Kayak Fishing New Smyrna | Callalisa Creek

foreign [Music] we are in the water today I'm out here in New Smyrna on the kyalisa river I'm probably going to be heading Upstream right now because it's almost the end of high tide and then I'm just going to ride that current all the way back down back to the truck so that's the plan I got top water tied on right now this morning and I also got a swim bait and a little shrimp so we'll see if we can get on anything on artificial today it's supposed to be a good day so let's see if we can make something happen to this little cut see if I can find the fish up here by the mangroves or something on top water [Music] [Applause] [Applause] that's not what it looks so good whenever you're fishing there's no waste [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] got something I don't know what it is though doesn't seem too big it's a Jack it's kind of right on that point too right where I thought there was going to be a fish a little Jack on the uh on the swim bait well the skunk is out I'm glad with that [Music] all right well we got still in the kayak so that's good now let's see if we can put something better in here I would like to get one of those big 20 pound Jack I've never had one of those at the end of my line I know they fight good I've seen videos but I've never seen them that big up here this far up in New Smyrna we all have to come come down south and see if I can find one one day [Music] you can find a fish up in this Cove right here [Music] this is why I got the kayak too so I can get into spots like this where the boat's not going to be able to get through or it's going to be difficult but I don't got to worry about nothing if I gotta get out and drag it through I can get out the kayak and drag it and the boat obviously you got the motor and all that you don't want to mess up no propellers out here and it's good right now that we're on high tide too because I can get up in all these little spots find a little hopefully a red fish real Snook sea trout Maybe also too any recommendations on a fish finder that I can put on this thing um I know a lot of people put Lowrance on the on kayaks so I'm thinking about going with those one of the hooks number I don't even know but I know it's like the hook model something about putting one that way I can start using that too as well when I'm fishing foreign was that Jack in the morning and I hooked up to something but I didn't I didn't get it so I don't know what it was but let's see if we can find something else I'm hoping been a slow morning once I start that tie starts changing hopefully the fish will start biting [Music] from Google Maps I know this little Bend right here is there's a pretty deep hole so I'm gonna try to fish it maybe there's some fish hanging around at the bottom that's why I want to get a fish finder so whenever I go over these holes I can try to find fish that are in deeper sections let me know in the comments any recommendations on them fish finder it's been too crazy because I mean it is like it is only a kayak I'm not trying to putting on 12 inch display on here we go switch to a little crank bait I got something oh another Jack [Applause] [Music] ET well this is gonna be a Jack ten a day easy little yogurt quick bit good a little junk a little bit bigger than one in the morning but better than nothing wasn't getting any fish on on the swim bass when I switched to that crank bait in finally hooked up to something then we're gonna find something else around these uh around these bends [Music] it's been a couple hours since I caught a fish that was that was the second fish of the day it's been kind of slow but get it somewhere oh there we go I was falling right behind me while I was going up hooked up to something it's probably another Jack but thank you another Jack that was cool though I was just trolling it down the side well I went back up the river and hooked them [Music] it's not too big about the same size as the other one gotta be careful with these treble hooks I definitely don't want one in my head [Music] comes out a little junk I guess I can try another little drift see if I can catch another one it's probably a big school hanging around here so I'll flow back down and then I'll come control it on the way back up catching the jack is still better than not catching anything feels good at least having something at the end of your life so I can't complain about that all right no success on natural let me just keep it moving see if we can find anything else [Music] the Tide's going now down now so I'm gonna be able to find these pockets through all these lures where the water's moving hopefully that way I can find some fish then I'm gonna start hitting all these oyster beds because I'm gonna start seeing all the oyster beds out here now so let's see if we can find some fish that way I thought that was a fish but I'm headed in the bottom a lot of oysters out here I hope I can find the snook that's the that's the main goal right now it's finding the snake Jacks are fun but snook would really make my day [Music] this 360 paddle drive too is pretty awesome I haven't struggled all day I just fixed myself with the current a couple petals and I stay in one spot just like you saw right there I turned I turned right around I don't have to go back or forward or none of that so it's pretty sweet definitely I mean I've been out here all day since since uh it's 12 11. I got on the water a little bit before seven so and I'm really not tired I just don't keep going and I remember when I had the when I had a paddle I remember when I had a paddle I get tired quick and if you stop paddling and that current was moving you'd be back in the same spot you started so this is definitely a good upgrade for me I wanted to get a trolley motor one but you got to register them and all that so I figured I'd just get a pedal drive use it because I'm not going to use it that much in any way so I figured going down to a pedal drive and should be finding so far I've liked it they're good so no complaints I mean the trolling motor would have been good because it would have had spot lock but I mean I'm just gonna take it down the rivers and to Lakes so I don't think I'll I'll be needing the trolling motor [Music] I thought it was another jackpot a tiny little Mangrove hit it look at this look at the size of this he's about the same size as the lure and try to eat it different species at least
