so I'm with my 567 with the nut wrap on it and I wanted to just cover the nut wrap stuff for you guys to try to help you get it fixed if you got a problem um gonna run through as much as I can some of it you're gonna have to refer to your book to figure out how to do it but just gonna give you the run-of-the-mill stuff here the thing you want to look at on this box there's three bolts here you'd have a tendency of the clip not breaking or whatnot and having an issue when you have that issue the box will flex forward and your roller will rub up in here um if you're running cover edge net you're gonna want to take a file you're going to clean this baby up as best you can so don't have any Nick's or burrs on it if that ever happens or you'll wrap nut there every time you got your wrap pan you want it to be making contact with the belt but not too much contact um I like it to go up and touch the belt but not be held up completely tight when I got this baler it had a piece of poly bolted on the back here since it was getting more through um what I normally do is source a piece from the local welding shop that lays right over this when I worked at John Deere that's what they did they laid the piece over it had eight holes in it that lined up here you welded the hole shut and ground them smooth put a couple beads on the back and you were done um talked to another guy he thought it was a better idea to cut the welds take this off and replace the pan with the single layer so it's not too heavy because you got a leaf spring that's holding this up and you get too much weight you could have an issue but you want this just up and touching and even on both sides which is adjusted here with this bolt on each side of this pipe another thing down here is there's a ring that you want to make sure especially on cover edge you got about the thickness of a corridor clearance between this ring and this upper piece so that your um Rapp can get through there if you see net wrapped bales that have all the way around them that is missing like or the net split where it just splits look for debris that's hanging out right in here between any of the belts when the net wrap goes by it'll tear the divider in it and cause that issue on the 567 s and 8 I don't think they ever really fixed the problem but you've got a bearing on each side and then your bolt when this break applies I've seen I just looked at a baler the other day this bolt breaks off in the casting to prevent that take a little piece of key stock quarter inch or whatever and weld it in front of it so that this bolt and the slot doesn't make contact anymore with the front of the slot when the break comes on and just takes a little piece and while they're in you can take the bolt out here pull the pulley off and do your work there's shims between these two pulley halves um that affects the stretch of the net wrap in respect to that normally there's two shims difference between edge to edge and cover edge net you there's a procedure in the book that actually covers measuring the stretch of the net by like taking your net normally measuring how many zigzags and whatever distance and then measuring the same when it's stretched on the Bale to get a desired amount this angle here correlates to if I can get it in the image that notch there when the net goes to apply this comes up releases the brake and tensions the belt you want your clearance to be up in that quarter inch kind of range here so that your belts tight if it's coming up and bottoming out it's going to not have the belt tight enough if it's way too far down your nut could get tangled up and not feed in right when you adjust that you go to an address on the monitor and you manually run this up so the you can actually take your measurement then you can run it back make an adjustment and so on that's that you got your break there's shims that you can get if you don't have any to go behind it I just replaced mine I was within spec you take a torque wrench on this bolt and you try to torque 235 foot-pounds when you do that you want it to hold you want to click your torque wrench at 35 foot-pounds and not be able to turn that pulley I added a shim with the new brake and I have mine at the top and thus back at 50 foot-pounds that I can click my torque wrench that's your range if you walk up and you get 35 probably nothing you need to worry about mine was working just fine I just wanted to put the brake on because it was getting worn in and yeah but 35 to 50 foot pumps you want to be able to click and have your brake hold this from turning there's a brush that's normally on here I've had mine off since I got the baler over ten thousand bales ago not a single issue I see it a lot guys talk about it building up with dirt a lot of guys say I'll just blow it out and you're good for a while get rid of it it does nothing I've wrapped net wrap on this roller I think four times and ten thousand bales the one time there was a little dime sized piece of mud on here and that grabbed it and made it wrap up and the twice that it's happened this year I drove through the rain and it was a couple days later where it wrapped up around here when the doors closed there's a seal that goes across there that seal on mine's bad I just ordered it today to replace it when I pulled the net off of that roll and took it out then that was moist that was my problem once I do that the first bail get going I don't hardly have any net wrap problems ever in respect to that should be common knowledge but never use a knife against these rollers if there's anything you can catch your nail on on the steel roller sand down if you get a nick or a bird or something in this rubber roller one that goes around it's just gonna pinch your net it's gonna give you nothing but fits on this side there's an update that deer has done before this little piece wasn't here to have a spring return and this stopper and this piece wasn't on here and what happens is when it triggers your net when the nuts feeding into the Bale it has a tendency to bend the arm of this switch that it won't tell you that it wrapped the Bale the eight series came out with this stop so it goes down that far and that's it won't Bend the switch problem solved deer sells it as a kit the kit has a plate so when I see where I can look in and see that first belt there's a plate that blocks that off or whatever issue that they've had with that but I didn't buy the plate I bought the individual pieces there's another deal if I can do this with enough hands that pad I can't can't I show you okay right there is the mounting tang that that pin goes through everything on the left side of it is additional with the kit that pad is another inch or better wider that is the pad that triggers the sensor what they were having troubles with there is edge to edge net is 64 inches wide cover edges 67 inches wide and people had troubles with the 64 inch wide edge to edge and it going to the left of the sensor and not triggering it when it actually did putting that on the bail you put the wider pad in it's able to sense it and eliminate that problem for the most part another thing when you're running edge to edge instead of cover edge there's a plug that goes in the end of the net wrap roll which centers at most of you guys are aware of this but for those who are not if it's a coverage baler and you're not running coverage net you want those plugs to Center up your roll so it feeds in right that is off the top of my head the gist of what you need to know to go through and adjust and look at make sure you're up to snuff on it and not having problems with your nut wrap system the other things that can cause problems are high moisture hay and the rollers themselves and the baler being built up with stuff that will in turn sometimes grab the net wrap and cause it to wrap up around the rolls clean stuff out to eliminate that I guess one more thing two bolts here two across and two at that end this knife will come out take that knife out maybe every other season take a I use a scotch brite pad and have it turn so it goes off the edge of the knife shine it up sharpen it up that works good for me um just once in a blue moon just to get any surface rust off of it and make sure it's cuttin good good sign that you're not cutting good where maybe your brakes not set right your knifes getting dull you love tales down here hang in and you'll see them and those tails are the zig zag in the net here if it pulls on them enough it can break them and give you you know problems with the next bail that's wrapped but overall that's the gist of the net wrap system and the adjustments that you would want to make on it I'm kind of getting to a ramble in state now I think but anyways I hope this is helpful to somebody in have a good day
