it's simple but sometimes it ain't pastors i'm just like you know because when god your dog thank you god in the middle of lord we just asked you this morning to do what you came to do do what you came to do god allow us to surrender our hearts oh god allow us to be open for instruction to move go ahead and go ahead and guide us lord god because we're ready to follow we're ready to follow through jesus we thank you for every person represented in this house oh god we thank you even for the viewers online father god you know where we are you know what we need we ask that you meet us lord god lord we thank you even for the shepherd father god we ask that you continue lord to just go oh god anoint her from head to toe father continue to shield and protect her oh god touch her in her body lord god just be whoever she needs you to be for you are the i am you are lord i thank you this morning i thank you for the gift of life i thank you for the breath you have breathed into me hallelujah because it's your breath in our lungs and we are pouring out we're pouring out on you god we ask that you receive us and move how you want to move in jesus name hallelujah so [Music] i hey family this is pastor jennifer lead pastor here at jackson revival center church i am honored to be sharing this moment of worship with you as we prepare to give of our tithe and our offering i am excited today about the word of god i was thinking about when god told abraham fear not for i am your exceeding great reward look it was over for me right there because exceeding great means there are no limits there is nothing that can stop the blessing that i am releasing over your life listen there is no true success without a successor when god spoke that over abraham's life and said fear not for i am your shield and your exceeding great reward when god spoke that over abraham's life abraham began to talk to god about his son in other words abraham said lord i grasp the bigness of what you have just spoken over my life and i will never get to the bottom of what you have just released over me so i need a son i need someone to share it with that abraham had something he received from god that he thought generationally every young person in this building ought to be at the edge of your seat right now because right now if god has spoken a word over your mother over uh your father they are the cup but you are the saucer which means when they get to the place that they are full you're supposed to be the one catching the overflow you're supposed to be the one receiving that exceedingly great you're supposed to be the one receiving the overflow and you can't do that if you are not in position how do you position yourself to receive the overflow how do you position yourself to receive generational blessing prepare yourself and position yourself by coming into covenant relationship with the lord jesus christ that you believe on him as the scripture has said and once you believe on him you begin to covenant with him through the tithe through the offering through the sowing of your seed so that he may release to you a harvest listen i'm excited about what god is doing during this time and i want you to be in place to receive the overflow mothers and fathers i want you to be in place to speak the blessing to release the blessing and to be so in covenant with god that you're thinking not only about your sons and your daughters but your grandsons your granddaughters great-grandsons great-granddaughters that god is saying i want to release something to you so great that it will take generations to come to the end of it that there is a generational blessing god is ready to pour out and i don't know about you but i'm ready to receive let's pray heavenly father we come to you right now we thank you for every good and perfect gift we thank you you are the giver of every good and perfect gift we thank you for generational blessings we thank you that we don't have to fear we thank you that you are our shield you are our protection and you are our exceeding great reward we thank you that your blessing upon our life is unlimited now we ask that you give us the grace to position ourselves all for grace to trust you more father help each one have the courage the trust to release to you that that belongs to you that we may receive the overflow we thank you for it now we declare it to be so in jesus name everybody said amen amen and amen listen if you want to give and you're in the building there are receptacles along the walls also our opportunity to hear god uh through the vessel of a spoken word artist that blessed us tremendously um and her name was michaela norwood can we give her a hand and before we before we bring her up i just want to share with you guys a few of her accolades over the past few years in 2019 she was a part of the motown mike spoken word artist of the year in 2019 also the first annual free life productions llc event with fruit aiku and haikus for the blossoming soul book launch in 2020 spoken word artist for zeta phi beta sorority incorporated centennial celebration in washington d.c in 2020 also the guild opened for angela davis for university of michigan's mlk symposium at hill auditorium and in 2020 also featured artists with sulfur sounds detroit for international women's day ladies and gentlemen jrc can you put your hands together as we welcome the gift of michaela norway [Music] good morning church it's such a blessing to be with you all today my name is mikaela norwood and i just want to give honor to the pastor of this house thank you so much thank you so much i i am here from detroit i flew down last week because my grandmother transitioned to heaven and we had our funeral right here and i did a poem called i was creator i am father that spoke so much about sonship which i am hearing you guys are really into right now so uh this poem i'm actually going to do a different one because i believe you guys are all walking in your sonship and i'm so grateful to god for that so this is actually a poem to encourage and even challenge that to take you up a little bit higher okay so this is a poem called aquarium i hear you like nature so you come to aquariums like this to be entertained to see the water experience the beautiful fish stepping up so close to the glass it seems you can almost swim with them but don't step as close as i did because that was the day i almost drowned in it sorry let me rewind uh you may know my story the one of my demise and for the life of me i understand why people like you would rejoice in that but for the death of me i still believe that for those who profess to be true christians that it is possible for you to celebrate the defeat of sin without simultaneously celebrating the defeat of the sinner so that it actually moves you it bothers you when a sinner like me dies in his sin but before i died i lived with all of the feelings underneath the sun so ask me how i felt about plague one and i'll tell you the fact that the average human body cannot survive past five days without clean water yet god smote our waters made it blood and i could have sworn that all of egypt had become vampire territory we were that ready to drink it we were that thirsty for something never knowing that we were really thirsty for someone a savior who wouldn't come till years down the line but when he did blood and water spilled forth from his side the two intermingling in the most beautiful way the world would ever see i wish i could have set aside my bloody pride long enough to see it ask me how i felt about plague two and i'll tell you the truth frogs in your bed is just straight up unpleasant even more unpleasant than frogs in your bed are frogs that are dead heaped up in thousands of piles acting as if they were buildings trying to scrape the sky my people will never forget the stench yet my heart was still hardened until came plague three with lice and up until this time my magicians could recreate any kind of sign this god could perform but this plug was not like the norm tail between their legs my men ran to me and said this was the finger of god and they couldn't wrap their heads around how to duplicate the original anymore plague four was much like plague three only with flies instead of lice and suddenly there came a great divide because these flies did not touch the israelites so by plague five when all of our livestock died and theirs didn't it suddenly dawned on me that their god could see not like our gods who had eyes but no vision no their god could create clear division between right and wrong between his sheep and us goats faithfully proving he could protect and provide for his own without their toil plex six came with boils until my men could no longer even stand before moses in his presence plug seven when this god tells us to put away our remaining men and livestock before hell came down bigger than the size of our faces have you ever seen fire and ice coexist i have and it's not as great as you would think plague 8 came with a blanket of locusts so think you could hardly see the earth through it like 9 you just couldn't see at all darkness so heavy so thick it pressed against your bones you could feel it you could speak to it and it would talk back saying things my heart is too fearful to meditate upon but things my mind betrays me to never forget so ask me how it felt to know that the darkness was more alive than i was or that the israelites were where the light was what could be more damaging to the soul than all of your life existing in darkness knowing that the children of god are living in the light and yet they are not coming to help you this is a darkness i still fight through a war i know i will never win against because with each new day it feels like plug 10 hits and he takes my son and it hurts like it hurts like hurt and i'm sorry that i can't make that experience sound more poetic than it does but ain't no simile for that i hear you like nature so you come to aquariums like this but step a little bit closer and you'll see more than fish at the bottom of this here tank you will see me have you ever been up against blue walls beautiful infinite with so much life swimming within it yet knowing that within the next minute this beautiful blue cacophony will be your coffin ending i have and you read about it and laugh you watch the ending of the prince of egypt and rejoice even because you think that you are so much better than me or that we are so different but look at my hands and see the thick calluses that have developed from all of the years of me trying to pull back what god was pushing forward look into my mind and see that the sadness and confusion that plagues me now comes because the same one who confronts me now is the one who suckled from the breast of my mother had the audacity to call me brother please look into my eyes and see the determination of a man who is simply trying to do the best that he can to keep this land operating in the same way as his father and his grandfather and all of the forefathers who successfully led from the throne in which i sit how would their eyes look at me if i was the first to fail at it look into my heart and see that i am going through an identity crisis all of my life i've been told i was a god suddenly moses confronts me and proves there is only one and it's not me i was groomed to lead since birth but if there are no slaves to follow then tell me who will i be what then will be my worth so yeah i said no because i was scared just like all of those who are standing behind me because trust me i'm not standing in this beautifully broken aquarium by myself no no no no no no three of your co-workers are here they've all been told by god to quit their job so he can push them into their career but all they see is the money for today so they stay so paige may never find the cure to aids like she's supposed to and dan has always had the most beautiful hands hands to paint with but dan would rather a man hand him the keys to his new car then god hand him the keys to his heart which is art so he keeps that part of him locked away where his heart beats and with each stump jesus is interceding with a lump in his throat praying that dan will one day invoke his call to be this world's next picasso let's not forget about alonzo alonso was never born to make much money but he was born to make a difference particularly in the life of this one kid he's supposed to have with this one woman but alonzo can't seem to stop the job long enough to find a wife produce be fruitful multiply leaving god with just having dreams about the birth of this world's next martin luther king and that does not demean the meaning of alonzo by himself no alonso has the most beautiful mind filled with such intricate wisdom but without the birth of his son his mind and wisdom will die with him your cousin is here the one who has always questioned her sexuality and with each new year she swears she's going to repent until another jane doe reels her back and again your father is here the one you never really knew but seeing him here you recognize yourself and his nose his lips his broad shoulders shoulders that were broad enough to stretch themselves out across five different families with too many half-siblings to count but shoulders that were never quite strong enough to stick around long enough for mom to learn how to love again or for you to learn how to pronounce the words dada or for him to learn how to carry his own weight your heart breaks as you hear he is stuck in this god-forsaken aquarium because he is still not saved maybe and it's no excuse but maybe that is the reason why he could never quite be the man your heart so desperately longed for him to be but don't be deceived there's someone else you recognize in this aquarium too look around you see that these watery walls are not being held up by glass as you suppose them to be reach and feel your hand go straight through because these walls are not being held up by glass no they are being held up by the winds of god's mercy and grace but only only for a moment only long enough for you to realize that this dry ground you've been running on trying to recapture the thing god just delivered you out of is actually the bottom of the red sea friend you are me every time god tells you to let something go and you say no because well because you're scared scared that what if god isn't big enough isn't good enough isn't strong enough and doesn't love you enough to take what you give up and put something better in its place now look me in my face and tell me once again how we're not the same welcome to our aquarium turn around to the front of it touch the glass feel your heart fill with dread just like mine did the moment you realize you're on the wrong side of it i look through the glass do you see them all the people smiling laughing rejoicing even it's the church they come to aquariums to be entertained too now cherish these last few breaths because trust me pretty soon this ground won't be so dry anymore look around you and soak in all of the faces of those that you know like your co-workers your cousin your father yourself and all of the billions of other people who are stuck in this god forsaken aquarium until one of them the christians get serious enough about the great commission to dive in and free us out we are a people in need of an exodus two before you die let your heart fly with compassion for us that you never allowed yourself to feel when you always suppose yourself to be safe on the other side of the glass flash your last smile and wave goodbye to all of the fancy church folks safe on the other side who are cheerfully waving goodbye to you as they gleefully expectantly callously are just waiting for these infinite blue walls to collapse [Music] amen thank god for you are there any survivors in the house this morning people who can say that i made it because of the grace of god hallelujah glory to god [Music] how did i make it [Music] all these years how did i make it this far [Music] through the valleys and over the hills i know it had to be gone how did i make it through the storm [Music] if you want to know just how i got here y'all it's so easy to explain i'ma tell you it was god's grace god's grace made god praise his amazing praise for this i made it this far [Music] how did you make it [Music] come on can you be a witness it was god's grace god's grace [Music] now that you're making y'all listen say lord i thank you for how you brought me how you brought me through the night yeah say the lord you kept me thank you and you never let me know that you stood by my side yeah thank you jesus there were so many times that i came so close oh man that was trying to take me in december 2020 but the reason i'm here it's not hard for me to say hallelujah in fact it's so easy to explain oh god's grace thank you it was god's grace oh his grace this amazing praise anybody [Music] this far [Applause] how did you make it y'all the grace of god come on can you feel we can say it was god's grace [Music] how did you make i believe somebody can say today i remember the times when i strayed away even though i knew the word still i didn't obey you but god's mercy and his grace stayed with me and then he brought me brought me all the way [Music] thank you for your grace [Music] anybody know that you made it this far how did you make it i wonder if there anybody here know that it was god's grace not any goodness of my own but oh jesus god's grace thank you oh [Music] come on sing it to us god's grace is amazing great come on say i made it how did you make it everybody lift it up say god's great thank you for your grace amazing grace i'll sweep this sound save the wrecks like me [Music] come on let's take it a little higher [Music] by the grace of god can you be a witness it was god's grace thank you for your grace the grace and mercy of the lord [Music] wait a minute the original leader of this song in this church it's a walking miracle and that miracle is here today so can sierra clean your mic in other buns you hear brother you got to take a round of this that's a man who can be a witness that it was god's grace thank you jesus [Music] thank you [Music] i just want you to just give a little part of the testimony back in february i got covey and uh came through it pretty good not many problems but right after that i got an irregular heartbeat my heart was beating so fast just beating out of control so i went to clinic to get checked out and uh did the ekg they said ekg came back okay but there's something else that's out of whack so they sent me to the heart clinic so when i went to the heart clinic my heart was still beating they tried to regulate it with medicine but it wouldn't regulate so when i went back to the heart clinic they told me that they rushed me immediately to the emergency room and the people in the emergency room they were just frantic they were just you know running around and they just say look at him he's not even wearing it because i wasn't worried [Music] because i knew either way i was gonna be okay amen now we're gonna build somebody's fate today [Music] so they they took me from the emergency room they took me up to icu and i stayed in icu for a while and still trying to get my heart regulated but during the interim i developed gout i had it in both my wrists you know anybody that's had gout you know what i'm talking about now if you hadn't had it it might not seem like much to you but anybody that's had it can tell you i had it in both my wrist i had it in my ankles i had it in my knees i had it in my shoulder i had ivs in me i couldn't move over i couldn't get comfortable i was having back spasms just everything it was just clouding in one thing after another after another but i told the lord and i told my family i say one thing i'm not gonna do i'm not gonna complain [Music] not one word came out of my mouth complaining everything came out of my mouth was praising the lord and thanking the lord and while we were there this is how good god is because mercy keeps you from something it it keeps you from being destroyed that's what mercy does but grace goes a step further grace and mercy are not the same thing grace is that unmerited favor that god would put upon you so even when i was in the hospital on my back i was still ministering to people god god was using me so what i wanted to let you know that wherever you are today [Music] whatever condition that you're in god's grace it's sufficient for you it's sufficient for you hallelujah [Music] it was god's grace [Music] [Applause] [Music] it was god's way [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey [Music] god [Applause] [Music] [Applause] can you get on your feet and acknowledge this god that gave you the breath in your body this god has provided everything for you [Music] come hallelujah [Music] can we give him glory can we give him glory hallelujah [Applause] [Music] [Music] thank you for your grace [Music] [Music] [Music] i know if you hadn't recognized it's not church as usual no more it's not church as usual no more and i'm just going to say it and sit down i don't want to get in trouble [Music] but if you're not ready to get out of the aquarium god is going to let you drown i don't mean physically because it's a new level in here [Music] now we've heard enough word [Music] it's time to put on our big boy pants and our big girl pants [Music] it's a new level there's a new anointing i'll just say this one thing and i'm going to sit down in electrical current you can have a small cut in your wire that can cut off the electricity to your whole house it's called a short don't you be a short don't you be don't you be that thing that causes the anointing not to flow the way god wants it to flow don't you be there's no need for you getting up in the morning and coming here if you're not ready [Music] to give praise and worship to the lord you can stay at home if you want to [Applause] that day is over it's over [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] we made it this far look at you look at you you made it you're a survivor you're an overcomer you're more than a conqueror [Music] hallelujah glory glory glory hallelujah [Music] god's grace i made it this far how did you make it by the grace [Music] come on everybody who did he [Music] [Applause] with say [Music] [Applause] [Music] we're going to our feet but i bet you won't lift your hands and sing to the lord praise god [Applause] [Music] you ought to give him all the glory glory glory [Music] i gotta praise god with everything that's within you [Music] praise god [Applause] [Music] [Music] everybody [Music] praise god [Music] well i need you to take just about 30 more seconds to lift up the name that is above every other name that will meet you right in the hour right in the moment of your greatest need hallelujah i am so glad that we serve a god who does not leave us like he found us can you just look over at somebody and say i'm so glad he didn't leave me like he found me he didn't just bring me out but he's taken me in [Music] hallelujah [Music] something that will stand the test of time something that will stand the test of life something that will hold me up when life tries to pull me down something [Music] well i'm telling you what i have been blessed and ministered to from the beginning of the service up until now and so we believe god to give us now the conclusion of the matter i tell you what we started a series several weeks back on the fruit of the spirit and it's taken all of god in me to finish it up on today i tell you what after all that we experienced during the time of revival but they told me a responsible pastor will finish what you start so i'm gonna finish it up today but listen next week we're starting a new series called takeover season because if you are a part of jackson revival center you already know the prophetic word that has been spoken and declared over this house and this is our takeover season this is not a fleshly thing this is a spiritual thing and so i'm just telling you it's taken all of god in me to finish up gentleness and self-control today [Music] but i tell you what i tell you what god gave us a good illustration of it sunday before last because it was an illustration of gentleness because gentleness is the ability to yield gentleness is the ability not to demand your own way but to say god your ways are higher than my ways your thoughts are higher than my thoughts and whatever you want to do however you want to do it we are going to yield to you and so we're going to talk about it today but as we get ready to go into the word we've got a few prayer requests we want to pray for sister demetri greene and sister stephanie giles their entire families who celebrated the homegoing of her sister on yesterday we want to continue to lift up brother buck allman our sound engineer he and his family they buried his grandfather on this week this is the third grandparent he has lost this year january july and september so we continue to lift them up my dear friend pastor matt hester who has been here with us his father transitioned on yesterday great man of god preached the word for many years faithful to the call and so we want to lift them up sister alva who is a member sister alva sims a member of our church is getting ready to have surgery we had several people this past week who had surgery so we want to continue to lift them up and then i want us to lift up the greater pearly grove church family uh on this morning and so we're just going to continue to lift up all of these needs and requests before the lord and perhaps you have a need that is not spoken or need you've not had the opportunity to share with me i want you to just lift up your holy hands all over this building and we're going to pray and ask god that he would meet us here and that he would do the things that only he can would you join me heavenly father we thank you for this day this is the day that you have made and lord we rejoice and we are glad in it father we thank you right now for the doors that you have opened for the ways that you've already made for the prayers that have already been answered and now we come again to partake and to receive more from you father we thank you that there will be miracles signs and wonders among us we ask now that you would awaken those that are sleeping father that you would restore those who were broken father that you would draw someone who is lost to the saving power of the lord jesus christ father we ask that you would touch that you would heal that you would deliver that you would set free father you know every need in this house whether it be unspoken or unspoken we ask now that you would touch bodies that are sick and father call them now cause them to be healed we ask right now for those who are hurting whose heads are down that you would lift up bowed down heads that you would encourage those who have been discouraged father that you would do it only you can move and have your way in this place we are thankful and careful to give you the honor of the glory and the praise in jesus name everybody said amen amen and amen you can be seated i tell you what remain standing grab your bible let's go to john chapter 4 john chapter 4 verses 1 through 14 hallelujah john 4 verses 1 through 14. [Music] i'm reading from the king james version those of you who have a different translation yours may read a little bit differently but we'll end up in the same place john 4 verses 1 through 14 it said when therefore the lord knew how the pharisees had heard that jesus made and baptized more disciples than john though jesus himself baptized not but his disciples he left judea and departed again into galilee and he must needs go through samaria then cometh he to a city of samaria which is called psychar near to the parcel of ground that jacob gave to his son joseph now jacob's well was there jesus therefore being wearied of his journey set on the well and it was about the sixth hour that would be noon there cometh a woman of samaria to draw water jesus saith unto her give me to drink for his disciples were going away unto the city to buy meat then saith the woman of samaria unto him how is it that thou being a jew asked a drink of water of me and i am a woman of samaria for the jews have no dealings with the samaritans jesus answered and said unto her if thou knewest the gift of god and who it is that saith to thee give me to drink thou would have asked of him and he would have given thee living water the woman said unto him sir there has nothing to draw with and the well is deep from whence then hast thou that living water are thou greater than our father jacob who gave us the well and drank thereof himself and his children and his cattle and jesus answered and said unto her whosoever drinketh of this water shall never thirst again but whosoever drinketh of the water i'm sorry whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again but whosoever drinketh of the water that i shall give him shall never thirst the water that i shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life i want you to just tell somebody one more time i'm so glad that he won't leave you like he found you you can be seated in the presence of the lord we're talking about having the good sense to yield to the work that holy spirit wants to do and so this passage is a great illustration of gentleness gentleness deals with how we treat and respond to people who are under our care and responsibility it speaks to humility to be free of pride and to walk before others with humility and so when we look at this i am reminded of jesus when he was getting ready to ascend and to go back to the father uh he had gathered his disciples and he began to talk to his disciples because the thing that was really on his heart was was what is going to happen to them when i go back to be with my father because he understood that that their being together their their unified their unification in the spirit was the thing that gave them their strength and so he was really letting them know when i go back to be with the father it is important how you treat and deal with one another and so he said love one another as i have loved you in other words i'm the vine you are the branches if you are in me and i am in you you ought to look like me and so that's where we begin to understand uh that we gotta have some love we gotta have some joy and some peace some long suffering some goodness and kindness some faithfulness and so today we're gonna talk about uh gentleness and self-control i was so blessed because i saw a conversation a dialogue on facebook where uh one of our members was talking and she said now through the teaching on sonship i understand the importance of the fruit of the spirit now i understand why it is important for these characteristics to be present in our lives if we are going to be sons and daughters of the most high god and so uh i understand man let me tell you something the revival has been more to me maybe even than some of you the the refreshing and the renewal uh to purpose and the renewal uh to the call of god and to the plans of god there is nothing more life-changing than a real experience with the lord himself nothing can change the trajectory of your life like a real encounter with the lord jesus christ i'm not talking about this stuff that's based on hype i'm not talking about uh emotionalism but i'm talking about when you know god has heard you and when you know you have heard from him there is something so transformational about the nature of christ something about interacting with him that is so transformative that that when you have that type of encounter that type of experience it is impossible for him to leave you like he found you oh y'all don't want to go with me this morning but if you don't believe me just ask the man who said i once was blind but now i see just ask the boy who was plagued by a demon and when he got in the presence of jesus was immediately set free just ask lazarus who was called forth from a dead place just asked the man whose hand was withered just ask somebody who's really had an encounter just how transformational an experience with him can really be if he's broke he can fix it if you're hurting he can heal it oh let's go on and go in here this particular text is an extremely significant text one of the reasons that it is so significant it is one of the longest recorded conversations that jesus has with anybody if you go throughout the bible you will see this is one of the longest recorded conversations jesus had with anybody that the length of this conversation with this particular woman points to the significance of this dialogue now we understand in the previous chapter in john chapter 3 jesus has had conversation with a named man he's had a conversation in the midnight hour with a man by the name of nicodemus you have to understand nicodemus was influential nicodemus was a moral man nicodemus was a religious man and so now we see in john chapter 4 jesus having this dialogue this encounter with this unnamed woman now we see it was a named man who was moral who was religious who was honored and revered but now the tension of that conversation is still present and jesus is talking to an unnamed woman who is not religious who is immoral and who is looked down upon by those in her community that what we see here is a divine illustration of gentleness as we find this around the way girl she's been around the block a time or two or three or four and she has tried to drink from every whale in her life only to come up empty every time i just wonder if there's anybody in here today who knows what it is to live life in a thirst trap or y'all don't want to go with me you don't want to talk to me but but jesus the bible said uh was weary that they have been working they've been doing ministry and jesus takes a moment to take a rest that he is sitting on the well to pause and one translation lets us know it's like he's resting yet he stops to meet her somebody needs to understand that we serve a god who is just as intentional about ordering your stops as he is ordering your steps jesus stops to take a rest and he discerns in this woman a thirst of which she did not speak and immediately we begin to see the nature of god that has been produced on the inside of him as evidenced in the demeanor and the response of jesus christ that jesus saw her everybody else saw her situation everybody else saw her past everybody else saw her resume but jesus saw her it's like second corinthians 10 11 where it says i choose to appeal to you in gentleness and kindness choosing to show forth the nature of god in how i deal with you that jesus saw her and when he saw her he saw all of her vulnerabilities that jesus put on the mind of god acted with the heart of god saw her through the eyes of god and revealed the character of god in how he dealt with her that he dealt with her in gentleness and humility he stopped and introduced her to the idea that her life did not have to stay the same way that it was you got to understand this woman has been in the same situation five times before this woman has tried to start over five times before this woman has come to the end of a thing five times before only to wind up and find herself in the same place she's been time and time again but jesus come to let you know you don't have to stay the way that it is i can't leave you the way that i found you and so jesus began to speak to her hurts and her wounds and all of her issues and all of the things that she had going on in her life he lets her know it is possible to be free from the burden free from the stresses of life that she has become so accustomed to carrying and through this conversation he leads her to a fresh new drink of water can i let you know jackson revival sinner i know you've heard this text before i know you've heard me preach it before but the spirit of the lord is in the house letting you know you might have been in the same place you might have been in some of the same situations but god is leading us to fresh waters it's not going to be just a new dream it's not going to be just a new flow but it is going to be a life-giving whale of water that will never run dry we see a woman who has been through hard times whose life is jaded and her heart has been hardened by the things that she has suffered and yet he brings her to this one encounter that has the potential to change her life forever one encounter makes it impossible for her to leave her like she is and i tell you what just visiting a text like this today ought to cause all of us to reflect on the place where god found us because how quickly we forget sometimes the truth of the matter is all of us have been this woman all of us have been in a place where we were desperately looking for something we didn't know how to find something to fill the void something to occupy a space of emptiness something to occupy that place of dissatisfaction something that would heal our heart something that would medicate our pain that we've been drinking from every whale that we could find because there is a hole in our soul we know what it is to drink and to drink and to drink and to never be satisfied never finding anything to sustain never finding anything that can hold us that can keep us but when jesus met this woman he offered her a drink from a whale and her life was never the same i need somebody to say i've tasted a drink and it has caused my life to never be the same i came to talk to somebody in this place today who in your life you are frustrated and you are irritated and you've been in a place that nothing could satisfy nothing could make you happy nothing could fulfill the hole in your soul but jesus said i came to take you further i came to take you deeper because you're wanting something that is pure you're wanting something that is transformative and the word of the lord to the house today is that jesus said i will not leave you like i found you i'm not gonna leave you in your frustration i'm not gonna leave you in your heart i'm not gonna leave you in your disappointment but i came to pick you up [Music] i don't care how long you've been dealing with whatever it is that you are dealing with god has the power to change your life in one one one one moment all it takes is one revelation of who jesus really is and it'll change your life forever [Music] we see this woman we see her situation but really we can see beyond the woman beyond her situation to the destiny that god has ordained for her to have can i just let you know i don't care how dressed up you are this morning i don't care how pretty your perfume smells how good your cologne may be how well and how neat you lined your lips and applied your makeup i don't care brothers how neat the barber lined up your line let's set the record straight everybody in here has been dealing with something i know you look to the left you look to the right and the folk around you look like they got it all together but we are all sinners who have been saved by the grace of god that salvation was not a reward to be earned but it is a gift that has been freely given oh it's the gift of god lest any of us should be able to boost so just look over and tell everybody you're in good company you in good company we see [Music] we see this woman who felt isolated and she she was intimidated by all the folk around her and she comes to jacob's well to draw this water now it's not interesting that she came what's interesting is when she came that that we see her and we begin to understand that uh other women came in the morning because it was cool in the morning this was at least a miles journey to the well and so uh the women would go early in the morning because it was a hot sweaty trip it's the kind of trip where your clothes be sticking to you your hair is matted to your face because you're sweating and it's hot it's dusty and the dust is making mud between your toes and so the other women would come early in the morning to try and beat the heat they would come early so women could talk and gather y'all know how we do it we we catch up on the latest and talking about who did what when and where and so the other women came because it was a time among them for socialization come and share stories and this is when they would talk about the latest current events and we find though in verses 17 and 18 the answer to why this woman did not come when all of the other women came because when she saw jesus and he starts talking about this drink that he wants to give her she said well i i have no husband that this woman who didn't feel safe revealing herself to other folk finds herself comfortable enough to talk about what's going on in her life with somebody she's never even met before she said i don't i don't have a husband and jesus takes it a little further he said matter of fact you've had size and the one you with now ain't yours maybe maybe she didn't go when all the women went because she went when the men went so she could kick it with the eggs [Applause] maybe she didn't go when the other women went because she knew she would be the topic of conversation this woman is a social outcast because she has done some things she knows she should not have done now you know sometimes people act like they don't know why people treat them the way that they do but but truth be known sometimes folk know what you did and remember what you did don't look at me in that tone of voice not only was this woman a social outcast she was a spiritual outcast now see you got to see some things at play here because jesus is here saying i want to give you a drink like you've never had but first he acted like she could do something for him she's a social outcast she's a spiritual outcast and the thing that you've got to remember is that the devil wants you to feel separated from god he wants you to feel disconnected from the love of god [Music] i met the love of god before i ever met god so the devil's main objective is to have you living under guilt under condemnation under shame but the jesus the the jesus has come to tell this woman you think it's the folk around you but it's the sin within you now you got to stay with me though because he's not there to point out hercy he said you you think it's the folk around you that are causing you to feel outcast and intimidated and like you don't belong but really it's the sin within you it is not the people it's the thing you are allowing to work in you and so in verse 20 it said our fathers worshiped in this mountain and you say that in jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship jesus said unto her woman believe me the hour cometh when you will neither worship in the mountain nor at jerusalem you worship what you do not know we know what we worship for salvation is of the jews now you got to understand what's playing out here because we are watching the conversation between jesus and a person who is not in proper alignment with god we see isaiah 59 2 play out right in front of us isaiah 59 2 says but your iniquities have separated between you and god your sin has hid his face from he didn't hide his face sin step between you and him and and you could not see beyond your sin this woman is relationally frustrated she is spiritually disconnected she is in a miserable place because she can't pray like she should she can't worship like she should all she knows how to do is go through the physical routine of religious activity that are only appeasing her flesh going through the motion of a of a religious experience that is void of relationship this is a picture of what it is to come to church but not really be connected to the god you say you're praying to th this this is what it is to come to church and to lift your hands but your mind is back at home this is a picture of of what it means to just be going through the motions to be drifting and separated because of the iniquity that you have regarded within your heart y'all know we as church folk we know how to act deep we know how to act like we are spiritual but you know in your heart you're going through the motions and you're looking at everybody else experiencing the anointing and feeling the presence of god and you're wishing you could feel what it looks like they are feeling that's a place of spiritual isolation and and so she's in a place of isolation but she's also in a place of ignorance where she is lacking the knowledge of what it is that is holding her where she is she's she's void of understanding and and that that being void of understanding is accompanying her feeling of isolation and yet she's trying to argue religion with jesus she's trying to argue the word with the word is it just me or has anybody in here ever argued with the word of god that you'll be having a conversation with god arguing about the word with the word [Music] and so she she real she's got a perception that this this this is somebody and so she starts trying to be religious to impress him and so at this point as far as she knows he's he's just another man he's just another jew and so she begins to tell him look i know a little something about religion too then saith the woman of samaria unto him how is it that thou being a jew how is it you asking me for a drink when you know i am a woman of samaria so you got to understand this right here is proof that jesus will overcome any barrier to get to you because typically everybody that is jewish would have bypassed the city of samaria to go around but jesus said no i've got to go through because if i don't go through there's somebody that needs to be reached that's not going to be reached [Applause] and so she's saying how is it that you a jewish man would ask me a samaritan woman for a drink because you know the jews have no dealings with the samaritans but when we go on to verse 11 the one said and and let me just go and point this out to you too you're saying that you came and you want to drink but you don't even have anything to draw with and the well is deep so it's not like you can just reach over in there with your hand and and quit your thirst you don't even have anything to draw with so from whence from where do you have this living water in essence this woman is kind of coming for jesus she's going after him she's saying you came to get water but you ain't even got nothing to get water with you ain't even got anything to drink from and so she's arguing with jesus she knows something's different but she's sarcastic she ridicules him and here we see gentleness on display where's gentleness pastor well let me show you because she's coming for him but he refuses to argue with her [Music] part of the characteristic of gentleness is that it refuses to argue ii timothy 2 24 said and a servant of the lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all able to teach patient in humility correcting those in opposition that if god perhaps grants them repentance so that they may know the truth they will come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil having been taken captive by him to do his will in other words he said i refuse to let you engage me in an argument i refuse to quarrel with you and miss the reason i was sent to you galatians 6 1 said brethren if a man is overtaken in a trespass this means a woman too if you see your brethren overtaken in a trespass ye who are spiritual [Applause] everybody's been overtaken by something at some point but but everybody can't restore somebody who's been overtaken he said ye who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness another version said a spirit of meekness that meekness is gentleness restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness meekness and in love last he said when you restore you got to consider yourself lest you also be tempted so jesus comes he said i'm not gonna quarrel with you you trying to argue about the word with the word but i'm not going there i'm going to love you and restore you in a spirit of meekness and love considering myself lest i also be tempted jesus was tempted in all points like as are we yet without sin so now we watch gentleness at what can we understand gentleness breeds calm gentleness breeds a consistency of character it is not volatile it is not abrupt in its response to the world that acting with gentleness is actually an act of rebellion you say what acting with gentleness is actually a radical thing there are others that would call it weak there are other other folk who would call it wimpy but the bible lets us know it's actually an act of rebellion because it stands counter to the expectation of a quick tempered blame of fueled culture where we want to deal with our frustrations by criticizing other people and fearing and fighting anyone or any way of life that we don't understand or subscribe to is this helping anybody [Music] so in verse 10 of chapter 4 jesus said if you knew the gift of god and who it is that was talking to you saying give me drink you when you heard me ask you for a drink you would have asked me for [Music] the question is do we really know him because what she's been searching for in every other well in her life is now staring her in the face which lets me know sometimes we can be praying for a thing we don't even recognize when it comes [Applause] you're talking about your religion you're talking about what you know but do you know him because a lot of people know church but they don't know jesus and if you know church but you don't know him you will be a sitting duck for every movement that comes along and challenges your belief and you'll be tossed to and fro with every win of doctrine do you know him and do you know him beyond the iconic depictions that other people have put before you do you know him beyond what other people say do you have an experience because there are a lot of people you'll find in seminary even there are a lot of people who know the old testament the new testament all the 66 books the major prophets the minor prophets the dispensations church history and denominational founders but have forgotten the principal thing that you shall believe on the lord jesus christ and you shall be saved she tries to argue she's a woman with a colorful past but she's trying to prove what she knows there are a lot of church folk today who try to manipulate the word to fit and justify what they don't want to change talking about well i know how they teach y'all what the bible says but i see it this way well i know what is written but i don't see it that way the word of god has never been based on how any of us feel about what it says according to psalm 199 89 the word of god is forever settled in heaven is settled is not up for debate which means it is fixed it is said it is definitively resolved it has conclusively been agreed upon it is in order it is stable it is permanent it is firm it has been decided upon it is secure it has been brought to rest it's established so it doesn't matter how you feel about it if he said it it's already done see see there's a lot of folk dealing with how they feel about coming back to church not realizing your feelings took over a long time ago and if you leave it up to your feelings your feelings ain't never going to lead you back to a place [Music] so you got to make a decision and once you make a decision your feelings will follow your choice there's a lot of people who don't want to believe what the bible says about a lot of things because it is contrary to how folk want to live in this day and time but see we see the gentleness of god show up in this conversation jesus is having with this woman because gentleness deals with our submission to his nature and his purpose that jesus said i'm not fisting to get up uh arguing with you that that i'm going to submit to the nature of god to the purpose of god and what it does is it communicates care and compassion that the woman has already had this wall torn down when she said look i come here by myself because i don't have a husband and he said yeah you've had five of them and the one you've got now is not your own and yet she's not offended she don't feel attacked and and see what it comes down to is are we going to do it our way or are we going to do it god's way because god doesn't allow us to manipulate his word to advance our own agenda so so the comes to this time this place where you've just got to say god's word has already been settled in heaven it is invalid it is infallible it is an errand it is immutable unchanging irrefutable indispensable the grass withers and the flower fades but the word of the lord shall endure forever heaven and earth may pass away but his word will endure forever this is a woman who has been isolated by her sin she's she's acted out in some ways that were not profitable for her not profitable for the community around her and so now she has become inconsistent in her behavior even though her sin is ever present before us in this text the text doesn't make excuses for what she did but we see in the midst of her doing there is a dealing who knows what it is to experience in the midst of your doing there's a godly dealing so we see the gentleness of god at work we see the compassion of the savior that it doesn't matter what you've done or how far out there you've gone and and i know y'all probably don't need it i probably just could have given you these four little points about gentleness but just for the two or three who do just just consider verse 4 that said he must needs go through some mary that that that probably don't really mean anything because i know a lot of y'all you already got it together but but but when you think about the fact that he went out of his way to go where most people refused to go i'm talking about y'all the jews hated the samaritans so much that if they got close to them they would pick up their garment to keep their garment from being contaminated by the dust of samaria but jesus said i got to go through i dare you to look at somebody and say you had to go through that that jesus extends a grace to this woman see see y'all y'all understand the history i've shared it before jews didn't like samaritans because samaritans were the offspring of jews who had intermingled with gentiles and so the jews thought themselves to be superior do you understand how old these race debates are do you understand how long folk been bickering and allowing man-made barriers to separate folk from the grace of god because of the color of somebody's skin because of a region or district somebody came from do y'all know really how old that conversation really is and so jesus don't care about uh the jewish heritage in that they're allowing it to become a barrier or a wall jesus is coming he is a specialist in breaking protocol [Music] he is a specialist at doing the unexpected thing at the unexpected time in an unexpected place that he doesn't care about this racial divide that jesus comes and he extends grace to this world and he says i don't care how you've been viewed socially i don't care how you've been viewed economically i don't care i came to bring deliverance to your life [Music] because other folks saw a samaritan woman and around the way girl but jesus saw an evangelist [Music] other folks saw and see you've got to understand this is a spark this is a beginning of revival in this text because everybody else had counted her out but jesus said i see revival in her [Music] that who everybody else intentionally avoided jesus saw beyond what she had done and saw who she was see gentleness is learning how to deal with people according to knowledge it is love it is god loving people where they are how they are through you i'm gonna say it again gentleness is learning how to dwell with people according to knowledge it is god loving people where they are as they are through you that you don't have to wait for god to transform them to embrace them and to love them that it is god loving people as they are through so and so if it were not for this encounter she would have been walking through her life miserable she would have been walking through her life thinking everything was okay but jesus said i can't leave you like i found you he said i came to destroy the works of the devil i came that you may have life and that more abundantly that his grace provided for our salvation and i know you ain't gonna shout over this like you shout over the new house and the new car those are coming too but see you gotta understand justice demanded you would be dead before you got the house or the car and it was the grace of god that said no i gotta keep you here long enough to receive and to have everything i said that belongs to you [Music] so as a result we've got this grace so look at the gentleness of god i promise you i'm almost jesus met her where she was and he led her to where she needed to be we see gentleness we see grace we see mercy we see self-control because when he reveals himself to her that is when her spirit begins to open up but but look at how he does not force himself that he just stands there and knocks he just stands there and just laughs he just stands there and see the thing i love about him is that no matter how long it takes some folk he's been knocking for months for some folk he's been knocking for years for some folk he's been knocking for decades but he nice you out there dropping it like it's hot but he knocks oh you out there you got your new buffing and you're not studying god but he stands there and he knocks and when boothing breaks your heart and you come back to the one place that still has open arms waiting to receive you he stands there still knocking oh i don't know about you but i'm glad that he knocked and he kept on knocking whatever your context whatever your situation i'm glad that he kept knocking is anybody in here glad that when other folks stop calling stop knocking stop showing up jesus was right there knocking on the door of your hearts let me talk to somebody this morning who is frustrated and who is burdened because you've carried a burden for somebody and they don't seem to be hearing they don't seem to be turning they don't seem to be changing you may not know it you may not hear it you may not see it but i got to let you know god is still knocking you got to keep praying you got to stay on your knees before the lord in prayer because salvation is going to come to their house you're here today because somebody prayed for you you were here because somebody had you on their mind you were here because somebody got down on their knees and said a prayer for you when you were running in the opposite direction when you didn't want to hear anything pertaining to god when you didn't want to hear of the grace of god when you weren't studying the mercy of god somebody was lifting up your name in prayer and look here you are today in the house of the lord with your hands lifted high with the praises of god flowing off your lips [Music] jesus promised to give this woman a gift he said you've been coming and getting water but you got a bucket full of water and you're still empty see there's a lot of people you've been chasing things that you thought were gonna fill you up you got the nice car but you're still empty you got the bigger house but you're still empty you got that spouse that blue thing but you're still empty got the promotion got a new title but you're still empty got some more letters behind your name but still empty got all the rings and bling and diamond things but still [Music] that's why we tell people all the time you can't go by how things look on the outside because many times what you see on the outside is not indicative of the real deal [Music] it looks good from the outside it looks good from the street but if you walked up the driveway and went into the house she has a bucket full of water but she's empty she's tried all of these physical relationships been married five not not one time she had alonzo dan ricardo juan kj i mean she tyrone [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] number five said you better call tyler y'all come back come back [Music] [Applause] well see that's the thing that i love about the lord because that's where the lord will meet you [Music] that's where he'll meet you he said girl if you keep drinking of that water you gonna stay thirsty he said but i got a drink and he said you don't have to go to every other well looking for this one he said this one will be in you anytime you get thirsty it will be a well in you springing up to everlasting lives see you keep going to those whales it's going to be same dysfunction different way or you keep going to this man and that man or this woman and that woman it's gonna be a problem he said but i'm going to let there be in you a fountain that will spring up to everlasting life [Music] so many people have been in cycles where it's the same dysfunction different name same dysfunction different address and jesus is saying that water from those whales is going to keep you empty that water is going to have you repeating the same cycles that water will have you going in circles empty he said but if you drink of this water [Music] you're gonna realize you don't have to go outside anymore you don't have to run from location to location to quench your thirst that everything you need [Music] the word drink in verse 13 implies if you keep drinking of that water you're gonna be thirsty again but the same word drink in verse 14 the same word different connotation for he said if you drink of this drink the interpretation is all it takes is one that if you drink of this tree all it takes is one drink to wash away the dysfunction to wash away the hurt to wash away the pain all of it can be taken away with one drink this ain't hennessy this ain't so rock this ain't patron it's if you if you keep going for the natural stuff it'll medicate it today you'll forget it for a minute but you'll wake up tomorrow it's going to still be said but you're just going to have a headache on top of it so but you take a drink of this one all it takes is one drink and this one drink can do what nobu can do what no drug can do what no drink can do what multiple [Applause] relationships that what jesus is offering he's saying what i'm offering you today is better than what you've ever had for he is offering salvation for your soul forgiveness for all of your sins the opportunity to be right before god the opportunity not to go to hell he's offering peace he's offering goodness he's offering joy kindness gentleness long-suffering stuff that money cannot and i'm telling you when you really have a real experience with him you can truly say jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that god has raised him from the dead the bible said you shall be saved somebody in here who loves them all to give him glory today [Applause] this [Music] this woman realized there is something better that god literally wants to change your situation but before he changes your situation he's got to change your mind he's got to change the way you think and so sometimes in order to change the way you think he will leave you in certain situations long enough he will cover you in that situation as long as he realizes you have not made up your mind to change [Music] but he keeps working with you and he keeps working in you because he refuses to leave you like he found you and as he continues working with you and refusing to leave you like he found eventually he pulls the cover off and you come to a place yourself that you go say come see a man who knew everything there was to know about me come see a man who knew that i had five husbands and the one that i was within was not my own he told me everything that was come see come get a drink and you will never thirst again that the one that everybody else had counted out god had come with you and jesus said what you have been looking for is standing right in front of you that you've been looking for love in all the wrong places but there is a drink can i let you know there is a water that can be not be seen that cannot be sensed but remains waiting to spring forth and as we have entered into a season of revival revival is not a set of services for a distinct amount of time revival is where jesus comes to you in a hard place in a dry place and says i can't leave you like i found you revival is when jesus says there is a drink that cannot be seen or sensed but remains waiting to spring forth that pressure has been building but there's about to be a release jesus begins to prophesy to all of her dry places jesus begins to command living waters to spring forth and as a result her life is changed forever second corinthians 5 17 says we are brand new creatures behold all things have passed away and all things become new this woman gets a new outlook this woman gets a new walk a new chalk and it's so much deeper than church because this woman is not living off of the experience of others with god but she's got her own experience god has changed her from the inside out god has changed her ambition and she left her water pot do y'all get that she left the thing that she brought to carry with her the thing that she had been searching for she left a bucket full of water and said i'll stick with the water running in me [Music] and my question to you today is are you so full that you're willing to leave your water pot she left her water pot she left her comfort zone she left her safety net and she went her way first to the men she went first to the ones who could verify that a real change had taken place these men knew her they could attest to who she was but when god brings you out god has a way of sending you to people who know your past and imagine what these men must have been thinking they see her but they know that it's different this time because this time she's not talking about a rendezvous this time she's not talking about a day this time she's talking about redemption this time she's talking about come see somebody who can fix what we thought could never be fixed come see a man she's talking about deliverance succumb see a man who knew about me and if he knows about me he knows about you [Music] one encounter and in one encounter he changes her whole perception of you [Music] and you may not be running the aisles you may not be shouting in the pew but the spirit of the lord made me preach this message [Applause] to let you know that what was once ink upon paper is getting ready to become spirit and life for you that god is changing our perception of who he is of who we are and we've heard it said i've taught you before this woman in verse 9 was calling this man jill in verse 11 she calls him sir in verse 19 she calls him prophet but in verse 29 she calls him christ the anointed one because the more you grow in him the more he will grow in you and she came to the point that she went from calling him jew to serve to profit [Music] to anointed wife she got to the place she didn't have to hide who she was she didn't have to hide where she had been she didn't have to hide from what she had done but she got to the place that she knew him for herself and could save nobody do we like jesus can't nobody do you like the lord standing to your feet all over this building i don't mind telling you this is one of my least favorite passages to preach and when i was praying about what would be a good passage for gentleness and self-control the lord kept pulling me back to this samaritan woman i said lord it hasn't even been that long since i preached the samaritan woman two weeks ago this is what i was going to preach i wanted to go a whole nother way today but god said finish what i had you to start so going against my flesh going against my emotion going against everything but the spirit of god because revival has to first be personal before it can be corporate and what was personal for this woman became corporate for the town of samaria what started in one became a movement for many and so what god is saying is if you will rest in the season that i've called you to you're gonna see every word fulfilled [Music] in your life is not your ability to earn john what god said is a free gift [Music] a free gift to be received not a reward to be earned [Music] we have been in so many places but we always try to go back and earn what god said he wants to do this is a season that will be unlike any other season for jackson revival center church it started fresh last sunday but today puts a period on the old and it starts a new page for the near hands lifted all over this building heavenly father we thank you for moving by your spirit father we thank you then even in moments that we've not understood what you were doing [Music] because we trusted you because we loved you enough just to follow what you told us to do we thank you father that you've led us to a brand new season you've led us to a brand new place and father just like you led that samaritan woman from a place of being thirsty from a place of being dissatisfied from a place of being unworthy from a place of being unfit for your use in the eyes of other people we thank you that you took her from that place to a place of takeover and father just like you took her you're taking us we thank you for it now and we thank you that from hard places begins to spring a whale of living water that springs up to everlasting life father that it will spring up from within us that it will nourish us that it will quench our thirst that it will nurture and develop us as you lead us forward into higher heights into deeper depths we thank you lord we call it done in jesus name everybody said amen amen and amen all over this building as you continue to pray with me there may be somebody in here who said pastor i know what it is to search well after well after well i know what it is to always be searching but forever coming up empty and today i need a fresh drink today i need fresh water from a deep well that shall never run dry if that's you i want you to lift up your hands i'm going to pray with you right where you are hallelujah i see that hand i see that hand i see those hands all over the building from the back of the building to the front of the building i see those hands heavenly father we thank you now i'm gonna ask every person in this building under the sound of my voice to pray with me and just say heavenly father i come to you now i confess and i repent of all my sins i declare now i need you know more than my necessary food i need you i need that drink that will quench that thirst i need fresh water i need living water i need to drink from the well that will never run dry i need life and that more abundantly i'm asking you now cleanse me from all unrighteousness wash me write my name in the lamb's book of life fill me with your spirit father fill me on the inside till it overflows to the outside father i thank you that i'll never be the same i thank you now that rivers of living water begin to spring forth from the dry places from the dead places from lonely places from dissatisfied places from frustrated places thank you for the renewing thank you i receive it by faith in jesus name everybody said amen amen and amen come on and put your hands together and give the lord a good handclap of praise [Music] oh i dare you to take a few more moments [Applause] [Music] and begin to praise him for real begin to worship him for real because he said the hour is coming and now he is that those who worship me shall worship me in spirit and in truth that now you don't have to worship me from behind the veil now you don't have to worship me from behind the wall now you don't have to worship me from a place of hiding but now you can worship me from a place of honesty now you can worship me from a place of truth now you can come just as i am without one plea but that god looks was set for me now you can worship him in spirit and in truth wash and i shall be clean purge me wash me and i'll be whiter than stuff come on i dare you to lift up holy hands without wrath and doubting i dare you to come now with holy hands and begin to give god glory begin to give god praise for what is done for what he's calling you into [Music] jesus [Music] and through him we have the big [Music] glory to god hallelujah hallelujah we praise you god hallelujah [Applause] i'm going to let you go quickly because time is well spent but i want to let you know the season that we're coming into is not a season of struggle it's not a season where you gotta work it up it's just a season you gotta receive and walk [Applause] that if you will allow yourself to just walk to just receive [Music] to let the mind be in you that was also in christ jesus who voted not robbery [Music] that he could walk as a son oh yes knowing he was taking nothing away from the father hallelujah father i thank you right now for everybody that is broken for everybody that is sick i thank you for healing that flows right now in the name of jesus i thank you that bodies are being brought from a place of brokenness to a place of wholeness i thank you that minds are being broke are being brought from a place of brokenness to a place of wholeness i thank you that relationships are being restored i thank you that people are being called back to purpose i thank you lord for a season of divine manifestation [Music] i need you to give yourself permission to go [Music] i'm gonna save it for next week [Music] but i'm just gonna draw your attention to one thing real quick that apostle petri said last week he said faith is you giving god permission to do what he already said he's going to do your faith to receive what your eyes don't see see you're still basing it on how you feel right now [Music] that you make it hard on the preacher to preach you into feeling like it [Music] but what god's gonna do he's gonna do it whether you feel it or not [Applause] it's not going to be based on you being hyped because you feel like he's going to do what he said he's going to do it's going to be based on the fact that by faith because you know his nature and his character he said he's gonna do a thing he's always done what he said he was going to do he's always fulfilled what he said he was going to fulfill it therefore because i know his nature and his character if he has said it if he has spoken it if it has been confirmed that out of the mouth of two or three it'll be established i went back i listened to a word from apostle hood i listened to a word uh from bishop archer i listened to the same word from apostle isaac petry that god is saying the same thing over and over and over and the thing god is asking me is how many times does it have to be confirmed through how many miles does it have to come for you to believe that i've already established what i have spoken through the mouths of these who have not conferred one with the other who don't know one another [Music] so elder bonds was right when he said you got to understand it's no longer business as usual it's no longer church as usual but you gotta come expecting and ready to receive pastor i don't know how to receive just rebuke your mind the only thing blocking your ability to receive what god wants to do is natural thinking your natural mind cannot compromise the things of the spirit that's why god said i gotta pull you over here and say i gotta speak spirit to spirit cause your natural mind will fight it your logic will fight [Applause] the natural mind does not comprehend the things of god because scripture says the things of god they are spiritually discerned [Music] so so you're not you're not going to experience the full benefit of where god is calling us into until you rebuke [Music] okay here's what we're going to do wednesday night see i got to hear from god on things because you can't miss seasons and what i wanted to do was teach a teaching on revelation the book of revelations but upon the word that was released over this house last sunday there's some things that have to be ordered in the house and so what i need is time to meet with individual groups to set everybody on course but some of what i need to do i need to do with the body as a whole so instead of doing the teaching on revelation i'm going to set the house in order [Applause] now you ain't got to be scared you ain't got to be nervous this is going to be good this is going to be edifying this is going to be refreshing so so give me a few wednesdays starting this wednesday to set the house in order and on sundays i'm gonna take you into your take overseas [Applause] but we gotta be in order to walk in that season are y'all good all right all right let me let y'all get out of here and get something to eat i love you you blessed us this morning we thank god [Applause] dr norwood we love you as always so grateful anytime you're able to come home and be in the house we're getting ready to just speak the blessing of the lord over this body to those who are watching by way of facebook live to those who are watching by way of youtube to those who are at home we increased our capacity today back to 50 percent everybody everywhere is acting like it never even existed we're not gonna throw caution to the wind but we're not gonna keep sending people home on sundays either over 70 people were in the overflow last sunday and over 20 cars were sent back home i can't feel okay with that people are hungry people are ready students are in classrooms 30 000 people in stadiums [Applause] so while it is absolutely positively my job to make sure i keep us safe i'm going to keep us safe we're going to continue wearing our mask we're going to continue to check in those temperatures we're going to keep our protocols in place our machines are going every single sunday we're going to keep our protocols in place but for one year we have been at 25 and 30 percent capacity we're up to 50 percent and as the numbers drop as the numbers drop we're going to continue increasing our capacity so we're up to 50 so there are more seats available now than there have been before today all right those of you who say pastor i've been trying to come i can't get a seat call me and let me know [Music] i'll make sure we do what we need to do responsibly all right [Applause] i love you who's ready [Music] hallelujah it's gonna be good just look over at
