tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the church or online at WWE we look forward to seeing you there [Music] have you ever gone to your favorite restaurant and you had a hard week you were stressed and strained beyond what you thought you could endure and you've been looking forward to an agreeable meal some wonderful fellowship you are hungry your your your your body is craving your favorite meal and you drive up perhaps thirty minutes driving and then ten minutes looking for a parking spot and you finally get in the restaurant starving hungry and every seat is full people are eating and you're hungry some people are finished eating and they just sitting down talking and you want to go and pick up the stuff from that table and say to them will you get out of here please you're hungry had a tough week strained beyond your capacity almost you've driven 30 minutes ten minutes looking for a parking space finally get inside the restaurant starving to death hungry and there's no seat available and the host or hostess trying to be kind is looking for somewhere for you to sit and they are trying to please you because they can see how agitated you've become and you're so hungry that you don't care thing about ambiance you don't care anything about lighting you don't care anything about music you don't care anything about sitting near the door or at the window you're so hungry then when she asks or he asked where do you want to sit any place will do just just anywhere will do as a believer you were stressed all last week strained beyond almost your ability to bear it you've driven here 30 or 40 minutes found a parking spot got in the church and somebody is in your seat but you are so hungry for the Living bread you're so desperate to hear a word from the Lord that it does not matter where you send just anywhere will do I just want to be in God's presence I just want to be in the Fellowship of God's people I just want to be around when God is handing out blessings how amiable are your Tabernacles how lovely how glorious how exciting it is to be in your tabernacle I can be in the back and still have a good time I can be in a choir and still give God friends I can shout in the overflow and just give God the glory power me how a be able are you tabernac my soul life even faint it's for the courts of the Lord this song is a song written by the sons of Korah the sons of Korah are Temple singers and doorkeepers some 84 through Psalm 88 is a psalm of Korah and verse 2 sounds like the other Psalm of Korah Psalm number 42 unlike the deer panted after the water broom I wish I had a Bible reader so panicked my soul after the old God if you really love God it doesn't matter where you are in the sanctuary it doesn't matter where you are in the tabernacle if you really love God just anywhere will do [Applause] listen to me verse 3 talks about a sparrow and a swallow building a nest unless implies a place of rest I mentioned it to the brothers in the back if you haven't noticed that you ought to come around here sometimes during the day there's a little wood portion of the of the the front part of the church where every once in a while some birds build a nest at the truth in the Lord's house they build a nest and the some smart person around here decided to put up a wooden owl and owls is supposed to frighten these birds but the birds go get him some grass and build them a nest and they lay their eggs right in that nest and where after you pass by you might notice that they might be in there this morning he's just singing they're just happy they're just glad and they're looking down at us as we walk out and say do y'all you think that we don't know this is a wood now I mean that y'all think that we are that crazy that we would build a mess around a live owl and then do y'all really think we don't know that owls are nocturnal creatures I also even come out in the daytime somebody ought to help me preach it I'm going to church in the day cuz nothing's gonna frighten me that's what a bird has sense enough to say now if a bird has sense enough to enjoy being in the Lord's house anybody here that God woke up this morning but food on your table gave you a job to go to in the morning that you can take care of yourself you ought to have sense enough to find rest in the house of God here my children here my brothers and sisters not all the birds that feel the heavens could have a house at the church swallows and sparrows it is right here in the text the first three swallows and sparrows build their house at the church the rest they find peace at the church but not all birds are restful at church and I think I've nothing to do what I want to preach about that's I just threw that in my notes to give you this one for free not all the birds that that feel the heavens could find rest at the church and the birds that don't find rest at the church unlike some people uncomfortable atchoo [Applause] sparrows and swallows a comfortable at church but there some birds who can't make it here Eagles don't build nests at the church because Eagles are too ambitious [Music] [Applause] they soar to HIGH they're too proud to build a house and find peace at the church vultures don't build nests at the church cuz they're always picking on dance though they're found we have a bad breath they can't get along with other birds so vultures don't build nests at the truth hops can't build a nest at the church because a heart is a bird for war and warring birds can't find rest at the church chickens and roosters hens and geese aren't comfortable at the church because they need somebody else to feed them [Applause] owls can't find an S at the church cuz I was preferred darkness knocking birds can't build an S at the church because mocking birds are too full of themselves and like the Eagles summer you can't shout cuz you're too ambitious like the vulture summer you can shout cuz you're too found like a hot summer you can t shop cuz you're always ready to fight somebody like a chicken you can you shout because you depend on somebody else's shout you like an all-you-can-eat shout because you prefer darkness like a mockingbird you can't shout cuz you're too pretty to get happy but to the sparrows and the swallows in here who are lowly and little and know that without God you can do you want something to shout about listen to Jesus Sermon on the Mount consider the birds of the air I wish I had somebody to help they don't create it on they don't plan anything they don't harvest anything but your heavenly Father takes care of it now God takes care of the fowl of the air don't you know God will take care of you somebody ought to help me preach it God will look out for you he's looking out for the sparrow and his eye is on the sparrow and I know I'm not guessing I know if God's eye is on the sparrow no he's watching over me I want you to see one or two things in this thing blessed are they Forest for says the dwell in the house of the Lord they will be still crazy when you love God's house you still shouting after church is over I wish I had a real shout at him you you're still chewing on the word you're still feasting on the worship two or three days after church is over you just you just driving the work and you think about a song that somebody said are you thinking about a word that was spoken and you're in a 45 mile per hour zone and you're going 60 because you're so excited about what happened two days ago I wish I had a real shouting in here this morning people who really love God you start getting ready for church on Friday you have to be raised like I was raised to shout with me right here you have to be raised around old folk like I was read in order for you to enjoy what I'm about to say right now I knew when my grandmother wasn't going to church I knew when my grandmother was not going to church because if she didn't have her clothes on the bed and her stockings out and her shoes out and a purse and a hat and our gloves I knew she wasn't going to church because she would start getting ready on Friday putting her stuff out laying it out there to make sure that everything matched and then she changed the mind sometimes Saturday morning and put another hat out there because she didn't get ready for church on Sunday morning she laughed in law's house so much that she started singing before she got to church and that's why it takes some of us so long to shout because we haven't been getting ready to come the truth but I woke up this morning have a got a witness with my mind not just this moment but yesterday mo hear me I want to say a word to ushers and greeters this morning verse 10 talks about just anywhere will do I'm just happy to be a church coz when I'm at church first in says I'm in my place before I get into that you remember when Jesus rose from the grave and he showed up to his disciples after some days and Thomas the Bible says was not there well why do you think that the Bible just mentioned is that Thomas was not that of all the stuff the Bible could have said about Jesus his first appearance to his disciples it said what it had to say then the Bible says but Thomas the twin minimus was not present come on come on ask me why Thomas wasn't it ask me why Thomas was missing come on come on ask me you can ask Thomas was missing because he was missed [Applause] never let that sink in a minute you are not missing until you miss and only folk who love you miss you if you are used to coming to church if you're not in the seat that you regularly sit in you miss we know you're missing cuz you miss when I leave this world I want somebody to miss me I wish I had a witness I don't want to live longer than the people who gonna miss me miss me to know that I've been here that I've made a difference that I was in my place making an impact cuz we're in your place when you're in your place you're in the place of service you're in the place of service listen to my issues just because what you do is not always visible does not mean that what you do is not always valuable because because when deacons don't show up uh sure sure when the choir doesn't show rushers sure and what you do may not always be visible but because it's not visible does not mean it's not valuable you watch people who work in the church because they want to be seen they want attention they want that name on the program if you're really serving God you don't care who sees it who knows about it who's written about it you don't you don't have to be president you don't have to be chairman if you're really here to serve God you may not always be visible but in God's sight you're valuable when you're in your place you're in the place of service and then when you're in your place you're in the place of surrender let me run back to Thomas again when Jesus came the second time the Bible says he walked through the door and Thomas was there and prior to Jesus entering in Thomas heard the testimony and he said I will not believe until I put my finger in the print of his side and Jesus came through and then even opened the door he just walked in and Thomas saw him and Thomas fell at his feet and said my lord and my god and Jesus said Thomas you believe because you've seen but blessed are those who have not seen and yet they believe have I got a witness here God don't have to open the Red Sea for me I believe because he's already done it God doesn't have to go back and send Jesus to the cross to die he's already done it and I believe him and you ought to be able to shout on what God is already done he's already opened the door he's already made a way he's already put money in your pocket you are a shout about what he's already done [Applause] do many of us need God to do a new thing every day for us to have a good time at church if we stayed here till tomorrow morning we could be shouting about what God has already done Thomas surrendered and said my lord and my god thank God for those of us who have surrendered to the will of God in our lives and only when you're in your place can you serve and surrender but in that place brothers and sister is also satisfaction because here my children the worst that the Lord gives us is better than the best that the devil gives us the worst that the Lord gives us is better than the best that the devil gives us you help me preach this won't you you ought to live long enough to recognize that every Apple the devil gives has worms in it every thrill every excitement every joy every happiness that comes from the devil has worms in it but every good gift I wish I had a Bible real accurate perfect gift comes from a power from the Father of lights and whom there is no shadow of turning [Applause] if you got some aches and pains this morning that's better than the aches and pains you could get from the devil somebody ought to help me preach it nobody had to dress you this morning you ought to tell God thank you nobody had to bathe you this morning nobody had to feed you all calm your hair this morning you ought to tell God thank you for a reasonable portion of my health and strength Bridgeton puts us in our place but in verse 11 we can enjoy God's provision look at with me at verse in the level for the Lord God is a Sun and a shield the Sun talks about his prison he lights our way he warns our way the author of the hymn Amazing Grace was was was on a slave ship John Wesley was on a slave ship he was he was John Newton was on a slave ship he was carrying a cargo of slaves and in late in the night he the story is he felt his heart strangely warmed and he moved from trading slaves along with Wilbur Wilberforce over in the Lord Grenville's England and he started this abolitionist movement against slavery because he felt his heart strangely war sometimes God just moves on your heart and it don't have to be Sunday morning somebody has felt God on a Wednesday afternoon you have felt God sitting down at your office at work and you just look back over your life and see how far God has brought you how many doors God has opened for you and you have to remind yourself that you were at work and I can't shout over here with these white people I can't carry on and tap nothing in this office that I can't pay for but as soon as you got in your car I wish I had somebody here who knows how to shout and you don't have to be an integral if God's been good to you and he warms your heart sometimes in the midnight hour that's the time for you to give God some praise he's a son he warms me he lights my way your word is a lamp I wish I had a Bible reader until my feet and a light to my pathway the Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid when the wicked even my enemies and my fold came upon me to eat up my foot they stumbled and they fell I'd rather be a doorkeeper I'd rather be a lowly doorkeeper in the house of my god than to dwell in the tents of the wicked [Applause] because when you walk with God he'll keep you pretty he'll keep you looking good that's an order that's a shine that's a glow about your presence you in your anus but you look like you're in your 50s when you hang around with the devil he'll make you old before your time [Applause] you're in your thirties but you look like you're in your seventies because when you run with the devil he'll take you around and around and let you off wait let you off and you ain't been nowhere but when you walk with the Lord Isaiah said he'll keep you till your hair turns gray time I got a witness here blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the way of sinners nor sits in the seat of the scornful but his delight come on you can help me say is in the law of the Lord and in nothing meditate both day and night come on you can help the quote and he shot me like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season his leaf also shall not wither and whatever he does [Applause] what are you doing woody prosper you won't he give your divine favor a deed in your cause is better than a thousand a day uh sure in at the church a day opening the door at the church is better than a thousand days open the door at a clue [Applause] one of them last longer but the other one is a much sweeter [Applause] cuz every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before you are not care what you do have to church just so I get in the door I don't have to preach I can say Amen I don't have to sing I can cap for the one singing I don't have to teach the lesson I can learn from the one teacher a day in your course it's better than a thousand I'd rather be a dorky I mean I look like much to you may not be visible to you but in God's sight is valuable and I don't care what you think about what I do cuz I'm not doing what I do to impress you if when you give the best of your service telling the world that the Savior has come beat up is made if men don't believe you he'll understand and say well done he's a son and then he's a shield he's above us he's around us the son is his presence the shield is his protection and in the same verse he'll give you grace and glory my grace is enough for me but he'll give you also glory cuz God is just in the habit of giving you double what you asked for something to help me shovel we need grace while we travel but we need glory when we get home because this Psalm Psalm 84 is a travelling song but summer is ending the harvest is past autumn is now upon them and they make an annual pilgrimage to the Feast of Tabernacles and at the Feast of Tabernacles they they bring their first fruits they bring their bread offering they bring their grain offering because God has blessed them with everything that they've asked for and they are traveling on their way to the tabernacle and on the way to the tabernacle they need grace and when they get there they need glory you'll help me preach this watch it on your way to church you need grace and when you get here you need glory you know how many people could have run into you on your way here this morning you know how many cars God slowed down or sped up because he knew you would be at that intersection so I don't help me preach it that's not because you're a careful driver it's because of God's grace and then when you get to church you ought to thank God for his glory because his grace helps you for the day but if glory gives you hope for the morrow grace is help for the day but glory is hope for tomorrow someone ought to help me close it thank God for letting me get to church but when I get to church I don't want to keep my mouth closed no no no no he's been too good to me for me to get all the way here to church and then keep my mouth closed he's allowed me to have too many pretty clothes to wear he's allowed me to have most shoes and I can put on he's allowed me to have a car and money to put gas in him so I can't sit here this morning and act like I'm not grateful he's raised up friends for him he took care of my house when the hurricane was blowing he made a way out of no way and so I just got here this morning to tell God thank you not for what you're going to do but thank you for what you've already done and if he doesn't do anything else he's already done more than enough if you've had some prayers answered right now would be a good time to tell God Lincoln if you've had some ways mean now would be a good time to tell God freaking if you've had some doors open now would be a good time to tell God thank you if the Lord made a wave for you why don't you grab somebody why don't you encourage somebody tell her man I don't know come on use your preaching voice I don't know what you're going through but whatever you're going through this too will pass he'll make a way he'll bring you out he'll pick you up turn you around place your feet on solid ground if God kept you shake somebody's hand if God made a way for you why would you tell somebody I don't but I've been true but I've been through God's been good to me thank you Jesus thank you Jesus thank you Jesus I know he's all right [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm rather cap see this then silver or gold I'd rather have Jesus then mansions untold cuz if I got Jesus I've got everything I need he walks with me he talks with me has he kept you has he never left you did he help you did he bring you out then this is a good place to tell God slinky why don't you grab your praise but grab you a shout out right now and tell them let me tell you something you don't know my story you see me carrying on this morning but you don't know what I've been through you don't know what I come out of you don't know how many dogs God is you don't know how many ways God is me you don't know how many tears God has tried thank you shake it shake it shake it thank you I know [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I'd rather I'd rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my god than to dwell in the tents of wickedness cuz wicked living will make you old before your time you may you may think you've gotten away with it you might be enjoying yourself in the Bahamas but a wicked living or catch up with you it'll slow you down before your time but when you save God when you stay with God you keep you fresh young and powerful because he will withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music]
