies outside of this light hurt more and they're harder to kill enemies inside this light take more damage and are easier to kill they have less Health right so that's basically the name of the game game is you want to keep this light above your head you want to keep your Embers charged and as you're running through the lightless arbor you're going to be fighting things but there's a way to replenish the charges so if we let these enemies hit me really quick we can see I'm down to 71 charges there but whenever you see one of these guys right here these unrelenting ambers you can kill those and boom now I'm back up to full charges as you can see there I have 100 out of 100 and I just took some damage while I was showing you that so I'm no longer at 100 out 100 but that's how you refill it you just kill those guys it refills it back to 100 the light grows bigger and then it has a much wider range of seeing and debuffing the enemies that you're fighting there we are we killed another one and it took our Embers back up to full again now this one has a really fun reward room so you're going to get to the final boss there's a mechanic there where you use the Ember to ignite The Roots you kick its butt and then you move on to the reward room and once you get to the reward room the way this works is really fun this is your gold sink in the game besides spending your gold on infinite stash tabs you'll also be able to spend it on this room right here so when you have way more gold than you need you come here and you get to choose whether or not you accept rewards and the price will go up if you accept the reward and the price for the next one will go down if you reject the reward so you can keep accepting and then if it gets too spendy or something you don't like you can reject and that brings the price down overall in the long run the price is going to go up and up so you can't do this forever because eventually it's not going to be price effective it'll be better to just start over and do a new run and get those early cheap rewards but doing this can result in some pretty cool rewards and it's a fun way to spend your gold so that's all of the Dungeons and then there is one Arena that you can run presently it's located right here in the Divine era just left of Habor here so you're going to left and you've got the arena in Champions Gate so we go there when you arrive you'll be standing at this portal you'll click on that and as usual it's going to ask for a key so you'll put your key in there tell it you're going to enter the arena and it gives you the options of Arenas that you can enter into it's going to tell you that in order to have access to tier one you're going to have to have completed tier one just like the Dungeons and so on it tells you fight through 40 waves of monsters culminating in a fight against an arena champion and so that's exactly what you do you go in there and you complete these waves and every so often it's going to say do you want to continue you say yes and it's going to let you choose different types of rewards at various stages of this 40 different waves so it'll ask would you like more glyphs or would you like an exalted ring instead and you get to pick and then keep progressing towards the final boss and then you kill the final boss and you get this big loot pop and it puts you back out here and you can start it over again when you get to the tier four part of this you can get some pretty good XP the loot is pretty good and the XP is fantastic once you do the higher levels of this just because you're standing in the middle and waves of enemies are just constantly coming at you this is another nice fun way to get some experience and level up your character while getting some pretty decent rewards okay now let's quickly talk about the end game in last SEO so appropriately it's going to take place over here in the last era known as the end of time so we're in the end of time and you'll walk across this bridge over here and you'll start the first monolith known as fall of the outcast once there you'll be standing in front of a monolith like this one here you'll interact with it and it's going to show you a web like this and what you can do is you can play through each of these each of these is a map in Path of Exile or a dungeon Diablo in last Epoch they're called Echoes so you'll complete an echo and then you'll be able to go to the next one in line and every time you complete one it'll light up the ones down the way so you know what you're working your way towards and you can strategically make your way towards rewards that are more interesting for you if you hover over one it tells you exactly what the rewards are so in this case it says down at the bottom Echo rewards would be AIX shards so after you complete the map you'll come out of it you'll be in this room again and there will be a cash you open up the cash and it's going to dump a bunch of aex shards on you and then on the right there's going to be a chest you'll open that up and you'll collect your rewards now the important thing to know is if you die you don't get those rewards you can still complete it you can still get your experience to progress your bar this bar at the top here right CU you are trying to progress this ultimately that's how you're going to beat this monolith you right you'll be able to progress the bar and it tells you down there in the bottom right it says you're going to get 10 timeline stability and up to 22 bonus timeline stability you're also going to get 15% increase on item Rarity buff 5% increase XP gained and then the enemies are also going to get a buff enemies have a 35% chance to receive a glancing blow right so that's telling you this Echo is going to cause all of these things to happen and at the top it tells you how much of this bar will be filled by completing it so I can get anywhere from here to Here by doing this Echo right almost unlocking the first Quest and then the second Quest and then finally the third quest which is the boss once you fill this bar up enough you do the quest they're going to appear over here here you click on them whenever one's ready to do so you'll click on this one here when it's unlocked at 50 stability you'll click on this one here when it's unlocked at 250 stability and then this one the boss you'll do at 500 stability now if you fight the boss and you lose it's going to kick you out and it's going to take some of your stability away so dying takes some of your stability away what you'll have to do is run another Echo get back up to 500 stability then you can take another attempt at the boss so if you find yourself dying to the boss what that's what you'll probably have to do you'll have to go do another Echo then do another attempt at the boss if you die again you go do an echo then you can take another attempt at the boss cuz the bar here is going to be going back and forth over this threshold that you need to meet to be able to do the boss right you're going to have enough stability so that's how each of these work and they all work exactly the same way so you start on this one here you work your way through the the web of echo trying to fill that bar up so that you can fight the boss you beat the boss and then it's going to let you choose do you want to go to the stolen Lance level 62 or do you want to go to the black Sun level 66 there isn't a right or a wrong choice here you can do either one 62 is going to be a little bit easier than 66 and the experience that you get from Monsters caps out at five levels above your own so it's not like doing the 66 is going to give you more XP if your character is only level 52 anyway right you're getting capped XP on either one five levels above your character so if you're 52 the XP you're getting here is going to be capped at that of level 57 mobs and the XP you get here is going to be the same as level 57 mobs right these are just going to be harder because they're actually level 66 mobs ultimately you're going to want to do all of them because that's what this thing in the middle here is this is a blessing every time you kill a boss a screen is going to pop up asking you to choose between three different blessings it's random so you might get the blessing that you're looking for from that boss or you might not get the blessing you're looking for from that boss if that happens you can run through that monolith again summon the boss and hope that the blessing you're looking for becomes available you can open up your your inventory at any time and then click the blessings button to see which blessings your character currently has active you can also see which ones you've not discovered yet ultimately you're going to want to clear every single one of these so the order you go in isn't terribly important now with that being said there is a case to be made for making your way to the end of the monoliths as fast as possible which would mean you're going up as fast as you can CU you want to make your way to the top and here you have these three monoliths at the very top 1 2 3 that's going to be the spirits of the last ruin and the age of winter and these three are important because as soon as you complete all three of these then you unlock the ability to do empowered monoliths so instead of these mobs being level 58 they'll be level 100 when you do it so after you complete those three you'll walk up to a monolith and instead of it just giving you the first web it gives you this option here it says do you want to do normal or do you want to do legendary and normal will be that area's normal level and legendary will boot the mobs up to level 100 with a minimum Corruption of 100 so you would choose this and now you're doing the level 100 version of this monolith it's going to function the exact same as the non- empowered monolith right but up here it's going to say empowered and the rewards over here are going to be higher right you can see we've already got 50% increased item Rarity 50% increased experience gained but enemies also already have 50% more health and damage so the enemies are going to be a lot stronger have a lot more Health but but we're going to be greatly rewarded for defeating all of that and again you're going to want to complete all of these so that you can get your blessings and so that you can get the best version of them possible blessings can be anything from increased item drop rates increased experience to life leech for certain abilities the Buffs you get from blessings are all over the place and they can really add up to be substantial for your character here we've got 54% increased stun chance I went with on that one and this one had 36% crit strike avoidance this is all going to sound a little bit complicated until you start doing it yourself but then as soon as you start doing it you'll see how simple it is how easy it is to navigate these webs you just jump in here you do this one you complete it so I'll run one real quick so you can see what it looks like we'll choose it we'll go in here we're going to pick this one because hey let's say we wanted these glyph rewards open this up it's going to load us into the Echo and basically we're just going to start running it's not necessarily going to tell you exactly where you need to go just yet it's going to say sometimes something like slay enemies to locate the vial gate so basically you're just going to run through here killing enemies until you find that vile gate and you're going to see this bar start filling up right here you will almost always finish the echo before that bar fills all the way up my quest objective changed because I've killed enough enemies already I've only been in here for maybe 30 seconds it's showing me on the map it's pinging me to go to this location we're going to make our way over there and there after you finish defeating the enemies you get that popup it says it's complete and then on the right over here it says open portal and this is just going to take you back to the monolith so we're going to click that instantly because you don't want to die in here here you don't want to miss out on your rewards so you get back to the base and it's going to say hey you got some gold and some experience but then you get to open these two caches this one right here is going to be whatever the monolith said it would be so in this case it said it was going to be glyphs right so this will be a cach full of glyphs so we'll open it up and there it is Glyph of order Glyph of chaos Glyph of Hope right bunch of glyphs just like it promised and then this is a cache that you get to open after everyone that is just random crap so we click on that and it's a bunch of stuff nothing particularly useful for us there and then after you've done that you're going to open it up we just did this one so now we can work our way towards this one here if we want maces or we could work our way here towards this one if we're just looking for experience to level our character up and unlock more passives alternatively we could go back here and do this generally the farther you get from the monolith the better the rewards are going to be the more XP right so this one here if we look at it it says 15% increase item Rarity 10% experience gained but up here it says 25% item Rarity and 15% experience gained and those are going to last two different turns so it's going to start stacking so it kind of pays off to get as far from the from the monolith as possible as fast as possible to start having those rewards of both experience and item Rarity start to Skyrocket for you and then remember not to die because then you won't get your cash in your chest at the end it's also worth noting that when you're playing with a friend and you fill this bar up and you go fight that boss as long as you don't both die at the same time you can trade deaths until you beat the boss the game lets you die one at a time as long as you don't both die at the same time time you can get credit for defeating the boss now that doesn't work for the regular Echo if you die in a regular Echo with a friend or without a friend in the game there's no rewards for you at the end but the boss fights you can kind of chase by trading deaths as long as you don't both die at the same time if you're wondering what level you'll be when you start all of this you'll probably be close to level 55 when you start doing monoliths you know the game is set up such that you beat the campaign around 55 and then you're going to head into your monoliths and by the way there is a benefit to completing the campaign because you have the option to come do list before you complete the campaign but if you complete the campaign you're going to get plus one to every stat right here which is kind of a big deal that's just enough to be worth completing the campaign in my opinion it's not huge but it's definitely something and since it's one of every stat you know that adds up to a nice little gain for your character there but so you'll do that you'll beat the campaign if that's what you want to do and then you'll come to the monoliths around level 55 and you'll start pushing your way up it and your level won't be the thing that determines you might be doing the level 75 one at level 60 that's not uncommon right and you might be doing the level 851 at level 70 that's not uncommon the level of the mobs can be way higher than you and that's going to be just fine as long as your character can handle it if you find that your build is starting to slow down it's starting to struggle a little bit you know go horizontal instead of going vertical and fight lower level mobs get your blessings that you don't have yet get gear in slots where you need upgrades right all that good stuff so that you can eventually then go do these last three and start doing empowered monoliths if you have any questions about any of the stuff I just said about monolith just you know leave a question in the comments and I'll get it answered as soon as I can I try to read every single one of your guys's questions here's one where I've made quite a bit of progress and you can see like down here at this point it's telling me that these Buffs are lasting six turns so I get 19% increase item rity for the next six Echo and I can stack that then I can do this one then I can do this one right here that gives me 23% item riority for the next four Echo right you can get yourself to have really high levels of increased item Rarity and really high levels of increased experience gained doing these that difference between the regular monoliths and the empowered ones is that you can skip the doing the first two quests and then just fill it up to the third bar and just go straight to fighting the boss without having to do the two Quest instances that lead up to the boss so you'll just basically run these Echoes until you get this filled up this bar up to this point then you go kill the boss and then you get to choose your blessing again okay next let's quickly Breeze through the important settings that are available to you in this game you can change your preferred region so make sure to pick the one that has the best ping for you you can check or uncheck moving to melee attack enemies that are out of range if you don't like your character moving unless you have it moov you can uncheck that you can have display damage numbers on or off you know you can display health bars over enemies Heads This is these are ones that I always turn on in every RPG I come in here and I always turn this on and turn this on I like to see health bars over my enemies heads and I also like to see the health bar over my head it's so much easier to see the green bar right here when I'm in combat as opposed to you know glancing all the way down here into the bottom left to see what my health is at another really big one is going to be your overlight map opacity right here you can crank this up especially when you're going into like desert areas where the terrain is really bright and light colored it's going to be hard to see your overlay map if you're an overlay map enjoyer so just come in here and crank this up and then you'll be able to see it clear as day whereas if you don't do that it could be harder to see you can choose your loot filter in here we went over that already how to set up your loot filter you can come in here and check Auto compare items so that when you hover over an item it will automatically compare it to what you're wearing that is not on by default so I'd recommend turning that on if you're someone that really dislikes screen shake you can come here and turn that off or if you don't mind it but you just don't like too much of it you can turn the intensity down toow if you're someone that plays on multiple screens and your cursor keeps leaving the window be sure to turn on lock cursor to game window another thing you can do is mute the error voice line stops your character from saying voice lines like not enough Mana so if you're someone that's like constantly you know you're out of Mana or you're on the verge of being out of man and your character is going not enough man not enough man right and you don't want to hear that anymore you can just click this mute those voice lines so your character stop saying it out loud this will spare you or anyone that's watching you play from going insane and then there's also the game guide where if you want to know more about a certain topic you can come in here and read up on it whether you're trying to understand how skill specializations work or unlocking skills Works implicits what does that mean right there's any arpg terminology that you don't understand you can find it in here get a brief explanation for you and then finally you have the in-game cash sh this is where you can come and support the developers if you're appreciating the game and you're appreciating what they've done here you know they've got a nice little Cosmetics stop there is no pay to win in here there's not even pay for convenience this is 100% above board all it is is Cosmetics so you pay for the game and everything you need to play the game is included and then if you want to spend a little bit of extra money to support the devs you can come in here and buy a couple things in the cash shop then if you press L on your keyboard you can see the ladder if you get really hardcore into this game and you want to start pushing the ladder see where you rank on it this game is launching with a ladder yes that is something that is possible to do so if you're into that then you can come in here and you can try to push your way to the top of the ladder you can also see what builds people are using to get to the top of the ladder so if that's something you're super passionate about or something that you're super interested in you know seeing which builds are working would be a great first step to pushing the ladder all right
